Karl is a very entertaining professor. Great sense of humor and relates well with the students. He not all about work, but does realize that there is time for amusement also. He is still able to demand good work ethics and regular attendance. Probably one

I skipped 9 of his classes and he gave me an AB. He wants people to succeed so he makes things easy. I highly recommend him, he's cool too.

Karl was an AWESOME PROFESSOR!! He is one of the few professors that make class fun!! If you dont take one of his classes you will definetly be missing out on somthing! He won distinguished teacher award so that says something in itself!! TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

He's a bit of a crackpot, but that's what makes the class really fun. His teaching style can turn literature that you probably otherwise wouldn't understand, into somthing that you enjoy reading.

He is very interested in the topic. He is a very fair grader and it isn't difficult to do well in the class

Karl is the kind of professor every student hopes for. He's a fun guy with whit and humor and can relate to every student. His classes are interesting, especially when u participate. His assignments are clear and easy if you put a fair amount of effort into them. Take Karl's classes!

Karl is the coolest (and possibly dorkiest) prof. I've had so far. I actually cried on the last day of his class because he was being so nice to me. I highly recomend any of his classes. I have friends who take way more english credits than they need just to be hin his classes.

Knows a lot about chaucer and literature in general. Extremely funny and full of jokes. Easy grader, but assigns challenging assignments. I would recommend him as a professor.

best teacher ever.. i never read the two books we had. the class had nothin to do with them and neither did the three papers we had to write...two of them were 3 pages and the research one was 6 pages....final was a short 1-2 page paper written in class...talked alot bout sprots n making fun of people he knew and himself....he's pretty funny..

He is a great teacher. If you can live with corny jokes and laugh at some you'll do fine. You write a few papers all from 2 to 6 pages long with an essay exam at the end which is a page long. Wasn't too difficult. Just going to class was fun. He comes in every day and says "hello class, how the heck are ya". Excellent for just a gen ed class

When they say that Karl is the best prof they ever had trust me they are not lying. This guy takes a subject that is not interesting to most people and turns it into something that everyone can enjoy. There is no other way to explain at how good he is at teaching so just take one of his classes YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. FUNNY GUY! Karl is the man!

Awesome professor. The reading gets boring, but in class discussions, he makes it fun. He jokes around a lot and he's a fairly easy grader. I definitely recommend taking him.

Quite a character. The material is a little off-putting if you're not familiar with medieval language, but he breaks it down well and doesn't try to sugar-coat it - a fart joke is a fart joke. We also had to practice speaking reasonable Old English, which was a lot of fun. Boehler is a great professor and an even better experience.

Karl Boehler is a great professor. He really helps if you go to his office hours. Ask questions if your stuck, he'll make it clearer to understand. Go to class, he sometimes has in class assignments, very easy, fair amount of writing, and a fair grader. Overall great class and professor! :)

I took this class to fill a credit requirement for graduation, so my English major had me several steps ahead of most of the class. Regardless, it was one of the easiest and most entertaining classes I've ever taken. Boehler pushes his students, whether they're English majors or not. Great professor!

Karl is a goof but he is definitely the best professor I've had so far. He's loaded with a ton of random information. We only have two midterms and that's pretty much our whole grade but they are easy! I sparknoted every book we read and got a 95% on the first midterm and haven't taken the second yet. Take Karl he's so cool!

Karl is AWESOME. He gives you advice on how to improve but also tells you what you did really well which. Also, If you have problems outside of class, he gives the best advice ever. I had no interest in Brit Lit coming into the semester, but he made it fun. It was the only class I didn't dread going to. I'll be taking him every chance I get!

Karl is my favorite teacher at UWO. I take his class whenever I get the chance to. If you put in some effort and go to class you will easily get a good grade. He's the funniest teacher ever, couldn't stop laughing. Oh and he never keeps you the whole class.

He assigns readings but usually have the class read it together during class time. He doesn't force anyone who doesn't want to read out loud. He is very funny and is a good teacher. Barely wrote any paper, maybe 2 most. He is very nice and caring, will do his best to help you. His exam is super easy, most of it is based on the readings.

He is an amazing person and teacher! Had a lot of fun in the classes that I went to. Would skip every friday and wouldn't have a problem. Wrote all papers a day before due and still would get a very high grade. Im not a fan of writing papers either. When I did go he was very enjoyable! TAKE HIM!

As a freshman, college seemed pretty intimidating, but having a professor like Professor Boehler made it so much better. There are 4 papers and a final. An A is a 96 and above, but from day 1, he tells you that you can earn whatever grade you want. He allows you to make revisions on every paper! Great Professor!

