If you take him, don't plan on taking anything else.
Very hard, but you WILL know your stuff. Very good teacher! I knew his class would be hard before I signed up and I still took it because he's very excited about the subject matter and that makes all the difference.

Karim is the best professor i've ever had. His passion for engineering is surpassed only by his desire to see his students evolve from engineering caterpillars (if you will) to mathematical butterflies.
Nohra expects you to work hard and work a lot; however, he gives you the resources to accomplish what you need to. He is by far the best professor I've had. He teaches concepts AND explains many examples (even old test questions). His "tricks" on tests are just to make sure you've paid attention.
he is hard but teaches well.
Very good professor and advisor.
Good teacher, makes you learn everything
great teach, but hard. just have to work your ass off.
Karim Nohra is the best teacher I have ever had! All of my classmates love him so much and EVERYONE should take his class!!
Nohra is the BEST. If you work hard, you will pass. Highly recommended to take him in the summer (he's easier). If you do the hw, you will pass. Tests are challanging, but rewarding. Best engineering teacher at USF!!!!
You'll learn the material in class.
hard teacher, makes you learn the material to pass. Take him if your a serious student and want to be rewarded later in life. go griff
Nohra it tough, but good at what he does. When you leave you'll know your stuff...if you try.
Nohra by far is the best professor at USF. An excellent teacher if you plan to work hard. He LOVES suck-ups and loves to talk about basketball (especially his girl's high school team). He is also a very attractive professor!
Good teacher, makes you learn your stuff. Grades your exams tough, so dont make mistakes. Seems to know every girls name in class to, lol. Dont get behind in class either.
The guy definitely is complexed in some sort of way. He was either abused as a child or something. I can definitely say he is extremely bitter and angry inside.
He is definately one of the best Professors I have had. He is very busy, however he always tries to find time for his students!
The man is the opposite of compassionate. Is knit picky grader. Many people fail engineering because of him.
You can consider the instructor to be someone who rules with an iron fist. He is someone who does the bare minimum and has a sink or swim attitude.
A very tought professor. He expects his students to know their stuff inside and out. Although he can me a bit harsh deep down inside he dose care for students and I believe that he is an over all good guy. Be ready for test from hell. Although his teaching will leave you with real knowlege, useful for other engineering classes

If you can't pass this class, pack your bags and head to business. Nohra will try to trick you, but if you studied, you should see it coming from a mile away. And when he says there will be pulleys/no pulleys on the test, I wouldn't live by his word.
You will work hard, and you will know your stuff, even though you don't get an "A" in his class. He is tricky, but fair. He does care about his students, when he has the time. he is more judgemental than he needs to be. and what about knowing all the girls names???? before you think about taking Nohra, KNOW your Math. he loves it!
The guy is in the business of getting rid of people. Just like corporate America, where it is survival of the fittest. You can compare him to insurance companies, who get rich off your mistakes. Similarly, the instructor loves to fail people, in fact it makes his day.
The material in Dynamics is a bit esoteric, but Nohra does a good job of explaining it. I took this over the summer, so it was a bit more dense. Do the homework, understand the homework, and get help from Nohra. People shouldn't be taking this class 3 times. . .
I'm glad i took Nohra for this class. No matter what grade I got in the class, I feel like I know the material as best as possible. Study what he says and to the problems he hands out in class, but don't let all the hype about the test psych you out.
Awsome teacher, but do as many practise problems as you can for the tests. 2 of the 4 tests were pretty hard.
Very hard, pain-in-the-ass professor that LOVES to teach. No slacking in his class! I had to take the class twice, only because I thought I could get away with the same kind of studying approach as I had in Chem/Phys. Wrong! Engineering is a serious business, and this professor is the only one in school that can teach you the foundations right.
Best instructor in the Engineering Department. Slackers should avoid him, but will miss out on learning.
Guy is a Stickler! You have to learn the stuff and be able to do it cold if you want to get an A. If you show up to class every day + 5 hrs study/ week you should be able to excape with a B
One of the best teachers ever. He actually TEACHES!!! He has high expectations. Don't go into one of his classes with the idea that you can just get by... because you can't. Homewords are to be extremely neat and tests are a bear. But you will know your stuff by the end of the semester.
You need to work for your grade. I liked the class a lot despite the fact that I'm lazy
If you had him for statics be ready to kick it up a notch. I wouldn't want to learn it from anyone else. Do all recommended problems and you'll be fine. Start studying a week before the test. Despite what people may tell you, Nohra is a very fair professor. Any test with a bad average he usually gives you a chance to make up some points. Good Luck
This Teacher is the best in USF, you can not help not to pay attention in his class because he knows how to keep you awake. His tests are hard, but doable. Just try to find his old quizes and test it helps alottttt..
Great teacher have to study at least one week ahead of time. Practicing old test numerous times is the only way to pass the class. Know good jokes, he will ask for them. Also, knows entire class of 90 by last name and very sarcastic.
Hands down, the best professor I have ever had at USF. I took him for both Statics and Dynamics. Yes, the tests are difficult, but if you put in the effort there is no reason not to do well. Basically, if you can't pass Nohras class you'll struggle to graduate w/ an engineering degree. You really learn what you need to know.
great teacher, hard tests, do homework and youll do fine
Potential to be great, but too pompous and arrogant. Doesn't really encourage students to do well, but rather finds ways to make you fail. Spends too much time joking around and bringing students personal lives into the lecture. Maybe the reason there are so many engineering disasters is because people like him are making things too complicated.
Took him for statics, the class is hard as hell with him because he knows how to make the easiest problems complicated. however, he's probly the best teacher i've had so far at usf. you will learn the material in his class or you can't pass. and if you mess up on the first test dont worry, the third test and the final are easier than tests 1 and 2
Skipping this class is a one way road to failure. Do all homework and take all quizzes for these are easy points. Otherwise drop this class. Nohra loves intimidating students, but if you study your procopy booklet you should be fine. Class is difficult. Payoff is great.
Nohra is an excellent professor. If you want to be an engineer you need to learn your stuff. Nohra will intimidate you, but at the same time, he will teach you whats necessary for you to pass the class. If you want to pass the class, study very hard. Thats why we go to school right (TO STUDY.EXCELLENT PROFESSOR...I WOULD TAKE HIM FOR EVERY CLASS
if you don't like him its because you didn't study hard and your not very smart, b/c he explains everything you need to know in class and gives old test questions in your notes and you can look at old tests online. if you practice working out his tricky problems you will do fine on the test. he's a great teacher!!
I WOULD TAKE HIM FOR ALL MY CLASSES!!!
Hard, but if you study you wil do fine.Explains very well. Funny.I recommend him if you want to learn. If you just want to slide through the class don' even think about it.He will put you on your toes.
