Made ecology bearable during the summer.
Great teacher. Lets you print out powerpoint notes before the lecture. Tests are directly from the powerpoints. Made A&P I a breeze. Recommended
fantastic teacher. she really knows her stuff, and makes learning the stuff actually interesting.
Are you guys kidding me?? Yeah, she gave us the powerpoints, but she never clearly explained anything. Somehow I got a B in the class and I learned absolutely nothing. The class is very hard, but I was so uninterested that I never studied or read the material, but I still did good. I don't recommend her class because it is so unbelievably boring!
I took her online class with the online lab. The second half of the lab notebook was very time consuming and her exams were hard, but I ended up with an A in the end since it was open book and your lab notebook was easy to do and counted for a lot.
She is very boring and her test are extreamly hard. I had to study two weeks just to get a A on one test
This class was fairly easy. If you read the powerpoints and show up for class you'll get an "A". As far as college classes go, this one was pretty mickey mouse.
Hard class... Lots of studying... Application tests... 4 pop extra credit quizzes... both classes require tons of time!!!
So BORRRRING!! Gives you the power points but is not clear at all...basically reads you the power points! Anatomy is not something you can just read and understand...THAT WHAT SHE'S FOR..TO EXPLAIN IT!! Managed a C...if you have to take this class...GOOD LUCK!
are you kidding?? this class was a breeze....you dont even need the book, just study the powerpoints. i really dont know how anyone could think this class is hard, maybe they just never attended it regularly.
I have to disagree with the person below. I think you do need your book because the power points dont always explain everything in detail. This class is not easy at all but you can pass with a good grade if you put in lots of time. She give tons of extra credit and drops the lowest test score if you take the final. Very sweet lady!
Pretty challenging. The tests were sometimes tricky but she does grade on a curve in a way. Study the notes and pay attention in LAB.. that's how I learned the information. She's the only A&P teacher so you really have no choice, but she's not that bad. The information is just a little boring at first.
Didn't ever use the book. Study the powerpoints. Never made an A on any tests but pulled an A in the class because of extra credit. If you are anything health science or biology related you'll make an easy A.
Good teacher although it was boring most of the time. Study her powerpoints and read the parts of the book that she actually covers, it helps. The questions on the exams are really general. No need to worry about getting a low grade if you miss a few bc she curves and gives extra credit. Study at least every other day, and you'll get an A in there.
I had her for zoology lab. She isn't a great teacher but one time we had a sub and she sucked so I appreciated her more after that. The class by itself is hard. The lab is easier than the class but still really hard.
She's really easy and her tests are very fair. She even gives back points if more than 1/2 the class missed a question.
The online ecology class is easy as far as the material itself goes, but the questions are very skewed on the quizzes and exams and the book (Essentials of Ecology) is extraordinarly leaning toward a borderline hippy take on the present situation on earth as far as global warming/greenhouse effect/etc. goes. An easy B, though.
HORRIBLE!!!! and i do mean it she couldnt even get her online class together she would lose assignments and towards the end of the semester she hadnt even graded half of the assaignments she is just ugh!!!
"Life is just a series of chemical reactions."- K. Pritchard AKA Philosopher Morbidity in a nutshell.
she is an amzaing teacher, if u want to know the material u need to go to class everyday
She is very nice. Her tests are pretty tough and she uses trick questions quite frequently. She takes forever to give back tests, which I didn't like. But overall she is WAY better than most teachers at UWF
I had her for A & P I, the most boring class of my college career. She reads off the notes, which are posted online. Attendance isn't necessary, and I walked out of that class not learning a thing. Received a B, her tests are pure memorisation.
her class was pretty easy if you just get the power point off line and study them because the tests come straight from the notes.
Barely available, and I found out that she was using the wrong textbook edition for some of the homework and quiz questions. Material was interesting and I don't doubt that she really knows her stuff, I just didn't appreciate her lack off response. It was ridiculous.
