Power point notes. Tests from notes. She goes over what to know. Pretty easy.
Great teacher. You'll pass the class even without a book, just take great notes. Fun class.
nfun class makes it fun she can realize we arent all great at math and works with you on it. great course!
She is a wonderful teacher who knows her stuff. You learn so much, and she makes it fun. She tells little stories about her life to help you understand what she is talking about. Take her class, even if you just need it as a requirement. You'll love it.
she knows her stuff.. and i learned so much.. i actually didnt get bored..
This lady rocks. Her class can be a bit boring however there is 0 reason to not get an A everything is spelled out clearly and her tests are BEYOND easy and fair. I HIGHLY reccomend her
I LOVE HER! she's fair but strict! definitly makes a boring course fun with her quirky bubbly personality! always willing to help.
I love her! Cool teacher!
She rocks, She really helps you out I barely got a c in my algebra (math 8) yet got an A in ehr course. I really suggest taking her she is understanding and helpfulk, and she is pretty cute.

very boring class with hard to follow lectures. if you like copying down notes for an hour and twenty five minutes then i guess its an ok class.
Long lectures, but she keeps it interesting with personal stories. Test are easy and straightforward. Great class and very interesting.
Loved this class! Very informative and interesting, lots of notes, but if you go to class, your notes are the anwers to the exams. Great personality and entertaining!Do not miss class attendance counts!
Great teacher, though you take alot of notes, its a great class.
she is truly the best teacher. always smiling, energetic and understand students. no attendance and no HW at all. all her test questions comes from her lecture
Very fun and interesting...Very energetic and at times spazzes out. Tests are kinda tricky, not necessarily black or white questions. Good teacher though.
hate math got in A in this her lectures are easy clear and precise straight to the point using powerpoint. I would say dont miss this coruse its an easy b work for an a
Best teacher! She is soo interesting and has an outgoing and hyper personality. All topics covered are very intresting, and personal stories she tells are great. I always look forward to attending her class. Always laughing, great teacher.
This is one of the best professors I've ever had. She's extremely fair and easy. Most of test is out of notes but some book reading is required. Projects are extremley easy and rare. Even has extra credit. Very funny, entertaining, and helpful.GREAT TEACH
she's the best!! her notes are very clear and she makes the class super fun.
if you want to take notes the whole entire time off power points, take this class. expected a lot from this class but received little. ratings here are a little overrated, but okay tests- though some things on her study guide may not be covered in class.
Dr.TUcker is the best psychology teacher besides John Lowe. And i think Tucker teachs better. She has so many personal stories that makes the class lively. She is so attractive just by her smile and acts. She is very nice and patient. I think the tests are not that easy, but not hard either.GOOD LUCK
friendly, energetic, funny. Tests are not too difficult; doing a little reading the lecture notes - you will be fine. Highly recommended! Go Ms. Tucker ( or may I say: Go Kari!! lovely lovely teacher)
The best
If you follow directions you should have no problem on the research paper. She is very clear on what she expects. The tests aren't too difficult if you take notes and review them.
excellent choice
Loved this teacher! the best proff. in IVC. great sense of Humor, interesting class. easy to take notes. term paper a breeze if you pay attention to directions. overall reccomend this teacher!!!
i wouldn't say she's the best teacher at ivc--people just love this prof. because her class is so easy. there must be something wrong with you if you don't ace her class.
ok class...not quite interesting but easy if you go to her lecture and take notes.
Good teacher. Easy if you pay attention. Tests are not hard, all multiple choice. Classes are enjoyable and entertaining. I didn't learn much, but it was not the fault of the teacher. A decent intro to what psychology is.
Very fair in grading, though she does not make any, any exceptions no matter how logical they may be. You would expect more from a Psychologist. She is an excellent instructor, other than that.
She is fun. She makes learning very easy. She is very helpful.
Class is fun, but test is very tricky, however, her study guide may help you
she is a nice teacher but it stops there...the tests are VERY hard...the study guides are way to broad...so you study more than half than what is on the actual test...don't take this class if your planning on passing!
she's an interesting, fair prof. the paper is easy. i took 2 of her classes and got 100% on both papers. tests are a little tricky, but if you pay attention it's not bad. i didn't study and i got a's and b's. she's animated so it keeps you awake in the freezing classrooms.
even saying that Kari Tucker is a "bad" professor is an insult.unless you like hearing constant stories about her kids, you'd like the class. all throughout her class, the only person she really paid attention to or favored was one student who was in her psych group, and that was the only person who spoke in ALL of the class. tests are too hard.
She was very good at teaching however I loved hearing from her stories. But the main focus is unless your driven to succeed then you shouldnt have a problem with this class. Although she isnt much caring as far as other stuff going on in your life if it conflicts with class. :( so in a way teaching is good yet she is harsh somewhat.
sorry, but this teacher sucks. Her teaching style is for high school, and she talks way too much. This teacher can talk 4 hrs straight without teaching you anything. I hope she can be more straight forward when presenting material.
Crappy, I feel like I am wasting my life everytime I step foot in her class. Her stories are stupid and there is virtually no information learned. Even though I hate the subject it would be nice to learn something new! If you want the easy A and can bite your tongue and resist the urge to hang yourself from the ceiling, take her.
She's alright as long you study throughout the exam's study guide. Coming to her class is a waste, you won't get anything from it.
I enjoyed the class. She is very nice and caring to her students. She uses her own examples in her lecture which makes easier to understand the materials.
conniving ****. don't be deceived, she may look kind and helpful on the surface but if she finds some reason to feel threatened by you or dislike you for some irrational reason, she will definitely use her power as a professor and grader to her benefit... which will be the furthest thing from your own. don't take her unless you want to kiss ass.
She can talk for 4 hours and it drives you crazy. She overloads you with her lectures that you don't remember after you walk out of class because its too much. She only gives one 10 minute break throughout the 4 hours. Her papers are easy A's,however her tests are ridiculous because they contain very little of lecture and are hard. However, she is nice
Dr. Tucker's class online was pretty easy. you just need to read alot by yourself. She replies quickly to your mails and she is quick at posting grades. she really likes what she does and you can tell.
Great teacher, tries very hard to explain statistics and make it easier.
I loved her class. She opened my eyes to mathemetics. I was never a lover of math and she showed me how much fun it can be. I would recommend her class to any pschology major student.
She's funny and she does her best to keep you interested and focused in class. Make sure you do the homework and the reading before you go to class, because otherwise you will be completely LOST and will have to figure out things on your own. Very helpful when asked, the tests can be challenging but if you follow the study guides you'll be fine.
VERY VERY VERY nice but I definately was not interested in the class and showed up because I had to. That's it. She is dull a little bit...but again I say REALLLLLY nice!
kari is awesome. she cares so much a about making concepts clear and having her students succeed. more teachers should be so dedicated. i think she's hilarious too-very animated. one of the best teachers i've had and mentor as well.