Great professor. Hard classes and he will bust your brain. He explains the material expertly and loves making the test averages below 80 percent. Students that do not like him at all should probably be in business school, or maybe philosophy.
the clas was really hard, but it is an engineering class, so you really have to study, if you dont, you will definitely fail. he explains very clearly, and is helpful if any questions too. would advise taking him
He is a great teacher, but he makes the class difficult on purpose. Like with any engineering course you must! Put in the time and work. If you don't you will not pass his class. Those who complain about him are C students who will likely get out of engineering. Makes the class fun and is very clear on what he will spank you on for the tests.
Norha is not teaching on his lectures - he never explains the material. He just re-writes examples from his notes and you need to copy it without even understanding. He grades unfair (and then curve). Thanks God he is not teaching other engineering classes!
Great teacher. You will learn some engineering stuff and pass or learn that you need to switch majors.
if u pay attention into him class, he will pass. No slacking in him class. his beginning test are usually hard to get red off the slacking student. one more thing, he gossip alot in class, he won't help u until u ask for help. if u ask he is there to help u. I had him for Static and Dynamic
Best professor I've ever had. He teaches extremely well, his methods are good, and he makes his students truly know the material or fail. That is the way it should be.
Amazing teacher! Grading aside, I learned so much. He is straight with the class and prepares you well for all tests. Expects you to show up for class and pay attention and if you do, you will get a good grade. I plan on taking him again if I can.
Awesome teacher! I almost failed because the tests are extremely difficult and he expects you to know the material very well but I have never learned so much in one class in my life. Take him but be prepared to work hard. If you are a slacker he will destroy you!
I am taking the same class now with W. Carpenter and he is so easy on us , and his test are fair.and he tests u about the concept not about stupid test like Nohra that he even don't know how to do it.So Just forget about this Nohra guy.Just take someone else or u will be in trouble.
The last review was right, Professor Carpenter is much better than him in every way. I took both of them. Nohra is very hard, avoid him if u can
His grading method is indefensible. I joined a statics class. But, he doesn't grade you on statics. Your answer is 75% of your grade on the test, but each question is 1/2 hour long (his words) "if you know exactly what you are doing." You will make mistakes, and you will be disappointed with your grade. Statics is easy, Nohra is impossible.
I took his dynamics class and he said he will not pass you if you did not know the material. I personally agree because I dont want to drive over a bridge that someone built who barely passed this class. if you failed his class, there is a reason. You probably shouldn't be an engineer.
Nohra is the best professor I have ever had who teaches you everything u need just perfect ,but he is the hardest too.just work hard and don't take more than 12 hours if you took him, cuz u will have to study a lot to pass this class .
Best professor I have ever had. Unfortunately, it was also the hardest class I have ever taken in my life. Do the homework because the only way you learn the material is by a lot of practice. The tests are ridiculously hard, but apparently everyone fails so there is a curve for them.
Great teacher! Toughest I've taken at USF, but totally worth it. Be prepared to study your butt off.
took him for statics. this class is hard. lots of HW. tests are over the top hard. but if you work hard you will pass. im talking 10-15hours a week studying. i think he is a great teacher. i think the ones that dont didnt want to work hard.
Nohra is an amazing teacher. He will metaphorically hold up his hand and tell you he will hit you with it, and then ask why you're surprised when you're not ready. This class is not for idiots, if you have a hard time in either of his classes, then you better find out where the dance majors hang out.
Great proffesor. Tests are hard but if you know the material you can do well. Anybody who complains about his style is just making excuses for failing. He will keep you interested and if you are prepared and can keep up you will learn plenty
he is the best professor you will ever have. his tests are difficult but he tells you what to expect crystal clear, his first test is always the hardest to scare you, dont drop after the first tests bad grade. his lectures are extraordinary, you will learn everthing you need if you show up and pay attention. plus he just makes class outright fun.
had him for Statics and Dynamics. He's the best professor there is at USF, hands down. He lets you know exctly what's gona be on the test, all you have to do is do is practice the hw probs over & over. Tough class, but you will learn a lot. Don't let the first test scares you, getting an A in this class requires lots of practicing probs.
Best teacher I have ever had in my entire life. Loves to joke around and interact with the students which was fantastic because it keeps the entire class very interested. Visisbly shows each class how passionate he is about teaching. I have never clearly learned more material in one class than this one, and most of that credit goes to Nohra.
Awesome professor! Basic training drill sergeant style. Loved his jokes. USF is lucky to have him to teach.
Excellent professor, not an easy A, but certainly doesn't try to throw any curve balls. Very straight forward and entertaining as well. Loved him, go to class and study, you'll do fine. Thank you Nohra for a great summer course!
Oh what to say about Nohra. Excellent instructor, tests on exactly what he says hes going to test on. His crude sense of humor and political incorrectness will keep your focus throughout class. DO EVERY PROBLEM IN THE BOOK. If you do not, you are going to fail. You must do more problems than he assigns and learn that mess backwards and forwards.
Hmmm....very sarcastic. Expects students to learn the stuff. Talks to much sometimes about how hard his class is instead of teaching the material. Talks very quick and answers a few questions. Does answer questions in office hours. Quizzes are hard and very confusing bc you never know what will be on them.
You will learn much more than Dynamics in this course. Nohra teaches the methodology and time management necessary to become a successful engineer. Also, any student's Calculus deficiencies arise during Test 1. He learns about his students and is not afraid to call on students for answers. The quizzes are based on the textbook information.
Tells you exactly what to expect. Don't bother studying the textbook, do old exam problems. His notes/book from pro copy will get you through the course. I opened the textbook maybe once, got a B in the course. One of the best professors I've had.
THE best professor I have had at USF. He lets you know what to expect and is extremely fair. Smart guy. If you can see past his eccentric personality, then you will want to be in his class. He is funny as hell and teaches incredibly well. I find myself, as well as my peers, having fun in his class and looking forward to future classes with him.
Nohra is THE BEST professor I have ever had at USF and in general. I can honestly say that I know Statics because of him. You won't necessarily get good grades with him since his tests are insanely hard, but his teaching style is awesome, you will never get bored in class and you will know statics like the back of your hand. TAKE HIM!!
Stupidly hard for most people but he's good. Really good. And has a very dirty sense of humor which was hilarious. He's gonna be your civil engineering advisor for 2+ years so make friends
Will absolutely whoop your butt if you do not do all of the assigned work PLUS at least double the amount of problems he has assigned. This course/professor is not for anyone except those fully dedicated to their classwork and are ready and willing to make the sacrifice of practice outside of class for AT LEAST 30 hours a week. Very hard, very good.
This guy knows what he's doing but he is hard. Go to class and always do all the homework. Tests get easier through the semester.
His exams, and quizzes are tough but he is a great teacher. If you do what he says(practice more than just homework and attend class), you should do very well. He is not unfair. If you show him your improvement, he might just give you an A.Passionate teachers like him are especially hard to find at U.S.F. specifically in engineering. Finish homework
Great professor. He really knows what he's doing. Hard tests but they get easier through the semester. Do all the homework and go to every class. He's very fair about grading. If you don't pass this class it's completely your fault. Just be willing to put the necessary time into this class.
