Honestly this teacher sucks!! She takes off little points on everything. Her exam had nothing to do with the review. Her exam also counted as 200 freakin points!! Do not take this woman unless you don't want a good grade!!
Horrible teacher. You will not learn anything from this class unless you teach yourself. Her exam questions were ridiculous. She doesn't care what the students get in the class and the worst grader ever! DO NOT TAKE HER!!
I don't know where the other comments are coming from. She cares and helps with anything you need. She doesn't really give many assignments so you need to do well on the exams, but her notes and exam reviews are very clear and she usually sells her powerpoints in the bookstore. Great teacher.
She is not interested in helping her students and acts as if it is a burden to do her job.
Took her online summer course. I enjoyed her class even though it was not easy (and she does take points off for little tiny details.) She was helpful and all expectations were clearly stated. Modules consist of lecture, assigned readings, homework questions, and a quiz. More than one module per week
Dr. M is a fantastic professor. She teaches mostly upperlevel classes which requires work. The other posting about her not caring is more like, not wanting to spoon-feed students who think this is still high school. She is always there for you and everything is informatively posted in her modules, coursehome, discussion board, etc. Def take her!
I loved this class! You learn alot!I was two points away from an A and she rounded my grade up to an A.I am taking her again!
took this class online, she is very nice and the class is stright forward. she gives extra credit, but ta's do all the grading. as long as you do the small amounts of reading you will do fine on the tests. good class, i recommend it!
This is an EASY class if you keep up with the work. Do the readings, especially the research articles, and you'll do fine. The concepts are easy and the information is pretty interesting. I loved the class and it was an easy A. **treat the homework assignments like tests, they're worth a LOT!
Very interesting topic! Great class! And Dr. M's TA's are awesome!
I loved her class. It was interesting and not too hard. It was an online class. There were 10 quizzes and 1 exam. There is homework, but it is not hard. I highly reccomend this professor!
I really liked her a lot. I had her for a online class. I thought she was very helpful. She gives you a whole bunch of little quizzes through out the semester instead of a a few big ones. Ther eis a lot of reading. You have to read 2 pretty average size books and review them. Over all the class was very interesting. I really enjoyed it.
Very helpful & makes course interesting. A lot of reading, but it is all worth it. The course is easy, yet educational. I would take her again!
Clear, Easy!, fair, and helpful. Some opportunity for extra credit. The paper was on a book we needed for class, the book was ok but I thought the whole thing was a waste of time. The rest of the class was great though, and I learned a lot.
This professor is "iffy"... I took her class online and it was a lot of work. Not to mention her T.A. handled all the emails poorly. She makes you read this really crappy and biased book about Forensic Psych and write a review. IF she likes your opinion you'll get a good grade on it. If I had to do it over again I probably wouldn't take her
I don't know what the last person is talking about. Dr. M's TAs are fantastic! Answer emails quickly and are wonderful! The class was very interesting. It is challenging, but that's what you should expect from an upper level course!
I've had Dr. M for Legal Aspects and Forensic Psych. She is awesome! Very organized, you always know what to expect. However SOME of the TA's were horrible, whether it was grading or just responding to Simple questions. I got a high A, If you think you have a problem, go straight to Dr. M and politely present your "case" to her-- She'll fix it.
Shes a great instructor, clear and fair. I've had her for both courses and she is very helpful. Pretty easy class. I'll agree that a couple of her TA's this semester were kinda icky, but others were good. If you have a problem like the last message said: take it to the teacher!
Great teacher. Grading is very fair. The book you read for the class is very interesting. Definitely recommend to others and I will take her again!
Great course! Very interesting topics, discussions, and texts! TAs have grades posted very quickly and give very specific feedback on HW. Highly recommend this course!
I really enjoy this professor and have taken several of her classes. Uses TA'd for grading online classes. Gives extra credit. One issue that seems to come up: Doesn't list req. text with the main campus (so enjoy buying the books online at full price and not being able to sell them back for more then a dollar).
I'm currently taking her for Women's Mental Health and LOVE the class! The assignments and expectations are clear and not difficult to meet.
Gives WAY TOO much "required" reading. To the point where you can't learn the important material because you have too much going on. As previously mentioned she makes you read these bias books. If she does NOT like your opininions get ready for a bad grade. AND her questions for HW are not clear yet she wants very descriptive detailed answers
I like Dr.M, but I dislike her TA's and how she graded for the class.I agree with the person on the bottom on certain aspects. I loved Forensic Psychology until I took Dr. M oline for it. I think her TA's are horrible, and the grading scale is not too organized. The reading does not bother me.I just dislike the bad questions on the Homework unclear
Def. agree with below. Grading was way too stricked. Almost impossible to get a decent grade. And her questions are confusing. The TA's don't help at all. You ask them a quesiton, and they just say "read the material." That is their response, even when you tell them you don't understand the acutal "question." Prof. M too strick and too unrealistic
I LOVE her class. I learn a lot and the information was very clear. Readying came from her notes and it made it easy to take the quizzes. We did have to read two books and research paper on both. It went by quickly. Homework question came from the lecture notes. No complain about this class.
