good teacher

MS. rose is very enthusiastic and has lots of class discussion if you like that. She is also a very attractive woman, but she dosent't display any type of snobbiness or being stuck-up. you can tell she enjoys teaching very much!

She is a fantastic instructor. Her essay assingments are on interesting topics in which we can relate to. Usually there about 2-3 pages. She cares more about what your opinions are, rather than how well your grammar is. She is happy to help any student.

very good teacher, very willing to help. down to earth and hip, very smart and grades very fairly, the few quizes are easy if you take notes and fead a bit. topics for the 4 papers are cool highly recomended!! cool chick!!

dr rose looks like a died blond surfer chick with a very nice body. she is a good teacher but there is 5 papers and a research paper. you have to read a book that is over 250 pages.

Very sweet and helpful instructor, but her lectures can get a little tedious if you're looking for a challenge--they seem somewhat "elementary." Otherwise wonderful, though, and always willing to answer any questions.

This was my favorite class. She is a great teacher and she gets you into the readings. The only bad is she gives a lot of quizes so you have to keep up with the reading. Great personality and real organized. She is always in a good mood.

Dr. Rose was awesome, extremely attentive despite having her home remodeled--provided awesome feedback and responded to almost everyone on the discussion forum. Don't expect to just float through the course though, she grades tough, but if you do the work correctly, and do it according to format, she will be good to you. PLUS, she is HOTT! Meow!

GOOD TEACHER

this was basic composition. I took it as an online class, so I had no idea until the last day of class how extremely HOT and beautiful Karen is, but she is also witty, engaging, fun, helpful, seems to love teaching, and is a great teacher all around. If I took her class in person I might be too distracted to pass. ;-)

I love this teacher, the best yet. I love her teaching skills and she manages to get everyone in class involved, I love it. She is so nice, she's sometimes funny too. She's made English a breeze and I had her twice, and hopefully I'll take her again until I transfer, trust me you'd love coming to class!!!

Seriously a great class with a wonderful teacher. You will not ever been looked at negatively for stating opinions about the reading. You must read though, and not use cliff notes. I am not an English major and took two classes with her. The textbook is mandatory, and essays need to be on time. Only way to get an "A" in the class.

If you are an English major, or need a critical thinking class then take this class. The teacher is one of the best teachers I have ever had. The material is not hard to understand, and she will go over in great detail about the terms needed for the class. The final project was the hardest thing, but if you can do any research then you will pass

Easy class, amazing teacher! Kind of strict on the essay grading just make sure you follow the exact structure she wants! You have homework at the beginning of the semester but then it ends when you have to start doing your research paper. you also have to do a presentation but it's all straightforward and easy. Got an A in the class!

This class was really fun. A decent amount of reading homework, but nothing very difficult. The essays were great, and the novel we read was pretty interesting.

Dr Rose is super nice and energetic. Typical homework everyday and quizzes but it's not bad. Don't fall behind. Grades tough on essays but it's English 3. Very helpful. About 4 essays and a 10 page research paper along with presentation. She can also be a model. She doesn't get mad or upset always a smile on her face. If you try you can get a B. Just do the work, read, study, and be in class.

Dr Rose is the best professor that I have ever had. Being incredibly nice she always has a smile on her face and will take her time to help you. She teaches with clarity and makes even the most tedious of subjects enjoyable, her class was always one to look forward to. She is very passionate about English and has an excellent taste in music.

Awesome class and a really cool teacher. The homework is mindnumbingly easy and she gives tons of times to do the essays. My only quibble is that she is a bit vague on her essay grading. But if you make them entertaining to read she seems to enjoy that. Either way, it's a pretty easy class and this chick is super rad.

She requires only two essays and gives us two weeks to complete each essay. The research paper comes with a presentation, but she provides rubrics and templates so you know what she's looking for! She has really easy quizzes and really easy homework so do them all and that'll help give you a boost in case you don't do so well in the essays.

She is great! She is very thorough and will help you whenever it is needed! She makes class interesting and easy to learn the material! Take her if you ever have the chance!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Karen Rose. Very nice and has great attitude. 3 paragraphs, 3 essays and 1 in class essay for the final which is extremely easy. One of the amazing books you'll get to read is Perks of Being a Wallflower and when you've finished you'll watch the movie. She's a fir grader. She doesn't give you anything; you have to work for it.

Dr. Rose is amazing. She's very helpful when you ask her questions. As long as you do the work, and show up to class, and take the quizzes, then you should be okay with passing the class at ease. Wish I could take her throughout my entire English courses.

Dr. Rose is literary gemstone. She is the third English professor I've had at lbcc, and definitely the BEST. Her pop quizzes are super easy if you read the assigned material. She is the most intelligent English professor I have ever had. She was also involved in my extra curricular honors club and essay contest. Along with the academic support, Dr. Rose exhibited a deep care for my well being as a person. Sitting in her office hours, eating lunch, chatting about English and philosophy were great afternoons.

Pay attention to her lectures, and not her smile, you'll do great. A lot of reading, so make sure you have a quiet place to read. Tests are easy, out of notes and a film you'll watch.