Second time I have taken a class with Nohra. Great professor, very willing to help in office hours and is fair about grading. You must do problems every day to do well on exams and should do not miss a single class, especially the help sessions because that is when he will work problems from old exams to give you an idea of what they are like.
taking him now and i like him, even though he his quizzes and test are hard and his homework has to be done in a certain way, he makes sure that you understand statics, test problems combine multiple chapters to make sure you know how to apply the concepts he teaches in the real world. dont be lazy, he will destroy you
Fantastic teacher, arguably the best. He is funny in class, and teaches the material very well. As long as you go to class and do the homework you can make it through the class, but to ace it you will have to work every day.
Very tough professor but he will teach you the material. The tests are difficult but study from the procopy book along with old test questions and you will do okay. 3 tests plus a final. First test is the hardest. There were about 11-12 quizzes and 2 hw assignments. I recommend him but don't take this class with a full load.
one of the toughest professors I've ever taken. I DON'T RECOMMEND HIM AT ALL.
You will not do well in engineering if you dont get statics. Take nohra if you want to learn. Sure he is tough, but I bet I learned more than other people at more "prestigious" universities. If you just wanna pass and be a bad engineer take someone else. He is unavoidable for dynamics though. Get used to him and his teaching style early w/ statics.
I'm going to be blunt, Nohra is a phenomenal professor who has had enough experience in the field to undoubtedly know what he's talking about. His tests are tough--do old test problems and Pro Copy problems to prepare--but his style of teaching is like no other that I've had at the University. I recommend him especially if you have to take Dynamics
Great teacher overall, explains material very well. There is a quiz every week on average but the problems are straight from the book. His tests are tough, he will not pass you if you don't have a good understanding of the material. If you have to take dynamics definitely take him for statics. He doesn't care to help student who are not hot chicks.
If you do what he says you might pass. Do 5 problems everyday and it won't be that hard. He will do 2 fair problems and 2 hard problems on each test. GL
Nohra is very good in teaching the materials. three tests, first two are very hard, third test is easy, as he said. " i want you to struggle in the first two tests and the last one is my gift to you". my advice is to take statics in the summer because homeworks and quizzes worth 25% while it usually worth less than 10% because there is a final exam
Nohra is a great lecturer no doubt. I say, if you want to REALLY learn statics, take him, but if you want to pass statics, don't take him. He makes his tests VERY VERY hard for no particular reason. 1st test, I studied the hardest I have every studied (and that's saying something, I have a Master's degree) and still got a 54. Average was below 50.
Professor Nohra is very clear with his work. If you're looking for a class just to pass then engineering isn't for you. This class really is the basis for engineering students going into mechanical and civil. How to make it through his class with an A or B: 1. Attend every lecture 2. Consult some Youtube videos for clarification
Great teacher, lots of experience. If you're just taking his class then he's been teaching longer than you've been alive. Tough tests, but if you follow his instructions passing is not impossible. weekly quizzes and not much HW to help with your grade. Don't bring someone you know to class and expect him not to notice, cause he will.
The test are DIFFICULT but he gives you everything you need to pass. Do all of his suggested problems and you'll be fine.
Nohra's classes are the definition of weed out. Incredibly hard, but he will tell you exactly what to expect. Study, Study, Study and do book problems and old tests till you are blue in the face, then do more. If you show good effort, you will probably pass.
I failed this class with Nohra in Fall 2014. In Spring 2015, I'd estimate that 60% of my classroom is filled with other students that also failed Nohra's Statics. Nohra will keep the class entertained and interested, but he enjoys throwing curveballs on his exams. Understanding the homework he assigns, alone, is not enough to pass this class.
Nohra is probably the hardest professor I've ever taken. I didn't really study for the first test so did worse than the average. My advice get better than 60 on the 1st test and you'll do fine. Studied my ass off for the rest of the semester and barely passed. Make sure you do 5 problems everyday and you'll do fine. Good luck!
Professor Nohra is the toughest teacher I've ever had. You really have to work for your grade. His grading scale is reasonable since he knows his class is insane, so that's a fair consolation. He assigns manageable weekly homework and pop quizzes maybe every 3 weeks. He cares about his students and is a fun teacher. Be ready to work.
Nohra is probably the best professor and the most difficult professor you will ever take. I'd go as far as saying he one of the best teachers of Statics and Dynamics in the entire country. If you have the option to take him, do it. You'll understand the material much better than with a different professor.
Had Nohra for Statics and Dynamics. Awesome professor, great lecturer. Grading is 25% (Pop quizzes+ HW), and 25% for 3 tests. Only real complaint is that sometimes he expressed political beliefs and also the pop quizzes were sometimes ridiculous and he was very slow at grading. Challenging but you learn alot. Would recommend taking.
The most knowledgable and difficult professor that I've had. If you focus on his pro copy book and help session problems over the book homework you should do well. The test are typically three questions long and he makes them completely by himself. Either go to him and ask for some old tests to practice or ask other students to see if they do.
Truly a life-changing professor. A no-holds barred type of guy. He expects the most out of his students but definitely puts in his own side of the work. He values the success of his students just as much as he resents passing cheaters. Work hard in this class. I took him for Statics as well and passed comfortably after having worked very diligently
He said I will fail at life. I just asked him a question...
I dont even know where to start. An amazing professor because really cares if students actually learn the material for future classes but you need to do your 5 problems a day because the class is rough. I have him for Dynamics next semester oh boy. Tests are very difficult but if you actually study you can get an A. Not a class you can just cheat.
Tough professor. This is the class you really have to work your tail off a lot. Don't study the day before the exam or you are guaranteed to fail the exam. Study from the first day of class to Exam 1, then after Exam 1 to the next, and so forth. Also, he goes over lots test question which helps with practice and go to the help session!
He is respected by the students and a nice guy too but his exams are from hell as he likes to say. You need to study everyday and do problems until your fingers break down.
Teaches concepts and how to apply them. Gives suggested problems to work out of the book. Do them all. One of the best professors in the department. Actually cares about whats hes doing (educating undergraduate students!) We need more professors like him in the engineering department! I would advise you to get old tests to practice also.
Be careful what you read on here; Nohra has been known to go and post positive comments about himself. He could be a decent instructor but he is virtually unavailable for office hours and makes things overly difficult. I passed and got an A -, only 1 semester afterwards and I don't remember most of what he taught. It is useless for real work.
I think he forgot his Statics and Dynamics because if you go ask him questions during office hours he quickly get frustrated and tells you to get out(without answering the question). He likes attention therefore he will joke and be funny but he isn't really a good instructor. He makes long test, not necessarily difficult.
Avoid if possible, hates to pass students, wants students to fail so he could teach 2 classes the next semester. Gives hard tests, not worth your time. Saw exams from friends in other universities, much much easier. Thinks he is funny and like attention. DO NOT TAKE !
I like Stokes much better, Stokes is just as difficult but a lot better professor. Nohra goes really fast and if you ask him a question he usually ignores it when he doesn't know the answer.
