Easily one of my favorite teachers. She is very sweet and makes time for students needs. She brings a great atmosphere to class and relates her lecture to things shes actually done, which makes it much more interesting.

Super nice, funny, and offers help on projects. Tests are extremely easy as long as you go over notes and key terms from the book. Lots of videos!

intro to anthro with karla is awesome, she keeps the class fun and the 2 hour lecture goes by quickly. study your notes and the tests are easy. shes so pretty and an amazing teacher

Her class has been the best one I've had at USF. She's awesome. It's always interesting, and she's so nice and approachable. She's really funny and easy to talk to. I loved that class, and I wish I had another like it. It's the ONLY class I wanted to be in every day. She's by far the best professor!

Had this teacher for Intro to Anthropology, it's a really easy class and she is helpful, clear, and doesn't assign much work.

EASY CLASS, except for the group project that you have to do in the end.

Liberal feminist that likes to mix her politics and pedagogy. Overall not bad, but I could have done without the "war for oil" and white male-bashing lectures.

She made the subject very easy, but her tests were harder than i thought they would be. She was helpful, but a very hard grader, i thought i was going to get a b in the class and i ended up getting a C.

Took her class last semester and I loved it. I didn't really go to class half the time and I still got an A. The only thing I didn't like was the group projects because it's hard when you have some people who aren't serious about their grade.

AMAZING teacher! Her lectures where interesting, funny, and they did not drag on! 3 tests and a quiz. Not hard one bit if you keep up with lectures and at least skim the readings...although I read them all because they were actually interesting! Take her! You'll love her!

I thought this class would be a breeze bc of what ppl wrote on here.. WRONG! I studied before every test and have a low C right now, no chances for extra credit and the tests are hard, even though theres only 3. My advice, if you have to take it never miss class and study, study, study... if you dont have to, then SAVE yourself-it's boring and hard

Mrs. Davis is a very intelligent woman. She knows her subject very well,is a great teacher, and her tests couldn't be any easier. I ALWAYS study for her tests the night before and ALWAYS average about an 86%. I skip her class about 3 times a month and I still make good grades. She is very helpful and quite funny.-This was a RajaRickin comment.

She has great lectures and the classes are always interesting. Even the videos she shows can be interesting. The tests are all multiple choice but no matter how much studying is done I never get an A. Shes young and nice and is very loose/friendly/open. Will answer your questions and has us discuss even the videos. Fairly easy class if you go.

Dr. Davis is a great professor, she's animated during every lecture and she picks good videos. She encourages discussion, and is nice to all of the students! I learned a lot in this class. She's totally cute, too. This class is easy if you show up, listen, and take notes, otherwise tho, you're in trouble (you can't just read the book).

Dr. Davis is one of the best professors I've had here. I went into Anthro not knowing a thing about it, and ended up deciding to major in it, after taking her class. She makes her lectures interesting, and shows fantastic videos. The tests aren't INSANELY easy, you do have to study (review your notes) for them a bit.

Dr. Davis is a great teacher. I initially took her Intro to Anthro class and loved it! Her lectures are interesting and easy to understand, just make sure you attend because she gives weekly quizzes and bases her exam questions on information discussed in class. Must do the reading! There's also a 10 pg paper at the end but she helps you with it.

She loves her topic, but be sure to take it seriously. I think she gets offended if you make a joke in class, but she's super nice and will take time to answer all questions, responds to emails very quickly and you can learn a lot from her personal experiences. Highly recommend for Anthro Majors only otherwise you will be lost.

Took the class because I had to but ended up learning a lot. She is a great instructor and very fair.

Dr. Davis is one of the best professors I have had at USF. Her class is so interesting and she is really nice. I didn't know anything about anthropology before I took her class but I loved it so much I am taking another anthropology class next semester. If you get the chance take her class!

Dr. Davis was a pretty decent teacher. I took Intro to Anthropology and there were only 4 tests the entire year with the exam not being cumulative. You MUST attend the review sessions that are the class before the exam if you want to pass the test.

She's a sweetheart. Talking annoys her. Listening to what she says in lectures makes the already-easy exams easier. Read if you want...I never did. I got an A just by showing up and taking some notes. She gives you her powerpoint so if you don't go to class, use that and the book and you'll do fine. 1 quiz, 4 exams, & she drops your lowest grade.

Really sweet and totally helpful. The tests are really easy(all multiple choice), just read your notes over once or twice and you'll be set. She gives you a syllabus in the beginning and that's exactly what you stick to. I never used my textbook and I'm getting an A.

One of the best professors at USF! She knows her stuff! I wish people would have been more respectful of her in the Fall 07 lecture class. She is a highly successful archaeologist and people chose to be rude and loud in her class, if you take her be respectful! There is so much you can learn from her and I promise you will have fun doing it!!!

Course was self explainatory. I found the class to be fairly easy. She loves to ramble on tangents and the videos are very vidid. She is very easy on the eyes and kinda funny!

Great Teacher... Very energetic... cute kids... The material is easy to understand. The tests are sometimes worded weird. Very easy class... Come to class... there are four exams and at the end she replaces your lowest grade (all except for the final) for your final grade. I got an A

This class is the best! Not too demanding, only 4 exams. Go to class and you'll do fine. She is the cutest thing ever, so class is not boring at all. Do not really need the book, study off her notes and you'll do fine.

