She is in no way EASY but she is very passionate about her craft and can teach very well. I have had many a humanities professors due to my lack of inclination toward the subject but she made it actually enjoyable to learn it. Kudos to Mrs. Styles

At last a professor at Valencia who knows what they are talking about! Professor Styles is so passionate about the way she teaches that it makes going to class more fun than a chore. While she isn't an easy A, she makes you want to learn.

Great teacher! Helps you understand everything, and knows from experence b/c she has been to the places she talks about! Definetly reccomend! As long as you do the HW, it is an easy A~

This class is easy and the teacher is awesome. She's very funny and gives great notes to study from. There is a quiz every week and 4 tests. But she gives you study guides that are very helpful. She will never ask you anything that isn't covered in class.

Karen Styles is the clearest Humanities professor at Valencia. Take her for Intor. to Hum. (HUM 1020) also. Talk to her, she will appreciate and remember it.

Styles is one of the best teachers I've ever had! She knows her topic and sticks to it (except when the dirty class chooses otherwise!). Very laid back and friendly. Study guides give exact info that is on the tests and quizes. Great for Gorden Rule.

Okay, I am an honors student and she is the only professor who has given me a "B." I will admit she is VERY GOOD! Her tests are OKAY; somewhat confusing! KNOW YOUR ESSAY QUESTIONS!!!!

Lets face it, there is nothing medieval about this course. There is no King Arthur and his knights! IF you are knowledgeable about the bible then you will make an A. But if you have never picked up one...you are screwed!

I took her for Intro to Humanities. She is a terrific teacher. She will help you outside of class. She was easy and gives you study guides of what is exactly is on the test. Only 3 test, no final. She was very good and I would recommend her to anyone. Even my fiance recommended her from 4 years ago!

I loved this class-My 3rd year & college and my favorite class so far! If you listen in class, and do all her work then you will pass with an A. She spells everything out and helps you as best she can. Her study guides explain everything on her tests & makes it easy to study and she always checks her email & responds if you have questions. As a GR clas you have to write a lot, but she makes it fun. She goes right to the subject and loves what she does. Very flexible, if something goes wrong, no worries, ask for her help.

Mrs. Styles is the BEST! I had little interest in humanities until I took her Intro class. Now I'm signed up for Greeks & Romans in the spring. She loves what she does, is very clear and makes learning fun. Gives study guides, several small quizzes, 3 big tests and quite a few homeworks. Just do your HW and study and you'll be all set. She's great!

She is very clear and goes by the syllabus. She inspires you to think in a different way. If you just pay attention and study for the quizzes, you will do fine on the tests. This class is easy. She makes things easy to understand. All of her assignments compliment each other so you cant get a bad grade. If you dont do well on test dont worry you can improve your grade with another assignment. Would definitely recommend this teacher/class to everyone!!!!

OH MY GOSH YOU WILL LOVE THIS TEACHER! I took her for Into. to Humanities, Late Roman and Med., AND Greak and Roman. She is a teacher who knows her matierial. Over all the class is a VERY EASY. You should get a "A,B, OR C" (if u do all the work..and study)in the class

She is a little boring with all her powerpoints but if you take the time to listen she does know her stuff. I took a previous professor who put me to sleep, she at least keeps it interesting.

Good Professor. Easy assignments, and as long as you turn everything in on time and study for the quizzes and tests you should get an A, I did. I took it over the summer and it was 3 1/2 hours long, it got to be a little boring after the first 1 1/2 of class. If you take it during the summer semester, you will have less assignments.

Styles was so cool esp to take for intro to humanities! If you participate during class, it is soo much fun and she's really nice and will help you with anything. Fantastic teacher. Yes, there are a lot of papers, but they are pretty easy. And there is some reading. Most of what's on the tests are straight from her lectures with some stuff in the book. She gives study guides with everything on them, so no surprises. Just go to class and you'll do fine. She actually keeps it exciting!

Lots of hw assignments however she is very lenient with grading these if you attempt them; easy pts that will help your grade. There is a quiz for each chpt on the terms which can be a little difficult however she will drop the lowest quiz grade. Three tests including the final (not comprehensive).