Karim Nohra is hands down, the most inspirational professor i have ever had. He is passionate not only about the material he teaches, but the students he instructs. His years of teaching is evidenced by the comprehensive nature of his exams, which strategically challenges his students to a full and encompassing understanding of the course material
Nohra is by far the best professor I've met. He does go fast explaining examples, but is very knowledgeable about the subject. He is very entertaining and funny. He definitely keeps your atengineer. He may seem a bit abrasive, but he genuinely cares that you know the material. Would you want an engineer building an unstable Building or bridge?
Nohra is by far the best professor I've met. He is very entertaining in class. He challenges you to solve problems like an engineer. He does go fast solving examples, but is always available to answer any questions after class. You can tell he's passionate about what he does, and he really cares about his students.
Not available, can careless if you fail, can't answer questions like an engineer would. But you don't have a choice for dynamics.
Not available, can careless if you fail, can't answer questions like an engineer would. But you don't have a choice for dynamics. I had much better professors where the classes were also challenging but the professors knew effective ways of introducing the material.
Nohra is by far the best professor I've met. He is really passionate about what he teaches and very helpful. He gives you everything you need to do well in his class. Of course that means you have to put forth the effort. Do all of his suggestive problems and practice the ones in his procopy. If you don't put the time in, he will kick your butt.
Does a couple of examples and then take the rest of the time to make fun of students.
I studied my ass off and still failed. The material is easy but Nohra makes this class REALLY hard for no reason. Get ready to study pretty much EVERYDAY. My advice: study with friends, go to tutoring and be aware of what's going on in class because you'll have pop quizzes.
He is a very tough professor, but that's what I love about him. He is preparing you for the rest of your engineering career by introducing you to solving problems differently than just regurgitating homework problems on the exams. He is passionate about you *actually* knowing the material. Study and you get the result you deserve. HIGHLY recommend!
If you can get a 35 or better on the first test just ride it out and don't withdraw. I got a 33 on my first test and got As on my 3rd test and final and ended up passing. His first test is from hell and the material will make you feel terrible. 2 things are for sure: this class will consume your nights, and Nohra will teach you a few dirty jokes
Nohra is exactly what you hear about. Straightforward and to the point. I took him for Statics and passed the first time. After the first test it does it a tad bit easier but his tests are truly from hell. Every single concept will be thrown onto problems. He's funny so that makes class go by faster. Just study and practice old tests every week
Very hard subject with a very tough professor. He doesn't pass back quizzes or exams so there's not much feedback. I'd go to his office hours but I was always too nervous.
Studyyyyy alotttt. Do lots of homework and you will maybe pass. Not straightforward exams so you need to know your stuff.
I took Nohra and got a D+, took Stokes and got an B-. It's a hard class but Nohra's attitude will bring you down and add more unnecessary pressure.
He told me once that about 50% of his Statics class and Stoke's gets a D, F, or drops out. That seems about right.
Best teacher at the school. His tests are hard, but if you do all your HW problems and the old tests, you'll be fine.
Nohra is tough professor. He assigns homework rarely, but you definitely need to do it. He suggests doing 5 problems out of the book every day, and this is definitely a good idea. His tests were tough, but the first one is definitely the hardest. They get progressively better after that. If you study a lot, and review his old tests, you'll pass.
He's awesome, hilarious and knows his stuff. If you have to take dynamics, make sure you take statics with Nohra.
His tests are from hell. If you're not ready to work your butt off he'll tell you, "business school awaits". It's a 50% fail rate so be ready. If I didn't have to take him I wouldn't. two semesters with him is enough, but he's hilarious! Definitely one of my favorite professors. Find old exams and STUDY THOSE for a solid week before the exam.
Not a knowledgeable professor. Never ready to answer questions and he is very short on teaching skills. he sucks.
I took him a two semesters ago. Now that I'm in vibrations I've noticed the way he teaches dynamics is useless. Towards the end of dynamics, he decides to teach a method that is NOT good for numerical modeling, Vibrations, and Controls. I recommend that you teach yourself the book's way of solving planar kinetics of rigid bodies. His way sucks.
hardest class ever i put a 100% did the the 5 questions a day. and studied every day first test 43 2nd test 56 3rd test 70 and final high 50's what a waste of time and yess i did tutoring. i devoted soo much time i started to fail other classes. this class make me suicidal soo if uread this pls take stokes youll get a better chance. life sucks.
He teaches you how to break down the problem and solve it by steps. He is a hardass on everyone. If you dont have a sarcastic personality, buck up, you'll cry. I enjoyed his class
Good luck trying to get help from this guy, doesn't answer emails, the phone number on the syllabus is wrong, and if you go to his office hours he doesnt want to be bothered, yet in class he comes in 10-15 min late every class, goes over the material super fast, and then b.s's for remaining time.
Did not do well in Dynamics as that was the hardest semester for me. However, I passed and feel that I have learnt a lot. The greatest professor in Engineering and even USF so far. Caring, inspirational, emotional and very helpful. Just attend the lectures, do homework, use old tests to prepare and try to catch up with the schedule. Good luck!
Made Statics easy to understand and cared about every student. Remembers everyone he teaches and tries to do his best as a teacher.
Just started his Dynamics over the summer. I can already tell he will be one of my favorite professors. No sympathy for people that don't put in the work. If you can't pass you don't deserve to be a Engineer. Go to Business school instead. Fantastic professor. Then again, I love a challenge and can't wait to nail this class.
I suggest you look at your tests after he grades them, because he will take off points for no reason. Always moans about how students don't put effort, when we do put effort and it's a hard class and not everyone's a genius. Constantly adds pressure on you to make things even worse. Wouldn't take him if there was another professor for Dynamics.
One of the best teachers I have ever had and one of the hardest teachers as well. He is very knowledgeable and goes over test questions and example problems. Be wary of pop quizzes. Tests are remarkably difficult and comprehensive, he will find a way to put everything you have learned in only a few questions. If you don't study you will not pass.
Nohra could be the hardest teacher I've ever had, I got the worst grade I've had in college. However, I have never had such a excellent teacher. I love this guy, he has a great personality, you will learn everything and you will also learn why things happen.
Nohra is a difficult professor, so it's important to keep up with the lessons and to practice as much as possible. Pay attention to everything he says cause it tends to come back on quizzes and/or exams. He gives pop quizzes, so attendance may as well be mandatory. Try to have old tests at hand for practice and be ready to work hard to pass.
PEOPLE !!! Try taking this class somewhere else. I took twice with norah and stokes, i failed both times, I took the class third time somewhere else and I passed with B+ and same with Dynamics. They both like failing students by authority & the course is easy and enjoyable but they both make it horrible and . Take an advice and take somewhere else
Nohra is basically the hurdle for an Engineering degree at USF, everybody knows that. Some people would probably describe him more as a filter, but if you can get past him, you are most likely going to make it.
I'm sure he wrote some positive things on here. He is really not that great or knowledgeable . Please do yourself a favor and take Stokes so that you can experience what a good professor is like(I took both of course).
