Her class is good if you are a LIBERAL! All she seemed to talk about was her views and how everyone else's was wrong. Tests were easy and she gave a good review! BUT VERY OPINIONATED. i did not learn a thing in this class!
I think she actually does a very professional job of showing both sides: left and right. She NEVER expresses her opinions and always makes sure to remind people that. She is young, hip, caring, eloquent, and intelligent. She gives bonus, gives good reviews, and I liked her a lot. Take her!
I think she is an awesome teacher. I took her summer school class and I attended every day because she made the class interesting. She isn’t opinionated and doesn’t push her views on you. The tests are really easy which makes the class not stressful and more enjoyable. I loved it and I usually hate government. I'd recommend her to everyone.
The best teacher EVER!!! just rite down all the stuff u can on the study guide and go to class u will get an A for sure
This teacher made government and politics interesting. She is a student and understands the stress of being a student. She also is funny, caring, and interesting. If you take her class you wont regret it.
shes interesting! she hands out study guides over each chapter before you start the chapter and the study guide questions are the same as on the test! all you have to do is go to class and take notes on the study guide and you'll pass!
VERY EASY- gives you study guides for each test that are very helpful. Definately recommend
She was AWSOME...very nice and made class not boring but interesting. Used overhead for notes and gave you a GREAT study guide for the exams. Pretty much all the info that is going to be on the test. I loved her! Tests were not that bad. Take notes though :)
She is a great teacher. Go to the class right before the tests, and learn the study guide. You WILL get an A. Easiest A I have ever gotten.
Uses emails to emotionally bash her students...the entire class...at will. Instructions for writing assignments are clear as mud...has no clue how to explain what she wants...tried three times and gave conflicting instrucitons each time. Incredibly frustrating.
I'm surprised to see a negative comment regarding Professor Sebold. She makes class interesting, she is a good lecturer, she practically holds the pencil in your hand for you when it comes to testing, she gives extra credit, she changed the course schedule to accommodate us, and she doesn't push her own agenda. What's not to love?!
Prof Sebold is by far the best when it comes to teaching Government. She's very down to earth, funny, and very very understanding. Majority of the class made A's.. and if not, there is seriously something wrong with you. I wasn't much into Politics, but this class totally turned that around. DEF RECOMMENDED if AVAILIABLE!!
She is the best teacher I have ever had! Not only was she extremely easy to talk to about anything/anytime, but she also made the class fun and easy. I actually learned things about politics and government that I thought were interesting that I never would have thought before! I hated government until after this class! TAKE HER, she's amazing
Best professor I had this semester. Her class is SO easy. Seriously, she has in class review days the lecture before tests and gives you all the answers to the test. Take it, easy GPA boost and knocks a real class out of the way.
Easiest class ever. Dont buy the book!! If you study the provided study guide you will be fine. 85% of my class got an A on every test.
She is an awesome teacher that makes things easy to understand. She also gives amazing study guides. She great I would def take her again if I had the chance!
I had Professor Sebold during a prior semester, but I had to come in and comment on how much I've drawn on what I learned in her class in a couple of other classes since then. Thanks, Karen, for being an awesome instructor!
Great teacher, great class! Very easy class! Just go to class, study a little, and you should be fine! A lot of bonus points and great study guides!!!
Not only does she care that you become familiar with the real American political operations, but she gives many opportunities for bonus points.
Avoid by all means
LOVE THIS CLASS! It was really easy, a really great topic, and the teacher is very nice. Her examples are typically about drugs or alcohol which got to be annoying, but other than that a wonderful teacher and class.
Easy teacher, but you have to do the work. Go to class and take notes, study a few hours for the test and you'll ace the tests. She's cute, too!
I LOVED HER! she wnats you to pass! Her lecture can get long especially at 9:30 but overall they are informative. I do recomend going to class but she isnt harsh if you skip a few times. Go to class for the "review sessions" usually the answer are given as they are on the test! Take her if possible!
Fantastic teacher! Gives every student more than ample opportunity to make the grade they want. Very helpful, very friendly. She keeps class enjoyable, even early in the morning. Review sessions are the key to an A. Take her by all means!
Take her!! Government is not the most exciting class in the world, but she makes it enjoyable. She's funny and she knows her stuff. She gives lots of bonus and her tests are pretty simple.
