I think that she should not be teaching. She gets upset when she is asked questions or she will completly ignore you.
I really dont think that she should be a teacher because she is the worst math teacher that i have had in a long time. i think that she should get fired. she doesnt have to be so rude to any of the students.
She is a horrible teacher. She is extremely rude to her students when they ask simple questions. I don't think she understands that it is her job to TEACH. She also marks you late if you're 2 seconds late......and that counts as 1/2 an absence.

A VERY GOOD TEACHER, SHE TOOK EXTRA TIME WITH ME EVERY WEEK TO EXPLAIN THINGS THAT I DID NOT UNDERSTAND. SHE BREAKS THE MATERIAL DOWN TO THE BASICS, TESTS ARE TOUGH BUT FAIR. SHE IS TOUGH BUT FAIR. BY FAR THE BEST MATH TEACHER I EVER HAD. LOVED HER, HATED THE CLASS.

doesn't really explain how to use mini-tab and makes you do massive projects on this computer program. If you have her for statistics I would switch to a different proffessor
She's pretty rude. Doesn't clearly explains it. Always complaining about other crap that's unrelated to the course. She is helpful if you go and see her during her office hours. She allows some students to make up a quiz if they miss it that day. But she wouldn't allow me to do it. Not fair at all.

Get away, get out quick. She's a total flake. Needs too learn to how to keep her head out of the way so we can see her writing on the overhead, either that get a new hairstyle. She's goes the speed of lightning, but she will help you if you go to her office.
prof wagner is one of the nicest teachers at mcc. shes funny and caring and willing to help during her office hours. i would definately recommend her!
have her for stats...mini tab projects are difficult she is a smart lady but is in her own world...some people enjoy her but i didnt really like her.

HORRIBLE! by far the worst teacher i have had in 14 years of school. drifts off during notes and makes nothing clear. expects you to know things that she never took time to explain. shes too busy complaining about how she has to "work so hard"..YOUR THE TEACHER! if u have her for math and cant switch professors jump head first off a skyscraper
I think she a very nice person (however, she is an absolute wacko) She lacks basic teaching skills, she goes so fast you don't have time to think about what she's doing. Plan on going over the material again on your own if you want to do good in her class.

She rambled on about her kids and husband a lot. She would insult students for little things. She acts as if she's forced to teach. You can tell she doesn't care about her students or teaching. I've learned what not to do when I'm a teacher from her, but other than that not much. I’m not posting this because she gave me a low grade-I got an A.
worst teacher i have ever had. very unclear. tries to squeeze way to much into class period. makes mistakes. tests given were not relevant to skills needed for course and way to long to even finish in time period given even if you came early to take it

Prof. was so good I took her for a second Mth course needed. I appreciated the fact that she didn't throw you through a loop when it came to the tests and hw. She made sure that whatever she expected from you she taught you.
I had her for Statistics I last semester and now I am taking Stat II with Professor Olles. I have learned more with my new teacher in 3 weeks of review (from I) than I learned in the whole semester with Wagner! She did not help us to understand what it was we were doing... just how to do it... Horrible teacher... wish I had Olles for Stat I!

DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!!! Just the $20 web assign you will save like $140. She is hands down worst math teacher ever. Only good side is easy test and note packets. Projects and everything are easy but you will feel lost all semester but still end up with an A probably.
She is so confusing, simple thing becomes most difficult thing, never explains easier way, just the way she understands the world. if it is first your time, run away and find new teacher. good thing that she is kinda helpful.
This women gets angry if you don't have an A in her class. the worse you do the worse she treats you. I watch her grade papers while we take tests, she grunts, moans and slams things on the table during grading. Very strange indeed. She is very unclear with teaching, and writes horrible in complete notes. Bad hand writting as well. Not pleasant.

Complains about being behind constantly but instead of working harder shes wastes time talking in circles and complaining. Favors strong students, while poor students are falling behind. Constantly makes mistakes while solving problems. Getting a good grade is easy if you already know the material and know how to ignore her voice.

Terrible. Loved math classes until I had her. Just writes on an overhead all class and likes to brag about knowing everything and believes you should know the material before taking the class. Cannot explain questions at all. If you like terrible jokes no one understands, take her.
She is the most obnoxious teacher. Her voice disturbed me the most while in class. She reminds me of a high school teacher that got picked on and mad fun of all the time. I didn't even attend the final because I hated that class.

