Very spirited, loves what she teaches and makes you feel it! Very helpful, offers assistance when needed. Reading assignments are long (whole chapters before next class) but that's what's expected for college. Likes class participation, if you don't speak up, she won't go over the information. All in all, great teacher!
Interesting teacher. Very friendly and helpful. Gives quizzes the first class of the week. i.e. I have her Tues. and Thurs, so we quizzes are every Tues. morning. If you do bad on one or more, she offers extra credit such as visits to art galleries or watching a video. Reports are MLA format and you have a week to work on them. Fun class!
Tests were especially easy because of the study guide she hands out. Note taking will get you far in her class.
Awesome teacher, she is extremely helpful, and cares about her students. But only if they care about her class. If you come to class and pay attention you will get an A. Quiz every week, but its very basic over the reading she assigns like 4 questions. 2 essays, and 3 exams. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. she is extremely knowledgable.
Great teacher, she likes to talk alot but keeps it very interesting. Had her 8 am class so it was tough trying to stay awake in her class. You get a quiz every monday about the chapter you were suppose to have read over the weekend. Just read the chapter and learn the images and painters and her tests will be easy.
Do not take her. Quiz every week over reading a bunch of pages in the chapter. She just asks 4 questions and you have to come up with your own response. Tests are pretty hard, it's completely blank. 10 slides on images, vocab n essay questions. She also makes you do a 1500 word essay on whatever topic you want but isn't very clear on it.Not Helpful
Quiz every week to make sure you have completed the reading assignments. Tests are pretty forward, fill in the blank, short answer, map and essay. The study guide she provides covers everything on the test. This is not a high school class so be prepared to produce college level work.
Thought she was nice until I was in a horrible car accident in which my boyfriend almost bled to death.Asked her if there was any way i could make up the extra credit since i didnt have a car. Her response? " Well you can get to school cant you?"Also gave me a C after recieving nothing but B's and A's. She has selective niceness.
Great professor, Uses book for majority of teaching
This class was not what i expected. She is an overall good teacher but confusing. You have a quiz every week on a very long chapter,(she tries to cover 3 chapters in a week) her study guides are not like the test itself, you have to compete a 1500 word paper on no specific topic., and she doesnt give you the grade for your paper. Dont take her
Great Professor, pretty easy class. 3 Written Exams, on the 7/8 short stories you read leading up to the test. Easy to understand, loved her lectures. You definitely need the book. Very lenient teacher. Keep up with the assigned short stories & you'll be fine. Class time is just for lectures, you dont have to speak up, but people do, great class!!!
Horrible... completely boring and tends to go off topic... thinks she is funny but is not... unannounced quizzes based on the chapter.. wants you to read 1-2 chapters per class.. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
Not a great professor... quiz every week in class and expects you to read 3-4 chapters a week... doesn't really care if your taking other classes.. A large amt of reading is required in this class.. Tests are extremely hard and the study guide is just a bunch of words.. at least give us a better study guide.. DO NOT TAKE HER!!
Seriously don't take this professor. She doesn't understand that people have lives or other classes outside of her class. She doesn't respond to emails, doesn't care if students pass her class or not, and doesn't help students to pass her class. This is not a professor. Save yourself the stress and take a different teacher.
This teacher was absolutely awful. NEVER take her class if you can help it. She's rude and unhelpful. She assigns ridiculous amounts of reading and expects you to remember EVERYTHING once you get to class. She goes off topic and doesn't respond to e-mails. She's not clear on the assignments either. Yes, she can be tough and rude. She is there to teach. So, if you want to sleep, play on your laptop, or text during class, don't take her. Yes, she requires you to read and gives pop quizzes ALMOST every class, but she gives a ton of options for extra credit. I enjoyed her, I spoke with her personally if I missed. I'm taking her again!
This is a horrible professor. period. she doesn't give syllabus. she posts it online and doesn't even give a calendar to follow the class. she's rude and won't answer questions. she makes you read chapter after chapter and gives one paper but she won't let you use any facts out the book because she doesn't consider it a scholarly source. ridiculous
I'm telling you now, do NOT get this professor. My grades are normally A's and B's and I got a D in this class. I have done all of my assignments and my exams were high D's. She grades extremely hard. When it comes to her the student will NEVER be right. She is aweful and not helpful what so ever.

This professor is hard for those looking to be spoonfed an A. If you're fresh out of high school and still think college is playtime, you will not do well. I got a B with very minimal studying and missing 4-5 classes because she IS very detail oriented and goes over everything.

