the best!
A fanastic teacher. Really puts effort to help the student learn. Wants you to succeed. A great asset to UCF
Best class at UCF! Very beneficial course with an awesome professor who really knows what he is talking about. Take this class!
Great teacher. Really cares about his students.
Awesome teacher, very enthusiastic. Do everything you can to take his Pro. Selling class.
I can't believe no one mentioned his testing! Two tests all 20 questions are in essay format, challenging to say the least. He might be a nice man but his teaching style is not clear I would definatly recommend taking another prof. selling teacher.
Professor definitely knows his stuff but for those just starting out or undeclared freshmen, I highly discourage! I found out the hard way and the truth is his teaching style is not ideal for beginners. A very tough class and far from an easy teacher.
I HATE this class SO much, i can't even explain it. NEVER EVER TAKE THIS CLASS. It has taught me nothing, it is a pointless class, and not easy either, 2 test total, all essay, and a 9 page business plan. If you do bad on 1 you are basically screwed.
Great teacher. The best I ever had at UCF.

The best class I took at UCF! He is a great teacher, it is very easy to attend lectures. I learned a lot at his Professional Selling Class.

He gives 2 20 question essay tests-but he emphasizes what the questions will be-he is very nice, but loses his temper quite often(he yelled at a student b/c he asked a question & told him not to come to class anymore).I hate selling so I didn't enjoy this class, but overall he is a decent professor.
I thought this class was going to help me learn the sectors of business and be able to help me decide which way I wanted to go with my major. I have never been more disapointed. This teacher will make you want to cry from boredem. Please avoid!!!!!
Awesome Prof. probably one of the best at UCF
The two tests are essay and pretty difficult, but he grades them leniently. The role plays are fun, and he's not too hard on you. He definitely plays favorites, and isn't very helpful if you have questions. He's kind of a strange guy to be honest, but a good professor for the most part.
I now have a job in professional sales, and a lot of the stuff you learn in this class can be applied to the real world. Good class to take for any major.
Great teacher! really cares about helping people with there presentation fears and wants people to enjoy the class. Tests are short answer and can be hard, alot of material to memorize.
Sooder is the man. I took him over summer, his tests were not essays, but multiple choice. He definately plays favorites when it comes to the roleplays, but that's understandable, he doesn't want nervous and shy people up there, it wouldn't be fun. Great guy, seems sincere in his caring for students, a little quirky, but hey, who isn't?
Wonderful teacher! Tests are pretty difficult with essays on Lincoln book. Goes easy on role plays and understands how uncomfortable they are. Take him if you get the opportunity!
He is no position to be teaching. Totally flipped out on a student the other day for making a couple of mistakes on their presentation. It was very inappropriate. Considers himself a "coach". DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS DURING THE SUMMER. Very uncomfortable learning environment.
I took Sooder's class because his previous ratings were good. I regret taking this class after what I saw the other day. He basically harrassed a student after they did their role play. Constructive critism is ok, but that was completely inappropriate. He lacks communication skills completely. I lost all respect for him after what I saw.
Flipped out on a couple students last week in a very cheap manner over minor mistakes made on their presentations. I don't understand how anybody could say he's helpful. He keeps complaining that this class should not be held during the summer. Get Over it Dr. Sooder!!!! His lectuers drag and you wanna pull your hair out during class. What an A-hol
I took this class because of good ratings, but that was a big mistake. The man is nuts and flips out and will humiliate you in front of the class if you mess up on a role play. I definitely felt like I was in 6th grade with the way he plays favorites. The tests were not too bad.
Tests are not too bad. Lost it in class over a roleplay, really humiliated not only the other student, but put the remaining students in a very akward position. Wasn't a very friendly learning environment. I decided to take this class because of previous positive ratings, but now I'm hesitant to recommend this teacher.

I really enjoyed this class. He is am awesome teacher! He definitely plays favorites though, so get in good with him early on.
Real nice teacher, tries to be funny...do your work and you'll at least get a B
He sucks. class is easy. Thats about the only positive. He does no work just puts up the powerpoint slides the book provides him. Claims to make up the tests himself but clearly does not. Wastes time and usually takes to the end of class. Throws in random curse words to sound versed. Throws childish temper tantrums for no rational reason. Kook!
painfully boring class. he doesn't teach, uses powerpt slides straight from the book. acts very childish, punished the entire class when like 2 people were talking. has the most inefficient process for passing out tests; literally sat there for like 20 minutes waiting to get a damn test EVERY TIME.
Ok teacher. Class is preety boring and he goes through the notes preety fast. If you read and study all the chapters in the big book you should do fine in the class. The case work you have to do its really easy and if you read all the chapters know all the terms you should do well in the class. Tests are 50 questions multiple choice.
I honestly did not know how to study for the class. He says to read the book & chapter reviews, and go online and take the practice exams and that's what I did. I got a C in the class! You have to really read the book and understand it. Sometimes he makes questions that you wouldn't think would be on the tests.
The class is easy if you read the text and do the online tests, but Sooder freaked out all semester! I seriously felt like I was back in high school. Had the class stand outside for 10 minutes during our 7am final because two people talked when he started talking at the beginning. Seriously needs a chill pill!