Kari rocks! she is just so awesome and very nice. loves her work and makes her students love the material. her classes are pretty challenging but if you are up for it then you will do just fine :)
This is not an easy class, and will require quite a lot of work,so if you have a lot of time, than you can take it. There is a TON of reading, some of which is interesting. There are 3 tests, and one HUGE project that is kind of rediculous. She gives you ALL the notes, and lectures are pretty alright. She is a great teacher, but the subject is hard.
She provides everything you need to ace this class, however your success is ultimately up to you. You need to work in this class, but if you want to learn and LIKE what you are doing, I highly recommend taking her. She's by far one of the best teachers I've ever had. She sincerely believes in her student's abilities and is always willing to help.
This is my first on-line class that I took and I must admit, at first, I was intimidated by Prof. Tucker's syllabus. There are weekly assignments, quizzes, discussion board participation, a literature review, and two exams. Sounds like a lot, at first, but it was easy. It was an easy A!
She is very nice and funny! The class is pretty easy if you read the book, listen to the lectures, make sure to do every journal (don't wait ti'll the deadline[s]), and (most important) make sure to know every keyterm in every chapter you have to study to be well prepared for the exams. Take her, she's one of the best profs. I've had.
I took Dr. Tucker for many courses... she is amazing. she is very clear and understanding. The course outline might seem like a lot of work, but its really not that bad. We are in college not high school. She grades fairly. definitly take her classes
She is one intelligent professor with professionlism .she truly cares about all her students. She is definitly the most hope inspiring teacher on campus. Her classes are fun, and you can really learn something useful.Ask her if you have any psych related question, she is always there to help...Dr. Tucker Rocks! You will not regret taking her class.
This teacher is very good! Her subjects are really hard, but she's a good teacher where you can tell she wants to see her students do well and succeed and tries her best to help them. A very honest teacher and a good, fun person!
Honors Course. Very easy. Just keep up with the work (journals, presentation, exams) and you guaranteed an A. She takes attendance but her lectures never cover everything that will be on the exam. Don't worry about it. Just study the study guide a week before the exam and you will get an A on the exam for sure. very helpful in every way.
Dont get why theres so many complaints about her its nonsense. Ppl go into psych thinking that its gonna be super easy & take no work. Psych classes involve a lot of reading if u cant handle that pick another maj or some no work classes. Im a psych major @ an VU & took her dev class over summer & it was super easy 4 a psych class i learned a lot
Dr Tucker is wonderful! She is well educated, fun and friendly. Make sure to do all your work. She really wants to see everyone succeed and makes the subject fun! You will not want to miss class.
she didnt do a very good job teaching honors stats. not all the material was covered and the tests were too hard, even for an honors class. take it from someone who has taken a lot of honors classes-this is definitely the hardest i've taken. she often went over a lot of insignificant material, which made it even more confusing.
She talks too much. Being in her class makes me want to plug my ears and just go to sleep. She often talks about herself like everything revolves around her... I wish I can skip her class but attendance is a must. I'm considering to switch professors because she definitely get on my nerves.
Well, obviously the person below me wasn't paying attention to the content of her lectures. Tucker is the type of professor that will explain things 100+ times until everyone gets it. She never is annoyed with "too many questions." I took her stats class with no previous experience and came out with an A because she's so clear and fair. She cares!
Obviously the person below me didn't pay any attention to the content of her lectures. Tucker is the type of professor that will repeat something 100+ time until everyone gets it. There's no such thing as "dumb" or "too many" questions in her class. She is immensely helpful and caring. I took her stats class and she was incredibly clear.
Took her online class during the summer. Lots of weekly work but it's easy, just don't put it off. One major paper but she grades really fair! Midterm and final were kind of difficult but she grades them on a slight curve. Really nice and helpful! I'm glad she teaches other classes!
She is a nice teacher, a little scatterbrained. I took her online class and there is a bit of weekly work, but it's easy. Her tests are pretty hard, you can't really get by without reading, which worked for me. Her exam study guides were pretty much everything discussed in the book so it's hard to study for, but she does give extra credit.
She is so nice! Her lectures are really fun and she always has a story or personal experience to relate to the work in order for it to be understandable and personable. She is the reason why I'm a psych major. =]
Easy A.Just study the study guide, you get your A.But I don't like how she makes everything everything revolvearound her.And I dont get how she could have the the heart to dissect even if she didnt torture any animals. It is sickening. I refuse to be a psyc major.Gave her a good rating b/c easyclass.Sickening i tell you, heating up dogs to death.
I dont know if she did experiments, but since she does cognitive psyc, then probably she did. Boycott psychology in nonviolence way.Giving drugs to cats, putting monkeys into depression.Just cause you CANT PROVE they feel pain doesn't make the other side true. What if they DO FEEL PAIN? SHE MADE SICK TO MY STOMACH AND MADE ME HATE PSYCHOLOGY.
I took her online class its demanding. Every week a pretty easy 2 part assign. watch out for the 1 hr videos!,discussion board and tests on the text book. 2 major exams pretty hard, "study guide" was a list of every subject title in your book..yeah..NOT helpful. One paper which is RIDICULOUS and demanding, mine was on a 800 pg book! 800!!
I learned a lot in this class, and I'm glad I took it. The class was also very interesting, especially the debates that we had. But this class was very difficult (especially the exams), and I worked VERY hard, and I received a B. I think I should have received a higher grade.
I see that reviews are positive but I am not that excited about Dr. Tucker. To me she is not clear and can not explain well. She is definitely a happy person, caring for students but I expected more. I would not retake this class with her.
Assignments turned in first few minutes of class & zero late work accepted. If you have zero other obligations, no intentions of ever being tardy & dont mind doing assignments the night before & never getting points for it- this class is for you. Lectures include many personal family experiences most can't relate to. Zero group activities.
The best instructor I'll probably ever have. Smart, dedicated, pretty, and creative. Amazing that she is teaching at a 2-year college. Simply excellent.
I took her summer 6 week Abnormal Psychology course and I LOVED IT. I may be a bit bias being that I am a Psych & Social Behavior major but I seriously loved it. And to the comment below-- the semester paper was not on the entire 800 pg book! It was on a few sections out of the book. Super easy! :)
I took this professor before and I dont think she really understands someones emotions. It make me think because she is a psychologist and doesnt think of the feeling of people...she is very demanding when it comes to school and doesnt try to talk to students individually. what i mean is that she is always talking low of students who arent ready
She is nice, no doubt about that, however, if a student does not focus too much in class or online she indirectly tries to get their attention and she pays not much attention when that less focused student needs it. I have to agree with the comment below b/cuz she helps those that are only extremely interested in the class.
her homework and quiz r easy, but there were 88 questions for each exam. and she will give the study list, but still need to ready whole book. i dont like her because she is a very "fair" person. whatever u tell her the reasons why the homework or paper late. only thing she told u "that's unfair to other students."
She has to be the most annoying professor or teacher I have ever had. It's like she's on speed or some other drug, because she has so much energy to the point that I get a headache in her classes.
I CANT believe all the negativity towards Dr.Tucker! She is by far 1 of the best profs ive had in college! great sense of humor & makes learning the subject enjoyable. I personally AM NOT a math person but I aced her class because she is sOOOO helpful, easy HW & has very interesting lectures. i love her and HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!!
