She is easy and works with you. Very nice and makes it fun.

Ms. Otto is extremely helpful and tries her best to help everyone get through the course. Just make sure you fulfill her requirements for each speech. Otherwise, you'll geet a much lower grade. I wouldn't take anyone else for speech! Professor Otto rocks!

I really enjoyed her class. She is not the easiest teacher though. She is strict when it comes to her attendance and grading policy. Fun class if you enjoy working with other people and if you dont have a probelm with giving speeches and doing a little bit of research.

I always dreaded speaking in front of people, but her class really helped me get over that. I got good grades on all my speeches and was even picked to speak in the Speech Showcase. She is very helpful and tells you exactly what she expects. She wants you to succeed. She even gives her own speeches as an example of what she wants.

Professor Otto is great! Of course I was not interested in taking this class at all but she made it as painless as could be possible. Also I am in the Navy and she was very flexible when it came to my schedule(of course I always gave her a heads ahead of time).

Wonderful teacher, extremely knowledgeable, and a proficent public speaker. Patience beyond years, good clarity in disscussing assignments, but very, very tough grader. If you work hard, and do your best, she'll give you a fair grade though. Be sure not to leave off ANY of her requirements tho, whoa, temper temper. lol But she's great, honest.

If you follow the speech guidelines you will do excellent on your speeches, & if you study the study guides for the tests you will do great on those as well! Mrs Otto is a lot of fun! It may be a horrible class, but she makes it fun and easy. She also makes you feel more comfortable with speaking in public!! She rocks!!!

This was an easy class, I never opened the book once, did my speeches the night before and skiped half the class and ended up with a B. Just pretend to care and she will give ya a good grade.

Not the easiest class in the world, but very managable. I recieved an A, but I had to work for it. This teacher has the ability to get you over your stage fright even though you won't really notice it. She tells you everything you need to know in order to get the hightest grade you can, so all you have to do is put forth the effort.

She's a great professor. The test are more examples so you have to know the material not just the meanings. They are hard no lie. Speeches are fun. You have to spend time on the b/c after the first speech, she grades you really hard. Fun class. Just be ready to do work.

She is an excelent teaxher. makes a freightning subject fun. she wants you to do well and will help you if you ask. anyone no matter how much experiance will learn something new.

I really enjoyed taking this class with Professor Ott. The exercises we did in class helped us to get over our fears of public speaking without even realizing it. That is what qualifies her as an excellent teacher. This was a hybrid class and the work was very well balanced. I highly recommend her if you need to take a Speech class.

good class. do not say uhm during your speeches. the assignments are easy so if you do them on time and dress appropriately then you will get an A. do everything just like how the examples say

She did a good job at trying to make it interesting and fun. Lots of busy work and reading. Tests make you use your critical thinking skills. Good personality - NO TOLERANCE FOR CLASSROOM DISRUPTION, ATTENDANCE / TARDINESS ISSUES, SLEEPING IN CLASS, CELL PHONES! NO MERCY!

I took her online class, there is work each week, but the work isn't that hard, and you can generally finish it in a hour or 2. She responds quickly to emails, I got an A in the class, but i was putting a good amount of effort into it. She's grades fairly easily as long as there's effort put forth. Basically, you can get an A as long as you try.

Great professor. Thought I was going to hate the course but ended up loving it. She made getting up and speaking in front of the class seem easy. She does expect you to do your part (reading, preparation, etc.), but if you make an effort you'll do well in the course.

She has this demeanor about her that seems standoffish and unfriendly, but she's actually a very nice person. She is there to help her students, but effort is required. Good teacher over all.

I didn't think I would be comfortable at all giving speeches but apparently it's not that bad. You give 4 speeches and take a few chapter tests. They're fairly easy and as long as you remember that no one cares if you mess up, you'll be fine.

Somewhat easy class. If you're shy, she will make you outgoing! You become so close to your classmates which is good since you speak in front of them all semester. Lots of speeches but somewhat easy. Easy grader. 3 test. 2 online one in person. I'd take her for speech if I were you.

Pub speaking never easy, but great teacher works and understands that everyone hates speaking infront of others. I took hybrid course so more speaches in short amount of time and quizes and discussion boards online. overall not easy but a very helpful teacher.

Professor Otto makes a public speaking class about as fun as it can be. At first its hard to get up on the platform and give a speech but as the class goes on if you really put in time and effort you will enjoy it. Her class is an easy A if you put effort into your speeches and participate in class.

She is a very good teacher. Her work is kind of busy work but it is very easy. Tests are not that difficult and they are taken on BlackBoard. She is not tough on her seech grades if you follow her simple instructions. Great teacher overall.

This class was very easy! There were only 4 online discussions, 3 easy speeches, and 3 ONLINE tests. if you need help with a speech, she will help you. You take the online tests on your own time, so its okay to use the textbook.

