Excellent. Very fair. Tests come from notes written on the board, but you must understand and comprehend, not just memorize. Even the students that are dropping the class are planning to take him again. One of the best courses I have had. Plan on working for your grade.
Straight foward teaching everything comes from notes. Prepare to memorize and understand the material.Would recommend to take him in the summer theres alot of material, but class is quick and he is easier than other professors.
good teacher, great lectures tests were harder than hell!! expect multiple choice, short answer, definition, and pictures.
Good Professor, but this was the hardest class I have ever been through. The tests are very difficult, especially the essays, so plan on studying extra hard for your grade.
This Professor was very helpful! I definately earned my grade the tests are extremely difficult. Probably one of the hardest classes i've taken, however I learned far more than i expected to. Very good Professor makes you want to learn.
Awsome! He made sure that you understand the material and explains it in ways that you will relate to. Very interesting class! I love it!
I have the biggest crush on him!!! He's so helpful and his notes and handwriting is so organized and neat. Cute butt too...
He is excellent. It is not an easy class but he gives you all the information you need to learn the material in both lec. and lab without the unnecessary bull. His test are not easy, but if you study, they are very do-able. He is very approachable and will not belittle you if you do not understand. He will explain as many times is necessary.
this teacher was very helpful but the class itself was difficult and you take notes all class period long his test were extremely hard but he was very nice and did his best to help you understand whatever you needed.
Great teacher, actually wants to answer your questions and help you understand. Not an easy class but he makes it as interesting as he can. Just sucks he isn't tenured so he just shows up as staff. Email him to find out what classes he's teaching.
Great teacher! He's tough though! Make sure you pay attention, take notes and study! Mr. H. is very personable. Ask questions, he won't treat you like you're an idiot! There should be more teachers like him.
He's great! He's very organized and really enjoys answering questions - wants everyone to UNDERSTAND what's being taught & not just memorize. Wish he taught 2402 & wish he was tenured so you could see his name when picking classes.
The tests were killer. You Have to study. If you study hard, you'll make an A. This is not a class you can slack off in. You have to participate. He teaches well, and keeps you informed, and he gives you all the information you need to do well. He's a great teacher, but the class itself is hard.
This teacher is very organized. His notes are very clear. His exams are challenging. If you don't study seriously forget that "C". You will fail. He explains well and ask questions during class he will happily answer them. This course was hard, but he is a good teacher. Study well, pay attention in class and NEVER SLACK. LEARNED A LOT.
I totally agree with all of the current reviews of this amazing teacher- he is extremely intelligent and shares his knowlegde with the class. It was very hard but also very interesting. I just wanted to write a review and give him a jalepeno!!! whoohoo!!
Class well structured; uses chalkboard alot, so you have to take notes. Exams are hard with alot of short answer essays, but all test questions come from the notes presented in class so, if you study your notes with intensity, you'll do well. Lab final is an oral exam. Excellent teacher...I would definitely take a class of his again.
GREAT teacher!! If you want to make an A you will need to put in the study hours but he is willing to help anytime and is very easy to talk to.
very fun, very helpful. if you don't know your homework or reading though. don't waste his time
This instructor is not for the weak. If you are serious about learning, this is the instructor for you. You won't be disappointed. The information is given in detail and clarity. This instructor is always willing and available for clarification of any questions. If you just want a grade, waste someone elses time.
Very difficult, and a smart-ass when you have questions. Mr. Hagenbuch is very intelligent, but should be doing research rather than attempting to teach. Pitiful.
Though I agree this is a good instructor and enjoyed listening to him teach, I sometimes felt his grading was too rigid. It's almost as if he purposefully tries to be difficult. He'll automatically drop you if you miss more than 4 days. No mercy at all with this guy.
Very good instructor, made a C in his class, that's with studing my butt off, if you need or want an A, don't plan on taking any other difficult classes with this one. Even though the class was hard, he did everything in his power to make me feel as though i am capable of doing it. If you do not understand the materal, ask him, he is very nice
He is a nice guy but i would not recommend him. I would study over a week in advance for his tests and still fail them. He is very smart and expects you to be as smart has him. i agree with the person below, he needs to be in a research lab!
Mr. H. is not the professor for you if you are a slacker. He lets you know from the beginning what he expects from the start. Study your notes and listen and you shouldn't have a problem. He is very hard, but also very good. I would take him again for another class. He will answer any questions you have. All you have to do is ask!