Prof. Tucker is great, but be prepared to work very hard for your grade. Her class was incredibly stressful for me because of the workload. Her energy makes a dull subject and otherwise poor teaching style come to life and I really appreciated that. You won't get an easy A though.
I took social psychology online. It was pretty easy and straightforward. Just do all the homework and quizzes and you'll get an A. Quizzes are open book and Professor Tucker makes a study guide for the midterm and final. Easy A
I took the online Psych. 1 class and it was fascinating. Every week, there is one open book quiz that you can take three times for the best grade :) an assignment, and discussion board... super easy. for the midterm and final, she gave us a study guide.I got almost all 100%s on the assignments.and she gives two surveys for a nice amount of ExtraCr.
She is a great teacher! I took her online course. I literally only spent 2 hours each sunday doing the HW/DB/QZ. It was so easy! If you just do the HW/QZ/DB every week you will do great! She offers EC 5% for HW 5% for midterm and 5% for final!I have to admit the midterm and final were a little difficult but the EC helps!
Class is not hard. However the professor is a bit different, but in a good way. Tests have two parts. Pt.1- is multiple choice with questions regarding specific answers then pt.2 is actually the math portion where you must show all your work.
Took her online Psych 1 class. Before this class I was mildly interested in psychology, but this class made me love it. The studies were interesting and the online tasks were not very difficult though some were time consuming. She was very helpful when it came to fixing a grading error. She is very good for how many classes she manages.
Enthusiastic and helpful teacher. I took her online class, but her assignments and discussion board topics showed she loves what she does and wants people to learn. Since it's online, you have to learn on your own most of the time, but she's helpful when asked. It's an easy class and she's a lenient grader, so a B or A is not a difficult goal.
I took her online psych 1 class and she is extremely helpful. Always emails back quickly, is very clear about hw, semester paper and discussion. This class requires work but it's not that hard if you can manage your time. She is a very fair grader. Would DEF recommend this class!
Assignments, Quizzes, Discussion board, and semester paper are all a joke. Midterm and final, on the other hand, are ridiculously hard. Review sheet covers 400 very vague terms, and then we're asked about specifics on the test. 100%'d all assignments only to receive a B+ due to stupid hard tests.
i have taken 3 different classes with her and there is no doubt she is a great professor! You can tell she really cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed. Her tests can be difficult but if you pay attention in class and study you wont have a problem. She is very organized and has the entire semester laid out in the syllabus so there
I took Abnormal Psych online over the Summer and really enjoyed it! I really like how she has the class structured and plan on taking more classes with her in the Fall. You do have to put some work into this class and there's a lot of reading, but I was already really interested in psychology, so overall the class was easy for me.
online class.quizzes, disussion board, assignments, and midterm/final. read the book, understand the material, and you can ace the class. the quizzes, disc, & assignments are so easy. super helpful and sweet professor. learned a lot in the class. really cares about students.
Took the class online. Everything is easy, except for the midterm and final. You will have to study hard for those! besides that, the weekly work is easy. You can retake a quiz 3 times, so you always get at least a 90%. This class is not much effort, and I know that's the most important thing to people lol.
Could be a good teacher if she worked on problems with the class. Mostly goes over the terms without explaining or showing examples. runs class late 5+ minutes.
The first time I took her, I'll admit I didn't try. After being consistent with all my work and doing my best on tests I feel I have done much better this course. Offers two extra credit opportunities of 3% towards your midterm and final. Midterm and final are quite difficult but do the other work and try your best and you'll pass.
Dr. Tucker has great energy and her passion for the course and her students is shines through every minute of this class. Really good with emailing back promptly. Don't need a book, she posts all her notes on Blackboard. Two exams- midterm and final. There aren't many assignments to be graded on so you really have to do well on all her assignments.
Kari is the most amazing teacher and mentor. I learned a great deal in her class and she was extremely energetic and helpful at all times. Critique: Exams were ridiculously difficult and didnt really reflect what we spent time towards in class. The focus is on an original research project/term paper more than anything and grades shld reflect that.
Took her online course. Walk-in midterm and final. If you can't make it, she offers other times, so it shouldn't be a problem. Weekly Discussion Board posts, assignments (answering questions regarding videos, websites, personal opinions) & quizzes. You also read a book (The How of Happiness) and do an essay/assignment on that. Overall, good class!
I took her online class. It was pretty simple. She's very direct and clear about what she wants you to do. You just have to keep up with the work every week because it's a little bit of a handful. The midterm and final are walk-in and they're fair. She keeps things interesting with the questions she has us respond to and the sites we used.
I took the online psyc37 course. It was super easy besides the midterm and final. The entire class is a piece of cake. She lets you take the online quizzes three times and get 100 percent on all of them. She grades the assignments easily. Those tests are ones to worry about.
Stats with Tucker was amazing! Math is my worst subject but with Dr. Tucker's clarity, helpfulness, and patience I was able to receive an A! Her 3 exams are all fair and she offers some extra credit. She is truly an AMAZING professor! Best I've had at IVC! TAKE HER for any psych class you can! You will NOT regret it!
PSYC 1 ONLINE: We were assigned a chapter to read each week, on which we had to take a 20 question quiz (3 chances). There was also homework each week that required us to watch videos and write out responses to about 10 questions. 3 discussion board posts were required each week, as well. Midterm & final were both multiple choice. Not bad, overall.
Tucker is sooo funny! I always enjoyed going to her class. She cracked me up. Her tests are pretty standard but you have to study EVERYTHING, especially things she didn't explain (which was a lot since it was a hybrid). If you do that you should be fine. I would definitely reccomend her. LOVED her.
This teacher knows what she teaches. I swear shes the material memorized. However, I took this as a Friday class, and she had a tendency to talk the material to death. The class is okay, but if you don't study you will fail. Overall a good teacher.
terrible teacher. study guides are not what is on the test. She always goes off topic in class. Her tests are hard and she is not very helpful outside of the classroom. I would not recommend this teacher to anyone.
It amazes me to see that there are those who gave professor tucker a bad review. She is extremely passionate, crystal clear, and an overall fun teacher. She has an ability to connect with her students and if you don't sit in the back and play candy crush you will learn a ton and have some laughs as well. I highly recommend her
Pro Tucker has a bubbly personality; she manages to keep you interested in the material while she clearly explains everything and connects different concepts to each other. You must complete quite a chunk of work and two very simple presentations. Tests are slightly tricky and quite long; for first part, focus on details found in chapter summaries.
phenomenal professor. stats is not an easy class, but she makes it as easy as it can get. very fun personality, loud and a lot of energy. don't fall behind with the lessons. there is no better prof for this course. she's smart, caring, and great at explaining complex lessons. will definitely take her for other psych classes in the future!
I took Professor Tucker online in Spring '13. The work was 3 DB posts a week, a weekly quiz, and a weekly assignment. The midterm and final was taken on campus. A 8-9 page paper on a book, which wasn't hard. I got an A on hw assignments and quizzes, but did poorly on the midterm and final, and ended up with a B, which was lucky for me.