This is not the professor you want if you're bad at math (like I am). She is very confusing, goes way to fast through material, and is just flat out annoying. The lack of respect I had for her and hate for the class made it impossible for me to want to do any work and get a transferable grade. She makes the subject worse, not better.
I dont know y people hate her so much she was really sweet to me n always helped me . I loved her notes they were so helpful her tests were fair and she was prety clear about the material she taught....
Taking Calc 1 with Mrs.Wagner was a horrible decision. She does not teach, she basically fills out the notes as if they were her homework (but lacking a lot of work). Then when the students didn't understand the homework and asked questions, she would complain about how much time we wasted going over it. She's a sweet lady, but not a good teacher

She is an overall great teacher. Her teaching methods are clear and easy to follow. She is always willing to provide extra help and encourages students to ask questions on any material. She was even willing to help me with signing up for courses and transfer advice. If you do the homework and pay attention you will pass.
She is a great teacher that cares for every student in her class. Very funny and very approachable. She made the class exciting (which is hard to do for any math) and easy to understand. Overall an excellent teacher as long as you are ready to learn!+++
She was very helpful and really cares about her students. She gave us every opportunity to get extra help and sometimes offered bonus points. She was a great teacher for statistics as long as you don't expect her to do it all for you.
She's a very nice person - she cares about her students. She'll work with you. I found her very annoying, though; she tends to treat her students like little children. Her class could be improved with more examples, but there is so little time to go over everything.
She was my favorite professor while attending MCC. Her lessons are taught clearly, and she always will find time to meet up with students that need help. I got A's in both math classes I took with her, and math was never my best class. Anyone that doesn't do well on the tests just really don't try and that isn't her fault. I highly recommend her.
Would NOT recommend to anyone! When I asked her for help (on multiple occasions) on specific problems I wasn't fully understanding she ridiculed me in front of the class basically referring to me as an idiot for not knowing the information. I'm there to learn, that's the point, I don't know the information! She was no help, and that's partofthejob!
I love math and this women is very annoying always complaining about everything, everyday its always something, also makes this class way more difficult than necessary, her class is 10X harder than the final. will drive you insane!
I love math and generally have NO issues grasping the concepts. I have never been more frusterated with math than in Prof. Wagner's class. Not only was she rude to students, but also she was quiet, unconfident and hard to listen to. I chose to take this class a different semester due to her teaching ability.
She's super nice but she's a horrible teacher. I would've had been completely lost in the class if I hadn't taken pre-calc last year in high school. She makes mistakes a lot and we, the students, end up correcting her. You get A LOT of homework from the textbook. The only people who seem to be doing well are the people that already took pre-calc.
Not a very good learning atmosphere. Tells you to ask questions but acts annoyed when you ask simple questions. When questions are asked in class, wrong answers are given a curt, and derrisive "no". If you have to take this course with Karen Wagner, make sure you can teach yourself well with the textbook.
This woman is a HORRIBLE teacher. She is very rude & when you ask her to take a minute & explain something she whines & complains that she has so much to go over & that you can get it off the m-drive or in your book so you best be good at teaching yourself because you will get NO help from her & the small explanations you do get are short & rude.
I took this class hoping to master a very difficult sort of math. The homework is very easy but the test she makes are ridiculously difficult. She doesn't explain the concepts well enough, and there are never enough examples to really understand how to solve the math problems; plus she rushes a lot. She does help if a student comes to her office.
Immediately began to ridicule students for incorrect answers/work in front of everyone. Uncomfortable just overhearing it. She referred to this site twice during class, claiming that the reviews were strictly slander (her exact words) Was there for only an hour and witnessed/endured all of the previously stated issues students have had. STAY AWAY.
professor wagner is not a good teacher. she is very angry and doesn't know how to teach. she treated calculus 1 as calculus 3. if you want to repeat calculus 1 then take it with her! she makes sure you fail and take it again. she doesn't care at all. STAY AWAY from professor Wagner( of course the women)the guy is good. the women is a NOOOOOOOOO!
She complains about everything. Also very difficult to work with. She is very loud when offering assistance letting everyone know you messed up. She treats you like you should know everything and when you make a mistake ridicules you for expecting you to get it perfect. AVOID AT ALL COST! If you do get stuck with her. Good luck. You'll need it.
I didn't struggle in this class too badly, but nearly everyone around me did. She didn't offer much help without ridiculing you for it. Very unforgiving in most circumstances. A lot of homework. However, I felt over prepared for the final so her methods of teaching do work if you enough effort.