Mr. H is the professor you need to take if you want to be a RN. His test are hard because they make you think, which is a great way to get you prepared for nursing school. If you want a easy A take another Micro teacher but if you want to learn take Mr. H. I did make an A in his class, but it took a lot of effort.

Tough instructor - No SCANTRONS, takes off for bad grammar, etc. - BUT will bend over backwards to help you. Wants you to think for yourself. You won't pass the tests if you don't study, but will almost certainly pass if you do. Great feeling of accomplishment at the edn of the class because he made you earn your grade.
Mr. H is an ok professor. First of all if you want an A, you need to read your book with his notes. His notes highlight what the textbook explains and notes alone are confusing as hell, although he swears that his notes are enough, rofl... He becomes a serious smart-ass if you try to make his class interesting by opening up with questions.
Mr. H is a great professor, he makes you think & this is a class where you have to earn your grade. He is very helpful ASK QUESTIONS. You should take the notes word for word and read them with the book. If you can't explain the content of the notes u will not pass the test! His notes are to be read & UNDERSTOOD.
He is really nice and helpful. Ask questions and he will really help to make sure you understand. Study his notes for the tests and you'll get A's. book might help you but I barely used it. Just make sure to remember info from the notes and if you don't understand ASK him. he'll help.
Took bio II. He really makes you work for your grade. I normally get A's and with the same effort I did with those classes, I got a C with him. Pay attention to the notes and memorizes the diagrams. The diagrams are the only thing you need to read in the book.
Cool teacher. Class is pretty easy just make sure you study. Cant pass without intense studying of notes. Tape recorder is good idea cause sometimes adds extra stuff not in notes. But over all test and labs a fairly easy but need to study. Bearly uses text except for figures and tables. And be on time he takes attendences.
Awesome professor, but definitely makes you work for a good grade. His tests are difficult, but as long as you study the notes thoroughly and ask questions, you'll do fine. I took him for 1406 and his lectures consited of very helpful outlines. He's always willing to help and answer questions.I would recommend Mr.H. I'm taking him again in the fall
The lecture tests are very hard. Lab tests can be easy if he tells you what models and slides are going to be used.
Very challenging course but the he is very easy to understand. Tests come straight from the lecture. You still need to read the chapters in the book. The lab tests are pretty simple. Just attend the class every day and do your reading. He is a really nice guy so you should be able to pass.
This is the second time I've taken him. He is a very good professor. You learn a lot but it really doesn't come effortlessly. He gives lectures which are organized so it helps you understand better. He gave 4 lecture tests, 1 lab assignment, 3 lab tests, and the final. I recommend him for people that actually study and are interested in bio.
This class was not terribly hard, but it did require a nice chunk of study time. Mr. H is an awesome prof! He is always willing to answer any questions you may have. Tests are not easy, but if you study the notes and the figures from the book (which he teaches in class), you will pass. Attendance is taken and be on time. Overall experience= A+!
Mr. H is a very good teacher. Loves botany though. He is crystal clear on all the material. Very helpful when you need it, doesn't have problem answering your questions. The course is very challenging so be prepared to study, pay close attention & you will pass.
Take this teacher, but be prepared to work. You won't regret it! :)
Mr. H is not an easy professor, I got an A in his class but really had to study a lot. He really knows his stuff and will go out of his way to help you understand bio. Those who got C's or failed didn't study well enough. He is thorough in his notes and his test consists of multiple choice, matching, and short answer. Overall a great bio experience
Not the teacher you all claim him to be. He's all about weeding out students. He's doesn't like or have kids, so don't pull any mom excuses. He doesn't care if you are sick or someone dies. His test ARE hard and he prides him self on it. From the book or notes, any small little detail will make it on the test. His Word Web SUCKS and he LIKES that.
Good prof. Writes notes on board 90+% of class (while talking), which you copy and use as study guide for book. Very clear what you need to study, but exams still difficult. Study hard! Remember, his labs are worth more than exams. Good guy, I liked him. Although, he inserts a lot of angst against "creationsists", and isn't at all familiar with ID.
One of the best professors I've ever had. He's thorough, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. He's not an easy A, if that's what you're looking for, but if you pay attention, I guarantee you'll learn the subject material. He does weed out students - the students who should not be attending college. Expect an educator, not a babysitter.