I was really nervous about this class, but it turned out to be one of my favorite! The speeches are really easy and she's very straight forward about what she expects. Only three big speeches and a few impromptu. Tests are open book. She really appreciates it if you email her and tell her you won't be in class.

Class is fun for awhile but become very boring after awhile, she always has games to play that incorporate the lesson. Only 3 tests, and 3 blackboard discussions, and 3 speeches.

This class is harder than you think. But she does help you and work with you on assignments and such. The test were online and kinda hard. However, you will do 4 speeches in front of the whole class but after the 1st or 2nd one everyone seemed relaxed with doing the speeches. and DO YOUR HW!

Professor Otto is an excellent Communications Professor. Her hybrid class is very organized and her expectations are clear, if you work hard, you'll do great! I really enjoyed Professor Otto and our class, it was fun, interesting, and you can learn how to give an effective speech in a given amount of time.

Class was okay, definitely had plenty of work, but most was not too difficult. She has only 4 speeches and most were easy topics. Rubrics are available before the due date, and she will grade straight from them. She gives great feedback though! Overall, pretty good.

Prof. Otto is a great teacher who gives you a full run-down of all assignments and expectations for speeches on the first week of class. You need an audience of 5 ppl for online speeches (3 total) if you can't find 5 ppl then do not take online. Take the discussion posts seriously as they make up almost half of your grade. Prof Otto is very nice! I didn't learn much. It was very organized but the prompts weren't always clear. Feedback on my speeches was minimal and more technical than related to speaking. Record your speeches and need 5 audience members each time. For an online class, finding time to meet up with 5 people is very difficult. Was not a fan of that.

I really enjoyed this class. She was a very easy grader. She responded to emails within hours. If you needed help she was always ready to help. There was a discussion every week but really simple and easy. Had three tests but again straight from the book. You will need the book. We always got out of class early and she gave out extra credit.

She is an amazing professor! 3 speeches but you choose the topic. Encouraged us to choose topics we are interested in. Made class fun. We play games that got us more comfortable with speaking in front of people. Answered emails within the hour. She is caring and helpful. This is a fun and easy class. TAKE THIS TEACHER! such an amazing class! She really cares. Her grading is clear. She is there to help if needed. She had us play games to get comfortable speaking to each other. Graded very well. No one is my class got below a B. You will want to show up to each class because of how fun they are! We always got out early.

I really enjoyed that the grading was very clear. You will find her discussions to be easy if you're naturally detailed with your work. I feel like she speaks a little too quickly when lecturing, it was difficult for me to understand. Overall, I found the class to be difficult, however It was really fun and I am glad I took it.

Really good professor if you need the third english class and it well worth it. Homework are not hard to do if you know what she's asking. Test are average but still have to read the book. Most important is the speech because it the most point in your grade if you do well on all your speech except one you will pass (Including test and homework)

Prof. Otto is great! 3 live speeches and 1 posted to the discussion board. She understands that we are apprehensive about public speaking and really tries to help you. You don't have to be an amazing speaker, if you try you will pass.

This class was my favorite class this semester, Ms. Otto is super kind and is willing to help you! Only 3 speeches, 3 tests, few discussions, which for the most part are easy, and extra credit given. Speeches are fun, you get to choose your own topic within the requirements. Definitely recommend this class!!

This is a self taught course. You will have to reach out to other classmates to get your req 5 live audience. I spoke with the professor twice this entire class. You will have many discussions and about 3-4 speeches. The class is pretty easy if you do your work. She seems to be touch on grading but then again not. It is hit or miss. Good luck.

Professor Otto is very clear with assignments. She always is very good at explaining what I need to fix. Her lectures are very helpful and always directly correlated to our assignments. The material was quite easy to understand in this class.

Professor Otto was a great teacher and set you up for success! Every Assignment she gave she gave you an example of what it should look like! She also gave rubics for everything! would recommend and would take again.

This class was among the most useful I have ever taken. The info and skills you learn will be useful in just about any job. The grading was fair, the assignments were explained well. The workload was kinda heavy, but I was taking an accelerated version of the class. This professor did an excellent job. The textbook was so good, I wanted to keep it.

This was one of my favorite classes this semester. I took the 7 week course expecting it to be a lot of work and it was the complete opposite. The work she gives is very easy. For speeches she usually gives you a guide/outline on how your speech should be which is very helpful.

I found Mrs. Karen really down to earth and great at feedback for our speeches. I was absent for two weeks on a trip but her 30 point EC really helped bring my grade back up. I do wish she wouldve verbally went over what was expected for our speeches as well as discussion boards that were due. It just resulted in missing points and surprise DBs.

Professor Otto is a kind, fun, and inspirational. Her feedback is honest, detailed, and impressively fast. The speech topics she assigns are relevant and reasonable—nothing overwhelming or “out there”. Public speaking has always been difficult for me, but she's a fair grader. Attendance is based on a point system, so just show up and participate.
