This is my second time taking Intro Psyc, last time I did terrible. Dr. Wickline explains things in a way that you can relate to. She is upfront about it being a hard class but clearly tells you want to expect for exams and assignments. She's also pretty funny and isn't like mean or boring.

This has been my best class ever at MCC. Not only is the subject fun and interesting but Dr. Wickline is just amazing. She is funny, kind, laid back and yet still manages to get you to learn. I like the structure of this class, mostly small group discussions which made for a lot of interesting conversations!

Not gonna lie this class was intense, 6 weeks long, twice a week for 4 hours. I was pretty nervous about this class and working full-time but it looks like I have an A! Dr. Wickline is a really good teacher, her lectures aren't dry, she's funny, we do activities to break up the time and she makes sure you understand things.

Took Online summer 8 weeks. ALOT of work as most summer classes are. she is fair and her tests were kinda easy. she expected participation especially in the discussions we had to do for each chapter. but overall good class.

Great class, very different format than your typical lecture. We mostly did small group projects, activities, discussions and some videos. The tests were a bit tough but we had so many other grades that it didn;t matter that much. Extra credit quizzes on the reading and she is really nice.

She is honestly one of my favorite professors at Macomb. Her classes are straight forward, the homework is always fairly easy when it's given, and her lectures are always informative/interesting. I've had Wickline for Intro to Psych and Abormal Pscyh, and both were really great classes to take. I highly recommend taking a course with her.

The most interesting class I have taken at MCC. Prof Wickline made the class a lot of fun and very interesting. This class really opened my eyes to a lot of issues that I never thought of before. 3 tests and one short paper and they were pretty easy as long as you pay attention in class. I plan to take her again for more psych classes.

She is good but, I think she could have better control of the class. Also, one of her assignment was completely not fair for a lot of students. I liked the class though... she is kind.

Really enjoyed this class and Dr. Wickline. I plan to take her again for other psych classes. She makes the class fly by because she doesn't just lecture the whole 3 hours. We do a lot of activities and have discussions, you encourages you to voice your opinion. Her tests are fairly easy if you come to class and take notes.

Study guides don't help at all with the exams. Expect two hours of notes every class period. Nice lady and passionate about her job.

Great class, great professor. We did a lot of hands on activities which were actually pretty useful. If you do the reading and use the study guides the tests aren't too hard. Dr. Wickline is super nice and really knows her stuff. I am taking her next semester for PSYC 2450.

Good proffessor. She's very nice and proffesionate about her job. All thought not the best of decisions to take her class 8 in the morning. Expect to take notes right from the begining. Some activities involved, make sure to study them before tests, as well as the study guide for the tests. And yeah, turn in your work on time.

Dr. Wickline is wonderful in all aspects. Speedy responses to emails, passionate and knowledgeable on the content, provides very helpful study guides, organized, enthusiastic. I took this class last year and dropped because I hated the professor, but Prof. Wickline is one of a kind. She relates the info to real life and class flies by. Her tests and assignments are bad either if you pay attention.

Took Child PSYCH (2210) online and I really enjoyed it. I figured it would be boring but it wasn't and I really learned a lot about kids. I liked that her assignments related to real life. We had some interesting videos to watch also. The scaffolding project was long but helped tie in the material. Online quizzes are easy but Coursemate is a joke

She is a great teacher, loved her class. If you take her be ready to learn she doesn't joke around.

Great class, we learned about all the psychological disorders. Wickline knows her stuff. Tests weren't to hard and there's an optional final so she'll drop a grade if you take it. I really hope to take her again for Forensic or Human sexuality.

Dr. Wickline is great. She is an inspiration for whom wants to be a psychologist. She really cares for her students. Prepare yourself to learn a lot with her. She enjoys teaching. I have been taking classes with her and I really hope I'll have the oportunity to have her as my teacher again. :)

Lectures are great! Enthusiastic, fun, educational. There are four tests, which are noncumulative (once you take a test, you won't be tested on that same material again). There's a final paper and a project, which I received 100% on both--easy as pie if you just apply yourself, guys! It's not hard! Minimal textbook use, notes from lectures are key.

Online quiz once a week 15 questions: easy. Use your textbook! Group project must be presented, which I hate but I was fine! Taking this class was SO worth presenting a 5 min powerpoint, don't get turned off by that. Three noncumulative exams. One paper to write (3 pages, also easy). This class will teach you so much about life, it's amazing. TAKE!

Human sexuality was a great class and Dr. Wickline was a great teacher. The class was pretty much what I expected and then some. The lectures were interesting. We did some group work as well which was pretty painless. Tests are fairly easy since we have open book quizzes that we take at home so they really help you with the exams.