Definitely knows her stuff. Going to class isn't all that important because she does just go by the slides; however, some of the slides make a lot more sense after she explains them. So I recommend going to class. Tests are basically strictly from the slides, so it's a lot of memorization. All in all, a good class, & you learn a lot if you want to.
This class is really easy. it might seem overwhelmig at first but if you study over time you will do fine. She offers extra credit so if you fail that is due to your laziness. Dont get scared if you encounter people who have done bad because they probably didnt take going to class to seriously. You need to attend class for blanks on slides :)
This class is for people who are serious about going into any medical field. If your just taking to fill hours, it will be hard. She uses powerpoint slides that you can get online (with blanks missing), so attendance is highly recommended. Tests are based off of the slides. I like it so far, halfway through it right now.
This class is geared towards individuals who are serious about anatomy! the tests can be challenging in a way that they make you think. If you do everything she offers in class you will be fine
taught the Honors Zoology Lab Fall 2008. to get an A, ask lots of questions and write down everything that she says. The lectures she gives at the beginning will really help you. The down side is that she doesn't answer email AT ALL so if you have a question, you'll have to go to her office and you might have to make many trips if she isn't there.
good teacher, i took her for a&p I and II. I made a Bt but slacked off big time. The A&p II test seemed more difficult but she offers extra credit plus a paper that will help your grade if you just try your hardest. i def. reccomend taking the compresive final, it probably saved my grade.
Awesome professor. I didn't do my best and still made a B. Pay attention to the wiley plus because most of her questions come from the activities and quizzes it has to offer. But if you try to mess with her she will catch you and call you out so dont try anything sneaky. But overall the class is easy and if you keep up you will make an A.
She is a great teacher. Very clear on what she expects. I also find her very attractive. I am going to have to ask her out once class is over to avoid any student/teacher conflicts. She is hott!
The class is extremely easy. Every question she asks comes directly off of her powerpoints, or the online quizzes she assigns. Her attitude, on the other hand, is ridiculous. She is rude to her students, and snaps at them often. As long as you avoid talking with her, you will do wonderful in the class. Made an A+ with little effort.
A pretty good class, she definitely knows what shes talking about. Her tests are off of her powerpoint slides and the wileyplus quizzes. You can print her slides out but she leaves parts blank so go to class to fill them in. I suggest you take the lab at the same time as the class, it will help a lot.
This is what a teacher should be!!! Knows her subject and how to present it for maximum benefit to the student. In her world the student comes first. If you don't appreciate her, you must be from a different world. Excellent powerpoints. If you get a chance take her for the lab, she is better than anyone else.
Hands down the best professor at UWF! An asset to the school!!!
I took this prof for A&PI and the class was a breeze. After she noticed people knew where her tests questions came from she changed her exams. VERY HARD NOW!! I recommend studying every week if you wish to pass her class
She is wounderful teacher!
Seriously one of the best lecturer at uwf. Ms Pritchard definetly know about everything that comes out her mouth best teacher ever!!!!
Dr. Pritchard is an amazing teacher. She is very intelligent, she's nice, and has a sense of humor. I took her for A&P1, A&P2, and lab. You need to study to get an A, but it's a great class. I highly recommend her!
Don't take this class if your not ready to study for weeks in advance.
This class is super easy as long as you go to class and pay attention. Most people didn't do well on exams, but most people didn't even come to class.
Dr. Pritchard is very intelligent, however, her test are quite challenging even after studying her powerpoints and WileyPlus assignments/quizzes. I am a studious person and still had a hard time. She is not mean just do not talk during class then you are fine, however she will chastise you in front of everyone if you act like a child
Dr. Pritchard is an awesome teacher, however her class is quite challenging. You definitely have to study weels in advance if you want to make an A. As longas you fill out the powerpoints, pay attention in class, you'll be fine! I recommmend this class to anyone!