Sales Force Management - only read the summaries in the end of each chapter and got an A- on the first test. The rest of the exams were harder. There was a shadowing assignment - which he only passes out in class. There was one paper due - again only in class. Reads textbook slides REALLY fast - no time to type/write everything down.
Easy class overall. His lectures are useless, he doesnt teach anything, but you need to attend for the quizzes and other easy assignments. His tests are mostly definitions.
Ive figured it out...this man is IN-SANE and we should feel bad for him. class sucks. sometimes he pauses while talking so he can think of more bee-es to say...and boy does he go on. terrible teacher. curses wildly on occasion, not cool. do not take him. a nuisance.
uses PP slides N reads fast. 1 field assignment graded on a pass(+) fail(-) and never announced it
Easy class. Don't bother going to class, just get the questions for the Harvard Cases and Field Assgn. from someone else. Go for the easy quizzes. Read text book for tests and you'll be fine. He doesn't teach anything, just reads through the slides so fast it sounds like a foreign language. Wouldn't take him again, but he's easy !!!
Definitely helpful to own the book because he doesn't post his slides online and all of the lectures are straight from the book. I wouldn't recommend going to class except on quiz and test days because you'll never be able to take notes as fast as he talks and it would probably be more benefitial to just study the book on your own time.
Worst teacher I have ever had! He picked favorites and then told the rest of the class that we were dumb and would never be smarter than his favorites. Rude to students and used profanities alot when he felt students were not paying attention. Horrible teacher, avoid at all costs!!! He should not be allowed to teach because of how unhelpful he
I didn't think he was all that bad. He's a little odd for sure, but the class isn't that hard. I just went off the slides for the 1st test and did terrible, then stopped going to class and read the book and got a B+ on the next test. Get the book (even though I couldn't sell it back) and read it, test aren't that tough.
Easy class. Don't bother taking notes from the slides, just read the book. Doesn't post slides online. Go to class to take the quizes/tests. Otherwise, attendance isn't necessary. Doesn't post the instructions for the case study or field assignment either, so make sure to get those from another student. Just buy the book and you'll do fine.
While kooky, he loves what he teaches. Get him on your good side- talk to him after class and participate in class discussions. Sometimes doesn't know how to control his anger. READ the book and make sure you understand it. He always answers emails and is very helpful. Very intelligent man- I'll most likely visit him after I graduate too.
I took him in a summer class. Class was so boring going over exactly what was in the book. He keeps you to the very last minute. Randomly takes attendance. When it came to the tests though they werent that bad and he graded the cases pretty easy, just follow the example case he gives you. I guess I would take him again.
He told us we could use the older book. Attendance was mandatory, checked with CPS clicker. Does not like class murmuring/talking, can be rude to you if you are rude to him as a class. Don't bother writing notes in class, it's all from the book. Read the book, show up for class, and you'll do ok. He usually lets us out early, of a three hourlecture
Checks attendance by using clickers but bring something to class to keep you busy cuz he goes threw the notes so fast you dont have time to write them down. Tests arent too bad as long as you study
hard tests. harvard case was easy. quizes were kinda hard too.
Pretty easy elective. Attendance was NOT mandatory. The tests were OK, you just have to read everything in the chapters. 2 written papers (about 4-5 pages). 3 easy quizzes. I would take him again.
The class itself isn't too bad. Lectures can be boring. Attendence isn't mandatory, but class notes are helpful. Loves guest speakers. The value props help your grade a lot. EASY CLASS, NICE PROFESSOR. He works with you and is understanding. A little on the kooky side but overall a great class. I would take him again.
excellent prof take him
Professional Selling as a class sucks (role plays are not fun in front of the whole class on a huge screen) but hes not bad at all. The tests are very easy, all key terms and information from the book. He grades pretty easy on the role plays anyways.
This guy is absolutely insane!! His class is fairly easy but it's not worth it. You will go crazy sitting in his class. Take someone else!
SO incredibly boring. Talks about nothing for the first hour of class. Tests are hard.
horrible professor, extremely boring. refuses to give notes or powerpoint everything is IN THE BOOK. Worse class ive ever taken at UCF.
assignments are vague and unrealistic. Does not give you any notes or study guide. Professional but not helpful and unnecessarily hard! Boring.
Awesome Teacher. I will take any class he teaches. Can be quirky but he is brilliant and has real world experience. I would recommend him if you actually want to learn something. So much of marketing in theory, his classes make you work and understand the theory. You are the one that makes your education why not make it worth while.
Strange man. Easy class just read the book and get him to give you a copy of the slides. He likes to talk about himself. Overall good class.
very smart. He knows his work. very nice and helpful. I will take his other advance classes.
Karl is a great instructor who is passionate about teaching. He has a more impressive resume and more connections than just about any other professor at UCF. Take his class and get to know him you wont regret it.
He's an awesome teacher & I learned more in this class than any other class b/c of the role plays in professional selling. Earned an A as long as you follow all the requirements in the role play. 2 exams in the beginning of the semester that you do really have to read the book. Final is a final role play. I definitely recommend him.