If you need to take Abnormal PSYC do not take anyone other than Dr. Wickline. She is an amazing teacher. I had dropped this class before because the teacher was a joke but Dr. Wickline makes sure you understand everything. She uses a lot of real life examples from her private practice and jails, it was super fascinating.

Dr. Wickline is very entertaining during her lectures. She does require participation but given the subjects she teaches it is not difficult to participate. For her tests you will need to study but she does give extra credit and she drops your lowest exam score, making the final optional. I plan to take more of her classes.

This was a great class, she's vert passionate about mental health and making sure you understand what it is versus what the media makes it out to be. Tests weren't too bad and age drops the lowest. I will definitely be taking her again.

PSYC 2911; Forensic Psychology, was offered at Macomb Community College for the first time spring semester of 2016. The Professor did an outstanding job of presenting the material to the class. She made the class fun. I learned a lot and would take another class with her in the future.1804

Forensic psychology is finally offered at MCC! This class was amazing, I learned so much and Dr. Wickline is really funny and a good teacher. This class was only 6 weeks long so it was a lot of work but not too hard if you pay attention. She gave us a chance to do extra credit and we had one paper.

I took Dr. Wickline's Forensic Psychology. Her first time teaching this class. Get ready to read a lot. She does give you chances to get points in class with in class assignments. Come prepared to class and read your materials and you will be ready for lecture. She loves participation!

Interesting class. She is a Forensic Psychologists and is very passionate about her outside work. Very sweet teacher and would enjoy taking her class again because she compares to real life experiences!

I have taken 3 classes with her, but wish I could take more! She only assigns 1 or 2 projects throughout the semester so the course load is pretty light. Professor Wickline tells lots of stories from her experiences and just really makes all her classes worth coming to. Her new forensic psych class was literally the best class ever.

I took Dr. Wickline's forensic class at the recommendation of another psych professor and it was amazing. It was a summer class so it was accelerated by I found the workload to be doable. Dr. Wickline makes the time fly by and makes the information easy to understand and has great stories. I found her to be fair and overall enjoyable.

Second time taking a class with Dr. W, she is awesome. While the topic of this class wasn't the most exciting, she found ways to make it interesting and we did a lot of activities. Her tests are straightforward if you use the study guide and do the reading. I hope to take her human sexuality class.

I took PSYC1010 online for a better grade than I got before. I enjoyed the format of this class. It is accelerated so it does move quickly and there's two chapters a week but each week is set up the same so you know what to expect. Professor graded fast and gave good feedback on assignments. Overall, I enjoyed this class.

Dr. Wickline is AMAZING. Like every class, you have to work for your grade. Offers extra credit, study guides, in class assignments and keeps class extremely entertaining. She is passionate about her job and she will do anything to help you succeed. show up every day on time and get 100% attendance which boosts your grade A LOT too. LOVE HER !!

I have taken Dr. Wickline for Forensic and Abnormal PSYC, I have loved both classes. She is really down to earth, passionate and has a lot of real life experience that she shares. She's got a great sense of humor and makes class fun but I've learned a lot too. I'm tranfering but I wish I could take more of her classes.

Took this professor for my intro to psych class and liked her so much that I took another psychology class just because she taught it. Lectures are very informal, professor is very knowledgeable and grading is very clear. It is a semi difficult course but if you attend class and pay attention along with keeping up she makes you want to learn! 10/10

Human sexuality class has been very eye opening. I expected it to be like high school sex Ed but I learned so much. Wickline is great and I'm so glad I took this in person and not online like I originally planned. There is one group project but the topic was interesting and it's not hard to get an A if you do the work. Weekly quiz you take at home.

This was my 2nd attempt taking PSYC 1010 online. The previous teacher I had was disorganized and did not give any feedback on assignments. Prof. Wickline has been the complete opposite. She grades fast and always gives comments about your work. I like the set up better too, one chapter every 5 days. Exams are open book and timed but not too bad.

Dr. Wickline is easily the best professor I've ever had on campus!! She's quick to email back, she uploads her notes but not her slides. She's a fair grader and provides the two major projects on the first day of class, which is awesome. If you try and put forth a real effort, an A is very possible. I can't wait to take more classes with her.

Awesome teacher! Loves what she teaches and willing to help you with whatever. A lot of reading was needed to understand the class even though she does a good lecture. Study guides were very long but my class was only once a week so there was a lot of information to cram in. Does good at teaching the material with good lectures and examples.

Before I took this class I thought everyone who was arrested was a criminal, all lawyers were sleezes and forensic psych was just like Criminal Minds. I learned I was so wrong. This class was really eye opening, it made me think about things I hear on the news differently now and there is 2 sides to everything. Take this class Dr. W is a gem.

My girl Karen is awesome! She's so kind, funny and knows her stuff! Her class is very lecture heavy and her tests are kind of hard. She explains topics thoroughly and gives you lots of real life examples to help you. There is one mandatory group project but its fairly simple. TAKE HER CLASS!!!

