Haven't had my first test yet; however, it is tomorrow, and we have a study guide which she said she would spoon feed us from. Now, I don't know what to believe because everyone says she's a hard grader and a witch (which, I can easily belive). ?

I highly recommend you to stay away from any class that she may teach. Witch is a kind for her. Socrates would have dropped her class.

We learned that educators/guardians should not make classes easy for students (this would be a democratic society, and it is the second worst form of a society). Hmm...I think she really goes by that!!! i.e. her class is HARD!!!!!

Evil, evil woman. Never ever ever take a class from her. You can't understand anything she talks about, and she looks as if she were a walking corpse. I never had tests that were that hard, the first one was ok but the second was a disaster.

This lady is a wench. She is very rude and she doesn't teach well at all. I actually tried to commit suicide in her class because she was soo boring!

Do not take her, on the tests if you do not write down exactly what she said in class 2 months earlier it is wrong. If she is your last choice still do not take that class

I love a good challenge, but this is beyond anything I ever expected. The lady rambles on in class and complains that we get too deep into things. Her tests are impossible! I was glad to have a C at midterm. She did offer an extracredit opp though.

This is the worst prof I've ever had. I was a Phil minor, and I changed it after having just one class with her! I now hate Philosophy because of her!

Dr. Seubert should be avoided. While Philosophy is abstract, she does little to clarify and make sense of it. She did not record a grade for my midterm essay which caused my to fail the course... until I could find the graded paper and resubmit it 3 months later. Avoid!

this woman is a complete psycho! if you cough or sneeze in class she gets angry for interupting her class. this is the worst class i've ever taken. i learned NOTHING from her. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! I would not take her for this class again if my life depended on it.

She will not help you if you need help. She says she "has a life" and is too busy to help. I got a high B in the class, but i worked my booty off. I would never reccomend taking this class, the teacher doesnt wanna hear your opinions and wont help. It is a VERY hard course. Hardest Ive EVER had.

She's pretty snobby and cold, and she takes most of her own opinions as truth. To get so much as a half-decent grade on her exams, you'd have to be... well, her.

Seubert was cold and rude. Her tests are brutal and unless you agree with everything she says, you are an idiot in her eyes.

Unless for some reason you cannot avoid her, never, EVER take this professor. She is completely unrealistic in her teachings, expects you to act as a mindless drone and yet BE a philosopher of HER views, and plays favorites on exams. If she doens't like you, she will not hesitate to use excuses like "I can't read this" to lower your exam grade.

Absolutely the worse prof. on campus! The liberal woman will impose her twisted logic on you and if you do not conform to her exact specifications, you lose. Her lectures are nothing but a convoluted, twisted, idiotic logic. Avoid her at all costs.

WHY is she teaching? karen seubert is the worst teacher i have ever had, in any grade level. she stands up there with a dead expression on her face, with a very monotone voice, rambling on about crap that no one understands. she grades based upon improvement though, so that's good.

Most horrible experience I have had at EUP! Impossible to please this teacher. No discussion, just lecture. I went to every class and still got lost. Never takes the time to get to know her students either. I will never take a class from Morticia again!!!

Never take her for anything. Her world rel. class only covers eastern religions and is not touching Islam etc. (important!). So far she's insulted the intelligence of the entire class, said poor Descartes was a hack because what he was doing wasn't "real" philosophy because it wasn't "natural", and repeatedly mispronounce Nihilism. Way to go!

This teacher is comparable to satan. Her tests are hard, you can get all of the answers right and still get a C. Her lectures take an eternity. She has the personality of a rock. If you can avoid her, do so at all costs. And her Indian friend, I'm pretty sure he was her lover. She is crazy.

She thinks everyone is stupid and I've never known anyone to get a good grade in her class unless you share her political views. WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!

I knew this woman would be trouble the first day she entered the room, and the room grew cold. She will call on people, and then criticize us and make us feel like idiots. She also talks about her friends and her obsession with Plato. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!

This woman reminds me of Yzma from the Emperor's New Groove. She is not a good professor at all. I ended up just leaving class very upset along with everyone else in her class. I only got a decent grade because I chewed her out after our final and demand that she curve it because she was ridiculous and that our class was an Intro class.