No doubt, he's really awsome. I'm still taking this course during this flex, but I always feel satisfying with his lecture. I know that we have to do something alot with this class, but it should be helpful for our career in the end. The class is neither easy nor hard because there's only things we have to remember are in his note on the board(plea
Very smart, helpful, dry sense of humor. Not easy at all, but he doesnt want what he says parroted. Wants you to think for yourself. Tests are hard, but he will help you if you ask. If he sees you put effort in, he notices and appreciates it. If he sees you not caring or trying, it annoys him and that shows up. Dont take him if you wanna slack.
Very knowledgable. Love how he separated material on "need to know vs nice to know" basis. Def take notes, tests come straight from there. If you seek help he'll guide you properly. Def have to work for your grade.
Mr. H is an awesome teacher!! He really makes you work for your grade (remember its a Sci maj course). I got a B and woo I thought i was getting a C. He is VERY knowledgeable in Biology and is always willing to help. I would definitely take another course taught by him.
Hard tests, great notes
Excellent professor, very good lectures and great notes. If you pay attention in class and work hard you will get a good grade. Makes Biology more interesting, I highly recommend him.
Mr. H is a good teacher, he truly LOVES what he does. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS if you are not going to put any effort and time on it; his classes are reallyyyyyy reallyyyyy hard!! probably the hardest tests I've taken the whole time I've been in college.... I'd happy if I got a low B. Good teacher but EXTREMELY hard class....
You have to work your ass off if you want to get a good grade, i was happy with my b's and sometimes c's... He makes the hardest tests ever!!!! good notes though.
Best professor I've ever hard. His exams are very hard, but he prepares you well and bends over backwards to help you. He recognizes your potential and hard work if you apply yourself. I wish he taught other biology classes I need!
great teacher! i loved his class even though it was very difficult. if you don't bust your tail you will struggle. a helpful tip is pay attention to processes and figures expained.
He did a short lecture, and then he gave you the option of studying in class on your own. His tests were very hard. He did not do any powerpoints. He wrote on the broad. His tests were HARD, half was multiple choice, essay, and crossword puzzle. He would also take off for spelling errors. He was okay. I would not take him again.
A really great Professor who knows his stuff. However, his exams are very difficult. Just have to study!
His notes are wonderful and he does take a lot of time making sure you understand the information. The hard part is that there is a LOT of information being covered at once and his tests are HARD, but labs are fun. I do recommend him and would take him again. College isn't meant to be easy all the time. :)
This professor writes notes on the chalkboard and explains them while talking to the chalkboard. More than half the class dropped. Only gives four exams and a final. No extra credit or opportunity to improve grade. I no longer support the tenured faculty concept. If you think you'll just work hard, I tried it and didn't work.
Prof. H is a great teacher, really quite funny very enjoyable. His chapter outlines are very good. He is always available for assistance. Labs were fun & interesting. His test are only challenging in the sense that he uses a variety of questions; mult choice; matching; crossword etc. If you study you will do well.
He is a GREAT Professor! Yes Biology is hard but he makes you understand everything so well he makes bio not as hard as it seems. He gives 5 exams, and the final. STUDY & you will pass, If you are lazy don't take him because you HAVE to study!! His outlines on the board helps a lot! I really recommend him :)
Excellent teacher. He is very helpful and extremely easy to get along with. You have to put in a lot of effort if you want to pass this class it's not going to be easy. You'll have to take down a lot of notes so be prepared for carpal tunnel syndrome.
Mr. H makes himself extremely available. The only reason you will fail is if you don't really try. I mean study and right down what he says on the board. Learn the patterns to his test and you will succeed.
He is willing to help you out and makes sure you know where to find him to get any extra help/explanation. He does NOT grade on a curve nor does he drop your lowest test grade. But, he is fair. There are 5 tests, 1 special project and the final. Tests are difficult so take good notes and pay attention! I learned a lot! Really liked Professor H.
Great teacher, should be king of the world. Fair to students and really gets what it means to be a college student. He's easy to geta long with and funny. He makes test hard but you will do well if you take notes and study.
Must attend class, be sure to TAKE NOTES , he drops hints on what's on each of the 5 exams so just listen. Hard tester because it's a lot of info on a short test (50questions+crossword+matching). Won't change grades so STUDY for tests - only 6 grades all semester. Got a study group and passed with an A, he was straight up and pretty funny lol
If science has never been a subject you have excelled in, do not take Mr. H as your professor. He is a very nice guy and has a great personality, but this was one of the hardest classes I've every taken at a university level. I've been an A student all my life and I'm having a hard time simply PASSING this class. The tests only get harder, too.
