A new prof to UTD. The first exam was very easy if you studied, but the second half is getting a bit more technical. One or two pop quizzes but most are announced. A few MIPS programming assignments that aren't too hard. Lectures can get a bit dry but overall enjoyable and relevant information to learn.

This was Dr. Mazidi's first semester teaching. That being said she covered the entire syllabus in depth while always letting the class out early, and having several days of review for each test. The HW is a breeze, the quizzes are easy if you manage to pay attention, and the tests are exactly on the material. She can be a bit dry in her lectures.

This class was easy. The problem is she lets you out 30-45 minutes early. She also is not a great lecturer. Most people did not pay attention. I feel like I learned very little the second half of the semester. This is a class with a lot of details that are hard to put together, and to understand things you have to learn them on your own.

This was Mazidi's first semester teaching so the class was lenient. Lectures albeit dry do go through all the material (despite being around 30 minutes). Exams test understanding and concepts. The homework was fairly difficult, but a lot students did so well with the homework and quizzes that half the class got an A. She didn't like how high the grades were so she didn't offer much help to those who were struggling. The participation grade was also unnecessarily harsh. Overall, wasn't terrible but the class could've been handled better.

I advise finding someone else for 2340, I know there aren't many good profs for it but she doesn't want HER STUDENTS to get an A (it annoys her). She made the course way too easy during COVID(exams 10 percent). She was upset everyone was doing well, so she intentionally (100% intentional) lowered grades by tanking everyone's participation grade.

Lecture videos were clear and covered what would be on tests. Homework could get tedious but you have plenty of time to do it. However, professor very clearly lost composure because students were doing very well in the class which makes no sense as an instructor. Dr. Mazidi 100% pulled participation grades out of thin air to tank grades, sad sight.

I think she did a good job teaching and her exams, homeworks, and quizzes were all reasonable. This semester she had a really bad grading scale to where people with 70s on exams had A's. To correct this she made it worse by giving a ridiculous participation grade that was weighted as much as an exam. Overall, the course was good but dumb grading.

Lectures are 10-20 mins and so lack information depth and clarity. Participation pts were incorrect and an effort to lower grades as she didn't like that we were actually doing well. Will make course harder. Exams used honorlock and although paused a lot, no curve/backtracking. Not helpful on piazza either. Looks down and doesn't care about us.

Her exams are doable if you just study the review. Make sure you know how to do everything on the review if you want a good grade. I would say that the lectures are too short and not much information is explained in details, definitely have to read a lot by yourself. She's accessible outside of the class though. I can tell she tries to help.

HW based on material she doesn't include in lectures, and can't solve from her guides or textbook. Lectures, textbook, & HW don't prepare you for her Honorlock exams. She disables backtracking, and claims that it's to not disadvantage people with bad WiFi, but based on previous reviews, it's more likely done to lower class' grades. Not recommended

My greats: Clearly understands the material and doesn't waste time. Her lectures are short, but rich in content. My issues: lack of clear participation guidelines and not showing she notices students' needs. 200+ students expected to answer student-based questions leading to "filler" questions and answers in fear of bad grade. Good choice.

for online, she kept her lectures short, which I appreciated, but included all of the information needed.
