um uh ummmmmmmmmmmmu uh ? uhhm uhh
Very organized
She needs to assign specific questions from the textbook or make a coursepack instead of assigning the entire textbook. Midterm was tough. I should've taken this last August with Schwarcz.
What a ****!
She is an idiot. I guess the most stupid teacher with the most stupid jokes I will ever have in my student career!
Enough to steer me away from science and towards psychology.
Needs to make easier exams... >.<
This teacher may appear nice but when you need help in understanding something she can make you feel like a nit-wit and put you down indirectly...Not very encouraging lady!
She's one hot tamale!
All examples shown in class are far easier than what should be expected on the midterms and (especially) the final exam. For CHEM222: watch out for NMR/IR in the exam!
thats a hot babe w some attitude, but I have to accept that she really knows how to explain stuff...The key is = go to tutorials...she tells a lot of stuff there, but organic is organic...:(
****in ****
Horrible...she doesn't explain well in class, and she leaves the easy stuff (NMR etc...) for the last 3 classes when a huge chunk of the final was based on it. No course pack. Nothing useful on webct...and forget any recorded lectures
Yes, she is hot, but she is a terrible prof. Disorganized and confising. May she stop teaching soon, for the good of everyone.
Her exam questions are so hard, she really doesn't give you a feel for what you are about to get. Avoid her if you can!!!
Avoid her!!! Her exams are way harder than anything you will have done in class and the exercices in the book recommended are pretty much useless to prepare for her exams...
She's hot AND a chemist. Straightforward teaching. The material is easy if you can manage to see the big picture. Be careful with NMR and IR
She makes chemistry worth waking up early for. She's straightforward and asks easy questions, with the exception for NMR and IR. Other than that, this course is a breeze and you should sit back and enjoy the show... I mean teacher
She lacks self esteem or something cause really... She does everything to make students who have a hard time feel like****.
Do not take her for organic chemistry! I'm not sure what type of teacher she is for other chemistry classes but for org, she over complicates everything and just writes things on the board for you to memorize...she doesn't explain anything.

Her lectures are dry, rushed, and unclear; her exams are really tough. The only good thing I can say about her is that she is very helpful if you ask her questions after class, through email, or in her office hours.
IR and NMR were way too hard!but she gives good lectures, and her notes are very useful. if u study well for the 2nd and 3rd midterms then u should do o.k.
Dr. Auclair is very clear and enthusiastic in lectures. She makes herself very available after class and is really pationate about the subject and about teaching. She gives tough exams, but what Organic Chemistry Exam is easy? Take her class.
She's hot BUT a chemist. Chemists are all weird, as is quite clear in this case.

Only genuises from premed actually find this class doable. Normal people will suffer through it and will only wish they could only get a C on the final. AVOID THIS PROF IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE TORTURED FOR A WHOLE SEMESTER

The class is hard clearly. She's a good teacher though, obviously very smart. People shouldn't be so hard one her...its difficult material..its organic chem..cmon now..