Grade basically consists of 2 exams and 2 role plays. Exams are not challenging if you read the book/do practice quizzes. Role plays are annoying because you don't get a "test" run. Your first try is something like a quarter of your final grade. He claims to have experience in selling but doesn't demonstrate it with examples. Still, recommended.
Great professor. Class is not bad at all. 2 tests that weren't hard and two role plays. He is very nice and very helpful. I strongly recommend.
Extremely dull teacher. Learned nothing from this class. He is a very strange dude and only seems to care about his PCP students. Tests are somewhat difficult and the two papers are a complete waste of time. He loves the word etc, by the end of the semester you'll despise it. Only good thing is you don't have to go to class.
Easy class if you study for the test. He gives a "Value Prop" with every test that act as a built in curve. He is a weird guy and he does favor his PCP students but its all good. The two papers are easy and the presentation is the easiest I've done at UCF. As long as you study the power points there is no need to read the book.
One of the best classes I've ever had. If I could, I would take it again. He's very helpful and clear. You actually use what you learn every day in his class. 2 tests are book based and 2 role plays are easy if you prepare for them. Take this class with him if you can!
This is the best professor I have had in UCF. He is really funny and makes class fun to be in. Unlike the other selling classes he gives you a chance to do a role play before the final which is VERY helpful. Tests are super easy but you have to read the books. Super helpful in class and out of class even if you dont have him as a professor anymore
Sooder is GREAT! He tells you EXACTLY what you need to do to get an A. He's a former business person who worked with BIG NAMES in the REAL WORLD - his understanding of subject is evident in lecture. Do the reading, prepare the role plays, come to class, and you'll get an A. I would recommend this even as an elective for non marketing majors.
This guy is a JOKE! He only favors his professional selling students and people who are interested in joining.. the rest of the students are graded unfairly and he is extremely inconsistent!DO NOT take him if you value learning and being treated equal. He reads directly from slides and expects you to read entire book and know every statistic!
Do not take him. He acts as if the only students who matter in this class are his psp students. Gave another student help before me and then told me too bad when I needed the same assistance. Unprofessional and he reads right from the slides that the textbook gave him. Take someone else if possible! Totally unfair. Confusing tests, unclear.
Taking his professional selling class and I enjoy the course. Doesnt favor his psp students just trying to get students involved. He does have a lot of the marketing organizations come and speak. His exams are a bit challenging even with the book. Personally, the roleplays are easy as long as you take notes. Interesting course you learn a lot
This class requires a lot of work. He has 2 exams within the first 5 weeks of class. I read both the textbook and Lincoln book cover to cover within those first few weeks of class. He's very helpful on role plays and lets you do a practice before the final. Much less work required in this class than other teachers. Definitely recommend him!!
This class offers helpful information for the future such as resume writing and how to communicate in the business world. Mr. Sooder is a character for sure, but he can be a bit difficult to understand because he goes off on tangents and he's too busy talking about his Vespa scooter. He can be somewhat rude and demeaning but the class is helpful.
Mr Sooder is a bit crazy but an awesome teacher. Don't listen to other people. Yes, take his class. Do the work. He tells you how to get an A. Don't piss him off. He is one of the top teachers at UCF. If you need helpfrom him, ask!
Great teacher, He is very helpful and will go out of his way to make sure you succeed. the material a bit challenging and the role plays are intimidating, but he helps you prepare! Funny guy!
Professor Sooder is a bit crazy. The class over all was okay, once you start doing the role plays than it gets very boring! Don't buy the text book
Sooder is pretty nuts, but in a funny way. The role plays are intimidating, but he helps you every step of the way with what he expects and is always approachable for help. 2 exams, 1 practice and 1 final role play. Get to know him and the class will become easier and less intimidating.
This guy is a nut and a terrible professor. All he does is name drop and talk about how great the people he associates with are. With that said its an easy B
His class is a great way to get over your fear of selling or to just brush up your skills. Book is necessary in order to ace the tests. He makes sure everyone is clear on what the guidelines are in order to pass the class.
The class material is great if you are going into sales as a career. Prof Sooder's tests and quizzes are hard. The required papers are easier and he uses this to help offset his tough tests. If he tells you to look over something because he will quiz you on it, I suggest studying it and reading it several times. Just don't "look over" it.
Great Professor! Tests are challenging but you'll do fine if you read the book.
He is a great guy! Able to help after class and office hours. Role playing was fun and easy if you listen to him because he tells you what he wants. 2 Tests I found hard but if you do well otherwise you will be fine.
extremely boring. he doesn't articulate himself well and will spend 20 minutes saying the same thing in four different ways. he like to repeat himself, but doesn't go over important information that you need to know. ugh. an unfortunate summer school course.
Was a good class, learned skills to get a job and be able to sell my skills at job interviews. Really does know his stuff and cares for students, sometimes a little too overwhelming but he is very passionate.
I wouldn't take this professor again, he has little to no patience for students who are struggling with his class. Took him for Professional Selling.