I found this class to be rather easy. The only way you would think the tests are hard is if your too lazy to study. On the tests you basically write down whatever you know about the term/image, a short essay, and map. Yes, there is reading involved, & pop quizzes, but that's over the reading. Gives plenty of extra credit. She is helpful.I got an A.
She doesn't explain the writing assignment until after she hands back your paper and you receive a not so good grade. I don't know if she can't count when it comes to word count on essays. I'd avoid her class too like some others said.

Great professor, really fun yet really difficult class. She makes it almost impossible to fail with tons of extra credit opprotunities, plus weekly quizzes, an essay, and homework. Overall a difficult class, but still very fun and very interesting. If you want to pass this class you gotta read the book!
Yes, you have to take a quiz about once a week but they are super easy. The only purpose they serve is to see if you read the assignment. All you have to do is read people and you will pass the quiz. Even if you are too lazy too read the few pages assigned the quiz will not count that much of the overall grade. Easy A with some effort.
She's a great teacher.. GO TO CLASS. TAKE NOTES. STUDY. Isn't this what's expected for any college level course? I didn't have to put in any more effort for her course than my others, but i DID study. She's awesome and you can actually learn a lot. Cute too :)
i had her for HUM2020 and it was a nightmare. there is a ton of reading that is not interesting at all. half the time she talks very vaguely about what shes teaching and just expects you to already know everything. AVOID at all cost. anyone is better than her
I'm still not sure if she simply hated teaching the class or what but this class was a living hell! Extensive reading, no weekly quizzes, tests are vague and papers are unclear,there is extra credit but she never tells you about it... you find it in your email three days after the fact. AVOID HER CLASS AT ALL COST!!!
I loved Dr. Morian's class, but it is not for you if you are unwilling to work for your grade. You do have to read the assignments and pay attention in order to do well. Dr. Morian is passionate about education, and willing to accommodate students who are willing to work. Fully recommend.
Dr.Morian puzzles me. There are days I LOVED her class and days I hated it. You have to read a LOT in this class. To the point where your eyes will be sore. Her tests are maps and essays. You HAVE to show up to class or you WILL fail. She wants you to take her class seriously. It's tough but not impossible. I probably wouldn't take her class again.
Dr. Morian knows exactly what she is teaching about and teaches it thoroughly and WELL. Simply READ what you are assigned, take notes,come to class. It's that simple. I love Lit so it is an enjoyable class for me, and she likes me because I show that I care and put in effort. It's NOT difficult, students only make it so when they don't try.
She is so sarcastic, she will make you look dumb in class if you haven't done the reading. DO NOT SKIP CLASS, quizzes pretty much every class. Overall, she is just mean.
She is a great professor, you just have to work hard and read the material. Its not the a gimme grade, but if you read the material, its easy. She is also responsive to her emails too, overall if you are looking for something really easy to fulfill your credits, this class is not for you.
If the majority of people don't read the homework, she will dismiss the class until you read the whole material, even if you were one of the students who read her homework; you will be punished too. It's unfair sometimes how she grades the class, she's passionate for what she does: I wouldn't recommend her if you are not committed to her classroom.
this was my worse class ever. quizzes every class and reading every class. long lectures and boring videos. doesnt post grades on black board so you wont know your grade until the end of the course.
Now, I have seem all the other post that other students have posted about Dr morian and I do not agree with any of it. Yes, you do have to read the book in order to pass her test, However, she is the best teacher and really does care for her students. Love the class and her as a teacher. Please ppl dont believe any of the other comments.
Prof Morian was a very passionate prof. She really loves what she teaches and cares about her students and their success. She provides study guides for the tests, which are easy if you pay attention in the first place. Take her.
Dr. Morian was one of the best professors that I have ever taken. I would not say that her class was easy or difficult, the best word to describe her class is challenging. That may sound bad, but think about it....we are in college, it shouldn't be easy. She has inspired me and Dr. Morian is one of the most intelligent people that I have ever met.
Do not take her. She is very vague on what to write on your assigments, and she will give you an score of 70 with no explanation on what you did wrong, which it was the class average. You will have the opportunity to re-do your work but dont expect an A unless she selected you as one of her A students, she will do that to balance the grades.
Professor Morian's class is great, but her grading is horrible. I really looked forward to the different international films. I tried so hard to make an A in this class, but she constantly gave everyone 70's on their essays. I even did ALL of the extra credit. I wouldn't take her again or recommend her to anyone. I made a B in the class.
You have to attend class or you will miss a lot! She's very knowledge and enthusiastic when she lectures. She gets exasperated when people don't seem to care. Take good notes and study, the tests are relatively easy if you do. Ample extra credit is offered. An effort is definitely required. Very open to discussions. Emails are answered promptly.
Overall I really liked this professor. She was passionate about the material, and really encouraged the classroom to get involved in the conversation. The only thing I really disliked was the way the class was graded. Only 3 tests and 1 paper are graded in this entire class, so all of the work that you submit outside of that doesn't feel important.
She is the Joan Jett of Humanities. Her passion for history turned my hate of history into pure interest. I would recommend her times a million.
I think this class changed my life. As a good student who read everything and studied hard, the tests were easy and I learned so much more than I could have imagined. I never knew I would enjoy it this much and now I have a love for surrealism and futurism that I plan to use in my graphic design major. Slackers won't get much out of this class.
Dr. Morian was really clear about the topic. I liked the way she graded her tests because the answers were showing her what you know. Basically to pass, read every material (quiz almost on everything) & just try to avoid getting annoyed with her because she will treat you like you're stupid... love her as a prof. NOT as a person.
It wasn't an easy class by any means, but Morian is very passionate about the subject she teaches. She shows lots of videos in class, which are very helpful You WILL have a LOT of reading and other homework to do, and there are a LOT of quizzes, with the occasional test. Do the reading and pay attention to the lectures and you should pass easily.