This professor is and excellent instructor. His test are VERY,VERY,VERY,hard, he seems to give you change making extra points with extra paper, but not matter what do you do it is very hard to pass with this instructor. DO NO TAKE HIM in my class only 2 people pass the rest fail. DO NO TAKE HIM.
Best Bio teacher I've ever had. He never said "this is the truth" he only said "this is the accepted theory at the time. go and make your own decision." He will challenge you. just listen to the notes and you will have all the answers to the test.
He is very fair and makes himself available to help students daily. He gives you the notes up front and during the lecture so just listen during class, take a few extra notes, ask questions and review - you will do fine. He does not give the grade away but if you actually do your part as a student, you will be fine.
I really would not recommend this class because the administration recently changed the entire curriculum for non-science majors. Assignments are no longer given in class but rather online yet attendance is still mandatory. His TESTS ARE EXTREMELY HARD but the "learning modules" are like high-school level. Mr. H is great but everything else sucks.
First semester that things have changed, hw and test are online but they are easy. Hw is an easy 100. The tests are kind of hard but all you have to do is read the chapter. Midterm and Final are taken in class and its based on the lab done in class. Overall, a awesome teacher who is super nice and will answer any questions you may have.
Warning!!! Mr. H, alienates himself from his students; he considers himself to be a "MISANTHROPE" (dislikes people) He does NOT LECTURE in class you are expected to teach yourself! HM= easy, Test=hard, not an easy class! You have been warned!!!
Tests & HW are online. HW=easy, tests=hard. Classes are labs, the midterms and finals are from these so be present or get copies from someone in class. He is a cool guy. 1308 had Extra credit, but not 1309. STUDY, STUDY, STUDY! You can not be a slacker in this class and hope to get a good grade. This is college not highschool so get it together!
At first it was difficult to understand the flip course material because your completely responsible for your own teaching, but he covers material in class that is for the mid term and final. Just study and don't rush or wait for the last minute to do the reading and quizzes and you could receive an A.
Mr. H is a solid professor. He makes the material fairly simple to understand given its complexity, and has no problem answering questions. His tests are HARD, so be prepared to study. Not a lot of book reading needed, but you have to REALLY understand the lecture material. He is always happy to help you during his office hours.
You guys really need to stop giving this guy good ratings. I love biology, but this guy is not someone id recommend. Do not be fooled by his over all rating. It really should be closer to a 2.
Do not take him, my previous class had several drop outs and I barely passed. Highly do not recommend him.
His test are very hard. Most of my class dropped out. He does not give any study guides or help determine what you need to focus more on for lab & tests. There is no homework, you take 2 lab tests that make up 15% of your grade each and four lecture exams that take up 15% of your grade and the other 10% is a paper due at the end of semester.
Professor Hagenbuch is a very passionate professor-- his love for all things Biology definitely shows. This is a harder class so slacking off is not an option. Pay attention during lectures, ask questions. I learned so much from this class!! 4 exams including final and 3 lab exams. STUDY FOR YOUR TESTS!! Would def. take again. Great professor.
Mr. H is the best at what he teaches. He has office hours where I was able to ask him my questions. He will help you if you are putting in effort. If you want an easy A in a class with a teacher that doesn't require you to learn then take someone else. Understand your labs. Copy all notes that he writes on the chalkboard. Study them! You will pass!
Very rude professor, every time i asked a question he gave me funny looks, making me feel dumb and uncomfortable to ask questions. I ask for extra credit he didn't gave it to me because it would be unfair to other student, yet he told two girls from my class they didn't had to take exam one he would just average the next two exam and extra credit.
I'm taking Mr. H right now, 4 tests, 2 labs will determine your grade. Your labs are done with whoever you end up sitting by your first day which sucks, the people I sit with constantly mess these labs up and don't thoroughly read instructions. Mr. H doesn't check your labs so all of your answers could be wrong. No study guides. Take someone else
He prefers to use a chalk board still which makes reading his notes your supposed to copy difficult. Tests are very hard, start studying early. No extra credit. Labs are confusing due to his poor instructions and he never checks them so its up to you to make sure you understand your labs for your lab exam. I am aiming for a C :(
His gen. bio course is probably to difficult for freshman with only high school skills. Theres no study guides so youre on your own. His notes make it seem like the test will be easy... it's not. The wording of the test questions is incredibly difficult. I personally have trouble understanding what I need to know, (do I need draw biochemicals?)
WARNING AVOID!!!!!!!! Very short lecture notes that are very useless, you never know what is on the exams, tries his best to make exams as difficult as possible. He's not much of a teacher since he does not really teach, he gives 5 min lecture notes and has you do lab for the reminder of time.