Mrs. Sebold is seriously so adorable. Not to mention, her class is so easy! Wasn't a big fan of politics or government, but taking her class changed my mind! Spoon feeds you the test questions, look over it a few times, and you'll be fine! A definite GPA booster! I would most definitely recommend taking this class!!
Easiest A ever and a great GPA booster. She practically gives you the test the day before. Her lectures are pretty boring for an hour and a half but it's better to go to class to get a full understanding of the material. Her tests are pretty straightforward. Definitely recommend her!
Really really good teacher
Really good teacher, understands how college works, doesn't ask to much at all. easy a. Government was easy with her...
I really liked her! She was a great teacher and totally understands the college kid lifestyle. Pretty liberal but who cares. Doesn't load on the work and really prepares you well for the tests. Only teacher I had this year who TRULY wants her students to do well and get a good grade. I recommend her for sure. Was blessed to have her!
REALLY enthusiastic teacher and funny as well. Short simple to-the-point power points and doesn't drag on with boring facts. Really wants everyone to do well and gives out test study guides for help. The class does still require studying even though the tests are m.c. Really enjoyed her class. I recommend taking her for your required gov class.
Great teacher. She thoroughly reviews everything you need to know on the exams. She's also very engaged in the subject and one can learn a lot from her!
Prof. Sebold is honestly one of my favorite professors. She is super cool and makes Government very enjoyable and fun for everyone. you need to show up for all classes and just take notes on your laptop. you do not need the book as long as you show up for class every day and take notes. I want to have her again for other classes. Try to take her!
GREAT TEACHER! very helpful, goes through lectures and reviews very thoroughly before tests. She's very kind and actually cares about each student and wants them to do well. Class is not hard, just go to class and take notes! she makes it interesting and is definitely in tune with college student minds. Definitely recommend!
She is absolutely phenomenal! Professor Sebold is kind, considerate, and VERY intelligent. Attendance is not mandatory, but you will want to show up because she practically gives you the exam questions. Going to her office hours are also helpful. Go to class, get an A!
Professor Sebold is a great instructor and definitely made me want to go to class every week! Although the class was an hour and 20 minutes, there was never a boring minute, which is hard to find in a government class. Really hope I get to take her in the future!
Sebold is one good Political Science professor. Nothing to complain about other than her talking about her dissertation all the time. She finished it so it shouldnt be a problem now. Go to class, take notes, and study the notes and review, tests are cake. Easy History elective :)
Great class...Congressional Simulation. Dr. Sebold (by now) was covered with work as she was completing and defending her dissertation. It was a pleasure to be in her class. It is great to express opinions (even in direct opposition) in an open discussion forum. Be ready to defend your positions and she encourages you to actually have your own.
Mrs. Sebold is awesome! She's so funny and always gives you EXACTLY what you need for the tests. She gave 4 bonus points chances which made it hard not to get an A if you just took some time before the test and just looked at the notes. Just take notes and get an easy A! You don't need the textbook either.
Had Sebold for Money and Politics. Cool professor and all around cool person. Definitely take a class from her and take Money and Politics! She helps you conduct an in-depth research project that teaches research and Excel skills. Do not miss the chance to take this professor!
Great teacher! SO easy!! Gave 25 bonus points. You don't need the book. Everything you need she gives to you in powerpoints. She goes over the studyguide the class before the exam, basically giving you the answers!! TAKE HER! I had an A for the semester. I'm taking her again this coming semester because I know she's easy!
Karen is great! Just go to class, only fill out the study guide in class during lecture. I did that and got 98's on the tests! She is also very funny and interesting
Very helpful and clear about what will show up on the test. Go to class even though it's not required. She will make announcements about quizzes or homework that you wouldn't know if you missed class. I used the book to help me study but if you study her slides and pay attention in lectures, you might not need it. Great teacher, tests are easy
OUTSTANDING TEACHER! This was my 2nd semester taking her. Had an A both semesters! She spoon feeds u the answers to the exams. Shes very considerate and is willing to work w/ you! I would definitely take her again! She gave us 20 bonus points for missing less than 5 class all semester! Great professor, and a better human being! Want an A? Take her!