(online) Best class I've had at UCF. Assignments are thought provoking and relevant and quizzes aren't difficult. Two book reviews are required, but they're interesting reading. Class is very well organized and professor and TAs are very helpful. Can't wait to take her again.
There are weekly Modules which consist of a discussion posting, reply, and quiz. There are also assignments with a number of them. These are not difficult, but take the 2 book reviews VERY seriously. Great professor who will respond to your emails :)
Took this class online. Very down to earth professor, very fair in grading. Hated this subject b4 this class, but I have learned so much that has changed my views on so many things. Wish I could take her in another subject! You HAVE to read the books assigned, book reviews are in depth however very interesting.
Very Helpful, Willing to work with students, overall it was a great class and she is a great teacher
Online. 2nd class with Dr. M. Her expectations are clear, and all classes are organized pretty much the same. Quiz info is easy to find in book and Module information. Discussions are not hard. Most effort goes into homework assignments which are graded a little tough, but doable. I got an A.
This teacher was so rude that I actually had trouble motivating myself to complete the online coursework. And this is coming from a GPA of 3.82. I asked her to fix a grade mistake and POW! I've NEVER been treated that rudely by any other Professor anywhere.
This professor never responded to emails! Her syllabus is unclear and grading is ridiculous! She has her TA's grading the homework...why? Don't bother trying to get in touch with her because she doesn't care enough to respond, much less in a timely fashion. You WILL be frustrated with this prof and class!
Online. She is a great professor and had great TA'S that answered all my emails very promptly. The class is presented in a simple manner. I recommend this professor. Her teaching habits are fair and equal.
This teacher is so rude never in my life i had a teacher act so rude like that. She takes for ever to email back and when she does email she rude with it..
Terrible teacher. I got an A in every class but hers! I got a C. She never responded to emails, and grades wayyyy too hard. She is *ALWAYS* right, so don't bother sticking up for answer by the book. Never even used the book after she made a big deal about not buying ebooks. WOULD NOT take her again.
Dr. Mottarella isn't as bad as people on here are saying she is. Great class and you'll learn A LOT. Weekly quiz (10 questions), Assignments which aren't difficult at all, small discussions here and there and a comprehesive final (50 quesitons) and gives extra credit :) Got an A and didn't have to bust my a** lol. Taking her again this semester!
Online. Had 2 papers on 2 books, weekly quizzes/discussions, and homework assignments every now and then. The books were interesting and enjoyable to read. Her class is very straightforward and not hard at all. The hardest thing was waiting around for stuff to be graded bc it took about a week or so. Overall an interesting and easy class!
She opens all the assignments when the class opens. Each assignment has a due date throughout the course however I completed all of the assingments in the first month and waited for the final. You have to read to novels as your "textbook" reading. Both are interesting so it's not bad. Really easy grader if you complete the assignments. Take her!
Love this professor! She is very clear as to the assignments and their due dates. I was very interested in this class before it started and the reading was very helpful for any student thinking about pursuing the psychology field. The homework was easy, weekly quizzes are timed but doable. The final exam was cumulative.Book is definitely needed
She is amazing, She's so nice, and is extremely prompt with emails. She's understanding, and a phenomenal professor, i highly recommend her. I had her for Legal Aspects of Psychology online and LOVE it.
I have taken Law and the Legal system and Forensic psychology with Dr. Mottarella. By far one of my favorite teachers at UCF, she is fair and crystal clear about how to proceed in both these online courses. Highly recommended!!! Interesting subject matter also!
Great professor and gives great information to psychology majors. Great lady and helps a lot.
This lady is nice!!! She is very helpful and answers to emails promptly!!! Easy class, got an A! I would recommend her!
Quizzes were based on Modules that you could print - very easy. Had to read 3 books to answer questions. Overall, a pretty low maintenance class. Professor is really sweet and available online too.
Easy class if you do the work, the tests are easy. Make sure you have copies of all the modules for the final! The books are great for this class too.
extremely tough grader, will tear up everything you submit.
She was a very helpful professor, she provided a ton of material to read, pdfs, studies, and the modules were jam packed with information. The books she required were extremely interesting. I emailed her with questions regarding general psychology questions and she was more than helpful. I recommend her for anything!