Dr. Pritchard is very intelligent and well spoken. I am a studious person and I still had a difficult time on her tests, the answers are all very similar. I pulled an A, but I never made a B on ANY of her tests, go to class so you are eligible for extra credit and DO your wileyplus quizzes and assignments. That is what got me the A
She is a very hard professor! Exams are hard. The questions dont come from the notes you take. Be prepared to study hard and still not do well on the exams. She expects you to study for weeks for her exam as if you dont have other classes.
Absolute best Professor on campus! Take every class you can with her. You will learn and do well in those classes.
Everyone seems to think she's a b word but she's not. If you attend the lectures, actually study for her tests, and take an interest for the course you'll be fine. I just took notes during her lectures and examples she'd give because she uses them on the tests. I'd make flashcards and get an A on the test it wasn't a big deal. She's nerdy and funny
Her tests are very detailed, but you can find all the information easily in the textbook or from her lecture. Her lab is also very easy.
Dr. Pritchard's exams are some of the toughest. However, I retained more than I have in any other class as a result. She's the only A&P instructor but wouldn't want any other. Buy flash cards and be sure to read reviews at the end of chapter!!!
Nicest teacher in the world because she let me take a test when I came in not 5 not 10 but 20 minutes late!!!! ? K. Pritchard she is the best A&P teacher at UWF!
A lot of people say they don't like her, but if you pay attention and go to class she is awesome and if you study her lectures your sure to get an A.
Great teacher but her tests are very very very challenging. Lecture is interesting and well put together but really need to pay attention and take quality notes. Also go to class to receive extra credit because you'll probably need it!
She knows her material, but she grades hard. Summer classes have no extra credit, but the Fall semester did. You NEED to study in order to pass this class with a B or above, but can pass by with minimal studying. You will need the Access Code, but not the book.
Dr. Pritchard is not easy! However, she does give a lot of bonus points when the entire class does not do well on her test. You will have to buy the book, and do a lot of studying in order for you to be successful in her class. Good luck!
Some people like her, but I cannot say I do. She's very intelligent, but I don't think she lectures very well. She basically just reads off the slides, and personally, I can do that on my own. My advice, make sure you check Wiley Plus at least twice a week, because she likes to add quizzes on there without notifying the class (or in the syllabus).
As a class, it seems easier than Dr. Pritchard makes it. The tests seem disconnected from much of the lecture material: WileyPlus is a better learning tool than her lectures. And dream on if you think or expect to receive respect or understanding from Pritchard. With her classload of students, you are not "more than a number" in this class.
The class is very difficult and it is a lot of material with a lot of notes from lecture. If you actually listen and take notes in the class, Pritchard is very good at explaining things and you will actually have an understanding of everything. The most helpful study tools are the wileyplus activities and quizzes.
I considered myself lucky to have Dr. Pritchard as my theory& lab instructor. Unfortunately, for an instructor to emphasize her low tolerance on teasing/ridiculing our peers, Dr. P was the ONLY one to stop in mid lecture to verbally embarrass a student. She has been unapproachable, condescending, and rude with a bad case of passive-aggressive.
Lectures straight from powerpoint so it's a bit boring. Takes attendance like it's high school but you get bonus points back on tests if you don't miss over 6 days. Don't actually need to attend lecture if you don't care about bonus points and if you're any good at memorization. She isn't very friendly but who cares. Hardly used the book.
Great teacher, I took her for A&P 1-2. I have to say she was easier and a lot nicer the second time around. Her class is a little challenging but if you study then you will be just fine. I looked at the book once in the whole semester and got a D and 2 C's on the exams in A&P 1 and still got a B because of give back points and wileyplus quizzes.
She knows her stuff. She will NOT give you any extra help. She is MOODY.DO NOT DO NOT take this class if you do not have a background in it. She is a walking textbook. She you might as well stay home and read. BOOORRIINGGG Test are SUPER HARD! You can pass her by doing your Wiley Plus work, and studying, but this class broad no pin pointing.