Org 2 is by far one of the easiest required chemistry classes (besides org 1 probably). Though, I'm sure that most people who complain about org 2 are in biology or biochemistry and can't do chemistry anyways
What a stupid woman. Avoid her classes, will not teach you anything. She is lost without her notes. She should not be a teacher here.
amazing teacher... i dont know what the rest of these ppl are talking about. TAKE TAKE TAKE!
The best lecturer ever. I don't know why her ratings were pretty bad before. a very dedicated teacher who are willing to spend her lunch explaining organic chemistry. She has comment session every class in which she will be talking about the latest issue in organic chemistry. I never missed her lectures because her lectures were so interesting. I d
she is by far one of the best!! i dont know what do you people have against her! she is clear, her exams are fair and she explains well! i didnt know anything about org before taking her class and got an A in it!
Very clear, concise explanations, doesn't do too many in class examples but lots of material posted to study with. STUDY for this course, good teacher or not, it's still organic and you won't pass if you dont do problems.
one of the best profs i've had in chem. she provides a lot of study material to help students succeed in her exams.
Such a wonderful lady. Crystal clear, provides lots of practice problems and fair exams. Take this course with her.
very clear
Great Prof. Concise and clear explanations and she gives you nap breaks in the middle of her lecture :D
Great teacher! very clear about what is on exams, gives tons of practice problems. Hard final, midterms were basically the practice questions. Deff. take this course with her, I mean, its still organic chemistry, but at least she tells you exactly what will be on exams!
She is a really good teacher, provide all the information you need to succeed in her class. Do the practice problems, practice exams, study hard from the beginning and you will have a good grade. She's fun and interested. + Science Capsule were a good time to sleep for 5 minutes every class :p
Amazing. One of the best profs I've had at McGill. She provides her students with all sorts of extra questions and materials to help them succeed, and is so happy when they do (she was so excited when our midterm average was over 80) Her science capsules were very interesting and a nice break in the middle of class. Remember to go to the tutorials!
Prof Auclair is a wonderful teacher. Even with an unbelievably boring curriculum, she manages to make organic chemistry tolerable. Auclair post past exams on webCT and makes her exams very similar so it is easy to do well if you put in the time. Great prof!
Really a great lecturer, kept me interested even when it was the same thing every class (reactions) and made me appreciate organic chemistry so much more than the first ochem. grade a professor!
Absolutely phenomenal professor. I was dreading taking organic chemistry 2, but after her course, I came to really enjoy it, largely thanks to Prof. Auclair. Im now taking organic 3 for interest! :D
Fantastic prof, one of the few who truly cares about the students' learning and interest. She is very clear when going through reactions, and gives loads of practice questions, which are similar to those on the exam. Very helpful when answering students' questions. Great prof, great course!
Possibly my favorite prof at McGill, I can't imagine anyone who could make such awful material more interesting. It will be a sad, sad day when she stops teaching this class.
As someone who took Organic 1 in CEGEP and waited til 1 year later to take Organic 2 I was totally dreading this course... but it was actually a great class! She is an amazing prof who really wants you to do well and is extremely clear! So cute too!
The 80+ class average in the midterms reflect how incredible this prof is.The class takes place awfully early i did mind getting up because you would not want to miss an interesting lecture. She won't bore you and she takes a little break to go off topic and talk about factual stuff. Great looks too!
Exam difficulty is imbalanced. Hard final exam, easy midterms.Organized prof for sure. Lazy to make new questions and picks from last year exams. GOOD: way she teaches BAD: way she evaluates
Most organized prof I've seen so far. Extremely clear and writes awesome lecture notes. Very good at making things black and white for the exam, leaves no grey area. She gives a nice break in class with a science capsule. Clearly cares and is very willing to help. Extremely fair midterms, exam was more challenging.
Everything you need to know are int he notes, do the posted exams and problem sets and your golden
She is definitely one of the most caring profs you will ever meet. She genuinely cares about her students and will do anything to help them out! Opens up additional office hours for those that need it. Lectures are crystal clear. Synthesis problems on the final can be somewhat tough, but overall not very difficult to get an A!
Professor Auclair is one of the BEST profs ever. She's so organized, her notes are crystal clear, and she provides past exams and midterms to practice. Take her class, you will not regret it!
Terrible class but good prof. Exams get worse every single year...
I absolutely love this woman. She is so kind and caring - like a prof who suddenly becomes your motherly figure. Her midterms were very doable if you did the practice ones - but for the final you really need to give yourself a couple weeks to go through everything. It was way harder than the midterms. KEY TO SUCCESS: ace the midterms!!
crap lectures she doesn't make clear points and information is not organized and everywhere
Clear and passionate!
Her way of teaching was very clear and example based. So much better than any of the professors in Org 1. This class felt easier than Org 1 thanks to her. I hope she keeps teaching for the sake of future students!
Decent teacher, very passionate about her topic. She wants her students to succeed and helps out a lot by providing us with a lot of practice problems and other additional resources on MyCourses. The tests are pretty tough and sometimes there are discrepancies between what she taught us and what is considered correct on the exam (practice is key).
Great professor! She really has a passion for what she teaches and she teaches it well. Just when the hour-and-a-half lectures start to get long, she takes a break from testable material with a "Science Capsule," which consists of her sharing something in any science that she finds interesting. I cannot imagine a better professor for this course!
She teaches in a way that makes org 2 understandable. 1010. Her kids are adorable. I hope she keeps teaching, because the other org profs are absolute trash.
Her lectures are so clear. She goes over all the possible examples with you step by step. Really made org 2 very do-able. Her daughters are also adorable!
She's honestly a really great teacher. Her midterms are very straight-forward and if you do the practice, you will succeed. She is very nice and answers emails very quickly. She is also very approachable. I was expecting organic 2 to be really tough, but she made it very do-able!
amazing prof, she really wants you to do well, provides loads of ressources to help you succeed, gives small breaks called science cpasules which help keep you inerested in class and puts on test what she says will be on the tests, legit no surprises, Dr. Auclair was seriously one of the best profs ive ever had in my life
Her style of teaching takes a bit of getting used to; she uses a lot of shorthand and a lot of her testing included short answer questions with no partial credit given. That being said, shes incredibly approachable, very clear about why things happen and not just how, and recaps old material in every lecture. Overall, amazing as a prof and person.
The sweetest teacher!!! I struggled with organic 1 in cegep but her teaching styles made org2 seem easier. All you really need to pass this course is her lecture notes - she writes her notes by hand so you can see everything step by step. She posts an abundance of resources and past exams are also accessible. She gives you everything u need to pass
She's honestly amazing. Take her if you can! Dr. Auclair is one of the few caring professors at McGill and she really puts in the effort to make her students understand. Exams are easy if you do the practice exams she gives. Favourite professor ever.
Her lectures were very dense but assignments were pretty straight forward (just copying from slides or reinterpreting them). As long as you attend lectures and pay attention the weekly quizzes and almost weekly assignments are pretty easy. She is super responsive to questions and loves if you ask the in class! Highly recommend!
This professor is too lazy to record new concept videos so she uses choppy recordings from last year's live lectures... XD
I am so disappointed that I couldn't attend her lectures in person due to covid! She's so funny and she uses a lot of helpful examples when explaining. She answers questions very clearly and she loves what she's teaching. A very good teacher!
I adored her, becuase as someone who doesn't have a very good organic background, she made it super clear and doable. Many many many practice questions from previous years that will help you solidify your knowledge (DO THEM FOR THE MIDTERMS AND FINAL). She is super accessible our of the class and answers email very fast. She is kind and lovely :)