I took Dr. Mottarella for PSYCH CORNERSTONE CAREER PATHS. The class was very straight forward and easy. She was very helpful and her requirements are very clear. Just read the modules and chapters and take the module quizzes. She is seriously awesome.
EASY EASY EASY! Very clear on guidelines. Read modules, take quizzes. That is it! Easy A
I took her online for Psychology Cornerstone: Career Paths, and it was incredibly easy and straightforward. If you read the textbook and the modules online, you'll do great on all of the assignments. She gave plenty of time (sometimes two weeks or more) to complete each module, and you will learn the information even though the work is easy.
I took her for careers in psych (psych cornerstone) online. There were a lot of assignments but they weren't hard & it is an online class so that is expected. U will need the textbook but u don't have to read it from cover to cover. Gives opportunity for extra credit points but I didn't need it. The TAs grade. Good communication. Easy A
Since this is a mandatory class for Psych majors, it's a decent class. Quizzes online can be taken as many times as you need and aren't timed. Some online work, but it's guided to help you understand the major and requirements.
This class is very easy and has very useful information for the students majoring in Psychology. A few quizzes are given based on the module information, they are very easy and have an unlimited amount of tries. The Module information is wonderful has information on careers, degree info, graduate info, etc. I highly recommend this teacher and class
Very easy class. Helped me in every way. the class only has quizzes that are super easy and you can take multiple times till you get them all right. so there is no reason why you shouldn't get a 100%. professor Mottarella is very nice too! I had accidentally missed a quiz and she was nice enough to open it up for me to take :)
This was is very organized. You take a simple quiz every week, unlimited time and attempts. You have only one test which is the final and you can use your books and modules for any quizzes or test. She is a communicator and will email you promptly about any issues. This class is very educational and will give you all the knowledge needed to pass .
This was a great class. I have taken several class with Dr. Mottarella and would take more if I could. She is a great professor and very helpful.
I took Dr. M for Forensic it was awesome! The class was very interesting and you will learn a lot. There are about 7 modules, each has a short quiz. Homework is due once a month and there are no discussions. There are plenty of chances for extra credit, and no late homework or tests accepted. Study because TA's grade a little tough but acceptable.
Easy online class, most of the assignments are open for you as soon as class starts so you can do them way before deadline. The books are not essential but can be helpful. Unlimited attempts on almost everything except the final which is mostly just old questions from the old modules.
I took Pro. Mottarella last semester, and thought "things can only go up, right?" I was wrong. Didn't learn a darn thing. Didn't need to spend money on the books (all answers in modules). Not a single word of feedback from her or the TA. This is what I want to do w/ my life and I was so disappointed. Easy A in the most boring sense.
The course consists of 4 homework assignments, 4 short quizzes, and a final. Prof Mottarella provides opportunity for extra credit. Need 2 textbooks for Legal Aspects. Most of the material you use on assignments and quizzes is from the modules and a little from textbooks. Not an easy A. TAs take off around 2 points on assignments so do extra cred.
I had Dr. M for several classes and was never disappointed. I would highly recommend her. For those who rated her poorly and said she was a tough grader, or would "tear up" anything they wrote, perhaps were not college-ready. She grades fairly, as expected from a college professor. I always learned a lot. Would take her again if I could!
I really found this course to be very simple and didn't need all too much contact with the professor - however, when I did, she was very kind and clear with what needed to be done!
Dr. M was very clear on what she expected for her course. It was very direct, to the point, and simple. The class was very easy but also very informational. She is a fair grader. I would recommend her for this course.
Professor Mottarella's class was very easy. Quizzes every week and a written assignment usually every other week. My only complaint with her is she never responds to emails. I'm still waiting on a response from an email I sent her a month ago.
Quite an easy class and she really seems to care about her students. Easy assignments and good organization. Nothing to complain about.
Professor Karen was great. Even though her TA was in charge of grading our assignments we turned it. We have a chapter quiz due weekly and written assignments. Read the book it will help you understand the course better. Do the extra credit if you need too. Overall, the class is easy just do your homework. The final exam is online of course.
This is a S/U course so not that intensive. The course is designed to help you prepare for psychology degree careers. The course is clear and simple to follow. A quiz every week and a few writing assignments that don't take too long. Don't skip through the material in this class because you can learn a lot of information that is to your benefit.
This particular online class had very little interaction with the teacher she sent out mass emails like 3 times in the semester and that was about it. The course was very easy, if I had questions or concerns I went to my TA who was awesome so over all if you want to take this teacher for cornerstone easy class not sure how she teaches overall.