Tucker is very nice and talks A LOT. I'm taking her Psyc 10 class and I feel like she's not very clear at teaching. I'm also taking her Psy 30 class online and like that one better. Decent amount of online work and she gives you until sunday nights to finish everything. She uses Aplia for psyc 10 and its really expensive.
Very frustrating. She told us the midterm would be held on campus 2 days prior to the exam and erased the announcement the day of the exam. I didn't check blackboard quick enough to see the announcement and ended up with a 0 on the midterm so I had to drop the class. Quizzes are difficult and you need to study the book to do well.
Email turnaround time is worse than what is expected. For someone who regularly has an online course, she is very behind. HW assignments always has videos that have been taken down or sites that are not up. It's such a hassle to deal with this every week and seems she doesn't really care. Easy class if you don't deal with the professor.
Easy class but what a horrible professor. Her hw is useless & not at all useful for exams. Most of the time the hw links do not even work. She is extremely lazy and always behind on grading, very slow to respond to e-mails and is terrible at communication which is essential for online courses. She really should NOT be teaching an online class.
Dr. Tucker led an awesome online Psych 1 , Intro to Psych, class. All online. The homework and quizzes were based on the book readings for the week and the videos that reinforced the material. Discussion sections were straightforward. She was always willing to help, and did a lot! Exams were directly based on the material, and no curveballs.
I Suggest that you read the book. She responds pretty quickly to emails. She will take the time in emails to ask other questions about how you're doing, so she does care.
Easy course but the professor is HORRIBLE at responding to emails. This class made Fall Semester extremely frustrating. I do recommend taking this course with another professor. Not this one. Save yourself the stress.
You will he grateful you took Stats with her and not another professor. Just do your part (attend every class, turn in assignments on time etc.) and you will get an A.
Took the honors version of this class... She made stats clear for the first time ever. If you are willing to take the time to talk to her, she is very willing to help you to get the grade you want. Its all up to how much you really want the grade! And study the Chapter Summaries-- they are basically all the questions on the Part A exam.
do NOT take her class online. There was no lecture or notes the entire semester, homework had nothing to do with the textbook, and the final and midterm had a lot of questions on them that were not in the book or on the study guide. Overall I wish I had not taken this course online.
This class was great. Although I am not going to be studying behavioral statistics much more, this class gave me a great foundation for basic statistics and the professor really helps you to understand the material. Never had to study for the tests, lecture was all I needed for a good grade. Textbook material also appeared on exams.
TOOK ONLINE CLASS. EXTREMELY IRRESPONSIBLE. SHE NEVER RESPONDS TO EMAILS AND DIDN'T EVEN PUT THE FINAL EXAM UP ON THE DAY OF THE EXAM. SHE IS VERY EASY, BUT SHE DOES HORRIBLE JOB WITH MANAGEMENT.
Dr. Tucker's online class was really stimulating! It was also challenging but definitely enjoyable. It is important to read the chapters assigned weekly so that you can take the quiz and also assimilate for the midterm and final exams. There is also a book you must read (The How of Happiness) and write a paper. Loved this class, recommend highly!!!
Loved her class. She curves the test. Quizzes are pretty managable and her essay questions are interesting.
Dr. Tucker was a huge help to me. She genuinely cares about her students and does everything possible to help you succeed. Great prof totally recommend
Prof Tucker is awesome! very funny. sweet lady who makes psych really enjoyable. Lectures are interesting, but going to have to do most of the studying on your own, she doesnt cover everything from the exams in the lectures, but with a quick glance through the book you will do fine.
Took her for Psyc 10 during this Fall Semester. She's a great teacher and does everything she can to help students out. Very clear on her lectures. 3 exams with pop quizzes and participation points here and there. She does offer extra credit. She's cool. Thought she was a bit annoying though, but that's just me. I recommend her for stats.
She is the consummate professor. The cream of the crop. The nicest, most upbeat, most encouraging one I've ever had. She has so many inspiring and touching stories; she's been through so much but is still willing to be a shoulder for students to lean on. Take her if you can, seriously, you'll get a lot out of her class.
She teaches well and is clear and concise about what she wants to get across. If you don't understand, tell her. She'll clarifyrepeat herself without making you feel stupid. 3 exams, non-cumulative. 1 pop quiz. 4 extra credit opps. If she sees you aren't paying attentionfalling asleep in class, she'll snap her fingers at you (pretty rude imo).
pretty east class. Just expect to do a lot of hw and quizzes every week. 1 midterm 1 final 1 essay. If you do the work and stay on top of your hw and stuff you should do well.
Easy class. Gave lots of assignments on Blackboard but they were straightforward and thought-provoking. Mandatory assignments, quizzes, and discussions every week. 1 midterm, 1 final, and 1 semester paper. She is very nice and helpful. Sent out reminders for assignments and replied promptly to emails. Save money and find the textbook pdf online.
Super nice professor who cares a lot about her students. She can be a little much sometimes (seriously, most perky professor I've ever had), but she'll really do anything for her students. More than happy to answer questions and meet with you outside of class. TONS of extra credit opportunities.
Prof. Tucker is someone who will help you if you are struggling in her class. Although her lectures are very organized and easy to understand, she will stay after class to help you if you are struggling. The two classes I took with her were Psychology 10 and Social Psychology 30. I loved both classes & would love to take another class she teaches.
Dr. Tucker is such a great teacher! I was expecting a very difficult class but it really wasn't. It was very interesting and fun. The concepts can be tough to understand if you miss a day or two as well as don't pay attention. Be sure to take notes and read all the chapters. If you don't understand a concept or topic, ASK! She will go over it.
Love this professor! Highly recommend her for stats. Makes stats clear and easy to understand
Easier grader than Cassens because ALL exams are OPEN notes, OPEN book. Isn't she so GREAT, you guys?
We were not allowed open notes or open book. The study guides were not that helpful so go based off of the book. She was inspirational but wish the study guide was a little more detailed.
Professor Tucker is so caring and helpful. I would see her during office hours and she would explain and go over my missed questions on tests with me. Psych 10 is a difficult class but you just have to pay attention in class and do the homework. DONT SKIP A CLASS, it will be really hard to get on track. you NEED to be there! ask questions!!!!
Professor Tucker is very caring, almost too carrying in the motherly way but it's all good. She's obviously very passionate about what she teaches and it definitely shows. She also teaches pretty well. You will do good in this class if you try. Also, do the SPSS binder. Just do it.
Dr. Tucker is a great teacher and I'm taking her again in the Fall but for Honors Statistics she was pretty tough. She always goes off on tangents but somehow always is able to explain the work. Her office hours are iffy because she rarely shows up. She gave a lot of homework for honors stats but I thought she was a great teacher.