Im currently taking Nohra right now, And while his classes are incredibly difficult, he has been my favorite professor at USF. Hes very detailed and pushes you to do your best. He knows what hes talking about and doesnt put anything on a test you havent covered. He does a lot of examples. If you dont study though you will fail.
Nohra, Please don't write comments on here. This is for students to give you a rating, not for you to give yourself one. There is no truth about the positive things that are being said here about Nohra, He is not a good professor.
Tough classes but you come out having learned a lot. He really knows the material and delivery is exceptional. He cares about making sure you learn. You have to be prepared to work hard. Engineering courses are demanding anyways and Nohra pushes you to new limits. He's fair. He goes fast and covers a lot of material. Hilarious!
Best professor I've ever had. You will put in WORK for a grade in this class. My advice is to start learning the material before the semester even begins via YouTube or textbook. On the first day of class he sets the expectations for you and you MUST follow through if you want to make it. Available for office hours frequently. He moves very fast.
Nohra is a notoriously tough grader; however, he makes it very clear on the first day what you must work to pass his courses. If you are looking for an easy, flyby course, you should change majors. There is no assigned homework, you must do the problems he suggests, and you will be well-prepared for his exams. Be diligent on your own, you'll pass.
Tough grader, but great professor. Lectures fly by quickly because he is hilarious. Do your homework, which isn't graded and study old tests mainly and it wont be that bad. Pretty mean if stop by his office, but otherwise he makes you learn.
I'm currently taking grad dynamics and I'm quickly noticing that the fact he doesn't cover angular momentum and rotational analysis of rigid bodies hurts you in the long run. Not a good choice of professor but there is nothing you can do besides taking the class somewhere else.
Professor Nohra is the best professor Ive ever had. With that being said, It will not be an easy semester. He will make you work for your grade, but will never put anything on a test that he hasn't gone over before. Do your 5 problems per day, go to class and you will be fine!
Tough class, but he makes it somewhat easier to understand. Also he is one of the few professors that will keep you entertained all class.
Toughest class I ever took, but i hear its easy with other professors so if you can Id take someone else.
Dr Nohra is easily the best professor at USF. He is hilarious and engaging and dedicates himself to helping students learn. He puts in so much preparation for his lectures and hates laziness with a passion. He will make you work but you will actually learn the material and love him in the end for the hell he puts you through. 11/10 Would take again
Dr Nohra is easily the best professor at USF.
Great professor who cares about his students and is hilarious in lecture. Pop quizzes at least once a week and exams that are harder than any other class you've taken up to this point.
#1 male professor at USF! I took Stokes, and I failed. English is my 2nd language, so Nohra was easier to understand and follow even if he's harder. If you want to be an engineer, to be guided, to learn, you must take Nohra even if you're IE. Yes, the 5 problems a day is a real thing. Your hard work will be worth it!
Lecture material moves much faster than statics, stay ahead with hw with his 5 problems/day, expect quizzes on the daily. The material isn't that hard, its just a lot thrown at once and can become overwhelming and tedious. At least he works out problems and explains definitions so anyone who showed up can walk away with at least one fact.
Amazing professor, but very difficult class. Wouldn't think of skipping class! Nor taking the class easily. Study study study!! Pop quizzes are easy only if you are caught up on the class and if you know the material well. First two exams are VERY difficult but third and final are easy if you put your mind to it. Goodluck!
Nohra is the best professor you will ever have. He explains everything the simplest way possible, cares about teaching, he is hilarious; his lectures will for sure entertain you. With that being said, get ready to work your ass off. Do the 5 problems a day and keep up with the material, you will then have a decent chance to pass
He explicitly said during class that he wrote the last 5 comments on here. Please ignore those comments before making decisions for your future. This guy isn't that great.
I will say Nohra is actually a good lecturer, and if you consistently do problems everyday and do a lot of old test problems before exams you should do fine. It's definitely the hardest I've ever worked for an A in my life. Good luck trying to talk to him during office hours, he's never there. He also doesn't respond to emails.
Best professor Ive ever had! Would recommend! Do and keep up with the homework and the quizzes will be easy. STUDY the old tests a lot and the exams will seem easy. Class goes by quick because he is hilarious and will make you crack up all the time.
I can't say how much I appreciate and respect professor Nohra. He method of instruction is second to none and the difficulty of his course match the caliber of person he is. When you get the best you will be put to the test. I wish other professor would model his leadership in the class room. He entertains and teaches engineering in a practical w
He is one of my favorite professors here at USF. He gives complex tests but he is a very good professor. I would take him again and again. Don't skip classes!
He IS a great professor and really wants you to learn, by far my favorite professor at USF. Nohra is one of the select few professors who are actually great teachers. You really need to study for this class like for 5 hrs a day. This is not a class you want to get behind in, because his test are difficult.
All the good comments here a written by him. He said it during class. He is not challenging just likes to write test in confusing ways.
The over all rating should be a .35/5 , comparing MIT to USF, dynamic test @ USF Nohra was harder, but when you are done, MIT student are getting top pay and USF are getting below average pay in engineering because Nohra destroyed your GPA. after the semester all you really learn is how to deal with Nohra not the actual material
Nohra has to be one of the hardest, yet best professor I've had in college thus far. Don't skip class bc he recognizes faces, but regardless if you skip class you'll be lost. Practice is key to this class. If you don't do extra work outside of class, you won't pass. He makes it entertaining and is great at teaching the material. Highly recommend!
Nohra is the gatekeeper to graduation with this class. Dynamics at USF is harder than at any University ive ever heard of from anyone. Do not skip classes. ever. Quizes are 25% of the grade and they can make or break you. The tests are 4 problems. He tells you exactly what each question will be. it wont matter. conquer Nohra claim your diploma
He moves very fast when going through procopy problems. I think nohra should realize that students have other classes not just his. He takes pleasure of not having students understand material but making exams are hard. DO BOOK PROBLEMS. Make sure you understand the fundamentals. Study for the quizzes. Dont get behind in the homework. Good luck.
Nohra and Stokes are tough. Getting a D or F in their classes doesnt mean you cant do engineering. Every school has their tough and easier professors. I got an F in Statics at USF But got an A in Structures and A- in Geotechnical Engineering I at another Florida school (FAU). Definitely much easier but still required hard work.
You have to work hard and practice!! To get an A: do all recommended problems, and start practicing old exams daily 5 days before the test. Go to tutoring that the college of engineering offers. Study groups. The work that you put in will prepare you for future classes. USF has the best Civil Engineering professors, no b s . You have to put in work
Tough but cares. All he asks you to do is work. Isn't that what your suppose to do
Professor Nohra might be the best teacher I've ever had. He cares about his students and does a fantastic job explaining statics. His 'nohra'-tized tests are pretty difficult, but if you go to every class and do the problems he assigns, its easy to get a 100%. I plan on taking him for dynamics next semester. Can't say enough good things about him.