I cannot say much about the professor herself because I have not interacted with her much. Shelby Collins; however, who was my TA during the course was very helpful and diligent during her work. The class is not difficult and it is very informative. It will help you to get the information you need to succeed in the field of Psychology.
The class is not really too difficult. There's quizzes for each module and a comprehensive final. But as long as you go over the modules and read the chapters in the textbook, you'll do fine. The information in the class is very helpful for psychology majors.
This was a pretty easy class and really informative for psych majors. Answers for tests and quizzes could all be found in the modules, textbook, and online if needed. None of the tests or quizzes were timed which helped! Never needed to get in contact with the teacher for any additional clarification or questions since the class was set up nicely.
This course is the Psychology Capstone course for Seniors. There are quizzes and written assignments. Extra Credit is also available. This is an S/U course. You can work ahead if you have time. It is not a difficult course if you stay on top of the assignments. I would take again.
This has been one of the easiest but informational class I have ever taken. There are a few quizzes but the questions come out of the modules and the quizzes are normally less than 10 questions. The Final is 50 questions but again she provides a module for you to study. There are a few easy papers and she has you make a resume which is helpful.
Probably an easy class no matter who you take it with but she makes the course pretty clear. You can work ahead on anything which is helpful. Textbook is definitely not needed. She also uses a LOT of TAs so if you're looking to TA for someone, she is a good one.
Dr. Mottarella was pretty good! All quizzes, including a final exam, are untimed. We also have to do two-three projects that were pieces of cake. I rarely contact her, but I did get help from Alicia, one of her teaching assistants. Overall, Good job! :)
Reading from Online module takes about 10-15 mins a week then short 8-10 question quiz for most modules (1-5, 7-8). Only 2 big but easy projects (write a resume and make a goal list), overall, a very easy A. I would definitely recommend this professor to anyone with a busy schedule or a job that requires a lot of time. Having the book is helpful.
Pretty easy class, you get either grade: S or U. 1 Assignment 2 Part project (not hard) 4 Quizzes (including 1 syllabus) 1 Final Definitely recommend!
Super easy class! The book required is super helpful as well especially for students that are unsure of what they want to major in, what they want to do as a career and helps with creating a good resume. Quizzes can be done early but assignments arent opened until the week its actually due.
Quiz answers are found online. I finished the whole class the first couple weeks of the semester because all the assignments are open. 1 resume project that is a little time consuming but other than that, I sometimes forgot I was even enrolled in the course.
I have taken this woman for two online classes and have never spoken to her. Emailed her no response. The career readiness courses 1-2 both are a complete waste of time and I hope UCF gets rid of them. I wanted to learn how to improve myself as a professional but this course was completely not helpful and a waste. This lady is also rude.
Very good, well-organized class. Do the work and you'll be fine. It's not overwhelming at all.
Super easy class, don't need the book, the quizzes are found directly in the lecture material, just follow the instructions carefully and you'll do great. This is a pass/fail class.
I took this class online, was very easy career readiness 1 class. Many answers online, so the book was NOT NEEDED, except for the FINAL EXAM. But the final was more common sense I still passed it.
The class is made to help you. So it was a super easy class, all the answers are literally in the modules. Look out for the resume assignment though. I didn't realize how big of a grade it was and how it would be graded. It dropped me down by about 35%. The professor wasn't looking to fail anyone based on one assignment though so she curved to a P
This class was effortless and a huge help to improving my professionalism as well resume.
My second favorite class along with her class PSY2023. Extremely helpful, gives awesome feedback and I thoroughly enjoyed learning ways to improve my resume and interviewing experiences.
Dr. Mottarella turns a course that many students may think is a useless requirement and makes it a valuable for your professional development. You could speed through most of the course, but it would be a waste to do that. It has lots of valuable information and Dr. Mottarella is a very caring resource and wants to help you succeed beyond the class
Info could be found in career book. One must pass mandatory exist quizzes. If you get below 70 you are required to do an extra assignment. Quizzes are strangely worded and quizzes are harder than they need to be this is an exit course. Too much time and effort for what it is.
I did not take her in person, so I am unfamiliar with how she is. Her online class is mediocre--I just feel like homework assignments tend to spring up on you out of nowhere, but that's like most online classes.
I took her for psy3024 EASY ONLIEN CLASS all quizzes are open you can get ahead if you'd like would take again
Really easy online class for psych major. It's like those high school career classes. Not even sure if there's a textbook, if there is I never used it. Take notes on the modules or just have the info on hand and the quizzes basically answer themselves.