I wrote a letter about some difficulties I have been experiencing during the time I took her class, and Tucker never seemed to care. I wrote plenty of emails to her in which she never responded to. She made me feel like she didn't care at all for me, and that is no way to motivate a student.
you can't pass any class without showing up to class, studying, and do the homework. It doesn't mean if you do those things it will be a breeze. I was lost in her lectures. She is disorganized . Her study guides don't reflect what is on the test tells you to read the book- more like memorize Homework is pointless. She talks no writing on the board
1 midterm 1 Final 1 semester paper Start the semester paper early! It's a lot of reading. Read the chapters!! Study guide does not help
Dr. Tucker is great! She is very helpful. Whenever I send her an email regarding questions I have, she replies very quickly and is very glad to help. One time I had an urgent issue that did not allow me to finish my work on time but she understands. I love her! You guys need to take her. Her class is interesting as well.
I tend to be very open with professors and their teaching styles, but this woman is something else. She spends way too much time discussing her personal life, and every 5 seconds she reminds you to listen for no reason. I genuinely believe that if she stayed on task and got through the lecture without distraction, we'd get out 20 minutes early.
Probably the most time-consuming class, the exams are hard to pass with a decent grade even if you are a psych major.
Maybe her in person classes are different, but online my experience thus far has been terrible. She leaves condescending and rude comments on assignments. I have emailed about concerns and how to improve. Instead of responding, she posts rude announcements on canvas then still leaves rude comments on assignments. Her tests are okay, very detailed.
Professor Tucker was amazing in Psych 30 Online. Her lectures were easy, no to much work. If you read the book you will easily pass the class and the test. Whats on her study guides are on her test. S study the guide and you will pass the test if you don't work. Great teacher, and fast responses to emails.
Tucker is AMAZING! She's funny, kind, caring, and very smart. Definitely take this class! I don't have any other Psych classes to take, but if I did I would try and take them with her. She's just so great. You can get an A if you try! 2 tests, 1 final. Online HW. SPSS. Totally do-able. If you have a sense of humor, you'll fall in love with her.
I enjoyed Psych 30 because it is so interesting, I feel in love psychology by taking this class. I hate that there is no clear outline on what the class should focus on for the exams. There is a lot of reading and information to remember for the exams, felt that it's impossible. 1 semester paper, 1 midterm 1 final weekly assignments DB and Quiz
Very time consuming class. Mid/Fin are in person. Smstr ppr had unrealistic expectations w/ 6 research papers to read! Weekly HW was long w/ videos and questions. Overall, it's a TON of work for a basic Psych 1 class which even at UCI is less work and 1/3 of the book. Try to find someone else. Nice person and quickly responds to emails.
The quizzes are straight from the textbook's website. Never read the textbook just went off previous knowledge. Homework you can procrastinate on until about 10:30pm for the 11:59pm Sunday due date. Study for midterm and final and you'll pass. 2 Exams graded heavily. "Book report" not really a book report. Communicates with classes online a lot.
I really loved this class and most of my classmates did too. Prof Tucker is a very engaging/animated/hilarious lecturer and as a person she was very encouraging, kind, and warm. Her assignments are doable and interesting and she isn't a super tough grader. Tests and quizzes were easy. Start the semester paper early!
it is important to read the chapters every week & use the study guide as a guide on what to read. Also, learn & memorize the vocab on the study guide & you will pass the final. It is a lot of work but follows my advice & you will do great. 1-semester paper & I suggest getting the audio book for the book. 2 exams, weekly DB, quizzes, & assignments
Great and understanding professor. Had a grade mix up at the end of the semester and she allowed me to fix it. Just do your weekly work.
I took the class hoping to learn more about PTSD since I'm a veteran. I was a bit disappointed that there was only 1 paragraph on the subject in the textbook. I put more effort into the loads of writing in this class to get an A than I did to get an A in Anatomy. Far too much work to feel like I learned little to nothing.
Easy class i just thought the material was boring. She is a kind person but not a great teacher. Talked a lot about her personal life which was irrelevant for a stats class. Read the textbook chapter summaries to do well on exams. She is a very fair teacher!
Prof Tucker's office hours is useful, but you always have to wait a long time, no appointment accepted. She doesn't provide lecture slides nor instructions on assignments. You need to figure out based on her explanation in class! which means you must go to class and those explanations are sometimes vague and confusing which made me ask her twice.
This class is entirely based off of conducting your own research experiment and writing an APA formatted paper. As long as you put in quality work and ask questions where you're uncertain, you'll be fine. There are only 2 tests based off of the book.
Got 100% on everything except the midterm. Still ended up with a B. When I emailed to ask about my grade she never replied. Shes a nice person but a solala teacher. My advice: go to class and try to get an A on everything, which means read!!
Professor Tucker is awesome, you won't regret taking her class. Seriously read the book, go to class, and ask questions when needed. Do her assignments it's not hard and you will pass the class. Her exams are easy because I used her study guide as a guide on what to read each week and it is basically whats on the exams.
I'm not going to lie I skipped class quite a few times. However, professor Tucker was one of the meanest professors I've ever taken. I had lost a friend to suicide that semester and she was nothing but inconsiderate and made me cry. She gave me an F and then told me I'm not allowed to take her class again and that she would not enroll me. Horrible!
She's an okay professor but I don't see what all the hype is about her. I love cassens and think he's the best professor who teaches psychology.
Easy online class. To be completely honest everything she taught was pretty simple, the basics are important to know but it's somewhat boring. Study guides and midterm paper posted first class so you're already prepared. Weekly discussions, homework, and quiz. All easy A. There's a textbook but you don't really need it if you have internet access.
Easy A. She doesn't always take attendance but she collects scantrons at random for credit. Leacture heavy, kind of boring, but she takes the time to explain information. Have to buy a text and work book (together less than $180). Online homework. Much easier than other stats 10 and psych 10 classes. She's a little much but on the caring side.
I have never been successful in any form of math class except for this one. Kari truly cares about her students, she tells you exactly what you need for exams, is very fair, and does not give BS work. I truly feel that if you have failed a course while having her it is your own fault as she really does her best to clarify and help when asked.
Online class, very easy A. Easy weekly assignments, two exams. She provides study guides which is so awesome. The only problem I had was both times I got my exams proctored she actually never sent my exam over when I had her confirmation prior that she had indeed sent them. Also she took a week to email back one time, which is way too long.
Professor Tucker is a wonderful teacher. She genuinely cares for her students and wants them to do well. Her class can be challenging, but if you pay attention, take good notes, do the readings, and go to her office hours you'll receive an A. She is undoubtedly the best teacher a student could ask for.
She is an amazing professor. I had her for the 6 week online course instead of the 8 week course so she adjusted a lot of deadlines and offered as much EC as she could because she kept saying how she understands that this course goes a lot faster and that we need help. She responds to emails quickly. 3 exams, 2 in person and 1 online, drops lowest.
She is AMAZING. I have never seen a professor care so much about their students like she does. She goes above and beyond. If you want to succeed as a student she will help you. She see's potential in everyone, which gives you motivation to do your best. There is online homework, a couple quizzes and 3 exams. Attend class and you'll do great.
If you learn in class, u don't need to do much preparation for the exams outside of class. Easy A as long as you do your work, learn during lectures and show up. Showing up on time gives you free points. My only complaint is that she talks a little too much and says "listen, don't get distracted" way too often which is distracting by itself.
