She is a tough grader, but she clearly states what she expects. There is lots of reading and a big paper due, but again she clearly states what she expects and wants of you.
shes ok
The summer course had 7- 500+ word discussions with a 50+ word responses, 4 exams w/ 20 questions & 1 essay response, 3-5 pg media analysis paper, and a syllabus quiz. She's a tough grader. Assignments were due every Monday by 11PM & graded by the next day. If you do everything to the best of your ability & follow the criteria you'll do fine.
I loved taking her class! Lectures were very interesting and easy to understand! Also, tests are super easy if you study the review sheets she gives out. Best professor ever! If you have an interest in psychology or sociology, you'll enjoy this class- easy A :)
Mrs. Branham made me love Sociology more than I thought I would. She is a caring, amazing teacher and really cares about people doing well in her class. Her lectures are easy to understand and interesting, too. She often gets you involved in class and passes out candy for participation. Excellent professor, would take again!
I really enjoyed her online class! There was 8 discussion posts, a short paper, and 4 tests. Tests are open book and have two short answer/essay questions. She encourages you to share your own experiences and I would definitely recommend her for an easy A elective!
GREAT PROFESSOR! If you do the work, it's an easy A! I took her 8 week course online and it was pretty easy. You submit a 500 word response every week, 8 in total, 4 test, and a short paper.
She is an excellent professor that truly values her students. We write, work in groups, have class discussions, and listen to her lectures which include text, pieces of research, and videos. She is engaging and truly creates an open unbiased environment. Her class is a wonderful way to grow both as a student and a human being.
Instead of writing a nasty email that could potentially harm my grade, I'll write a warning to her future students. I took sociology as an online mini. There is something due almost every single day- and it only opens like 24 hours before. Busy life? TOO BAD. Vague with essay requirements, yet grades harshly.
If you're taking her for a 3-week mini make sure you read everything in the syllabus, She likes it her way and her way ONLY. (7) 500+ discussion boards (4) Tests with short essay question in the end and (1) 3-page analysis paper. She grades fast and will respond to your emails. Overall, you will WORK for the letter grade you want.
She is the toughest grader I've ever had! She only wants work turned in formatted in her way. "her way or no way" She takes points off for every mistake you make, on top of the format. There is something due every night. There are 7 discussions-500 words or more, 4 Exams-all timed, and 1 paper. I honestly thought my work was very organized. She di
There is an assignment due everyday with little time to do them. Discussion posts have to be at least 500 words and if you are short she will deduct points. Your responses to classmates have to be at least 50 words. During a test you can't go back and change your answer, it's all a little overkill.
I'm in this class now, it's not too bad. Write your discussion responses on word, then copy and paste into discussion post. During the summer, you should understand beforehand that there may be 2-3 things due a week in the classes. Get the e version of the book on chegg, it's a great site for e books (u can search). FOLLOW HER RULES FOR EASY A.
I really enjoyed Professor Branham's online class. She was very clear with her directions, schedule and expectations. Follow instructions and you should cruise through.
One of the best professors I've ever had! Her lectures are so engaging and interesting, you can tell she genuinely enjoys teaching sociology. I'm always excited to see what she has in stored for us to learn. She's very sweet & compassionate, she enjoys listening to our opinions and personal experiences on certain subject matters. SHE GIVES CANDY!
Mrs. Branham is an excellent teacher with a great personality. She really explains the different topics well and in good depth. You get the idea immediately that she cares about her students and she wants them to do well. She also goes around the room everyday and gives candy which is pretty awesome.
Professor Branham was AMAZING; she taught well and made sure everyone understood and graded reasonably with great feedback. I would definitely love to have her again
Her lectures are amazing! They're always super engaging and she encourages students to participate in the discussions. She uses lots of statistics to back up her claims, and I feel like I actually learned from her class. Her tests are super easy as long as you go over the review she gives each unit, and with some effort her class is an easy A.
Karin is a good professor and a real cool person. She has good lectures and she loves to hear any ideas you have.
She is a good professor and what I liked the most is her promptness and involvement. Always replied to emails fast and graded tests and assignments quickly with good feedback. Lectures cover simple material and are easy to understand. Not imperative to use the book but can be helpful, and make sure to do the reading responses.
She put on a great online class. The workload was perfect for me because I work a full time job. It was a very fair amount for the material. Enough to keep you busy but not overloaded with too many assignments. Only one book to deal with and great organization of the material. Great instructor.
There are 7 discussions, 1 media Analysis paper, and 4 tests along with a syllabus quiz. She lays out and give specific instructions on everything. The tests are all open-note and are from the document notes she writes and the textbook and include an essay. Just make sure to double check everything is turned in the way she wants on the directions.
I took this class as a Winter mini and it is honestly the best mini I could have taken. Prof. Branham sets a manageable pace for the class where you have 2 discussion posts and a test every week. I got at least one day off per week and the assignments only take about 30 min to an hour to complete. Open book, Open note tests and super easy A!
Great professor! Sends weekly emails to remind you of things. She provides her own chapter notes and study guides for the tests, which were a big help. Quick grader. Do your work right and youll be fine.