This class was the easiest A. You can skip ahead and work how you would like which I really appreciated because I could do things within my own time. Class just consisted of quizzes based on the module readings and a very little project that took me the least amount of effort. Professor is really fair on grading as well. Overall would recommend!
Took for Career readiness ! and will be taking for career readiness 2. A bit of a tough grader on written assignment. However got a B in the course. No discussions , and 2 quizzes a month. Pretty simple busy work
Very easy class, just pass or fail. The assignments are not hard, but there's only a few of them so you have to do them all to pass.
Fun and Easy A! The assignments pertain to you and are really geared toward helping you in real life. I would definetly recommend this professor if you need an easy, manageable, online class. This was the second time I took her because she just does and awesome job and wants to help you succeed. Highly recommend her!!
Professor Mottarella is one of the few professors I've encountered at UCF that actually cares about her students. She gives feedback and is always informing students about important things. If ever given the choice between her and a different professor, choose her!
The class was super easy and was online. With many assignments, you can go ahead and complete them. The final was easy as well. This class is graded by S/U and is only worth 2 credits.
The class had more interaction and helped with the job process more than the first class. I loved the feedback and I will defintely be using it for future interviews. There's no final and it is a S/U class.
This professor relies too much on the use of her TA's. You have zero interaction with her unless YOU reach out to her or you make a comment to a TA about a disagreement with a grade. Even then it seemed she was too proud to admit her TA was not all that accurate when it came to grades and didn't change anything (even when HER feedback was positive)
Easy A
The course is very easy & the information learned is useful. The professor is kind of nit picker. You can do the entire assignment, perfectly, but if you mess up on submitting, it earns you a ZERO, not even partial credit. She also relies on her TA's too much & if you question a grade, she will tell you that you need to learn to accept criticism.
Clear assignments. I would not take again. Was graded a 55 out of 85 on my resume just because they thought my goals would be to difficult to achieve before graduation. I do not think that anyone can tell you what you can or cannot achieve. Because of this my grade went down a whole letter grade.
The pros are quizzes are short and straight to the point, and there isnt a ton of work. But the cons are bad. the professor and TAs are extremely harsh on grading, and theres only one high stakes assignment, so itll bring you down one to two whole letter grades. Im an A student yet still got a D on the only big assignment.
Was very nice. Helped me out when I submitted the wrong document and the zero could have failed me. Easy class (career prep). Responded fairly quick to emails.
Pros, most of the course work is available right away. Cons the professors ta's grade like they are professors. The grading is extremely harsh for the type of course this is. Unfortunately there is not many options for alt professors because this course is needed for your degree. Extremely disappointed.
This was an easy A, but the professor definitely relied too much on her TAs and the grading seemed very subjective. I guess just be careful with everything you turn in (double check, play it safe) bc she was hard to reach and TAs definitely don't care about you like that. The course was kind of helpful with "life" stuff if you actually read it.
This professor is just a high school teacher. Relies heavily on TA's, which grade very subjectively and talk to you like you are 12 years old. The actual content of the class is useful if you don't really know what path you want to take in psychology. But, overall, the class is made to be harder than it needs to be.
Basically her TA's will take points off your assignments if they simply don't like what you wrote. Class is hard, you need to get a 70% or more on quizzes to pass if not you do another assignment. Not a lot of work, just a lot of quizzes and unclear grading.
Professor Mottarella was a decent professor, there wasn't much for her to do because the class is all on the PsychologyCareerPrep. So she just grades the assignments and gives an "S" or "U" grade based on them. The course is mostly made up of quizzes for each module, 2 easy assignments, and one cumulative final. Super easy and informative course
The class is all on PsychologyCareerPrep. Your grade will be S or U. You only have quizzes for each module, 2 assignments, and 1 final. Tough grader so try hard on her assignments, but she does rely too much on her interns. Information is pretty interesting and useful.
I found this class informative and really helpful. Very few assignments and easy quizzes. Some of what is in each module is common sense but I did learn a lot. On assignments I was extremely detailed and only had points taken off of one of them, for something super minor. I liked that I could pretty much work at my own pace.
Easy passing grade either S or U. Mandatory $150 code that is used for Career readiness 1 and 2 and the final capstone project. Great class for resume writing and cover letter experience. The instructor emails a lot, TA's just grade the work. Overall not a bad class, after all she is the only professor at UCF that teaches these courses.
This class is just alright. You get lots of helpful career info, but not a ton else. TA's do all of the grading. Sometimes you get points taken off for things that weren't specified in a rubric, so that can be a bit frustrating sometimes. Other than that I have no complaints.
Capstone is exactly the same as the other two psych career readiness. A number of similar projects on STAR, resumes, and cover letters. Super easy and such a waste of time. Takes forever to grade.