4 tests total, along with some "participation points" received from 4-5 in class assignments. If you show up for those assignments, you will receive full points. Lectures aren't mandatory, but very helpful. Sebold could not be clearer. She tells you exactly what you do and don't need to know for the tests. Study what she says and you will be fine
Not a difficult class, but I wasn't a big fan of her. She did make everything very clear, but it was hard to stay in tuned because she would talk to us like 5 year olds. Also when anyone would ask for help she was always very condescending or pretentious and wouldn't really help even though should always said she was willing. Easy A though.
Don't take if you dislike long boring lectures. I was in a class of like 250 and she called people out for texting. She treats you like a highschool student. Never email asking for help she will be overly condescending and very rude. Takes her class way to seriously, has lots of dumb in class assignments that have nothing to do with the test.
super easy. her tests are basically common sense, stuff you'll probably remember from high school. the class before every test, she goes over the study guide and tells what will be on the test. she gives extra credit opportunities pretty often. i would definitely take her again!
Professor Sebold was a great teacher! Go to class because the tests come from the PowerPoints. She also schedules in days were she will be gone so you wont have to come to class. Also come to 90% of all classes to get 10 extra bonus points. I studied for the tests and didn't get below a B. Attendance not mandatory
If you don't like group work, do not take. Over 75% of final grade is from group work with long papers and presentations. Individual tests are easy, but do not account for much. She is an easy grader though and very helpful unless you get on her bad side. Opinionated, but smart. Attendance required.
Her class is really easy, I didn't study so much but I got an B in the end. Go to class because 90% attendance will be 10 extra credit.
Sebold has a problem with talking a lot before the lecture starts. It always has something to do with American National Government but it might be completely random and might not have anything to do with our lecture that day. She makes powerpoints that are very informational. As long as you go to class, take notes and study, you will be fine.
Dr. Sebold is the professor that made me love political science. She gets so into it and really knows her stuff. She does start lecturing right at the class time so be on time. Overall great teacher, I am taking more of her classes the next semester! Gives out quizzes that also take attendance once in awhile but you get 5 absences.
She was a great teacher. So many extra credit opportunities. You have to go to class to get her notes but attendance isn't mandatory. I'm taking her in another class now. Would highly recommend.
If you show up to class, take decent notes, and study her study guides (which are basically the test) you can easily make an A, especially with all of the extra credit opportunities given. The final is optional, and if taken, will replace your lowest test grade. She's a very calm and collected professor who knows what she's talking about.
I absolutely love Karen! Her lectures are truly amazing and so easy to absorb the information given. I'm taking another one of her classes next semester!
She was great
Easy, just go to class everyday.
Karen Sebold is a very enthusiastic political science professor that allows students to easily become engaged in her lectures because of how clear she gets the information across. Come to class and listen to her lectures and easily pass.
She is the most articulate professor that i've ever had in college. You can always tell that a professor is amazing whenever they were able to make you interested on topics that you never cared before. UARK should hire more professors like her because she is probably the best example of an Ideal professor that all students wanted
Would definitely take her classes again. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about the topics she teaches. Her lectures are top notch, but class attendance is not really necessary to receive an A. She does, however, provide significant extra credit opportunities for attendance.
Prof Sebold is awesome! I took this class as an Intersession and got a 98% in the class. Her slides are helpful and she knows what she is talking about. Would really recommend taking her. 10/10.
Overall good teacher, but if you dont like government and dont know much about it, youre going to struggle in the class.
Sebold is the best professor for American national Government. I got a B on every test and still ended up with a high A in the class. Go to class and take notes and you will do fine its all memorization. She also gives a ton of bonus points so be sure to go on Fridays because that is when she usually gives them out.
Dr. Sebold clearly knows what she's talking about and has a lot of knowledge of the American political system and this course. However, this is a freshman level class and she treats all students as if they are new students and have no idea how to take a college class. She is a very good instructor, though. 4 100 point tests and lots of extra credit
Never email asking for help she will be overly condescending and very rude. Her lectures aren't clear and are frustrating. You can ask questions in class if you dare, and she repeats her self without clarification. And if you meet her outside of class to ask questions prepare to made feel like an idiot
Shes a good professor. Doesnt like talking in her class and isnt afraid to call you out on it in front of everyone. Tests arent bad as long as you study or listen in lecture. I would take it for an easy A.