DO NOT take any class with her. She will belittle anyone whose opinion does not match hers, her facts are all incorrect, she goes off on wild tangents all the time. There are two tests, one covering the first two days of class. If you enjoy pseudo-intellectual ramblings then go for it. If you are a rational person with a brain, stay away.

all i can say is that she is drier than a piece of toast, she does not grade fairly, we are all stupid in her eyes, to her philosophy is the only way of life, she made me feel stupid in front of the whole class. good luck on her two tests per semester and to get on her good side, just AGREE WITH EVERYTHING SHE SAYS OR YOU ARE NOTHING!

THIS LADY IS NUTS. If you don't agree with everything that she says, then you are the person that is wrong. I would advise you to stay away from this class. I seriously dreaded going to this class because she alwasy had a way of making us feel stupid.

If you want your interest in philosophy completely and utterly crushed by a professor completely incapable of getting a point across,..then take her class. Because her class was by far the most boring, most difficult and convoluded class ever to exist. She is no help at ALL. It's the worst thing ever. I had a 3.8 GPA before she gave me a D.

I dropped the class and took Haber instead. He is a much better option. Seubert is belittling and judgmental. She is unethical in her teaching style.

WORST TEACHER EVER. 2 grades in the entire course, midterm and final. If you fail 1 of them, you Fail the course. her lectures are irrelevant to the books and she goes on rants that make no sense at ALL. DO NOT TAKE HER. find a different professor.

I've gotten straight A's in college thus far, but had I not dropped her class that wouldn't be true. I dropped after I received a C+ on her midterm, which was the second or third highest in the class upon asking around. Her reasoning? I had too much information on my exam, regardless of answering what was asked of us. Meticulous is understated.

Talks and lectures the whole entire class with very little notes written on the board. Very easy to dose off, and flat out makes philosophy boring. DO NOT take her class

This class is hard enough with how bad the teacher is at lecturing, but I also had to deal with a druggie spurting out random nonsense every time she managed to show up. She definitely knows what she's talking about, the problem is she doesn't say it very well. Read the book and try your best to decipher her lecture!

Pro: She knows her subject, but can't teach it well. Cons: She only talks about what she believes are good ethical systems. She is heavily skewed toward Christianity and that clearly shows, so get ready to accept that as your savior religion. Her grading system is unclear. She said to a student once "a C is actually pretty good for my grading."

So far, this was my absolute least favorite class. She is a very tough grader. I would use my free time to study and review, and I still got a C on one of her three tests. She lectures poorly, going off topic on other philosophers. Very easy to not pay attention. Her notes, when she ever writes them, are misleading.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS - Professor Seubert is the most traditional professor I have ever had. She doesn't provide you with notes, you have to write down exactly what she says & the only grades are the midterm and the final which are practically impossible. I literally memorized my notes and managed to get a B+ on the midterm.

Very skewed towards Christianity to the point of being incapable to teach basic philosophy. Claimed theology and philosophy were the same thing, Socrates was a pre-Christ Christian and that the natural evolution of all religion and philosophy is Catholicism. Claimed we were too stupid to understand because we went to public school and she private.

She is the most mind numbing teacher I have ever encountered, which is disappointing, because philosophy is supposed to be a fun thing to talk about. Right? Wrong. She just talks. FOREVER. She doesn't print handouts, she won't write notes on the white board, and I have no idea what she's talking about 99.9% of the time. She's not worth the effort.

And while that sounds nice if you dont write the exact thing/ run out of time for the essay test, you wont pass. She also grades by stamping incorrect on it

I took Philosophy 101 to fulfill my gen. ed. credit. This was the most painful class I've ever taken. Don't bother doing the reading you're going to go over it for the next two weeks. Write down everything she says in lecture verbatim and you'll get an A on the tests.

This was the worst class I have ever taken. She will go off topic mid-sentence and start talking about her cat. She is a very hard grader and her tests are all essays. She called me Hitler on one of the tests. Stay away from her if at all possible.

Okay, I hate to be the person that sounds like a wimpy complainer but this class is not worth taking from her. She is fine as person but she isn't so willing to embrace new ideas or thoughts anymore. Also she stopped listening to people overtime and only gave TWO grading assignment . So I hope you like gambling for your grade.