Excellent teacher. Every other class you have an easy quiz on hw. Its just a hw check. If you at least glance at the hw - you'll pass. Talk in class, she likes participation. She knows her stuff, she helps, she is easy if you at least give some effort. Tests are written, but cake if you study - focus on keywords.
Dr. Morian is an amazing professor. My advance to you is show up to class, read,read, read all assignments given and take lots of notes and do all extra credit work. She will help you and guide you where you need it most. I would diffidently recommend her class...
3 tests, 1 PowerPoint, and 1 essay. Overall it was a course that was solely based off of the readings you were assigned for homework. If you like talking, you'll love this class; it was almost like a Socratic seminar.
I think the only reason why I got an A' in this class is because I WORKED SO HARD FOR IT! So if you are one of those students who maybe is a parent or who is really busy with life and such, and you are not a big reader and studier THEN SERIOUSLY don't mess up your GPA by taking this class!!! Honestly you will have to STUDY HARD for her EXAMS!!!
She was really unclear on the work, and she took forever to respond to emails. And when she did respond she wasn't very helpful and didnt answer half of the question. She kind of seemed like she didnt know what she was doing when it came to online classes and the technical part of it.
SO BASICALLY this class WILL REQUIRE YOU TO WORK VERY HARD TO PASS!!!! I mean the TESTS ARE TOUGH and you have to study SUPER HARD in order to pass!! She gives a quiz like ever other class, and they are always based on your reading for the hw!! HW is pretty much A LOT! Don't come into this class without knowing what you're getting into. Lots of reading for homework and many quizzes on the readings. The reading assignments are taken down from Blackboard quickly so make sure you have a list if you want to re-read anything before the test. 2 tests, a group project & a research paper all due within the same week.
She's cool but she literally just talks the entire time (kinda boring). Assigned reading & quizzes weekly. She isn't good about responding to emails & very vague if she does. I tried really hard in her class and only got a C. Tests aren't too bad if you study. Research paper, powerpoint, and final exam all due in same week at the end. TOUGH.

Very boring lectures, reading assignments given almost every class and a quiz given the next class based on your readings. It shouldn't be too hard as long as you read the things she assigns. 3 major grades, a midterm, a final, and a PowerPoint that you must work in a pair with and presents on the last week.

Most of the work will be done from taking notes from your readings. Expect a pop quiz on the following day. LITERALLY a quiz on all your homework. Really difficult to get a grade above a C in this class. Don't be late or skip class because she will call you out and give you a zero if you missed a quiz. On the other hand, she does give extra credit.
While the class itself doesn't look to be too difficult, professor Morian made this easy class hard. For starters she doesn't believe in blackboard, so you literally have no idea what you have in the class until the end. Her exams were a huge chunk of the grade, and the study guides given to us didn't help much. I wouldn' take again to be honest.
You will have nightly reading which she is upfront about from the beginning. A quiz will follow on the readings. TAKE NOTES!!! Almost everything she says in class will be on the test. Paper due at the end, no surprises in this class. Give yourself a couple classes to get used to her, she is actually very and extremely understanding!
She is very passionate to the point where if you have an opposing view on the matter, you might wanna keep your mouth shut. She'll talk over you and it's not worth it. It was a pretty easy class however and I love the topic on women's rights. She definitely provided a safe space and she has pretty eyes.
I have never put rate my professor rating up ever but felt it needed to be done with Professor Morian, her teaching style is all over the place and not organized at all. She will have you reading 3 different books at once, and does not do a good job of making everything cohesive. I would not recommend her class.