Professor is very knowledgeable and caring. Lecture heavy but really interesting material. Need the book and the online code. Weekly online discussions, random homework, exams, and a lengthy partner project. You need the notes and book for exams. Study guides aren't too helpful. Attendance counts. Work hard and study and you can get an A/B.

Professor Wickline is awesome. Her class is more of a social atmosphere meaning that she loves it when you participate in her class and ask questions. Her exams were pretty hard but as long as you take good notes in her class and read the PSYCH book that's assigned for this course you should do fine on her exams. Loved forensic psych with Dr. Wickline. She works with criminals and provides many real life stories of her experiences. The guest speakers she brought in were really helpful. The exams were easy and the textbook is an easy read. There is one paper that you are given 2 choices for including observing a court hearing.

If you take good notes you will get a good grade. In Forensic Psych you have little to no work outside class. In Abnormal you have weekly online assignments and a little more hw. One of my favorite professors, I go out of my way to go to South Campus to take classes with her. Shes hilarious and a lot of fun. Two points per day for attendance

By far one of my favorite professors of all time! Professor Wickline is a real gem. I had her for PSYC2210 online. Even though the class was online, it was not hard at all. She made the assignments easy and meaningful at the same time. I definitely am going to try to take another one of her classes again!

Dr. Wickline was a truly amazing professor! Although this class was not easy, she made it much more enjoyable to sit through. Barely any homework was given out, that being said reading the material thoroughly will make this class easier. Best prof. at MCC. She is caring and very good at comparing new material to real life situations which really helps with the tests. There are 4 large tests which can be difficult but if you read the chapters you will be fine. I would suggest you jump on taking her class if you have the chance.

I took PSYC 2700 online and really enjoyed it. The assignments really related to me and made me take a look at my own health. Even though there was work it did not feel like work because it was interesting. There is group work which wasn't bad and the tests were easy.

Doctor Karen Wickline is very nice. She responds quickly to emails if you need assistance. She is open and willing to help when needed! Class is easy as long as you read chapters and quizzes come right after. Discussion was easy as long as your open and honest, and we had one paper that was pretty much it! Great class!

I LOVED this Prof, she gave lots of feedback, which is very helpful. She was very clear about her expectations. The material was interesting and she was excited to teach it. My only complaint was the use of Launchpad, which had some inaccuracies in grading of tests. Dr Wickline did correct these, but it shouldn't have happened.

I thought this was a good online class. Expectations were clear and assignments reasonable. I did take an 8 week, so had 2 due dates in a week. I would prefer 1 due date each week, but I was mostly able to maintain the schedule. 1 discussion post w/ 1 reply, a couple super easy videos w/ questions, adaptive practice, and 1 quiz per due date.

Wickline is a GREAT professor. I took her for two psych classes (this one and abnormal psych) and I'm taking another one of her classes next semester. She responds super fast to emails and is always available to answer questions or explain something. 10/10 would recommend.

The exams for this class are pretty lengthy, but not difficult. There are 3 assignments per week; exactly the same format but with the new material. You have to read the book and take notes on your own. The exam is exactly based on the book. She has a lot of fun teaching the class and loves discussions. There is really nothing negative about her.

Dr. Groth was amazing! 3 assignments each week which gives plenty of time to do! Adaptive practice is kind of hard but other than that easy A forsure! She is willing to help you. Exams are long 75 questions but they cover the textbook so make sure you read! She gives an optional exam at the end of the semester & extra credit to improve your grade!

Dr. Groth's lectures are very in depth without being overwhelming. She explains the content in a way that's easy to understand, and her lecture videos were actually enjoyable (plus under an hour). Dr. Groth is very laid back and you can tell she genuinely cares for her students and their learning. Assignments were easy to understand. Great prof!

If you need to take a psych 2850 class TAKE HER! Online lectures are not long with average of 30 mins. Interesting discussions and she tells awesome stories of her personal experiences that relates to the topics. The assignments given are intriguing and make you want to complete them. Make sure to watch lectures and read before quizzes to do well!

Dr. Groth is amazing! Her lectures are interesting and engaging, as well as, her stories. The assignment due dates are reasonable and make sure you read the textbook for chapter quizzes! There is an essay at the end of the semester, but you can pick whatever topic that you want! Trust me, take her and you won't be disappointed!

Dr. Groth is super clear about her expectations,has opportunities for extra credit, & tests come straight from the text book, so you can not fail if you just read along. Just 1ch/week. Dr. Groth is an amazing professor. You will only fail if you dont participate/do the readings. She keeps class interesting and changes it up each week so you are not always doing the same thing. I wish I could take all my classes with her. Advise: Take your final project seriously. I spent 13 hours on mine but scored high. Highly recommend!