Love her! Her class was laid out very clearly- a weekly assignment, discussion, and quiz (1 HR a week at most), a midterm, and a final. The midterm and final we're very hard- a lot of information. But if you do good on everything else it is not a big deal. Take this class online! Easy.
Couldn't have asked for a better professor, especially with an online class. Her criteria is clearer than day and it is easy to follow. She gives you study guides and makes the class interesting. She also engages with her students (online) if something becomes amiss.
She is a great professor. She answers any question that you have and helps you understand the content. The midterm and the final were in person. There is a lot of reading that you will need to do in order to pass. Do all the assignments and really use the study guide that she provides because it helps a lot for the midterm and final.
I love this lady! This class was a lot of work outside of class but the work makes the tests a piece of cake. She is so helpful and makes class enjoyable. But, be ready to work!
The midterm and final makes up your whole grade. I studied and prepared weeks for them and I got a C and B. I knew everything on the study guide. I got a 100% on all the other assignments but I ended with a B. I am genuinely upset and annoyed. I would not recommend taking her!!!
She is kind of rude. She is not very professional because there are many mistakes on the assignment instructions. Her feedbacks on grades prove that she does not know what she assigned. Or she forgot because she does not update/fix the assignments.
Actually one of the nicest teachers I've ever seen here. Caring, accessible outside class. Keeps saying "LISTEN" in lectures but I think that's because she cares enough to make sure we don't fall behind. Super easy to contact (through CANVAS). Online homework (SPSS and Cengage). Has binder you have to purchase and can use on exam! Books are $$$+
Prof Tucker is hilarious. She has the funniest stories ever!! Her lectures are about 35% on the test and everything else you need to study on your own BUT she gives you a study guide. Her class is extremely easy. I didnt pay much attention and still ended up with an A. She is very sweet and caring!! DEF take her class!!
Professor Tucker's online class was super straight forward and she is willing to help her students with Canvas, the classwork, and etc. She is super understanding and nice. She leaves little notes on your submitted assignments whether it's a "Good Job" or some points on how to get full credit on your next assignment. She offers extra credit as well
She's a nice professor and her laugh sounds like Elmo lol. Her class is easy if you put in the effort. The work load isn't bad, but the whole grade is dependent on exams...
This was my 4th class with Prof. Tucker. She is the BEST!! Her love for education shines and makes learning so much easier. She also loves to help her students get research opportunities and more. TAKE HER
Took this class online because of the pandemic. I maintained a high B throughout the semester and thought I would pass with an A but did poorly my paper and it dropped me over 14%. I emailed her a few times and she replied once then ignored everything else, fun!
The teacher is EXTREMELY rude. She yells out students name during class for not paying attention. And even worse, she dropped my final exam grade from A to C- because she suspected that I was using calculator instead of fomula on sheet, because work didn't match the answer. When I asked her where it didn't match, she just said that it is somewhere.
that was my second course i took with her and she honestly is the best. the term paper is VERY straight forward. all the questions she asks on the term paper is straight out of the book. she is super caring and understanding. by far one of the best psych teachers you can take at ivc
Took her class and I was really putting in my best effort. I was not a fan of her notes, it's nice that she records them but you are not able to go back and study her notes since she draws them on an iPad. Also, she wants you to copy the iPad have the book open and write down the formulas in a seperate book all at once. The homework didn't help
Kari is AMAZING! If you're a psych major, you HAVE to take at least one of her classes; it'd be a crime if you didn't! She is an amazing instructor and will help you gain your footing in the psych world. You'll learn so much and it's so easy to stay engaged in her classes. She cares about her students more than any other professor I've ever had.
I've had Kari as a professor for 4 classes! Psyc 10, Psyc 37, Psyc 33, and Psyc 2. She is my absolute favorite professor with great advice and insight, no matter your major. She will never leave you unprepared for assignments or exams, but if you don't show up or participate, you'll struggle.
Not enough space to describe Kari as a person and educator! Kari is thoroughly engaged with her students and LOVES discussing her subject matter. I took this course for Honors credit and GE math but ended up leaving each class with a new perspective on life. She is absolutely wonderful, lets you use a notebook on exams; 3 data projects using JASP.
Professor Tucker is an amazing teacher and person! She cares about the students and puts a lot of effort to make the course material understandable and easy to follow. Her lectures are super interesting and relatable. Time really flies by. Assigned work loads are reasonable and easy to do. Her exams are not tricky . Revising well is enough for A
Professor Tucker is excellent in her Zoom class environment. She is encouraging and offers plenty of opportunities for questions and class discussion. She has been able to mimic a real classroom with the use of technology and screen sharing. She helps the material come to life by telling stories with real-world examples of the concepts she teaches.
She is legit the nicest and most understanding professor/person Ive ever met. Especially with covid she is super understand and accommodating to every student. I honestly would take every single one of her classes. Shes an A+ teacher.
Professor Tucker is a very caring and flexible teacher. She dropped our lowest exam and quiz scores and allowed us not to do not one homework and not lose credit. She is also always willing to help and cares a lot about students' understanding. She was a bit unfamiliar with Canvas and had a few technical issues, but I know she tried her best.
The course wasn't too bad. I think making it online made the class easier, and I still learned quite a bit.
Psyc10 was a somewhat difficult topic to understand. The key to getting a good grade in that class is showing up, listening, and participating in the lectures (she also uses her IPAD to teach which helps visually). It all seems a bit confusing at first, especially since you'll be using a new program (JASP) but you'll pick up quicker than you think!
Professor Tucker is easily one of the best professors I have had. Her class is not difficult and she graded quickly. She is gives extensions and is very understanding. There is a lot of reading but its not too bad. The assignments are easy and overall I would recommend taking her.
I had this class all online and it was not hard. 9/10. one of my easiest classes to get through. She always responds and actually wants the best for us. There is he, so it's a no hw class, but she does not grade hard and it's like 2 or 3 assignments a WEEK.
Though this class has a lot of assignments, they are all fascinating and pretty easy to do. This professor is very accommodating to her students, especially during covid. If you are struggling, just reach out and she will do anything she can to help. I would definitely take this professor again.
Loved her! Only issue was she gets off topic on lectures and it can be really difficult to concentrate when she trails off so often. She also kind of bulldozes questions so it is difficult to get your answer without her going off topic. Really cares, really fun/informative. 3 exam weekly chapter module, basically entire semester spent on one paper.
Very rude of a professor. Theres a ton of reading so get ready for that part of this course. She makes students feel like a burden when asking questions and gives people rude remarks. Theres also a paper due thats single spaced.
homework twice a week, 3 tests. drops lowest of both. As it was an online class, she uses proctorio. If proctorio kicks you out of the test then you cant retake it generally. Beware if your computer is unreliable, she'll just tell you to go to the library Dunno if it was because it was summer, but she was really inaccessible. content wasnt too hard
Loved Professor Tucker's class overall. There is A TON of homework though- I took the 6 week summer course and barely squeezed my assignments out on time. So much reading as well, but honestly you can do research online for answers. The class material is interesting and isn't difficult at all.