Dr. Rose is way dope! She's really fun and the class is pretty easy. You need to show up and turn everything in though. She's very helpful. I emailed her all the time with questions and she always answered pretty quickly. The essay on the book was hard for me, but the rest were okay. She let's you choose your own topic.

You can clearly tell how passionate she is about literature through her lectures. 2 essays and quizzes on the readings (very important to read those!). Must work for the grade you want with her, but she's awesome! Total gem and I'm sad I didn't take her for my other English classes :(

I took Doctor Rose's online class for Summer Session. Very straightforward, no surprises. Few essays (not difficult), one novel, forum questions, and a few tests on the novel and on textbook chapters. She's very friendly, and I learned quite a lot in a small time frame. Take her, you won't regret it.

Profesor Karen Rose is an amazing individual with a big heart. She really makes her class very enjoyable and really encourages you to think. Her class is so easy to follow and makes herself very available if you need the extra help. The only way you would not pass her class if you dont show up and try . I would recommend everyone to take her.

I took this class in Spring '16. There is quite a bit of homework to be done, but it's easy. Dr. Rose is a fair grader on essays, but if you manage to go during her office hours, she will gladly help you and it will improve your essay. Quizzes are simple, just one quiz you will need to actually study, she will let you know. I would recommend her.

She is hard, and organized. love her. even though English is not my first language and English 3 is not an easy class, I enjoy her class and I love to do my hw before any other hw. I really recommend her. Take with and read for reviews for the quiz, u will get easy 100%. She is not easy in her assay grading though

This class revolves around the readings. Do the readings and you will pass the class, will be able to participate, and enjoy the class. If you do not do the readings you will feel left out and not know what's going on. Prof. Rose makes learning fun, she's smart, good looking, with a great positive attitude.

Best English Prof you can take. Her grading is clear and her assignments are not demanding. She cares about her students and offers any extra help for those who may be struggling. I found her class very useful and enjoyable. I would def. take her again.

Dr. Rose cares for her students alot. She gives out homework, but nothing you can't handle. She gives out quizzes about the topics we discuss, but nothing too major. She lets you choose your topic for the essays and she gives out the prompt in advance to work on it. When students are struggling, she will not let them keep struggling. Best prof!

I took 3 English classes in one semester and her was my fave. She is clear on her expectations & encourages you to ask questions. Extremely genuine woman who loves what she does. Her class is more fun when more people participate in discussions so don't be shy; there is no wrong answer in her class. She chooses great readings so it's never boring.

Took Professor rose for a summer online course, fairly easy class, several discussion boards each week, 3 papers, 1 final research paper 8-10 pages long, weekly quizzes, no midterm or final... She responds to emails rather quickly, and is super understanding, caring and supportive !

I recommend her to anybody she is very clear on the lesson shes teaching. Shes such a sweet person and makes the class so easy to understand. She can get sidetracked every now and then but its no big deal. Definitely would take again

Most amazing and sweet english professor ever! Definitely take her, especially if you are in an upper level english class like english 3. she does grade attendance so show up. she assigns reading responses, but the readings are very interesting not too long so it's not bad. no midterm or final. she assigns three essays for throughout the semester.

Prof. Rose is very sweet and chill. There are 4 grammar quizzes and 5 essays. Go to class, do your work. You will pass easily.

Professor Rose is the best professor Ive taken honestly. She isnt like other professors she is very straight up, and really nice. She has a good sense of humor if you need help with anything she will surely help you. Theres a few essays which are not that difficult but they are long, quizzes are really easy even if you dont study as much.

She acts as though you are in middle school or elementary school. The class is pretty essay but she will do things like going around the class so you can answer the question on a work sheet. When you do good on an essay or quiz she will recognize you in front of the class

I've earned several college degrees but took Dr. Rose's English 2 class in order to better appreciate good literature Dr. Rose has inspired me to re-evaluate my former lack of interest in fiction. I took professor rose in spring 2019 it was an easy class the only tough thing was the essays she does grade tough on them but just be careful. she gives a-lot of of homework at the beginning but its so easy. also at the end we read a book and got 3 quiz it was a good book and easy quizzes. she is very nice and caring and sweet I recommend her !!

BEST professor I've ever had. She is so kind and humble and funny and such a light. She gives good essay topics and really cares about her students enjoying the class as well as learning a lot. She checks in with the class about pacing and how they're feeling in regards to the materials and is just such a good professor. She's also so funny!! LOVE

The first half consisted of reading news articles, writing a response, and then discussing in class. Speak up during these portions and don't be afraid to discuss the readings. We read "Never Let Me Go". There were tests on that. The final project was supposed to be a presentation but COVID changed that to a research paper that I preferred.

Shes so understanding when it comes to life happening. All the readings were interesting and had to do with issues going on today. No exams just 3 papers & a few quizzes.

Do the readings and you're always prepared for the easy quizzes. Dr. Rose will read your drafts and walk you through your papers. Dr. Rose is one of the best professors at LBCC. I don't think I would be at UCLA without her. I had a different professor discourage me and she told me that I could do it AND wrote the recommendation that gave me my scholarship! Do the readings and you will pass the class most likely with an A. Show up, read, and you're good. Readings are short.