Dr. Pritchard knows the subject very well! So well, that she may assume we all know everything she does. But, despite this, I enjoyed her class. Bonus points are easy to obtain if you show up to class and are very helpful! I received an A- in her class and I have never made a B on her exam either.
She knows her stuff, APII is a lot of info and the class is basically memorization, she teaches from powerpoint, reads directly off slides.
If you can and hate lectures, take it online, there is no legitimate reason to go to class unless you need the extra credit from attendance.
THIS IS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE AN EASY CLASS. Professor Pritchard was one of the best lecturers I've had. Her lectures were extremely clear and easy to understand. If you use the study materials provided online through Wiley Plus like the practice test and quizzes you will do fine. I finished with a 95 because studied and took notes. Studystudystudy.
class is very difficult. she reads off of her powerpoint slide. dont bother taking notes off of them... she posts her powerpoints on line. most of your grade points come from whiley plus and homework. the exams are super hard and irrelevant to the lectures.
She is super weird about her lecture notes and refuses to put them in powerpoint form for some odd reason? Why she teaches ecology is beyond me; she knows little about the subject. Nice lady, but horrendous teacher.
She made her expectations clear, studying with the aid of the textbook was essential to pass this class. But, Dr Pritchard was extremely rude and condescending.
Pretty hard class- DO NOT cram for exams- you won't pass. Go to class and you can do just fine. Use the online study modules and you can pass. She's kinda rude, and her 50 minute lecture can feel like 2 hours- especially if you take it at 8am like i did. I wouldn't take it if i didn't have to.
Dr. Pritchard was an awesome professor. I had her for AP I and although she can be tough, her class was great and she does her best to make concepts clear. Taking her again for AP II!!
RUDE!! However a&P II is a hard class but if you just study the poer points you'll do well on the exams. She gives tons of extra credit if you come to class and do the dynamic study modules online. Her lectures are beyond BORINGGGG. I barely used the book. Do well on the online homework and quizzes and you'll be fine.
Avoid Dr. Pritchard at all costs. She assigns so much work that she cannot get it all graded, she loses the work you turn in, and whatever you do get back will be a month late. She does not really care if the students learn anything. She will write ugly comments on your work, and she will mark off points for saying "lack of" instead of "low."
If you cram before the exams, you will not do well. I always studied at least a week in advance and used the dynamic study modules. Also, be sure to do all of the homework and quizzes in Mastering and don't expect her to remind you when those are due. If you put in the effort and study, you will do great.
Dr. Pritchard is a terrible lecturer. She reads right off of the power points from the book. You teach yourself more than she ever will in this class. She is extremely rude and expects you to check your email and the mastering site daily because she will never announce when an assignment is posted or when it is due. I wouldn't recommend her.
Dr. Pritchard means well, but in my opinion she is not a good teacher. She reads off of the powerpoints and her study guides are straight from the book. When it came to her tests I never knew how to prepare because all of the stuff that she said we should study was never on the test.
Dr. Pritchard is the best lecturer at UWF. She can go fast paced sometimes during lecture. But, if you don't understand something on the notes, she will go over with it for you until you understand the material. A & P is hard, no joke. But, if you put effort into the class, you'll do better. Practice makes perfect. Definitely recommend!
You can not avoid her if you have to take this class, so get ready. There is a lot of stuff assigned. A lot. I understand that it is anatomy and it is all about repetition but she assigns so much stuff that even she can't keep up with it. She loses assignments, and it takes forever for grades to be posted. Shes very nice but expect trivial work.
Lectures are long & mostly pointless & boring, but you have to attend because she gives in class assignments that are due at the end of the class. Study the SLO's she provides & you'll be fine on the tests.
I will not lie to you, when students come here for rating they deserve an honest opinion and i will tell you that she is a Horrible teacher
Honestly, she's a very knowledgeable teacher and wants her students to pass. One homework assignment and one quiz every week online, always due Friday. She provides notes that follow along with the book that our helpful. Her lectures are long and boring but helpful. She posts study guides on Mastering that are like the questions on the test.