Best professor I've had. Test are easy because she gives you a study guide and goes over questions on them. That goes for quizzes too! She gives really good lectures and it teaches you a lot. Shes lecturing b/c its going to come up again on tests, not like other teachers who lecture about stuff for nothing. Take her if the classes aren't booked =)

Always do her homeworks she doesn't assign alot and the ones she does aren't hard at all and study for her tests again they aren't hard but you deft need to study to get a decent grade. Renaissance and Borque-hasn't been to this subject matter in a long time and she is learning along with us with this new book. But it's a great book and she's fabulous! Very knowledgable and loves participation. If you love the subject, you won't mind the tests, quizzes or homework. A lot of busy work and writing but she refers back to everything

Took her for Intro and now for Renaissance and Baroque. LOVE HER! She knows what she is talking about. I will be taking her next semester for Greek and Roman. You do need to to study for test and do your homework, but other than that she is a down to earth easy professor.

Mrs. Styles is an awesome professor. I took her Intro to Humanities course and got hooked on the subject. The tests are easy, multiple choice, short answer, word association. You have two mandatory cultural event reports you must do before the end of the semester or you fail the course. I'm taking her for Greek and Roman next semester.

You will also read an additional book to your text book called "Song of Roland" which is hard to read with followed up written assignment about the book. Three tests total.

Teacher is awesome, she goes over everything on tests and makes it crystal clear.. She is always there to help and you don't have to use the book to often she covers everything in the lectures. I got a 88% on our first major exam without cracking open the book just from listening to her lectures! Shes great

I've had this professor for 3 classes and she's very consistent with her teaching method. She gives a lot of homework but they help you out when it comes to the quizzes and tests. Mrs. Styles is awesome! It's easy to get a good grade because she actually teaches! If you don't go to class and don't do the study guides then you will fail! She gives you every opp to succeed and really loves what she's doing, very very passionate. Strongly recommend her!

Ms.Styles, taught this class a a hybrid for summer 2012 and I enjoyed it very much. She is a nice person and understanding as long as you keep her updated and ask questions your good. She teaches with a passion, expects you to do your work as this was a hybrid is was more required but she gives you you time complete assignments and grades fairly.

Professor Styles is really energetic and explains the material in a manner in which you will understand. The class is not a cake walk, and you have to work to get a good grade. I personally think that she is sexy, that is why I gave her a HOT rating but then again I'm a little older than the average student. Take her, and you will enjoy her.

Professor Styles is extremely passionate about Humanities. The class was not terribly hard but definitely not a walk in the park either. You have a quizzes on every chapter with a 40 question study guide for only a 15 question quiz. Homework is a lot of somewhat difficult reading. Shes a very nice lady but overall she wouldn't be my first choice.

Professor Styles is one of the best professors I have taken and I've been to another college before Valencia. She is passionate about her teaching. There's a good amount of assignments but it's relatively easy. Some assignments are harder than others but the points reflect that. Very good discussions. Few quizzes, about 3 Test including the final.

Literally, my favorite class and favorite professor. She is so amazing, made me enjoy the subject. She does give a lot of work, but the material isn't too tricky. She offers late passes where you can make up a test, quiz, or assignment. TAKE HER TAKE HER TAKE HER!

Professor Styles can seem sort of flight but she is very interested in her subject. She is always willing to learn more and makes the material interesting and sometimes even funny. Beware of harsh grading on written assignments and know if you don't do the readings you will not pass.

Prof. Styles gives really great lectures, but (at least for the Honors class) the best part is class discussion. It is fairly easy to pass, as long as you actually do all of the work on time and to the best of you're ability.

This was a pretty easy honors class. She's pretty chill, but lets her opinion slip in a bit too much IMO and doesn't control the classroom very well. Beware, she might give you homework over the break. She's not an A+ teacher, but I'd give her a B. Decent teacher; if you need the credits take her.

A study guide is provided for every quiz (super easy quizzes if you do the study questions) and test. Lectures are not boring because she knows what she is talking about. 3 tests and a final. This was a gordon rule so we had to write a lot. She tried to make them assignments instead of essays to save our grades which helped. The textbook is essential to pass the chapter quizzes. Relatively easy A. Tests are very similar to study guides.

Mrs. Styles is awesome. She was very helpful when I had issue. Always communicate with her. She's the kind of professor that loves her job and you feel that in her lectures. Be sure to read up on the material as quizzes and tests often cover things she doesn't in class. USE HER STUDY GUIDES. I would've got an A if I did! There were some essays too.

Professor Styles is AMAZING! She is there for all questions and concerns. She responds to emails and phone calls, in a timely manner. I recommend her to everyone that has to take humanities.

I loved professor Styles! I hated humanities and she made me fall in love with it. Quizzes every few weeks but posts all the questions on blackboard. basic worksheet homework that is not time consuming. lectures are interesting and has the class engaged. work is due in class and not online. not too strict about phones. would def take her again!!!