Kari was such a nice person, she goes off topic frequently during lectures, but i didn't mind it i liked listening to her stories. Three exams lowest dropped, lowest homework assignment dropped, super easy. i took this over the summer so it was going super quickly, but the content is so easy it didn't matter. she gives points for attendance
Like the other students mentioned, she was rude and didnt seem to care about her asynchronous classes. When she finally decided to respond to emails she always came off annoyed. This class had a ridiculous amount of work so be prepared to struggle balancing your other classes with this one. It is only an easy A bc she skims and copies her tests.
She claims to care about her students but she doesnt. Even her favorite students were treated coldly she says she is just being fair but theres a difference between being fair and simply being rude and impossible. The class was confusing because she never explained things properly and everyone was always confused in the class. Good luck!!!
Lovely teacher and super insightful. She really wants her students to succeed and is always available to help. She is a great person and I am glad I took her class!!
Professor Tucker was nice and understanding. If you give effort, that's a huge thing for any class, and it really pays off. Just work hard and complete the assignments. There is a semester paper on a novel, which is quite interesting, and if you start early it won't be too difficult. She answers Canvas emails quickly and allows Zoom appointments.
She does not care about her students. She never responds to her emails even though she claims that is the best way to reach her. When she does answer she'll just tell you to look at the syllabus and she is very rude about it as well. I would not take one of her classes again!
This class is a mess. She's disorganized and does not respond to emails to clarify things. Homework directions are confusing and is not graded until a month or more after it was due. Lectures are full of random stories that don't relate to subject material and content is practically taught in a patronizing way. Would not recommend.
You definitely need to read to pass, but the course itself isn't difficult at all and has been one of my easier classes. The assignment load is average, and it's the exact same structure every week which is very useful. She has also been kind whenever I've contacted her.
This class was a mess. She was passive aggressive constantly and at one point dropped students from the Zoom and wouldn't let them log back in because they didn't respond to her immediately. She acts childish, calls students annoying, and overall treats students like elementary school kids. Course material is easy but you don't learn much from her.
If you're trying to contact her outside of class hours, you will not get a response. like ever. Also, study guides are so important. If you know the study guides you will be perfect for tests. However, when she says to start the semester paper at the beginning of the semester, do it.
Her online lectures are helpful, but they contradict the book and she states that knowingly multiple times. She creates an atmosphere of elitism and passive aggression so if you're a shy or nervous person do not take her classes.
Need to have some sense of statistics.
one assignment, one discussion board, one quiz every week and 2 exams. semester paper is easy 100% if you try but start it early because you need to read a several hundred pages long book. 96.67%
pretty easy class if you read the textbook. 1 assignment 1 discussion board 1 quiz each week and 2 exams. start semester paper early and you will get 100% on it. 98.47%
The best class I've ever taken, and I don't even like Psych. She grades very clearly, with only 2 written assignments, and one multiple choice quiz per week. She also is incredibly lax when it comes to aid, and offers all advantages to everyone, for my class she dropped our two lowest assignments from every category (6 in total) and it was easy A
The online text book is tedious. There is no clear understanding of what to study for exams. Exams have tricky questions. She is totally elitist. Discussion board topics are triggering and I don't think she monitors them well. Required to read 500 page book and write a book report on it which is written by Philip Zimbardo who is a terrible person.
The class itself is not difficult, but the professor is. Lectures are unclear and rambly, and she has the tendency to go on tangents. IF YOU HAVE DSPS ACCOMMODATIONS DON'T BOTHER. Embarrasses DSPS students with their cameras off in front of the class even if it's a part of their accommodation. Overall passive-aggressive and unaccommodating.
I wanted to give this Prof. a good rating. I took her statistics class last semester and it was a good experience. However, this year has been the opposite. Several times she has broken into rants during lectures and one even went as far as what I'd call a tantrum. Afterwards, she deleted all the lecture recordings which screwed over us students.
Went very fast and hardly would review concepts. made people feel stupid for asking questions or would dismiss them. hardly any help offered. not understanding of circumstances.
Such a kind professor. Easy and prompt responses, very reasonable workload. The assignments are a bit tough each week, but quizzes are open-note and can be taken 3 times for the best score. You can tell she loves her job and takes time to reach out and congradulate students for good work. If you have the chance, take her class!
It was the exact same thing every week which is nice so you know what to expect. The term paper is easy but start early because it is a lot and involves reading a whole book. She was sweet and the work wasn't a lot but the tests were hard and the study guide was several pages long and did not help at all. Allowed test retakes.
she was very good at explaining how each different test worked in stats.
For research methods, it was mostly just designing and writing a paper in APA format. The textbook is online with little modules and quizzes to do. The professor was just alright. She has no emotional intelligence and there was this weird elitist attitude that made students get on their knees to please her. The APA manual is your best friend here.
The exams are not very well made and the discussion posts get very personal sometimes, which I did not like. The homework isn't that much, just some reading, a 2-4 page writing assignment, and a discussion post every week. If that's your cup of tea, then this class is easy but beware the professor might not answer all of your questions.
If you want a teacher who is consistently unprofessional, late to class, late to the FINAL, doesn't respond to your messages, and a class where you will only rely on your fellow classmates through discord just to pass, this is the class for you! SUCH an unorganized class- all semester has been a struggle. My entire class was stressed all semester.
I am so glad I took this class with Prof. Tucker because: (1) Textbook was clearly written and easy to understand (though bit too long), (2) weekly hw, quiz, discussions were very easy, (3) Two exams (mid & final) were somewhat challenging, but if you USE her study guide, ANYONE can get A in her class. Plus she's got ECs to help boost your grade!!!
She tends to ramble on and go on tangents outside of the class subject. This made the class slightly more difficult only because she doesn't have any written instructions so you have to play it by ear, which can be frustrating. She can be unclear with her instructions at times. The workload was pretty manageable and she is very helpful when needed.
Straightforward class. There's an assignment, discussion board, and psyclearn quiz due at the end of every week. One semester paper. The tests are a bit tricky but you are able to have written notes to assist you. Not much teacher and student interaction and it can be difficult to keep ahold of her. Easy class though.
There are 2 midterms (25%), Semester paper(15%), Weekly quizzes(10%), assignments(20%), and canvas discussions(5%). She will drop one of everything mention above except for midterms & semester paper. Quizzes is easy you get 3 tries; she will convert everything 70% or higher to 100% but if its below 70% it's a 0%. Start your semester paper early!!
Really kind professor. The assignments are relatively easy. Definitely would take her class again.
Absolutely horrible experience, the worst professor I have ever had, I had to retake this class because she was so unfair, even my peers that were in the same project as me were shocked and agreed shes a very tough and unfair professor, makes no sense. Take any other professor.
I took psychology online with Dr. Tucker, and I've never needed to message her. All her expectations are clearly written out in the syllabus as well as the assignment descriptions. She grades everything very easy and was very kind with grading. She drops a Test, Quiz, Discussion Post, and Canvas Assignment at the end of the semester. Love her.
every week you have 3 things to do; an assignment, a DB, and a quiz. I did all three on the same day and it would take me about 4 hours MAX! Semester paper was easy and was on a wonderful (short) book. Super easy to pass the course if you follow the study guide and READ THE TEXTBOOK! I LOVED this class, super fun, pretty easy, and overall great!