There's weekly breakout session now which you have to go to for credit. Also she assigns two essays, but there's no final exam. Some parts you might have to study a bit because it's just memorizing terms, but I found the class pretty easy. She's very nice and her lectures are usually pretty interesting. Recommended.

She is proof that a good teacher makes all the difference. I was taking Anthro. with another teacher and hated it, then a friend suggested switching to Prof. Davis's class and I loved it! She is so helpful and really makes her classes interesting. I definitly suggest taking her.

Karla was a terrific professor. She is a bit spacy and the agenda changes OFTEN but her class was really interesting and you come away with alot of knowledge. I reccomend her for sure.

One of the best professors i've had. She made the class very interesting. Her exams maybe a little challenging but the exams are derived from her notes and consist of several multiple choice questions and a few short. essay questions. Definately go to the discussion sections as attendance is mandatory and you learn alot.

Boring class but easy. The grading systme has only one test and one paper each 25%, so dont mess up on the test or your screwed. DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK i did not use it at all. Take this class if your looking for 4 credits, not hard at all.

Fun class. I had an early morning class, and stopped going halfway through the semester and got an A, but you are required to attend discussion, which counts as attendance. The book is very helpful at clarifying the things Mrs. Davis-S cannot. I think she knows her material but she has trouble recalling and explaining some things to students. fun.

Really nice lady. Likes to know her students. Makes it as interesting and funny as possible with her pictures. Try to get Racine as TA for discussion. Racine is a really nice guy and grades nicely as well. Exams are tricky... Like SAT (multiple answers could be right) just know your stuff. Discussion is fun and helps clarify some things.

Extremely amazing professor! Extremely interesting material. Watched a movie almost every class after a short note session. Attendance not mandatory however ALL of her test questions comes from the notes and video. Notes are posted online but not all. FYI if you miss a class videos are available in library :)

Extremely fun class! Dr. Davis-Salazar gains your attention and makes you want to come to class everyday. She gives powerpoints, and lectures from them. There are only a couple of tests, so make sure you study your notes from lecture. The discussions are more hands-on and a lot of fun. Take this Professor if you want an 'A'!

She's a very good teacher and her classes are really fun.I'm not sure if she covers the material perfectly, but the class is easy and interesting.My TA, Anne Pfister, was great too.The tests are easy and the final project isn't hard, as long as you have a good group.She and her TA's are all helpful. I would just recommend to not buy the book.

This Environmental Anthropology class is very interesting. As always Dr.Davis is passionate in her work, and she's a very down to earth professor that makes me feel that I have a chance of receiving a PhD in Harvard some day. Working with groups is a requirement, but being a senior level course, working with others is a valuable experience.

Dr Davis made anthropology super interesting and engaging. She makes the lectures fun, with guest speakers and, several labs and mini field trips around campus. She doesn't believe in exams, so all grading is done via essays, lab reports, field trip reports (both done in class), etc. The final 'exam' is an essay about the course content

I loved this class! This was one of a few classes that I would actually be excited about going to. Very interesting material and she makes classes fun. She also gets to know every single student. There are 4 essays but if you go to class they arent hard to write, shes also very lenient on grading. Definitely one of my favorite professors!

Amazing professor. Because of this class, I am adding a minor in anthropology to my degree. Fun lectures, fun activities in every class, and she brings in guest speakers often. No textbook, and attendance is a grade. (But missing a few days won't hurt your grade much)

She was so nice throughout the entire semester! Gave good feedback, you will need to read through the textbook and the stuff she posts to get a good grade on the canvas assignments, shes a pretty tough grader about those.

I LOVED Dr. Davis this semester. I was dreading this course, and I still don't love the amount of group work and essays, but she made it enjoyable. Dr. Davis obviously cares about what she's teaching, and really vibes will the class members.

Professor Davis is very sweet, her lectures are insightful and not boring. There are weekly online textbook assignments and once a week there are in class workshop assignments. One group project at the end worth a lot of points, but its fun and engaging. Easy A

Wonderful professor! Her love for her job and interest in anthropology makes the class more enjoyable. It may be boring at times and the reading is long, its still an easy and interesting class to take. There are 3 main projects: observing a field site, conducting an interview, and final group presentation. Seems like a lot but pretty easy.

I have taken her for 2 classes and i loved her for both. She is a genuinely nice professor and remembers names. The class is easy to pass, only downside is a group project that you work on the whole semester. Requires an online textbook and attendance when there is in class activities. Def take her if you can over anyone else!

I love her. She loves teaching this course, is very understanding, gives good feedback, and grades on the effort you put into an assignment, doesn't have to be traditionally "correct", just show you're trying and you'll get 100. Quizzes are all pass/fail (you'll get a 100 just for completing it). She provides feedback on every assignment. She cares

Dr. Davis is an incredible professor, very open-minded so it's easy to participate and her class and very fun. Gives good study guides, one project that's guided step by step, and assignments are easy as long as you give them a little thought and show up to class. She's very easy to work with if you have any concerns, highly recommend!

Professor Davis is very caring and kind. She doesn't bore you with monotonous lectures but with interactive activities and discussions. Also, she is very lenient with grades, and as long as you put a reasonable amount of effort into the course, you should pass. I loved her class!!

Very kind easy going professor there is a lot of participation needed for in person class but helps you learn. Very easy going class is not mandatory to attend but its 2 points off for each in person assignment. she has a mid term and final the final this semester was optional for extra credit points.