Have tsken for intro to hum and greek and roman. Clear on assignments. Gives stugy guides for quizzes and tests

I hate humanities but she made is very possible to pass. All you have to do is your work from the book and her study guides are just whats on the test which is so helpful! Only had 3 major tests the entire semester

Prof Styles is an amazing teacher. She takes so much pride on what she does and her lectures make you interested in the class. She is very knowledgable and straight forward with assignments. She is hillarious too. There are several assigments but pretty easy ones. I highly recommend her and I would absolutely take her again if I could.

Prof Styles is probably the best teacher at valencia. She keeps her students up to date with assignments. She is a fast grader, normally in blackboard within a couple days of turn in( if not the next day). Straight forward in tests and connects with the students. She makes the information easy to understand, even though the information is hard.

Took her during the summer. Very relaxing class. I learned a lot and I sat in the way back. Pay attention to her, her lectures are interesting and she is very good at making analogies to understand her completely. Quizzes were once a week, very easy if you just complete the study guide (answers are in the book you just need to read).Would recoomend

Professor Styles is THE best professor that I have had in my entire time at Valencia. She is a very natural teacher so listening to her lectures is just like listening to someone tell a story. She knows how to teach you so that you'll remember the material. As long as you pay attention you are sure to pass her class with an A.

She's very sweet lady, but if you do not take notes, and pay attention to her lectures YOU WONT PASS. but overall she is easy going, and helps you alot.

Karen Styles is great. She lectures every day; there are occasional group assignments in class. Homework maybe once every two weeks. She is interesting and easy to learn from. I find her to have a great sense of humor. Highly suggest.

Amazing Teacher! Took her online (Which I think was her first time as she said), and the class was absolutely amazing! The work was really easy, she gives you study guides for ever quiz and test, and the discussion posts really got me thinking! I really enjoyed this class and everything I learned from it! Take this professor, she's fantastic.

Styles is an easy going and kind prof. She cares about her class. She has a few writing assignments, but nothing ever more than 500 words, and tests come straight from the practice tests. Textbook is mandatory, but it's cheap and easy to understand. All material comes straight from the textbook. Attendance is mandatory, but class is easy and fun.

You will read 1/3 of the Odyssey in the class and answer tons of questions, but it was actually really fun. She teaches in such a way that it stays in your head and you don't even need to memorize it. Study for tests and you'll do fine. About 3 big writing assignments, mostly in class work and online quizzes. About 4 in class tests.

Prof. Styles is a great professor! I took her online intro to humanities course and it was so easy! There are 2-3 20 question quizzes each week as well as a discussion board. It was super easy. I never got lower than a 90 on any assignment. She isn't a tough grader, super understandable and replies within the next day via email. I HIGHLY Recommend!

I would totally take this professor again! I have taken her for intro and just finished having her for Greek and Roman Humanities. The material is presented to you in an understandable manner. You know what assignments are due for the whole term via syllabus. 10/10 professor.

I took Prof. Styles over the summer period so it was a little sped up but it was still easily managed with taking other classes. Her lectures and additional content via youtube videos are great. She gives you questions to answer as you watch the videos or read the chapters and most of the quiz questions come from those. Overall great professor.

BRO i love her. i just had her for intro and now i want to have her for late roman and medieval. As long as you do her work and pay attention while she lectures (which isnt hard because she makes everything very interesting) youll pass with an A no doubt.

Karen Styles is an amazing professor. She is thorough and detailed in all her lectures , she makes sure you understand the material and she is kind and easy going. However, in order to do well in this class or in any class, one must do the work and study.

I wish she could teach all of the classes at Valencia College because you are actually learning something and enjoying it! I hope she never retires!

Really loved Prof. Styles! She really know what she's talking about. In a c;ass that can get really boring she finds a way to keep you interested. One of the best class I've ever taken. Not too much work, if you give the littlest bit of effort you'll do just fine. Super accessible, easy to talk to, and very willing to work with you.

what a fantastic teacher, period. I took the short summer term-Greek/Roman Hum-It was a lot of work for those 6 weeks! But, practically impossible to NOT have each assignment done by its date. I received an A or b+ on every task. Its open notes and open books on test and quizzes, (minus the final). She's funny, caring, personable and knowledgeable!

Took her online class. Multiple assignments but they were easy. Gives feedback on every assignment which is motivating. I recommend her.