Nohra's courses will prepare you for life as an engineer. His mantra of doing 5 problems a day teaches you to be constantly thinking like an engineer. His tests are extremely hard. However, if you've been putting constant thought towards the concepts (like he suggests), you will pass, and better yet, be more likely to succeed in other courses.
Do 35 problems a week. Set that time aside to truly practice the material. You must practice. Nohra is an excellent teacher who wants to make sure you deserve to move on to the next semester. If you work on those problems and try your best to figure out every solution, you will make it. Also his classes are very informative, learning is guaranteed.
Teaches you how to think. He will absolutely make you think youre stupid. Because when you get there, you are. But being his student is a crucial part to becoming an engineer at USF. Take him, befriend him, earn his respect.
One of the funniest professors I've had. Difficult class, but if you do the practice problems and use past exams to study, you'll do fine. He tells you exactly what's on each exam, and the final. Weekly quizzes, usually textbook problems or TF/multiple choice. Take Nohra if you need to take dynamics in the future (he's the only one who teaches it).
This is the weeding out course for engineers, doing the bare minimum will not work in this class. Do the 5 practice problems at least 4 days of the week to learn the material, then practice his old test questions for the exams (google engineering bible usf). If you do bad on the 1st exam you can still recover, test 3 and the final are easier.
Definitely an entertaining class. Nohra is a good teacher who always tries to keep his students engaged. The first 2 tests are very hard but the last 2 are much easier so if you fail the first two like I did don't worry, you can still pass. Would definitely recommend doing the 5 problems a day like he says you will do better.
Arguably one of the best professors I've ever had. He pretty much does everything that he can on his part. He explains everything clearly, outlines what to do to be successful, and even works problems in class. He also knows how to keep the class interesting so you never get bored or annoyed in class. Your self-initiative will determine your grade.
Had him for Statics/Dynamics. If you need statics and nothing else then don't bother taking him. If you need Dynamics, TAKE him. You need to know how he works to be successful in dynamics since its much harder and hes the only one that teaches it. He is a very good professor and really cares about his students. Do 5 problems a day and old tests. GL
Nohra is one of my favorite professors. Get ready to work otherwise you will not pass. His class is very hard but extremely doable if you put in the work. He is the funniest professor I have ever had, and don't think about getting on your phone or computer in class or you will be utterly shamed for the rest of the semester.
My C overall really was on me. Doing 5 problems a day for 6 days of the week really is the surefire way to pass, and make sure you do a diverse set of problems too. Also, study before each class like there is an exam coming up in the next class. Doing well on quizzes is very important.
I had him for statics and dynamics. I didn't like him at first but I got used to him. He is very polarizing and has an eccentric personality. His classes are challenging but not impossible. He can be entertaining but also intimidating. Basically, after I got used to him I ended up liking him and his class. Do his homework and study his old tests.
Nohra is a strange professor - to say the least. He enjoys being the "alpha" and can make your life very difficult. However, what I noticed is that if your class is respectful - REGARDLESS - of his behavior, and you joke with him - he will actually make reasonable tests. He is not the hardest professor at usf. He is a good professor overall.
This is a hard class but Nohra is a very good teacher. Your whole grade comes from how well you do on the test. But if you pay attention and practice some of his old test you will do good
He is a real legend, be careful with the first test but overall the class is easy. Love the guy
Nohra is a legend. He has been a statics and dynamics professor at USF for over 30 years. He is hilarious, but get ready to learn and study. First test is always impossible, but second and third are more manageable.
Tough, but its what you need in the class. No wasted lecture time. I wish every professor was that prepared for class. He knows his stuff.
Doesn't treat every student equally. Says no makeup quizzes then does it for students he likes. Students who he likes might have more clues. Universities can't pay for more professors on these hard topics. Huge classes
I have taken Statics 3311 and Dynamics 3321 with Nohra (he is the only professor who teaches Dynamics). If you want to pass either of these classes you MUST go to class, do the recommended textbook problems, and do well on his quizzes. If you haven't purchased Chegg, this is the time to in order to learn how to solve the textbook problems.
Be careful, difficult as hell. He says he writes all the good rating here, so dont believe everything you read. Always ask someone you know. You wont learn anything in his class because his test are made up by him. Find another professor for statics, take dynamics online at another school
Professor Nohra is unlike any other professor, you may hear he is the worst and he will make your life hell, I completely disagree, professor nohra doesn't only teach you lectures and how to get the value of x y and z, but he teaches you how to be an engineer, if you just listen to him, you will ace his tests, PS: he also tells you what's on tests!
Do your practice problems, that's the reason I got an A. I recommend asking your classmates questions before emailing him. Statics and Dynamics were set up the same way, so it was a smooth transition if you also had him for Statics.
Do ALL homework problems from the syllabus and Procopy, and be able to do them without solution manual, and I promise you will get atleast a B. The material is not hard but requires a LOT of practice, after which it will become intuitive. Just don't let the quizzes bite you; they are a large portion of your grade. If you don't, it's only your fault
Easy!!
Knows the subject but is seriously hard to be in the presence of treats you like you are beneath him. Sad considering he is the gatekeeper for some degrees. Could definitely be more helpful.
Dr. Nohra AKA (father/son/holy spirit) is the best professor ive ever had. He is a bit tough but as long as you respect him he will respect you. He is super funny and lectures are NEVER boring. Tests are pretty hard but as long as you do 5 problems a day and all of your practice tests, youll ace it :)
Gets political in class.
Hands down the best professor at USF. He's definitely tough but tells you exactly what to expect. Very funny and knows how to keep our attention during lengthy lectures. Definitely get the procopy and testing manual, they give you everything you need to pass the class. Engage in lectures and you'll earn his respect.
Without a shadow of a doubt, he ranks as one of the hardest profs in my book and for many others I'm certain. Statics is a weed-out course meant to kick your butt if you don't keep up with the Pro copy and weekly quizzes. Nevertheless, I ALWAYS looked forward to his lectures and his humor. His exams might be from hell, but he's an AMAZING professor
Both Dynamics and Statics with Nohra are extremely difficult especially if you do not really understand the material that he is teaching or wait until the last moment to study for it. His class however is manageable if you do the recommended problems and DO THE TEST MANUAL. Nohra is honestly one of the best professor in the engineering department
AMAZING! Honestly, best professor I've ever had, his tests are tough but he gives you all the tools necessary to succeed, he does a lot of examples during class time and shows you the different types you can encounter, something other professors don't do, tells you exactly what you will see on the tests, helps you spot key words. Take him!
He gets a bad rap because students don't want to put in the work to study. If you study and do problems consistently then you will do fine.
I've had Nohra for statics and am currently in his dynamics course now. Nohra is an exceptional professor and I am so glad I took his course- his industry knowledge and amazing methodology really prepared me for future classes. He will often say to "find an old timer that knows the ins and outs and stick to him." He is the man you want to stick to.
I wish all of my professors were like this man. He makes learning fun, however, if you do not study the tests will be awful.