Easy pass class. Online textbook was expensive but good for all 3 courses needed. Would highly recommend taking as a summer course.
Honestly I felt like this class was useless. Hoping next semester is a little more in depth. I barely got any bit of communication from Dr. Mottarella, but the class was an easy pass.
The purpose of this course is to make sure that psychology majors are informed about the field in order to make sure it is meant for them. Being in this class taught me a lot about psych and Dr. Mottarella was super nice and understanding and made sure to clarify everything. The class is very easy but it does a good job informing you about psych.
She is an easy grader. She has simple assignments and quizzes. It is a pass of fail class, but it truly did help me think about my pschology options.
Grades consisted of 4 assignments, 4 quizzes, and a final exam. There are also 2 extra credit opportunities. The assignments are simple; read assigned texts and answer questions. However, if you forget to add one little detail, you could lose a point. Dr. Mottarella responds quickly to emails and questions. The class was pretty straightforward.
Really easy class. Just follow the instructions and do the psychology career prep. She sends an insane amount of emails and announcements which is kind of aggravating but whatever.
Very easy class. All assignments are done through a diff website and you come back to canvas to take tests. Only problem I had was the "Resume project" it was graded so harsh and dropped my grade nearly 10 points. Everything else is very easy and basically common sense. Sad it's a S/U class but easy to pass.
Easy class, easy professor. All the answers are in the short modules and it's graded Pass/Fail, Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory. Easy, easy-- no worries on this one.
She made an easy class with surface level google material so stressful. Tried my hardest in this class, got nearly 100 on every assignment and I currently have a C because I wasn't able to submit my first assignment due to MacBook issues. Her TA told me maybe I shouldn't wait the day of to submit. I work 40 hours a week & we're in a pandemic..
Took this Spring 2021 online. Very easy, easy A. You can complete this course easily. Quizlet is helpful. You just have to read a short page (it varies) for each chapter, there are 8, and take a quiz for each. there are like 3 times you have to answer a question based on what you learned. only have to write a few sentences. I would fr recommend it.
The EASIEST class I have ever taken. I thought I was missing assignments or some type of grading criteria because this class was a breeze. There's MAYBE one assignment every other week, and it's like one paragraph from a prompt. Super easy, don't worry about using this to boost your credits per semester, just do it. You'll be fine.
easiest class ever. i literally went through and completed all class work during the first week of the semester. just read a couple pages and then answer questions and take a quiz for the modules. no complaints here.
This class is basically about preparing you for your field and teaching you how to write resumes and cover letters and other other aspects of your future. Helps prepare you for your field, and Dr. Mottarella gives great feedback and gives us great resources to make sure we pass the class.
Was an offsite website psychologycareerprep that you had to pay for but once you paid for it it worked for all the psychology career prep and capstone i had to take. I took her for all of the courses and she was pleasant. Was helpful when I accidentally turned in a different class' assignment and helped me still get credit after late submission.
Basic knowledge course, TA grades everything. Work program is $150, but you'll use it for other classes if you stick to the psych major.
Not that many assignments. Very easy class
Module quiz due every Friday but super easy and you can use your resources. Random assignments every once in a while but those are easy. One test and it's the final. No textbook reading but you need $150 PsychCareerPrep code which is also used for Psych Careers 2 and Psych Capstone but it's a one-time purchase for all 3 together. Overall, easy A.
The class was easy. You do have to purchase a $150 access to the website the class uses, but it'll also give you access to future classes you'll have to take. There's module quizzes every week, but they're based off quizzes on the website, so you'll do fine as long as you do those. You'll get a satisfactory or unsatisfactory grade.
This is the career readiness class, so there are many students in the online setting. This means that assignments are graded by TAs, same with feedback. I did not have an issue with the TA I was assigned, but some reported being graded unfairly and without explanation. I had a positive experience with this professor. This class was asynchronous.
The career readiness course is super easy, I never had an issue with any of the tests or assignments. she makes the course easy to follow. I liked her so much that im taking two more of her courses during summer lol 10/10 recommend taking her
Dr. Mottarella is one of the nicest professors I've had! She responds quickly and helps in anyway she can. Every assignment was through PsychologyCareerPrep and some tests were on web courses. It was an easy class.
This class isn't demanding at all the toughest part is the resume which you need to create. Whole class is thru a 3rd party website and you read their material and do their assignments. Overall the professor doesn't have much of an impact on the class. If you can take this in a faster 6 week course I would recommend.
Dr. Mottarella was really nice and helpful. The class was easy and the course that is purchased is also for CR2 and capstone. If you really wanted to you could finish all the assignments in a few days. The TA's she chose were also great and gave good feedback on assignments.