I hate history because I find it all confusing and boring, but Ms. Styles turned that all around! She made learning easy and fun. Honestly, her lectures make me feel like I'm listening to bedtime stories. I actually remember the stuff she teaches! Her note-taking guides are also great help with the exams. Text book wasn't really used, but TAKE HER!

I dont even know what to say about her. I think shes probably gifted for teaching. She doesnt overwhelm you, it is a kind of an easy A, but she teaches everything she has to and makes everything clear. And more, shes very nice and knows how to handle a classroom. One of the best teachers Ive ever had. Just take her.

Definitely take Professor Styles' HUM online class. While the course can be challenging at times, she was great at providing information for exams. She also teaches using the textbook and some questions on exams will be info in the textbook only. Overall, she was always there to help if I had questions and I would recommend her for sure.

So get ready for a lot of homework BUT the homework goes right with the assignments. If you do the homework, you'll always get an A on the assignments. Although humanities is kind of a boring subject to some, she keeps it very engaging with videos that help a lot along with her lectures. She gives test study guides that are a life saver!

I usually never rate a professor but please take professor styles! she is such a caring professor. her work is not hard and she replies fast to your email. I love her and I wish I could have taken her face to face.

Prof. Styles is a good teacher. Her class is easy and straightforward as long as you read the material. I personally liked some of her assignment responses but for others, they confused me. Maybe it's just me not knowing the course material. Take her class she is good.

This has been one of my favorites classes and professor Styles makes sure to make it fun and educational. Her assignments are easy to understand and it has lots of educational information, with pictures and videos included. The discussions are great and allows you to interact with other classmates (even though it's an online class).

She is very strict when it comes to late work. Her assignments lock on the due date. She is very caring and understanding. If you do your assignments then you should me good. Her test are open book and you can use the activities you have done on canvas on the test.

BEST ONLINE CLASS EVER! Even though she has a strict set of grading rules this Professor really understands what her students are going through! Theres at least three assignments due each week and there all honestly really easy. To fail this class you either have to be an idiot, or just hella lazy lol! I most def recommend!!

Professor Styles is a very kind and caring professor, she knows what she's talking about and explains everything in a pretty straightforward manner. There are three tests, one in person and the others online. The workload at the beginning of the semester is a lot (but manageable) but as the semester progresses it becomes wayyy less work. Take her!

I took this course as an introduction to my Dual Enrollment program and it was likely the best introduction to the online program I could've had. She keeps up with her students, gives constructive feedback, and doesn't give heavy workloads (besides the occasional SoftChalk Lesson). If you're willing to take notes, you'll have a good time here.

Professor Karen is the best choice for you, the organization of the class is clear, the assignments are easy to understand and she cares about the class by sending more information about an assignment in case. Be ready to read a lot but it's not a big deal since her modules are easy to understand as well. Take her, you won't regret!

I honestly enjoyed her as a professor. She is an extremely easy class. All of her test including her final is all open book or you can use google. Yes, there was a lot a to do, but it was absolutely manageable! If you failed it's probably because you didn't try because she gives you the tools you need and gives you plenty of time to do it.

Genuinely interesting lectures. Work, at first, seems intimidating but the soft-chalk lessons are quick/easy (like 5 min) and the assignments are straight-forward. The only difficult bit were the essays but she allowed us to revise them even after grading and was able to receive full credit. Would recommend if like Greek and Roman history/ writing.

Professor Styles runs a well-organized class with engaging modules and manageable workload. The assignments are straightforward, and the tests are open-book. I found Unstuck AI and the class discussions particularly helpful for study prep.

taking her rn, awesome prof, she'll take off a point here an there, but most assignments are like 30+ points so it doesn't really matter, and when she does take off points, the reasoning is just. also the assignments are kinda interesting and she grades everything pretty fast.

I have not taken any classes in three years, yet this class was fair and easy. Quizzes are great, no honor lock, unlimited time, and three chances. There are 3 unit exams, which are timed with only one chance; however, there is an easy study guide, so don't worry. Assignments vary from discussions to worksheets, nothing crazy.

prof is very passionate about the humanities. lots of reading but it's interesting and easy to get through. almost all the work is multiple choice, just a few writing assignments based on basic reading interpretation. I've heard its a pretty new class but she adapted well. didn't give a final exam, just 3 tests over the course of the semester

Professor Styles explains things well and gives clear instructions/grading criteria. This is a very lecture heavy class though. It is likely there will be 2-4 lectures to read per week, plus an assignment or discussion post. The class itself is not hard, it's just a lot of reading and taking notes. Tests are open book, but timed.