Really great professor for statics, if you do your 5 problems then you'll pass no problem. His tests are hard but he curves the first two
He curved the first 2 exams. Overall the material isn't that challenging, but there's a lot of different ways each exam problem can be presented. The last exam is hard not to get an A on. As a professor, he can make you laugh and make you cry. The class is a challenging environment. If you pay attention, it shouldn't be too difficult
Do those 5 questions bruh
Probably best professor at USF for engineering. If you're willing to put in the work, this class becomes not as difficult as it seems. Great jokes and life perspective in class. If you're Civil and you try, this is your guy for class and advising. Don't be lazy.
Took 4 Statics & Dynamics. Didnt like him much during Statics but he ACTUALLY TEACHES (unlike some). Wont say the classes are hard (material), subjective, but you DO have to put in the work for them (5 problems a day). The test are challenging because they have curveballs and pitfalls but fair (and curved). Take him, learn, and grind.
I miss this guy. Dynamics nearly broke me but I miss the grind, the oddly motivational rants, and the atmosphere. Also, do (at least) FIVE PROBLEMS A DAY. Find a good study group as well.
Professor Nohra is potentially the best professor at the university. Everyone will tell you to be afraid of this class because he is sneaky, but he really isn't. If you just go to his class and listens to what he says, it is an easy A.
Professor Nohra is hands down the best teacher in engineering; people might be saying things like "he is extremely difficult," but I would say that the topics are very difficult, but Nohra teaches them to us in an easier way. Doing 5 questions daily and the practice questions he put in the syllabus are crucial. START STUDYING A WEEK AHEAD FOR TESTS
Hands down the best professor you'll have in your engineering career at USF. He tells you the exact material that will be on the exams, even gives you a manual with old test questions, yet you'll still fail miserably. Those who work the hardest will be rewarded, those who slack WILL fail. He wants you to succeed, but you will earn it. Amazing class
I wish Nohra taught all the engineering courses! He asks for student feedback and is willing to change anything that's not working on our favor. His way of teaching is efficient, engaging and he knows how to have your attention the whole time. Going to class is actually valuable as he won't waste your time going over useless information.
I had Nohra for dynamics and statics and he was great in both. Despite the hard exams, he has a test booklet with past EXAM questions of about equal difficulty to what you will get. Basically, doing the test book problems will guarentee a decent score. Takes "brain breaks" in class by telling us about stories and whatnot. Overall great professor.
3 tests in course; each easier than last(+ hw/quizzes). If you can do the sample test questions without checking the answers, you will be fine. Very skewed grading (C- starts at 64). He tells you what you need but it is still a weed out class so slacking will make you fail. He is funny and gives you what you need to succeed; just gotta put in work.
Curves first 2tests by making you redo 2/3 of the test Qs each time (3rd test is easiest). if you get it right you get approx20 bonus points (tests worth 30). Grading is skewed also(C+ is a 70). He is funny but this is a weed out class so its hard on purpose. Doesnt rlly answer messages outside class so office hours/after class is the way to go.
Take Dynamics with Professor Nohra! He's engaging and effective, cracking jokes in class which makes it enjoyable. He's heavy on the first two tests, but lenient on the last. Attend a class for insights and do the recommended 4 problems/day to pass. He's harsh but fair!
The goat. Genuine weed-out class, but you will retain what you learned throughout his courses. Difficult if you aren't willing to put in the effort, but overall manageable if you set aside time each week to doing book problems. He often takes book problems and converts them for his exams.
GO TO CLASS! Nohra is a little crazy, but he is a good prof. Both Statics and Dynamics are hard, but Nohra gives you everything you need to succeed. The videos, testing manual, and lectures are designed to help you understand everything completely. However, you have to do the work at the end of the day to pass.
Good professor and appreciate his skills in teaching, do all your homework or you won't pass the tests.
Nohra is awesome. He WANTS you to succeed and gives you every tool too; however, you HAVE to do the work. Statics is not an easy class and you must be brushed up on Calc & Geometry. He assigns reasonable homework and a quiz every week for points (two lowest grades are dropped). He also lets you take home and redo 2 test problems for extra credit.
There is a lot of material presented, that is why the class has the expectation of being 'hard'. However, if you actually keep up with doing the practice problems you will do well! The material really is not that hard to grasp, just lots of trig.
Nohra is an amazing professor. He is GREAT at teaching. You will learn very well. Statics is famous for a reason though. The class is extremely difficult due to the tests. Nohra's 5 problems a day is not optional if you want to pass. The tests are set-up from hardest to least hard and there is no final. First test usually has a 45% average RIP.
The first exam was rough, but the other two are a lot easier. He provides lots of study material and posts worked out solutions on canvas. He teaches as if you have never learned this stuff before. He genuinely wants you to succeed, but he won't spoon-feed you. Even if you hate the content, his lectures are always entertaining. Amazing professor!
Awesome guy, ready to take him on Dynamics
Quite a personality but a very good professor. Pay attention in class and do practice problems as well as the practice tests in the manual. Show your work and put in the effort. Definitely a class to weed out non-engineers.
best professor
Rockstar professors who's notoriety and fame/infamy is well deserved. He defines USF engineering and is one the professors of all time. Very hard. but very engaging and fun. Had him twice for statics and twice for dynamics, absolute legend who'll make you fight tooth and nail for the darn C+
DO YOUR 5 PROBLEMS A DAY
Very thorough with his examples and overall a great prof though he makes the course more difficult than it should be. There are many ways to prepare for exams that Nohra provides though the course is difficult to "prepare us for the real world".
Nohra is the greatest professor I've ever had. Your grade is completely up to you and how hard you're willing to work. Many of the previous reviews have already stated why this is true.
Nohra is VERY strict but a fantastic teacher. His tests are from hell, which he will warn you about on the first day. Three questions become tough to solve in exams. I took him twice and couldn't pass. Unfortunately, he is the reason people mostly leave Engineering. Sadly, I am no longer in Engineering. But to pass easily, take another professor.
Nohra is a thorough professor who makes the course more challenging than it needs to be. But with diligent practice and tools like unstuckstudy ai, you can succeed. Attend class, do the homework, and you'll learn a lot, despite the difficulty.
Great at teaching the material and provides a lot of practice material with the procopy. Tough grader, almost always 10-15 min late to class, and gives quizzes every Friday at the end of class. The Friday after Halloween he gave out the quiz right at the beginning of class because he does not like it when students have fun outside of class.
10/10 Best professor at USF. This is a difficult class however he makes it extremely fun and interesting. If you want to get a good grade do what he tells you and you'll be fine.
Its a hard class but he is very clear and direct about what will be on a test. If you can't pass this class its not because of him its probably because of you.
Nohra is the actual GOAT. He's engaging, clear and concise in his lectures. He cares about his students and wants to make sure they actually learn the content. A word of warning, his tests are HARD. If you dont put the work in studying, you will not pass. However he tells you exactly what is on it beforehand. Buy the test manual!