Professor Pritchard was by far the best professor. She works with you and her lectures can be fast but as long as you do the guided notes you will have no issues with the exams. Do the dynamic study modules online those are extra points added to your overall exam grades! She is always available if you have questions.
This is a tough class and one would expect it to be so especially if you are going into the medical field. She makes you work for your grade, but gives you everything you need to pass exams. No one can say any different. What really hit home with me was I was able to bring my 10 month old to class because my sitter bailed on me. Highly recommen
Because of her, I found A&P II to be easier than A&P I. Her class is mainly lecture, but it mostly follows the notes she posts online for you to fill in. She gives you the basic run down of what her tests will be, and although they aren't easy tests, they aren't dreadfully hard either. She wants you to do well and gives you opportunities to do so.
Lectures aren't helpful; just go off of the study guides she gives you for exams. She's made the exams easier than years before by removing the essay portion. All multiple choice, so know your diagrams from book and practice multiple choice from mastering etc. There are in class activities that are due for credit; so be in class or make friends...
Anatomy lab is HARD. beginning quiz (last weeks material) + exit quiz (new material from that day). the intro quizzes asks a lot of detailed parts, even if it's a complex organ system like the nervous system. So know your stuff and study hard. Midterms and Finals are more general, but the quizzes can kill you
Some of her homeworks are really long, around 70 questions with multiple parts and labeling. She loves making you watch TED talks for discussion posts. She's an ok teacher online, not too demanding. However, her due dates for assignments are always at 5pm on Friday, which is really weird and inconvenient for anyone that has to work during the week.
The homework is long and most of the time you will do homework before learning about it in class. Powerpoints are not that useful, you will need to read the book. Exams are tough and can't be taken early if anything like life happens. Doesn't leave time for reviews before class. Go to SI sessions!
This was my first online class at UWF. Anatomy and Physiology is not an easy subject to learn. The tests are not easy; you have to study all the material. She gives you guided notes to fill out for every chapter. It was challenging but I learned a lot. I do not recommend this class if it is your first online class. I did ok, do the extra credit.
If you show up and do all the homework, you'll have no problem passing. She lectures off of a Powerpoint in most of the class periods and she tries to make the topics a bit more interesting by throwing in a few funny videos or jokes. She has take home worksheets and pop quizzes, but none of them are too hard as long as you listen in class.
Whatever you do, do not take her for the lab. She makes her quizzes and lab practicals so much harder than the other professors and barely teaches any of it. Lecture is not as bad as lab but I still hate it. She knows her stuff, but does not really care about her students. You will be OK in lecture, but do not take her lab.
This professor can be rude and takes her frustrations out on her students. She assigns weekly homework and gives out guided study notes to fill out. She uses clickers in her class and participation is a good portion of your grade. Her exams are difficult and are also a huge portion of your grade. Be prepared to study a lot for this class.
Dr. Pritchard is a wonderful teacher who truly cares about her students and their success. Is the class difficult? Yes. Do you have to work for your grade? Absolutely. But Dr. Pritchard is ready to work just as hard as you to make sure you understand the information. To be successful in her class, you just need to reach out when you're struggling.
The exams are really hard & counts as 55%. She is TERRIBLE at responding to students. There are many students who have emailed her and messaged her on Canvas and people rarely get a respond. It is mid April and she still has not entered grades from early February... Wouldn't dislike her so much if she would just do her job and enter grades.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER
The only Karen I will ever like
She is very hard to get ahold of and get a direct response. Her exams count for 55% but you can attempt to score perfect on weekly assignments. She expects you to be able to devote 9+ hours a week (3-4 hours for every credit hour).
Ok, here's the thing with Dr P, she is busy, but if your issue is big-picture-important, she'll respond. She has her classes structured so you really do not need to create your own study plan. Just keep up with the weekly assignments, links, EC, and lectures, and you will do fine in the course. There is a lot to do so space out the weekly work.