Dr. Rose is the BEST! I 100% recommend taking her class grading is always clear and grades your essays fast. Not to mention that she likes to give feedback on assignments and answers your emails within 24 hours.

Dr. Rose had been inspirational in her guidance and approach. The list of readings she designed was a great diversity of genres, and themes. She was well organized and that helped us navigated homework as well as essays and exams with clarity. She brought us together through her enthusiasm, dedication, she was a brigh light in a tough year.

Dr. Rose was/is extremely receptive to my DSPS accommodations, and worked with me personally to make sure everything was correct. She is very personable and friendly, and she genuinely cares about her students. I highly recommend taking a class with her, especially if you are with DSPS and need your accommodations to be fully respected.

I absolutely adored Dr. Rose's lectures, and every single one of the readings she assigned was interesting in one way or another. I especially loved the sections on realism and postmodernism! She also makes sure she is accessible outside of class in case you need help understanding the readings or assignments.

Professor Rose is one of the very few professors that exist in this world that have a good heart. She will definitely give you a second chance if you have missing work. The homework is very easy as well. This class was an easy class to pass. Also, if you have any questions she will answer you quick! I would take her class again if I needed to.

Dr. Rose was a very straightforward professor, Read an Article then do a discussion board replying to classmates, read a book quizzes on it and an essay, then for the end of the semester a big paper about 8-10 pages. Overall her class isn't hard at all it just requires a bit of effort. its also an online class and there are quizzes on an ebook.

My kids were sick and I missed an assign. she was so caring and allowed me to makeup the work and one more time along the way. she wants you to succeed. do the work, she is FAIR and AWESOME.her modules online were clear and well thought out. she has the textbook on canvas so u dont need to buy a book! take her!

2 papers, discussion boards, a novel, pop quizzes. Clear and easy. Not a heavy class. First paper 4-6 pages. The second paper was optional and based on a novel we read with quizzes. The third paper was our final and was 8-10 pages long all based on your topics of choice except the second paper. Very resourceful, and provides textbook for FREE.

Great English teacher, discussions weekly, quizzes which she give you notes & PowerPoint notes for the chapters, read 1 novel, 3 essays, but waived the second unless you wanted a better grade than the 1st essay, would def take her again, had her for 5 week summer class

I took her online, she was one of the nicest most caring professors I have ever taken. There are discussion posts with interesting articles, quizzes which are easy if you read, and essays. I would say the essays are the hardest part because they are time consuming but if you take your time writing it you will succeed in the course.

Professor Rose is great! A total of three essays, at least two discussion posts every week, quizzes based on the novel and readings that are all on the modules. She's very caring and willing to help her lectures are engaging as well, attendance is mandatory as it is part of your participation grade. However, only met once a week in person.

If I could take professor rose , for more classes I totally would, one of the best professors in the world I enjoy coming to class everyday and learning about literature :)

Prof. Rose is an awesome, caring instructor. Her ENG3 class has reasonable weekly assignments like discussions and quizzes. The essays can be time-consuming but manageable with effort. I found unstuckstudy helpful for study prep.

Prof. Rose was awesome! Be sure to engage in the discussions w/ thorough ideas and essays w/ clear analyzations. At first, I had been too complex & lacked clarity in my 1st essay, but after ingesting her feedback, I improved for my 2nd essay & got a 99% :). I took an 8-wk course, enjoyed the literature, & LOVED her lecture vids (very entertaining)!

Insightful and helpful in her grading rubric. Assignments gave opportunity for implementation of critical thinking/argument building, which was @heart of course. Prof. was concerned with students' well-being/success. Assignments weren't difficult-did require reading comprehension-may be challenging for those who have trouble with critical thinking

Absolutely take Professor Rose! Took her for the first time, she's kind, passionate, and makes learning meaningful even online. Super organized, responsive, and truly cares about her students. If you put in the effort, you'll grow and love the class. I'm genuinely confused by the amount of negative reviews don't let them stop you she's amazing!

Dr. Rose created an awesome 8 week online course! She has so many resources for each author and videos so it doesn't feel like a boring online class. There were only two papers, which feels pretty reasonable. Multiple choice quizzes for reading so make sure you read lol would def take again!

I really enjoyed Professor Rose's class. She was prepared and made her lectures engaging. I liked the fact this class relies heavily on class participation because I was made to dive in deeper into what we read. I think her syllabus was curated well and intentional. I would definitely take another course taught by Professor Rose in a heartbeat!

Dr. Rose is caring and passionate. She has an organized curriculum, providing a wonderful list of literature to read while promoting open and engaging discussions. Her rubric is clear and fair. If you follow it you will do well. Yes, there is a lot of reading and a few formatted essays to write. This IS an English Literature/Composition course.

Six-week summer course that was easy to manage if you're on top of the work. She is really passionate about the subject and is a great professor who gives great feedback. Great readings, too! Take this class!!!