She was a absolute horrible teacher. I had a great teacher last semester but now this semester I am failing. No point going to class because she just copys the notes on the M-drive, she doesn't explain but just copy. DO NOT RECOMMEND

I bet at least 20% of the class I was in had to withdrawal, if not an even higher percentage. Very difficult to understand her teaching methods. Doesn't understand how a student can't get what she is saying - if you ask a question she is nasty & ridicules you in front of everyone about it. I would recommend another professor to take this class with
The reviews listed here are very accurate. Prof Wagner is a very substandard teacher. She is extremely condescending and makes little to no effort to make sure her students are understanding what she is "teaching". I would avoid taking a class with her at all costs. She needs to be evaluated by the chair for her non-effectiveness as a prof.
1st professor I had @ MCC and it was pretty much my worst nightmare. i haven't taken a math class in a year & she didn't help me ease back into it. Expects that you need no review. Just copies down notes &pretty much talks to herself without stopping to ask if anyone has question. One girl asked her to slow down and she basically said "I can't"

I had quite a negative experience with this professor. Wagner was kind for the most part, but lacked clarity, organization, and helpfulness. I recommend finding another professor for this course.
Don't Take her class, its extremely hard!!!you could get an A in other professors class, you can only get B or B+ in hers! and she gets mad all the time during class
If you respect her, she respects you. There is a lot of homework, but you can't pass maths without practicing, so homework is required. My first time taking math in 20 years and I got an A. She is always willing to help those who try and if you don't try you shouldn't pass anyways. She is always available during office hours and has great notes.
Took this class last minute for my degree and regret having her as a teacher. She just writes the notes from another notes packet, so material is self learned, don't ask for help, you won't get it. I learned my lesson, participated, went to class every day and only passed one test. The final was nothing she taught either. Good luck.
Spends at least 10min of our 50min class complaining that we don't have enough time in the semester to get everything done. And then takes attendance for another 5min. while complaining about having too many absentee/late people. After this she looks at the clock and says well we don't have time for questions on hw we need to get the notes done.
Dont ever take her class!!!!!!!!!! If u are late registering class, if her class is the only one availale, wait for next semester. If u take her class, by the end of the semester, you will be here giving her the most negative feeback like what im doing now!
This professor is absolutely terrible. She confuses students with homework assignments, and half the time doesn't understand what she is talking about. If a student messes up on homework due to the professor she will call you out in class and act as though it is your fault. All in all this professor needs to be fired.

When I first looked this professor up I wondered why on earth would I take a class with her? But my schedule was tight and I ended up having her for pre clac. Honestly I can say she is easy to understand and very caring. If you do your homework you will pass. She is always willing to meet outside of class too help. She cares about her students!

Whatever you do please do not take a class with her. I'm begging you. You will be wasting a semester. She doesn't teach anything just lazily copies everything down from 16 year old note packets and has no actual intention of teaching you. She has no ambition to make the class easy for you and makes it so much more complicated than it needs to be.
Do your work and pay attention. She doesnt care about your grade, she cares about your understanding of the subject. Got a few weird quirks thats for sure but Ive never had a better math teacher. A great adviser as well. We talked for 3 hrs, I switched my major and now for the first time I have an actual reason for being in college.
Karen Wagner is one of my best professors when it comes to Mathematics. Her explanations clearly makes sense and you can easily learn her understanding of Mathematics and score 100%.
She is the worst professor I have ever had. Is old and goes extremely fast. She is rude and does not care to see you pass or fail. If youre struggling she blames it on you not paying attention when you are. She does not show clear steps for the math problems, she just does it and expects you to follow and understand. She is an awful teacher.
Do not take this professor. Extremely unavailable to her students. Even if you are struggling in her class she will make no effort to help you. She teaches from note packets dated back from 5 years ago. Worst math professor I've had at MCC.
The only mathematics professor I've had who passes out fill in the blank notes... and posts those notes online... and updates them when making changes... Doesn't berate you for not remembering prerequisite material. Can get sidetracked with stories but it helps break up the time. Show up, do the homework, review the note packets... you will pass
She'll take points off for missing class /being late, however she is pretty forgiving if its rare. There is a lot of homework and half the time she doesn't collect it because there is no time but if you get half done she'll often recheck it to give you full credit. She runs out of time constantly, don't expect to go over the homework.
Professor Wagner would rather spend her time talking about her life without technology rather than teaching the class. She takes 5-10 mins talking about her life then complains to the class she doesn't get enough time to teach us right. She is extremely rude to her students when giving back tests or quizzes. I only passed with other teachers help.
She's nice as a person, but by far the worst professor I've ever had. I should've taken her unbelievably low ratings as a sign. I've never seen a professor with ratings this low.
You know in the horror movies when the family moves to a new house, and there are a bunch of ominous warnings telling the family to "turn back now," yet no one heeds those warnings? That is what it was like taking a class with this professor, even after seeing her 28% would take again rating, and reading the reviews based on her teaching.

I had to drop the course because the math was too difficult. That's not her fault. She was an excellent teacher with good feedback and was available during office hours. I wouldn't have gotten as far in the class as I did if I didn't have her as my professor. The class is difficult but she's a fair grader. I would take a class with her again.