You can tell she knows/is passionate about what she teaches. However, it makes her a tough grader on constructed response questions for no reason. She strikes me as someone who has a bit of a superiority complex which kinda rubbed me the wrong way. If you do all the homework and easy in-class assignments though, youll do well.
If you have to take A&P 1, this is the best professor!! I was worried about this class because it was online, but she was great. The material she added (videos, ted talks, powerpoints) is invaluable. I had zero issues in this class. Do the Work and study... easy A
I had Pritchard for Anatomy Lab(PCB 3097L) and Physiology(PCB 4098). She is very disorganized especially with canvas and a horrible grader. You can tell she is smart and passionate about the material, but she is not a good teacher (lectures are very monotone and dense). Unfortunately, there are currently no good professors for these classes at UWF.
Good instructor. Online coursework is clear cut, with lots of practice homework, reviews, and guided notes that she provides for you to fill in. However, she is not good at responding to emails. It may take days, and sometimes the deadline for an assignment may have passed by the time she responds. Overall, good course.
The class itself was very interesting but the professor herself is just rude. Strikes me as someone who has superiority complex compared to students. NOT forgiving for being absent so don't be because she will require "proof" of where ever you claimed to be....regarding whatever the circumstances. Attendance is super important as well. Don't rec.
She goes into a lot of detail about what she is talking about, but it comes off as just information dumping. The homework can be unreasonably long, but it's not hard and definitely helps with knowing the information. Takes attendance through class participation. I found it difficult to stay engaged with her lectures.
Lectures are in-depth but given in a way that is difficult to absorb. Attendance matters - miss more than a certain number of days and your grade is dropped a step, regardless of academic performance. Attendance category is 0% in the grades page but don't be fooled - pay attention to the clause in her syllabus. Provides good practice exams.
Prf. Pritchard is nice, but she could be clearer about what her exams/quizzes cover!! And she is also long winded on lecture videos, which much of the info you wont even be quizzed on. If I had to take her again I would: purpose games for all quizzes, go to open lab before exams & write down the "little things". That would've saved my grade.
She puts a lot of effort into her lectures, but you'd be better off reading the textbook, simplified youtube videos and actually paying attention to HW subject matter. Also, she will not tell you why you missed HW questions or how to improve, which can be counter-productive. Otherwise, she's very understanding if you can get in touch with her.
She did not teach, she talked and was not up to her own schedule.
Talks the entire lecture, stands in front and reads off slides.
I have no idea what some of these reviews are saying. Pritchard is hilarious during class and is very understanding of her students. She makes the lectures more fun. There are a lot of worksheets, but she goes over most or the entire thing in class. The exams are not that hard either, makes review items.
Talks for the entirety of the class without asking questions or doing interactive activity and makes retaining information EXTREMELY difficult. There is no syllabus and you have to pay for an app in order to count your attendance to class on top of the textbook required.
A + P1: She goes fast over slides and lectures the entire class. Towards end of sem she runs out of steam and lets you go early. The tests are the exact same as the practice tests so take all of them and most of the questions will be familiar. Lots of extra credit w/ dynamic study modules. Attendance with point solutions clicker.
Learning is difficult, lectures are extremely boring. Attendance is graded by online quiz questions that you have to pay for. She is hard to access outside of class.
Dr.Pritchard always made lectures exciting yet also very informational. I have already learned so much from her and would continue taking her class every year if I could.
Only reads off of slides, attendance is mandatory, not very interactive with the students through the lecture. Attendance is collected by answering questions on Point Solutions App. The app is free but you are required to buy a membership to use it. ~$140 for two semesters.
I received a C in this class. However Professor Pritchard's rules say you can only miss up to 4 classes. I missed 5. She dropped my grade half a letter from a C to C-. Academic wise, I passed the class, but for not physically being there i failed... Its an absolute joke and more money i have to spend. Thank you for nothing Ms. pritchard.