Don't take this professor ever! She would ramble a lot and go off on tangents that did not relate to the lecture. There was also times when we would submit assignments and receive reponses back to just see her. Furthermore, after even meeting her she would not tell us everything and made us guess on what was required. She really isn't worth it.
3 assignments each week: discussion board, assignments, and quizzes. The quizzes are not timed and you get 3 tries. Anything above a 70% is an auto 100 for the quizzes She will drop the lowest score from each assignment at the end. One semester paper that can be tedious so don't wait to start on it. Finished the class with 100%
I didn't know she won teacher of the year once, we WELL deserved! Her criteria is very straight forward, our online class had 3 assignments every week, a quiz, a discussion, and an Assignment(which is answering questions after watching video). She gives great feedback and is so nice and easy to reach. Definitely recommend, she really cares!
Not terrible, but not what I needed in an INTRO research class. She is unclear in her due dates and tends to upload assignments later on with no communication, causing lots of people to turn things in late. She is passionate about her job but rambles a TON and gets off topic. Overall disappointing, which makes me sad to say because she's very nice.
Very poorly organized class, assignments are easy but the class has so many issues. The study guides are awful and unhelpful. Some assignment questions arent even aligned with the book. She is also hard to reach out to and kind of passive aggressive. The material is not difficult, the teacher makes it difficult only because she is so disorganized.
She is a nice professor but has an elitist vibe. She repeatedly says that if you have not taken HER stats class you won't understand Psych 2's work, but I took a different stats class and understood perfectly well. Does not explain things well and does not include descriptions of assignments on Canvas. Do not take this class, she is not helpful
Psych 1 with Professor Tucker is a fantastic choice. Her laid-back and engaging teaching style makes the class enjoyable and accessible. The course is well-organized on Canvas, making navigating and keeping track of assignments easy. A wonderful professor who makes learning fun and straightforward. I highly recommend taking her classes!
easy class, if you want a GPA booster, take her. She's very organized; three assignments each week, all due on Sunday, and she drops one set of the 3 assignments at the end of the semester. one midterm, one final, and one semester paper.assignments you can just use Google; over all, very easy class, probably the easiest class iv ever taken at ivc.
Professor Tucker is a sweet and caring teacher. This class is not difficult but it was one day a week so we had to watch online videos from other class lectures. Practice the math problems before the test and watch the online videos and you will get an A. Prof. Tucker answers questions very well and is super nice, you will enjoy her lectures.
Prof. Tucker's PSYC1 class is a great GPA booster. The workload is manageable, with weekly assignments, quizzes, and discussions that can be easily completed. Unstuckstudy AI is a helpful tool for study prep, alongside the provided study guides. Overall, a solid and rewarding class.
This was an online summer course that I took. It was easy and engaging if you followed the material and kept up with the due dates. Not many big assignments aside from weekly discussions and one research paper due at the end of the semester. Easy A
By far my favorite psych prof yet. Just beware she is a talker! She makes lectures fun, is very connected to students, and gives many opportunities. For the classes I've take,n she drops your lowest test score and just counts the higher 2.
She was an okay professor. If you do the work and don't procrastinate you should be good however, unclear instructions sometimes, replies to questions late at night and her study guide isn't much help for exams. This class is pretty much teaching yourself from the textbooks. Exams focus more on diagnosing people.
Yap city, try not to fail the tests otherwise you will probably be COOKED. Tests will be curved throughout the semester
I absolutely loved having this professor, you can tell she cares about every student she has and wants them to succeed. However, if you are not a fan of professors who rant and go on tangents, I would not suggest her in person class. I loved it and found a lot of her stories very impactful and interesting, but know it is not for everyone.
Took psyc10 last semester and loved it. I was initially worried ab the course, but prof explained everything very thoroughly and allowed us to use a "cheat sheet" on tests, which were workbooks she designed. However, I recommend paying attention, participating, and not missing class often otherwise it could be difficult.
The professor is not bad(it was mostly just reading the textbook because it is online , but the midterm was tough. It tested us on various situations and how some psychological concepts apply to it. However, if you did not know the definitions of certain terms cold, it is really hard. She does allow extra credit and 1 piece of handwritten notes.
The requirements for this class are clear and straightforward. however, the homework has so many typos and questions that make NO sense or don't correlate with the video assignment, so it is frustrating. she randomly takes off points without an explanation. No late work accepted, but the workload is very manageable.
Great professor and clear assignment instructions. One semester paper based on book you read but other than that not a tough grader on the paper. She is very caring and funny and truly cares about her students. Take her class!
Dr.Tucker is a nice professor! There were 2 exams both proctored 75 pts. Allowed a cheat sheet front and back. She does care about students! Easy to reach out too and is willing to help! One semester paper. Assignments were watching videos and answering the questions, easy quizzes, and discussions. 70% or higher on a quiz is a 100%.
She does ramble in her lectures, but that does make her fun and entertaining. I took her for psych30 thats why I took her for psych10. She uses psychlearn as homework. She does make you do JASP homeworks, but its pretty easy bc of the workbook she makes it has everything in there. She is also very understanding and responsive with email.
Each week you get one assignment, one quiz, one discussion board. All are easy to complete in a timely manner because it's clear. The quizzes help prepare you for the 2 exams. The semester paper looks intimidating, but as long as she sees you put effort, you get full points! I recommend taking her for every psych course.
Kari Tucker is a great person, but the class was pretty unorganized. The hw questions literally didn't even correlate with the reading/video and there were so many typos it felt like there was no effort put into the assignments. The grading is pretty fair though, as long as you do your homework its an easy A. there was 1 paper and 2 tests.
She's very nice. Goes on side tangents at least once a class and they occasionally turn into rambles. Definitely knows the content and how to explain it in a comprehensible manner. Clear expectations and strictly abides by the syllabus. Engaging class! She has a great personality. Shouldn't take her if you dislike yappers, but overall easy class.
weekly quizzes, assignments that require a couple of videos to watch which are interesting. Definetly doable, very light workload if not waiting till the last second. I believe it does require a textbook but I couldn't find where to get it and it was really expensive online, but I was able to do alright without it.
Super manageable class! workload pretty light just a module and jasp output (she literally walks you through each one in the WB). Strict no late work regardless of situation, but she's super caring. she YAPS, so b prepared to listen, but she's thorough in explaining the material. open book exams (not for MCQ) for calculations, loved her!
Great professor for online classes! She is so sweet and understanding. I had some trouble trying to get set up on Psych Learn, but she was so kind and helpful about it. She responds very quick as well. You do have to pay for the program, but its super easy to use and very helpful for tests! Tests are proctored so be sure to study!!
A bit on the stricter side, but is really kind and helpful. Very easy to communicate with and will always do her best to help you with whatever you need! Exams are proctored and usually are about half the book, but she gives very helpful study guides and allows one whole sheet of notes (front and back), but overall helps you understand the content.
Excellent Professor. The whole psych department at IVC should model their teaching after her.