BEST PROF(: 6 reading responses of 300+ words, 3 tests + final. Test reviews for everything. Tests have 1 essay question out of 4 potential essay questions: on review so u can prepare. There are test review days SHOW UP IT HELPS. Lots of extra credit. Responds & grades quickly & clearly. Show up to lecture, take notes in class, she helps, easy A.
The Media Analysis paper gave little to none examples of how she wanted it. EMAIL her multiple times about me seeing her during her office hours because of it. She didn't have any available times. Her knowing I needed help on the paper, I failed the paper I made a 30/50, and good luck getting help from her, she hardly emails back....
As a late start class, there are 14 chapters to read plus her notes divided into 4 units, 11 discussions, 4 tests (no final), and 1 super easy paper. This was actually a relatively easy going class even with weekly due dates. Good communication and responds to emails with in a day or 2. I enjoyed learning in her class.
4 week class. No textbook required. One 21 question test composed of true or false, multiple choice, and one essay question about a discussion post topic and two discussion posts each week. One 3 page double spaced paper which is actually 2 pages without the double space about a movie or a tv show related to the course materials. Easy class.
Professor Branham is so sweet. She is so caring and funny and her lectures are so interesting. Sociology is such an interesting class and she does little activities and hands-on stuff too which is beneficial to me. I am taking her for Honors Socio and I wish every professor was like her
Shes an absolute sweetheart and cares so much. Makes the information easy to understand and loves when the class has a good dynamic, never stops the flow. We still talk about her three semesters later because she was so personable. She gave pencils and candy every so often and it always always made my day!
This class has been the absolute best. All sources come from one textbook and there are weekly discussions, but it is encouraged to give examples from your own experiences. If you keep on track with discussion posts and give effort on the open book tests - you will easily pass with an A.
Wonderful professor. Her lectures are captivating, easily understood, and she's super welcoming. I learned a lot about sociology through her and I would definitely take her other classes again. You don't have to buy the textbook because she makes it accessible for her students, plus she is always willing to help out.
Hands down one of the best teachers, if you follow the guidelines and turn in work on time you will pass the class
Professor Branham was very kind and I didn't have any problems. She graded quickly and gave great feedback. She was very understanding and made sure that I understood the assignments. She responded quickly when I had questions. I would definitely take her class again! super easy!
Professor Branham is very accessible. She replied to every question and will give you great feedback on discussion posts so that you are better prepared for the exams. Notes and handouts can be used for the timed exams. She posts grades in a timely manner and will send reminders constantly to remind you of upcoming due dates.
Her honors class is really nice and well-structured. Prof. Branham's lectures are professional and engaging, and I felt at home in her class. There are in-class and online discussions and reviews that helped keep topics clear in my mind, and each paper stage has a clear rubric to guide the writing. Really good!
Took her 3-week online sociology class. Professor Branham gives you everything you need for the class including the textbook, and is very accessible outside of class. The course is overall easy and consists of 8 discussion posts, 4 tests, and one final paper.
This was a good class to take, although it did get stressful from time to time. Make sure to study for all tests. Professor Branham gave clear and great study guides. As long as you are prepared, you'll get good grades.
According to the grading rubric, it's clear what's expected. Discussion based. Get ready to read. My biggest concern, and what disappoints me, is the testing instructions seem clear but she throws a curve ball and your grade will be based on it and could make a big difference. The essay part of her tests will automatically lower your grade.
Online, 10 discussion posts, 4 tests, and 1 media analysis paper. Light work, and an easy grade should you turn all your assignments in on time! Tests are also open material. 16wk course.
I love Mrs. Branham! She is so caring and considerate. She does make up tests too. Her tests are very straightforward and you will know exactly what she asks for. It is very easy to get an A in her class.
Do not take her please she is very bad professor I have to drop her class you can just think now.
Mini-Mester, Grades very fast and leaves great feedback. Open notes tests and good study tools.
Professor Branham is such a good instructor. She provides the textbook and make all of the discussion criterias clear. However, for tests and the final media analysis, she is a bit picky with what she wants. With that being said, she gives daily reminders about assignments and is very easy to contact. I definitely recommend her class!
Professor Branham is so incredible! She is such a sweet lady, and she grades fairly and provides excellent feedback in timely manner! Tests came about 50% from the lecture, and 50% from free uploaded textbook chapters in D2L. Lots and lots of freedom with the honors research paper. Be aware of deadlines, work and study in advance. Flash cards help.
Professor Branham was an amazing professor. I took her class as an honors course and she was incredibly helpful with the research project and I appreciated the step-by-step instructions she provided. Her tests were also easy as long as you reviewed the content she put on the review. Show up to the test review days, they are super helpful!
Professor Branham is a clear communicator. Follow the guidelines and you'll do well. Definitely use unstuck AI and the provided textbook to nail the tests and essays.
Ms. Branham has a very simple, yet thorough curriculum. If you just put enough effort towards her class, you will end up with a B or better, just make sure not to procrastinate anything.
I feel horrible that I missed the opportunity to do her evaluation; she definitely deserves it.
I took Branham's honors class and I really enjoyed the straightforward approach used in this class. She taught the content well and genuinely cares about her students.