Great professor, offers plenty of extra credit! Loads of reading and assignments each week but if you take the time to understand the material you can pass with an easy A. Emails back quickly and is very understanding. Would deff recommend this prof

She is a good professor. She has worked in psychology for many years, so she is very knowledgeable. You will learn alot from her. for some reason though she does not really explain what is on the tests very well, but i wouldn't skip class if i were you.

She's the only psychology professor I will take, I took her for 1010 too. Very nice and very knowledgeable. You can tell she's passionate about psychology. Grades fairly. Makes psychology a lot more interesting. I recommend her if you need to take psychology in any field.

Literally greatest professor ever. She definitely loves what she does and is the most caring teacher ive had yet. Super understanding if you just explain yourself and her workload is reasonable and easy. Tests are fine just study and Im sure anyone is capable of passing. Once again she is so awesome and passionate about her job.

Loved this class. It was very interesting and Professor Groth does a nice job setting the class up. The exams are really easy, they go along with the adaptive assignments. She interacted with us a lot in the discussion posts and answered questions very quickly. Would love to take her again in the future.

The class was easy as long as you read each chapter and complete the assignments in each module. There is a big Awareness Project due at the end of the semester. She first addresses this project in the first week of the class so it doesn't come out of nowhere. Make sure you have good time management!

This class was the best virtual class I have ever taken. The lectures were interesting and she always answered questions in a clear and helpful way. She showed videos as examples for different disorders, and has you do case studies in break out rooms for each chapter. She is fun to listen to and tells fascinating stories.

Forensic was one of my favorite classes! It was super interesting and really opened up my mind about a lot of different issues in our world. The lectures were interesting and she tells a lot of stories about her job. Class was structured the same each week. If you read and listen to her lecture you'll do well.

First, Professor Groth was amazing. She is very accessible and encouraging! With that being said, This course was one of the most difficult courses I've taken at Macomb. Quizzes were hard even if you read, did notes, etc. The textbook software sucked in my opinion. Only a few assignments due each week but prepare for 50-100 pages of reading a week!

She's awesome. Has a lot of experience in her field and shares really interesting stories that relate to the class!

I took both abnormal & forensic because I just adore this professor. She is one of the best professors at macomb. She not only is super educated on anything she teaches but also manages to make it super fun and engaging. Abnormal psych was by far my favorite class ive ever taken. Will always recommend her to anyone interested in psychology

i'm half way through the summer course & i LOVE this class. homework is super self explanatory & actually really interesting. there is a good amount of assignments, but nothing too crazy or hard to manage. this class actually makes me want to learn! she doesn't ask for too much from us, i'm so glad i picked her as a professor!

I really enjoyed this class and professor. Take extensive notes and you will be fine! Some weeks you'll have to do 2 chapters others 1 chapter. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the discussion posts, they were due by midnight and part of the assignment is replying to peers and most people didn't start the assignment until after 10 I wanted to sleep

she is an amazing proffesor and i was lucky to have her for my first day of class, and if you are taking psyc1010 i would 100%recommend her because she is really kind and helpful.

A standout teacher at Macomb, her lectures are captivating, sparking a desire to ask questions and delve deeper. Homework mainly consisted of reading, with a few group projects, yet her teaching was outstanding. Highly recommended!

Prof. Groth is an amazing teacher! The class is engaging, with reasonable workload. Use Unstuck AI and the textbook - you'll ace the tests and learn a lot. Highly recommend this course!

I took psychology online with Dr. Groth and overall it was an enjoyable class. There was no final but there are quizzes at the end of every chapter. To stay on track set some time aside at the beginning of the week to complete assignments. Throughout the course there were many opportunities to receive extra credit. I would recommend this class.

Dr. Groth is an amazing professor! She made the class fun and she interacts with students. I took her for PSYC 1010. Her class is easy just make sure you pay attention in lectures and take notes. Would take her again.

I always looked forward to lecture and her stories. Pretty easy class with just one group project due near the end of the semester. Attendance will be mandatory since you there's no way to make up the in-class assignments that are graded + attendance counts as a grade period. No complaints honestly.

I took the course online. It was pretty standard, with nothing too difficult nor exciting. Most of everything was taken straight from the book, so I recommend reading it cover to cover. She offered lots of extra credit, but it involved on-campus activities, if that's okay with you. I actually really enjoyed the engaging class discussion boards.

I loved this class! She made it so much fun to learn about forensic psychology. The textbook is very much needed and you should always watch the video lectures. The video lectures may be long but they're really informative and great to watch to clarify what you learned that week from the textbook.

I really loved this class. It was extremely interesting and relevant to my interests in being a FBI agent. Dr. Groth is really nice and very knowledgeable, she shares a lot of her personal experiences and brought in some awesome guest speakers. The exams aren't bad if you keep up on the readings outside of class.