I took Boehler's class as a Freshman my first semester of college in Fall of 2016. This guy is an amazing person. Lectures are exciting (most of the time), and lectures (if you participate) are meaningful, and fun. If you slack off, you won't do as well, but if you put in a 'fair' effort. You should expect an "EASY B" or better!

Boehler is the best WBIS professor on campus! He is funny and a very charismatic person! If you go into his office hours and have him read over your papers, you are almost guaranteed an "A" on every paper! Definitely would recommend taking his class!

A very entertaining professor to say the least. Easily one of the funniest professors on campus and one of the best for WBIS. Since it is a WBIS class he teaches you very basic stuff. His lectures aren't very full and you may not learn a ton, but he himself more than makes up for it with his personality.

Didn't learn anything in his class other than that the citing method I learned in h.s was all wrong. Honestly, WBIS is required, take it with an easy prof who is interesting to listen to. And he doesn't require a textbook which is great (ya broke college kids know what its like)

Karl, what can I say, an amazing professor. He is the reason I am going for an English Major. He is fun, kind, and very out going. He puts his students needs before the class itself. Ive had him for three semesters and it never seemed like hes had a bad day in life. All his exams are set up the same. I never did any of the readings and passed.

Karl is a very down to earth human being. He will always put his students needs before any of the class material. He is very accessible outside of class, and responds to emails relatively fast! Take him you will not be disappointed! If you go to office hours before its time to turn in the papers, you are almost guaranteed a 90, DO REVISIONS!!!

This is the second time Ive taken a class of Professor Boehlers and Im glad I did. Hes the nicest and funniest professor Ive ever met and the amount of time he invests in his students is amazing. He truly cares about his students and wants them to do well. He was very approachable and is a very down to earth guy. 10/10 recommend!

Karl is such a sweetheart. He obviously knows what he's talking about and makes class fun and engaging. Plus he's super understanding, just email him if you can't make it to class or don't understand something and he will help you to the best of his ability. So amazing, I can't say it enough.

Karl was the most down to earth, caring professor I had all semester! He really cares about each student's education! No textbook required, only 3 papers for the whole semester, and he would often let class out early! Although he's amazing, he could stray off topic a lot, and sometimes I felt like I wasn't learning anything. Overall, great!

He is awesome! He cares about all of his students and is willing to give you the feedback you need to succeed. There are no quizzes because you don't use a book. But he will grade small assignments that you do in class that are worth 2 points. He is extremely nice and is there because he wants to, not for a pay check!

Karl was an easy-going and very approachable professor. He allows rewrites on all his papers which are super helpful. His canvas page was confusing and his directions were not always clear. Easy A if you show up to class though and do the rewrites.

Professor Boehler was one of the most caring teachers I've ever had. I was having a really rough time this semester just in life in general and he was always so supportive. He gives great lectures about the books that we read and is incredibly knowledgeable about his field. 10/10 would recommend.

If you don't like Karl, I don't know what to tell you. I can't stand reading books thousands of years old and he somehow made it interesting. He is really funny and brings lots of energy to every class. Doesn't make you buy textbooks and gives clear feedback on grading. Love Karl!

Best writing teacher I have ever had. His lessons are always purposeful and have helped me understand how to write so much better. Funny man, loves joking with the class and keeps everything light hearted. Always offered re-writes on his papers. 10/10 would recommend taking his class.

We love Karl. He uses current situations to make examples for class. He is very funny and super caring. He gives plenty of extra credit and allowed rewrites on all papers. He even made the final so that we can take it at home. My only complaint is that this is the only writing class he teaches!

Karl is a very caring and genuine professor. If you are struggling or unsatisfied with a grade, come to office hours. Putting in effort and coming to office hours goes a long way. He can be slightly unorganized when it comes to daily assignments, so make sure you are checking Canvas. Be prepared for the 3rd and 4th essays during the final weeks.

Took this class as my Q2. The entire class is just reading Greek poetry & Epics but it's not terrible. The weekly assignments are pretty easy as long as you're paying attention during class but you can also just look up the question & still be fine. There is a midterm + final. Honestly this class is an easy A & GPA boost. Karl is amazing.

I loved having Karl! he was amazing, but he likes to use language some people may not agree with in a classroom. But he made the class so much fun!! If you ever get the chance to take one of his classes I definitely would!

Karl is easily the most passionate, caring teacher I've had at UWO so far. He makes lecture material relatable, loves to get students involved in lectures/discussions, and doesn't assign a lot of homework. As long as you actively participate in class, and turn in the assignments, you will probably do pretty well in his class.