DO NOT TAKE BIO WITH THIS PROFESSOR!! He grades very harshly and doesn't believe in curving or rounding up anything. The only grades you get are exam grades so if you don't do well on them (which most likely you won't because everyone in my class is failing) then you will literally be screwed. Pick a different professor PLEASE.
4 exams, 2 lab exams, that's it. Hardest exams ever. Studying your notes isn't enough, NO STUDY GUIDES so it's hard to know what to prepare for! exam 1 multiple choice ?'s were worth like 40-50 points, match definitions/whats happening where in a picture 20, a crossword puzzle 20, then short answers and draw bio chemicals. TRY TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE
He makes you feel dumb for asking questions so who would want to come ask questions outside of class or after. He comes off as lazy due to NO STUDY GUIDES & doesn't even check to see if you labs are correct which you need to study for your lab exams. lecture exam- multiple choice, matching, crossword puzzle, short answers. Don't take bio with him
Only assigns tests for the whole semester and doesnt bother to make sure his students are prepared. All you will do is show up, attempt to copy down a chalkboard full of notes while he talks/do labs you will never know whether youre doing right/try to pass his tough tests which do not coincide with his notes. no assignments/HW/guides. STAY AWAY!
Mr. H wants you to learn. He is happy to answer questions and has a lot of office hours in the afternoon. You can normally speak with him between classes too. A great professor who offers support and assistance, but you have to be willing to learn. Biology is tough at the university level. Mr. H's standards are high to meet that need.
Lets say you're in the hospital on a test day and obviously you can't make it to school but you have proof you were very ill, "karl" will not let you make up that test. Many people have to drop due to his strict, unreasonable testing rules. He seems to enjoy being a jerk and is very unhelpful. Avoid him if you can otherwise suffer for a few months
He is tough no doubt, and does not give "reviews" and only gives four test, 2 lab exams. His notes on the board are on the test. He does give short answer tests/MC, crossword, and matching. I only opened the book for the pictures he puts on the exam, I did no reading, only studied his notes, recored lec. helps. Lots of extra credit on test! STUDY!
HE ONLY DOES TEST GRADES! Nothing else in class is counted so if you mess up a test you are screwed. Lots of studying and details in this class. Difficult but doable. Just be ready and stay on top of things.
Professor H loves what he teaches and cares about students. He is fairly old-school in his style, mainly writing notes on the board. If you study his lecture notes, you can pass his exams. It helps to have had high school biology (which makes sense for a college-level class). If you want an "easy A", that's not his goal - and that's a good thing.
Take anyone but him! He comes across nice and his lectures seem easy as he barely goes into depth on any particular thing. Then his exams are so in depth and confusing it makes you wonder where he is coming from. I am a really good student but he leaves you not knowing what to expect or what to even study!!! HORRIBLE
Save your time & money & find someone else. Half my class dropped & I believe only a handful are passing. Graded only by exams, no study guides & the notes suck. Labs are useless, he doesn't help or check them so you could be studying the wrong stuff for your lab exams. He makes every exam as hard as he possibly can. It's a shame he is a "teacher"
You definitely learn a lot from Karl's course. If you are a MAJOR slacker "EASY A" person. DO NOT TAKE. if you want to learn and put in work for a grade you should take him. He was not easy. You have to study for the test very efficiently. I learned a lot but the class was not an EASY A type of class, But it's possible if you STUDY.
Grades you only on Tests, you mainly have test on lectures , chapters and labs. Everything he mentions in lecture is on test. If you don't study you wont pass. He's super cool, and very clear. Gives no extra credit, and makes you want to understand the material. I loved his class even though i failed. Most people take course 2x.
The only grades you receive are your tests and if you fail them it is hard to bring your grade back up. You are given no review for the tests and you just have to study ALL the material from your labs and lectures, not knowing what is and isn't on it.
I took this professor for spring right before I graduated and I just want to say he is the worst.
Hagenbunch is A very lettuce heavy class of course. He doesn't make learning interesting, if u want to pass u better be studying hours after class bc u have to learn the diagrams in the book. He only graded us on our 4 tests and 1 lab @the end which was horrible bc if u fail 1 test ur screwed &HE DOES NO TEST [email protected] dropped this BAD professor.
My advice is take someone else if you can, otherwise prepare for the connect program on all of your homework-- which is a nightmare to use. Purchase a physical test book and take physical notes, otherwise it's probable you won't understand the material. Hagenbuch moves on quickly in his letters so if you miss it--than you miss it.