Great prof! Knows what she is talking about and is very knowledgable! However, the only grades are the 4 tests in the class, and that's it, so it's hard to bring your grade up. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you miss a lot of classes you won't pass
Attendance is not mandatory but a lot of the test material comes from lectures. She does not send out lecture notes so go to class and study for tests and you will be fine.
I am not quite sure why her level of difficulty is only a 1.7. I found this class hard. Do not take this class if you think that it will be an easy A because thats what I did and got slapped in the face. Focus on what she puts on the slides and read the book. She gives out no extra points. Your grade in this class comes from what you make on exams
Sebold is a great teacher and knows what she is talking about. Her lectures are clear and give you all the information you need for the test. If you study for the tests you will for sure get an A or B in the class without much work. 4 tests, 1 assignment, and two extra credit in class assignments. great teacher!
Dr Sebold is a good professor and knowledgeable about PLSC. She does know her stuff and I believe she interacts with her students well. She gives out random attendance bonuses throughout the semester and she does NOT post her slides online so if you don't go to class then you have to get them from someone else. Overall, test heavy class.
I took her for american political parties. If you are a poli sci major then definitely take her it's an easy a. The tests are take home essays and all you need is the textbook to get a good grade.
I took Dr. Sebolds spring intersession for Government. It was an 8 day course that only had 2 tests for our grades but lots of opportunity for bonus points. She is extremely respectable and has tons of knowledge about political science. She is chill on attendance and understands we have lives outside or class. 10/10 professor
Professor Sebold is definitely who you should take for American National Gov. She gives random bonus points as long as you show up to class. She doesn't post slides or anything, so you really have to go to class to get the material. She really knows what she's talking about. If you show up and semi study you should make an A.
Professor Sebold is great. Her lectures are well written and clear to understand. Her tests are very straightforward. She also plays different videos and movies through class and keeps it interesting. It's an easy class and you will learn a lot.
Her classes are very test heavy but she is great. Her tests are take home written exams and you usually have a week to do them. You learn some good stuff in her lectures and she is good to know since she has a ton of status on campus.
Professor Sebold is awesome! I have taken her twice and most recently in the money and politics summer intersession. I learned a lot in the class and you can tell professor Sebold knows her stuff and genuinely wants her students to learn. I recommend money and politics for poli sci majors!
This class was the easiest thing I have ever done. I would watch the past three weeks' lectures on 1.5 speed the morning of the test just to familiarize myself and then ace the tests, because they were open lecture/book/note. Granted, it may be different for in-person instruction, but as long as it is online, easiest A+ ever.
I took this class online in fall of 2020. I am not a big fan of government, but Prof. Seabold made the class interesting by relating material to current issues. Reading the chapters will help but is not totally necessary. Test questions come straight from PowerPoints and are open note. Be sure to take notes and you will easily pass.
Easiest class I've ever taken. Listen to the lectures and take the tests in the allotted time periods and you'll be fine.
Every class is a lecture but you need to go because she explains a lot more than what is on powerpoint. Tests are hard, but open note. She gives a tonnnn of extra credit opportunities.
Gave so much extra credit and was a great teacher.
Most of your grade comes from tests but she makes the tests easy to pass. She's very understanding of college students and relieved so much stress. She's a great speaker and doesn't want you to fail. I really enjoyed her class, take her if you can!
This is the easiest class I have ever taken. After the first week of school, I stopped going to class and ended with over 100 percent. I didn't even watch the lectures or take notes. The tests are so easy, and she gives a ton of extra credit. She is a super nice lady and seems very intelligent.
Sharply well developed course. Excellent lectures with important political science services suggestions shared at the transitions. Impressive use of current events a d real life examples used to illustrate lecture points. Good use of interactive daily credit points to teach reading data charts and reward attendance. Enjoyed this professor.
Dr. Sebold's Money and Politics class was very straight forward and pretty easy. The lectures are pretty boring, but she is a very nice lady so it wasn't too bad. Tests are take home and the final paper is a compilation of all your previous assignments in the class. Lots of extra credit.
Very quirky, to put it lightly. But she cares about the subject and her students. Overall, not a bad option if you're looking for credit.
If you are not a good test taker, steer clear of this professor. Every other week we had an exam, which are all in person on paper. She is also very passive aggressive and condescending to students who ask questions. Everyone who did ask questions in class was made to feel like an idiot. Graded mostly on exams, very few bonus point opportunities.