I had Professor Morian for HUM2020 ; the class was very enjoyable and not easy or difficult. There's a bit of reading but the books are interesting, there was only 3 tests including a final (non-cumulative) and one 5 page essay that we got several weeks to do. Lectures look a LOT on architecture as well.

It took two months for her to post quiz/ test scores. Information included in the quiz but no longer in the book. She hardly ever responds to emails. Posts her assignments late which goes against her syllabus. She doesn't give any lectures you have to figure everything out yourself. 5-15 minute quiz weekly. Discussions turned into extra Credit.
The Professor means well and knows what she is talking about, but do not take this class unless you absolutely have to, or are great at this stuff. I dropped out after the first exam. I studied so hard was good at the map and five pillars but I could not do anything else on it for the life of me. It was such an unnecessary class for me to take.

Shes Hard but fair. She gives you pop quiz's at the start of class. ALWAYS be ready for them even if the website she gave you didn't work. She defiantly leans to the left, but her political views aren't that much of an issue. She can be really fun and helpful too.
I learned a lot from this class and don't regret taking it. The professor is fair with the work and gives a quiz in the beginning of each class (if you do the homework you'll be fine). She is clear with the criteria and the tests aren't too hard. Don't take this class if you're lazy.

she claims that you must do these readings in order to have a class discussion- meanwhile there is NEVER a discussion. All she does is reiterate the readings w/o bringing the conversation any deeper or including anyone but herself. She is also extremely rude, no matter how nicely you approach her, constant attitude. Professor Morian is an outstanding professor. She actually makes Humanities enjoyable. In her class I learned so much new information and gained a better understanding of events that happened here in America. I highly recommend her to any student who is looking for a great experience in humanities because she cares and knows the subject very well

She expects you to use a note taking template that she creates ( which sucks ) and never helped me understand the material because I was too focused on formatting my notes. I passed but her class was boring and mainly just about women and their history, i should have read the ratings and i would've steered away from her class. Her tests are not even multiple choice and she makes you write short answers and a whole essay, and makes you watch long films every night, wouldn't recommend . didn't know grade until end.
Shell ask you a question then interrupt you answering her question. Shes kinda rude but seems to enjoy the subject shes teaching. Youll have a lot of reading and movie watching in this class for homework. Overall shes not the worst, but you definitely need some patience to take this class.
Not particularly happy with how much homework was given. There was a ton of reading and videos so long, it made me wonder if the professor knew we had lives outside of the classroom. The lectures also tended to go over the time limit for the class and the professor also sounded a bit sarcastic when answering student's questions.
So mad. She makes you do a 5+ page paper. I picked a topic I was very passionate about & worked very hard on this paper. She never graded it, which I find COMPLETELY ridiculous. Her lectures are okay, but shes gives a lot of movies & busy work for hw. She also didnt grade anything she assigned the last 8 weeks of class. Dont take this class.

I don't understand why this professor has so many bad reviews, she is literally one of the best teachers. Yes, the homework can be a bit overwhelming at times, but she is very understanding. Her lectures are great, and any questions that you have she will answer. The class challenged me in a good way, and she also gives great advice! :)
Professor Morian has so much passion in humanities and gives great lectures. She wants to you to do well by critical thinking on your homework assignments to tell your thoughts in lectures or on your essays. Also, extra credit she allows in a blessing to improve your grades.
This professor does not interact with her students. She has you watch 2-4 hour videos every week with weekly discussions that don't count towards anything. 4 question multiple answer quizzes, miss one question highest grade is a C. Quizzes graded automatically but she manual grades exams, why is that? You see the reviews, SERIOUSLY BEWARE!!!!

You will never be as passionate as her about women's rights. Get ready to take notes. I mean really take notes or you will not pass. There is a quiz every week and there are 3 tests that are broken up into 3 overall sections in the semester. The class is informative but you will spend ALOT of time on this class.
This professor lectures for hours and won't let you snack during the class. The quizzes and tests are only 4 questions and you have to study hours worth of online videos. It is exhausting spending hours taking pages of notes and barely passing quizzes because there was way too much material. Highly suggest finding a better class.
Because of administrative errors, I wasn't enrolled until 2 weeks after the class had started, she failed me for the assignments I wasn't enrolled for. She asked about and criticized students' assignments in front of the entire class. Most classes (I attended all after I was enrolled) were spent looking at her travel pictures. Very condescending.