Nohra Nohra he's my hero sum of forces equal zero
LOVE NOHRAAAAA he's a cool guy and the head of civil engineering department he gives you all the materials you'll need and if you put in the work throughout the semester you'll do fine. but his tests are HARD!!! so you have to put in the work to do well. Luckily Nohra really gives you all the resources to help you do well.
nohra is easily the best professor I've had at usf. he is super engaging, and his method of teaching makes statics easy to understand. he gives you so much practice material - your success in the course is based on how hard you're willing to work. he gives 6 practice tests for each of the tests - do them all + time yourself!
When I had Nohra for Statics I thought he was the greatest professor I've ever had. After Dynamics, my opinion remains the same. This is the hardest I've ever worked for an A and I loved every second of it.
He acts like the world revolves around him, disrespects boundaries, and mocks students' questions.Class is tough, with hard tests weekly quizzes, and strict grading.Homework isn't bad. I don't get why people praise him. He was mean all semester and tried to act nice at the end, but it didn't help. You learn, but at what cost? Avoid him if possible.
Love-Hate relationship. Exams are very difficult and his grading can be rough, especially for the first two exams. Third one tends to be a little easier for both statics and dynamics. Despite this, probably the best in the engineering department at teaching. Lectures are great. Weekly quizzes can be tricky as well so study.
Coolest professor I've ever had. Very down to earth and funny, but expects a higher standard from his students. He cares and wants you to understand the topics. When he says do 5 problems a day, definitely listen to that advice.
I never wore my seatbelt before riding to class because I wanted to despawn
Learned what it is to hate my life
Nohra Nohra he's my hero, sum of forces equals zero
The materials itself are a lot for one semester, and Nohra's teaching makes it a lot easier to digest. Everything you need is given in the class manual and test manual. Put in effort to do practice problems, doesn't have to be a lot, just cover everything he tells you to, and you'll be fine for the test.
The materials are tough themselves, he just shows you the systematic approach to solve them in the class manual. He will tell you exactly what to expect for the tests, doesn't make them any easier tho. So do the practice problems. Besides that, weekly quizzes and homework are the chances for you to not fall behind and bump your grades up.
The day Professor Nohra retires will be a huge loss for USF Engineering. I'm truly grateful he's still teaching. His exams are tough — it's not unusual to score in the 20s or 30s — but he makes you fall in love with engineering regardless of your grades. His passion for the subject and dedication to his students are unmatched.
Professor Nohra is an incredible teacher. I took him for Statics and Dynamics. My lowest test grade was a 81% without a curve. I strongly suggest to complete every textbook problem he assigns because it shows you variation. Study for the quizzes because they bite in the end. For statics, brush up on geometry. For Dynamics, brush up on calculus.
Professor Nohra is a really great professor that actually cares about his class. His class is not easy but he gives good resources and practice problems for the exams. Show up to class, you will be lost if you skip. He teaches good lectures and keeps the class engaging.
Nohra is the best! He makes every lecture informative but also funny and enjoyable! He is honest and tells us to leave if we're not willing to do work and just get a refund. Don't listen to the negative reviews; if you are willing to work, this will be an amazing course, but if you aren't, just take Stokes and switch to another engineering field!
He teaches very well and is hilarious in class. Also, he shares videos of his lectures and clearly explains each problem. However, this class is tough and requires a huge amount of work to put in (he recommends doing 5 problems a day). He is also very hard to contact as he doesn't reply through email or Teams, and is curt during his office hours.
Torture, Exams are about on par with what graduate students can expect.
Nohra nohra he's our hero, sum of forces might equal zero
I have had many teachers in college so far, but none have shined so brightly as Nohra. Nohra's class is an event I am ecstatic to partake in every week. Nohra is the most hilarious professor I've ever had. He makes even the incredibly boring subject matter of Statics come to life. Verily, he makes his class tough, but it comes from a place of love.
Had to retake his class but still love him. I'm BME—this class has nothing to do with my major, but I learned more than I expected. He teaches for understanding, not memorizing. Hard exams but gives full test manual. I wish he taught all my classes. Even if I do bad, I'd never blame him. Prepares you for being an engineer and life. Never skipped.
Nohra is a wonderful professor and educator in the engineering department, but he often will say or do things that cross boundaries and is often rude or dismissive when you need to ask him a question. Get the procopy books, do your five questions a day, study for the quizzes, and you'll be fine.
Best professor i've had so far. His classes are engaging and he makes them as funny and interesting as possible. I can tell he cares about his students and the future of engineering. Make sure to do as many practice problems and test reviews as possible because the exams will thoroughly test your understanding of the concepts taught in class.
The best professor I have ever had in 3 years of college and maybe the best engineering professor ever. You got to work hard, but his class is so worth it. He's a great individual and his teaching methods are out of this world. Took him both Statics and Dynamics. Very funny. I will dearly miss him. I could write so much but word count limit.

GREAT lectures. Very well formated and organized class. Classes are very interesting and engaging. Exams are very hard but he gives you tools for exactly what you will be tested on.
just need to work hard. he is v clear abt what u need to do, it is a time consuming class but he gives u all the tools u need to succeed. his grading scale is also lenient, distance between a B and a C is not much, getting to an A is tough. lots of math in this class. problems are all multistep so you need to be careful. hes nice n fun
Honestly the best professor you will ever have in your life, unfortunately he makes statics and dynamics hell, but its engineering so what do you expect? he is hilarious and loves blondes in the class and is a D1 manhater. exams have everything on them, EVERYTHING. just go talk to him hes actually nice in office hours and grab a snack too. u got it
Professor Nohra is definitely one of my favorite professors. He isnt lying when he says he's not trying to fail you. Do the five problems a day BUT most importantly PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS. He gives you everything you need to succeed. Tests can look overwhelming but if you do the practice tests (While timing yourself) you will be fine.
GREAT professor to say the least. His lectures are amazing, you learn a lot in a single class, they are content heavy but he keeps them engaging. He breaks complex topics down so its easier to understand. It is eassy to be left behind if you are not constantly attending lectures and doing a few problems per week. Practice exams + organized canvas.
Best professor ive ever had. Tough class, well taught. Organized canvas and GREAT lectures to say the least. All you need to succeed in exams is provided and explained properly, you wont be questioning how to study like in other disorganized classes.
If you want to do well, you will. All recources are provided and he gives great lectures, it is a tough class requires time and effort.
Professor Nohra is genuinely a great professor! I had him for both dynamics and statics and he did a great job. Yes, his class is hard and requires a lot of time, but if you actually put in effort and go to his office hours and class you will pass. He is helpful to students when he sees that you are trying and actually care about passing the class.
Quite literally the GOAT of USF. Class is tough; however, he gives you ALL the tools to succeed. do NOT skip class. Do your five problems a day, and you can genuinely get an A. I skipped my 5 problems a day and got a C+, sadly. But that's my own fault. Nohra is an amazing professor and gives you everything you need to pass; the rest is on you.
Hardest and best professor you'll ever take. Exams are from hell (as he himself loves to remind us in class) but he gives you everything you need to succeed, just need to ACTUALLY work hard. Funny and direct, you won't fall asleep in his class.