Refused to give me extended time on an assignment for a medical procedure that I provided documentation for. Asked for like 2-3 extra days so I could recover and, while all of my other professors said yes, she said no. The class is easy, so take it, just don't have any medical emergencies that semester I guess.
she was not helpful, and let Tas grade every assignment. failed half the class on the first assignment and then told us she wouldn't give us a rubric because what she wanted was in the question.(eventually did but this was not needed) Very rude. The only professor I've had that doesn't seem to want to help students pass. will never take her again.
This was the third time I've taken her and I have no regrets. The class was pretty difficult so you have to be willing to actually put in work for your grade. She does offer a lot of extra credit and is willing to help if you email her. I have to take her again for another class but I'm looking forward to it.
Very easy professor. One assignment every couple of weeks. Easy A
Content and assignments are easy. Assignments are done through an external site (PsychologyCareerPrep) that you have to pay $150 for, but you use the program for CR2 and capstone. Grades consist of a short quiz and assignment each week. You could finish the course in advance if you wanted. Dr. Mottarella was helpful providing additional resources.
Easy, peasy class. Professor sends out reminders for assignments, but everything is opened at the beginning of the semester. Tbh, you can complete everything for the class in the first week of class (which I almost did!).
She opens the entire course at the beginning of the semester. This course is so easy, I literally finished the entirety of the work within the first week of school. Super easy course, easy professor, she sends emails for each assignment so you know you are on track.
Easy straight forward class. Prep quizzes for every quiz. No book but you have to read the material provided by the course.
As long as you do your assignments it is an easy A.
This is literally the easiest class I've ever taken. All of the assignments are open, so you can definitely work ahead and finish it all in a week or two. All assignments are simple and easy. Final exam was 50 questions, not proctored or timed. Just do the work and you'll be perfectly fine!
Simple and straight to the point. The professor was super helpful with any questions you asked and wants you to succeed with as much ease as possible.
Easy online system for completing the course. It is an easy A if you just complete the work and go through the modules.
Very easy class with manageable coursework! Just read through the modules and you'll do well. This class is also designed to prepare students for getting a job in Psychology so the content is super important.
Graded every week on module assignment and module quiz. End of semester project was to write an aspirational resume. Assignments and quizzes are easy as long as you read the text. Do not have to buy textbook but have to buy PsychologyCareerPrep where all reading and assignments are for the class. Highly recommend, easy a.
Easy A. Information that you'll actually use and look back on in the future. Very good career planning course with personal goals!
All the lessons and assignments are through an external website, except for the short module quizzes on canvas. Incredibly easy class with everything open. Lessons are short and concise. Same with assignments. I was able to complete everything in about a week. Very informative, you learn a lot about different psych career pathways in this class.
I took Professor Mottarella for PSY3024 last semester, and this class is literally the same exact thing. I personally wish we didn't have to waste time and take these career readiness courses especially since they don't go towards our gpa. But overall she's a nice professor and its a VERY simple class, and her TA's were great as well!
I've taken Professor Mottarella for a few classes because she is a must for the psychology major. This class was so interesting and easy to learn. The only thing I didn't love was that the assignments weren't graded quickly.
All assignments are done online and very easy. You can also work ahead. Not much interaction with the professor but the TA helped when needed.
This was the only section offered, but it was fine. Mottarella sends out reminders when work is due. The TAs provide very helpful feedback. Course access was $150 but for 3 courses. Quizzes & reflection questions per module, resume assignment (and revisement), and a final exam. Very easy and not time-consuming, just be aware of deadlines.
I LOVE Dr. Mottarella. She's highly knowledgeable about psychology careers and was incredibly supportive outside of class when I was stressed about choosing a career path. She truly cares about her students and responds quickly to emails. I didn't interact much with her TAs. I plan to take her classes again.
This is a very easy class, and you can easily finish it in a day if you want. The professor cares about students. The textbook is expensive, but it's for three required psychology classes and you don't need to repurchase it.
Very manageable class and coursework, clear instructions on assignments and accessible outside of class. I've had her for 2 semesters now and I'll be a TA of hers within the upcoming months. Great professor!
Dr. Mottarella sends out helpful info & reminders w/ clear expectations. Course is easy P/F to promote exploration & planning for education & career. It's self-taught, self-paced, & easy to complete ahead of schedule. Assignments are to help YOU (e.g., revamp resume, understand career options & requirements, create goals, explore resources, etc.).