She made us buy a book that we didnt even use in the class. She came up with her own curriculum and the quizzes and test had nothing to do with what she was talking about. Its like she wanted you to fail . She catches attitudes and is very unclear .
The class bought a book called African Americans and we havent even touched the book more than once . She creates her own stuff and makes it impossible to pass .. theres a difference between being a tough teacher and a teacher wanting you to fail, you can guess which one she is

Super engaged and really passionate about humanities! Do not take her if you don't like watching documentaries or taking notes because that's a huge must or you will fail-plan on discussions as well. I loved her class but a lot of students slacked off and the discussions were meaningless. Plus, she gives lots of extra-credit like service and voting
Missed a quiz, emailed her about a retake, three weeks later I finally hear back from her "retake information is posted in the syllabus." Read the syllabus "No retakes. Like, why Writing this in the middle of a quiz I'm about to fail because the homework files for the quiz are no where to be found. Emailed her about it, guess how it went.

I've asked for help and all she said was to continue doing my work and do an essay then try to talk to her. She talks to you very rudely and as if you are slow when you try to seek help ( I've tried multiple times). We used the book she made us purchase TWICE, just money down the drain. The textbook was mandatory, but I only opened it twice during the semester. She says it is necessary, but not really. My many emails to her were never clearly answered. She came up with quiz questions that had nothing to do with the readings. Do not bother doing the discussion boards. They are not worth any points. I would not recommend her.
Today was my first day and I waiting for her to come by and apparently she changed the room number without a notifying us and then said "you should of double checked" also 4 questions worth a 100 points if you miss one thats a 75% . Imagine if you get them all wrong then you fail. Not worth it. 0/10
Dude, I did a total of 10 pages of notes, read and analyzed every possible thing of what she assigned, and analyzed each video she put on and assigned: How am I still getting 50/100 s? Oh wait, it is because she puts a 4 question quiz signaling little/no actual relevance to the main point of the topic... And I know I am responsible cuz I get A's.
Took her class as a dual enrollment senior. This is my first ever Humanities class and I am completely lost. Class averages on quizzes are ALL failing grades due to them only being 4 questions on specific details, and you only get ONE TIMED ATTEMPT. You are basically teaching yourself and I didn't find this out until halfway through the course.
Professor Morian is very passionate about women's rights and the information itself is interesting, but she was not the best professor. She was rude when I asked questions and treated us like we were in 6th grade (had us make nametags for our desks, threatened to take laptops). She was also a mask nazi and bombarded you as soon as you walked in.
The worst teacher I've ever had since high school. Absolutely no communication with students didn't even answer emails. She was very unprepared with study guides, which didn't help with the 100-point exams. It's like she sets students up for failure. DO NOT take this woman's class unless you're willing to deal with an unpleasant, unhelpful teacher.
This professor has done nothing but treat me like I am a sixth grader who is incapable of learning. She answers professional emails with one word sentences. I am a student who has consistently made the president and dean's list and this teacher makes school a living he**.
The information itself and the textbook are wonderful. However the professor is not helpful and refuses to clarify or answers with one sentence responses. The Study Guides are massive and broad, so are the tests.
This class would be amazing with a different professor. The study guides and tests are massive. Essay format and only one attempt. The professor does not like to answer questions and rushes through the material. I was a straight A student until this class.
This is a self-taught class. She does not teach anything/provide reviews. Be prepared to watch multiple hour-long videos each week. Quizzes are short, hard, and don't make sense. Quzzies contain multiple choice/select all that apply questions. She doesn't give you the answers/review the questions you miss. Studied the same material in AH & got an A
This is the ABSOLUTE WORST teacher I have EVER had. Literally, no help whatsoever for anything. Deleted the course off Canvas before we even got our final grades. The final essay directions had.Tried calling, no answer, no call back. Went to her "office" during her office hours, not there. Emailed, no answer.
I am currently taking Professor Morian's class via online, and she is one of the most UNhelpful professors EVER. She pushes all of these videos on you and expects you to gather enough information to answer vague 5 question quizzes. Not only that, but study guides make zero sense, and she responds to emails with single sentences. Do not recommend...

It seems like Prof. Morian has faced some sort of trauma in life (i.e., that's the only way I can explain her "teaching style"). She pushed a lot of inappropriate pornographic materials in this course. She also spent most of the course bashing males. (Unfortunately, I did not feel safe reporting her to the administration.) Her course was awful!
