His class is NOT a throw away class you WILL be learning here. Its laid out as a no non-sense study your butt of approach. Don’t expect to cram in the practical the night before, and expect to pass(YOU WONT) Expect to know what your talking about to get through the lectures, and practical exams. I had him for BIO181 and he was a REAL GOOD instructor! I would've given anything to take him for BIO201 but somehow my schedule didn't allow it. I bet he's helps you a lot in BIO201 too! Just read over his powerpoints, READ the book, and memorize everything for the practicals, cuz they make a huge difference in your grade!

Dr. Krout is one of the best educators I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. He takes a guinuine interest in the students who want to learn. He is more than helpful. Even his stupid comments are funny. He makes A&P make sense even when it doesn't. Over all he is one of the best professors I have had since returning to college.

Dr. Krout is AMAZING. I don't know what some of these people are talking about--the tests are STRAIGHT from the notes. Tests are long, but as long as you study, you're good. He is SO HELPFUL and he's actually really funny in class. He really knows what he's talking about, I wish he was teaching over the summer!! Take him!!!!!

THIS GUY.....everything you see on here is true...he is very interesting and funny, but can get overly technical and lost in details. My 201 teacher had practiced medicine for 20+ years and had a good grip on whats useful. Krout is hardcore college and goes on and on...I'm an A student with a B grade. Daily quizes and marks down for spelling!

AMAZING teacher, Very helpful and fun in class! There is a ton of information but if you love Anatomy then you won't mind memorizing or studying. The tests are DIRECTLY from the notes. The book is there for help but he doesn't teach from it (still helpful to get it though because you can use if for 202 as well). Great Class!! Loved it!

Really funny teacher, kinda goofy and likes to makes jokes. He's extremely helpful, when I couldn't make it to a class, I would go to his office and he would go over everything I missed. His class isn't easy, but it's interesting and you just have to study.

Great teacher. Wish i took him for 202 but he had funky times. HE is hilarious and makes the class lots of fun. You do have to study, but not quite as hard as many professors. HE answers any questions you have. Also, the pictures he shows when you do good on tests are awesome! =]

I took Karl for Bio 201 and it was a really fun class. He doesn't really use the book, but it's really good to have to refer to. His class can be difficult if you don't stay on top of it all the way through, but he is definitely one of the best instructors I've had yet. He is very excellent at explaining things and gives plenty of examples.

By far the BEST TEACHER I have ever had. I took him for both 201 and 202. I wish he was able to teach all of my classes because he is so clear and I learned so much. The subject matter is difficult, dont blame the teacher. Lectures and PowerPoints are clear, direct and cover materials on tests. Tests are not, "pick the obvious one;" know the information. This is not a 100 level, first year, "show up get an A class." Grades are fair and extra credit is available. He is and helpful and available.

Don't just memorize, learn the material from every angle. Lab is great, lecture is boring as he just stands and reads. It is a precursor to Nursing and a somewhat hard class already, but put the time and effort in that the class requires and it is an easy A. The textbook is not necessary. All of the source material is on the slides he provides and putting that information into flashcards or into an outline will get you a few points of extra credit. At first I thought this was a tough class. He doesn't make you read the book, so everything on the exams are from the lecture and PowerPoint slides. I urge you to carefully go over what he says more than what is on the slides. He talks about a lot more useful information. I got better towards the end when I finally figured out his testing style

Krout was an amazing teacher and really cares about the well-being of his students. He grades hard but gives you an ample amount of time and enough resources to be able to get the grade you want if you put in the work. He makes learning fun and interesting. Get the AP Revealed online it costs around 50 but it is well worth it for the practicals.

Bio202 covers a lot of material, but Dr. Krout does a great job teaching the material. The lectures are easy to follow, and he uses analogies to help make the information clear. Be sure to go to lab to practice the anatomy portion. One thing I really liked about Dr. Krout is that if you email him with questions he always gets back right away.

I took the hybrid online course. The instructor is invested in student success and a fair grader, but you have to put in the work. Your grade is directly linked to the level of mastery of the (difficult) material. I never had to use outside resources other than his provided Youtube lectures. Was available frequently both email and in person.

Krout is a good professor. He knows his stuff and is knowledgeable. Beware though if you take his class you are going to NEED to put the work in outside of class. He gives you general course objectives for exams but you'll need to take notes and keep reviewing the online lectures again & again until you master it. Not easy but definitely doable!

I took Dr Krout and ended up withdrawing the course, I would still yet rate him 5 stars because the course in general is difficult yet he is fantastic he responds quickly to canvas emails, he will communicate with you and give his best advice when it comes to passing. Be prepared to study hard form a study group with your classmates.

Professor Krout is very knowledgeable, a fast grader and understanding. 201 is a hard class and will require a lot from you just be open to learning and watching his lecture videos and you'll be fine