Both career readiness courses were easy. The assignments were kind of fun and I liked that everything was accessible through one website. My interactions with the professor were all negative though unfortunately. I was a new student at UCF and had questions that I guess she expected me to have the answer to. I felt belittled and embarrassed a lot
She sends out a lot of reminders, but is otherwise absent. I can't blame her, as she is the only one teaching these courses. The work is mostly busy work, not difficult, and not too time consuming. Easy class. My TA was very slow unfortunately. Definitely some good info in the modules that will be helpful through college.
Easy online class with minimal work. Professor Mottarella provides helpful reminders and resources. TAs can be slow, but the course content is straightforward. unstuck study proved useful for preparing for the open-book final exam.
Overall a great professor. The class is a little repetitive but an easy class none the less
The class isn't hard at all. Pretty easy honestly. Just do the work and you'll be fine. Good professor!
Easiest class I've ever taken. This prof gives great feedback and really wants you to succeed
Easy A, TAs grade most everything
Karen is a great teacher. Very easy. It is mostly small writing assignments and quizzes. There was a resume. Literally, that was the only hard part. There is a final but the quizzes help you to do well. Very good professor to take I'm taking her again in spring.
Good professor this class is basically just basic knowledge for any psychology major, many interesting things to learn about this degree and and with you can do with it. Assignments are due every 2 weeks. Only downside is that the grades are locked until the deadline is over, so its just a guessing game to know if you pass a quiz or not.
Very clear grading rubric, can get done with the whole class in a week if you grind. These are very easy quizzes that you can pull up another tab for them. Very open for communication and gives good feedback, lets you resubmit assignments.
Clear syllabus, and if you've taken Career Readiness 1 with her, you know how PCP works. No proctored exams, no midterm, just a final project that takes feedback from the other assignments and states what you've learned. Easy to communicate with. Grades do take a while to go in, but overall easy A
easy class. Everything is based on the online modules that you will complete. One assignment is doing your resume, which was nice. TA gave good feedback for mine.
Professor Mottarella was great! I appreciated that she sent announcements reminding students of due dates. Because so many students are taking this course, a lot of the grading and initial emailing must be done through her TAs. Class consisted of weekly assignments - the most complicated was an interview assignment but overall, coursework is simple
TA does all of the grading, simple work, but tough with grading/feedback at times.
Needed this credit for Career Readiness! The good news is that the grade is passed on satisfactory/unsatisfactory.
very good c
Class is mostly resume work, professor doesn't do much. The TAs grade you and they follow the rubric to a T (I miss-capitalized a word and lost 2 points). BUt this is a super easy class with an easy hands off professor. You doi get feedback on every assignment so that cool.
The professor is okay. Sometimes the TAs are annoying. I got points taken off for not including something that was clearly in my assignment. There's a video assignment that's like a mock job interview at the end so prepare for that. Most assignments are fairly simple. S/U grading system. Taken in Spring 2024.
Took her for Career Readiness 1 in for Psychology majors. She was pretty good. Nothing horrible or excellent to report. She's helpful and emails students about opportunities and resources. Honestly, the TAs are always worse than she is for grading. Assignments are all online and exam is open book/notes. S/U grading system. Taken in Fall 2023.
second time taking her. you literally have to put in zero effort to pass the class. graded on satisfactory/unsatisfactory. literally a quiz due every other week (its 10 questions, the last 4 questions are always the same on every test) you have to buy psych career prep, but its honestly so helpful. i will always recommend her
easy a. just make sure to complete the work on time
Assignments are all on PsychologyPrep. Weekly chapter readings & assignments are easy and straight to the point. Chapter tests are simple. It is an US/S grading-based course. Very easy class, clear grading feedback. Professor sends emails to remind students of workload. Would highly recommend this professor for this course!
This is the second time taking this teacher. Very simple class. There is reviews for the quizzes and you have cover letter, resume, interview videos, and other simple stuff. Im pretty sure the TA's graded my stuff but very simple class. Would recommend this professor.
I enjoyed the Career Readiness I course with Dr. Mottarella. I recommend that anyone else take this class! It was my first at UCF as well. I dealt with the TA more than the professor, but that was okay! Definitely recommend. No Honorlock, lockdown browser- just the psychology career prep that you will have to purchase. Go take the class!
Dr Mottarella was a wonderful professor. The class itself isn't hard as it is and she on top of that offered a lot of resources to us students like info on research projects and more.
i don't have a problem with her or technically this class, but i hate how assignments are due on friday and quizzes are due also on friday. like why not sunday god forbid
Easy class and info is actually helpful if you need guidance in your Psych major! 2 assignments due each Friday, usually just a one question assignment on psychologycareerprep and a quiz. Sometimes only one assignment per week! Final is a 50 question no time limit not proctored quiz on all other quizzes/material from semester.