Hagenbuch is...a little unique. He's a little dismissive, and very boring; it often seems like he's perpetually annoyed or just doesn't like his job, so my advice is take someone else if you can. The tests are online take home exams and are pretty hard. Also his lectures are very fast paced, so be prepared to enter a very stressful course.
This guy is the best. There's maybe 30 minute lecture and then the rest of the class is labs. And they aren't boring labs either, you can tell he outs effort into his labs. I definitely recommend taking him.
He is an Amazing and respected professor! He is clear on what he wants and will always be willing to help you no matter what. There are 5 exams online and 1 final really easy if you take notes and do the modules.
This class is an easy A Just take good notes
I can't even begin to try and understand students who give him these overly fantastic ratings. He's rude, and makes me feel dumb on a regular basis. About half of the class doesn't even bother to show up. So he doesn't drop based on attendance anymore because he wouldn't have anyone left in class. He flat out does not care one bit.
Professor Hagenbuch is such a nice person, but that doesn't mean his class is easy. He makes you really earn the grade that you want. He even stated on the first day of class that he will not round any grade nor give extra credit, which is true. His tests are straight memorization since more than half of the test are free responses.
Really nice guy. The 4 lecture exams are tough because he doesn't give you a study guide, but he gives you points to study specifically from the chapters during his lectures, so you will have to take the time to study in the book to prepare. Good labs and he gives you what to study for the lab exams. Interesting class, but tough.
Labs are fun. Lectures are just note taking. No review fro exams. Need to learn everything on notes because only 20% of exam is multiple choice. No extra credit. No curves. To pass an exam you really need to study for it. Exams expect details that were in lecture notes. For the exam he tells you to study your notes which are about 2-3 pg of notes.
Majority of the class failed. All exams and lab quizzes were not take home like the reviews say. He tells you to only study your notes and not read the book. READ THE BOOK!! Theres so much that is on the test that comes from the book but not from lecture/notes. If you dont understand lab or lecture and if you ask for help he makes you feel dumb.
Ever had a professor that makes you hate your own major? Thats this guy. Absolutely brutal with the material on exams.
He's a pretty nice person, but one of the worst teachers I've ever had. The lectures are way too fast, and he will not make the power points he uses available. He does occasionally give group quizzes, and a chance for extra credit, but be prepared to struggle and probably not get much help. The labs were nicely done though.
If you don't try, you won't pass. If you aren't putting in the effort then save your time and money and enroll in another Professors course which you probably won't learn anything in. Take advantage of his office hours! He is always available to help and wants you to understand the material.
If you read the textbook and study consistently, you will get a good grade. You NEED to read the textbook. The only things you're graded on are the tests, quizzes, and attendance. The best person to study with would be the professor himself, visit him during his office hours and he'll totally help you. Also he's just a fun guy to talk to.
Prof H is a great teacher. This class is hard, really really hard, but I would still take it again. The lectures are short, about 50 mins on average, and the labs don't take more than 20 mins most days. Instead most of the time you spend for this class should be studying - if you want to pass you have to study literally everything.
Lecture is usually short but If you dont read the assigned chapters beforehand, you should probably take notes. Make sure to ask questions if you dont understand a topic because he basically repeats what the textbook says. Labs were easy to understand for the most part. Not much hw
Professor H is a great person. His lectures are really concise but still comprehensive. Definitely still go over the chapters because he will not go over every single detail. In-class examples and practice were really helpful and overall not much work is required. Take notes over lectures and the labs and you'll be just fine!
I mean he was cool and funny I just didn't understand a lot of his lectures. I still got a good grade but I got the grade and didn't retain any information.
Mr.h seemed like a cool guy, but that did not translate into his teaching. the lectures are extremely boring and honestly don't help in the tests or quizzes. his tests are EXTREMELY hard and if you arent well versed in the material then find another teacher. the quizzes are not bad along with the labs. use tutoring and all the resources you can.
Read, this aint a class for anyone looking to just get by, Im writing this review because most of the time students who hardly apply themselves write negative reviews. Professor H knows his stuff, he will clarify and help you understand as long as you bring your insights of the material. Use all the resources, tutors, online labs! Read Read Read!
Professor H is the best professor I've had at San Antonio College. There is a lot of information to retain, but its Biology! If you have great work ethic and actually put effort in to pass, you will. His lectures are no longer than 45 minutes but the key to passing this class is to take lots of notes and study them. Extra credit labs are available.
