While her workload isn't easy, it's fair and you see yourself improving with it. And she's easy on the eyes and ears.

She explains the format of the ACT writing essays so clear that made me pass this ACT the fourth time. I will advise you to take her if you really want to pass the ACT or want to be educated.

Hey I agree with anyone who says this professor is hot! While I don't agree with how helpful she is I do agree with the workload of the class. One more thing to add, she grades harder than many English professors.

Sometimes she looks a little nervous but she is a very good teacher. If you ask for her help she'll do it.

I agree with all the other comments, She is a very hard teacher but I also think that many students are Just plain-old-lazy. Its true that the workload was a bunch but at the same time she is a good professor. Quite nervous at times but she's One of the best professors there.

Shes such a bad grader. She barely knows the class and gave half of the class failing grades. I don't know how i'm going to pass her class!

Dr. Koh is a wonderful professor. Be on time at her class, read the chapter assigned, do your homework, and you will get an A.

She focused alot on analysis of text. The coursework was not heavy, the amount was to be expected of average 101s. Her class, like others is if you want to learn you will. If you invest energy into learning outside of class you will succeed. This is college not HS. With HS, you're able to do work in class and pass. College is very different.

She is a really tough teacher. If you are having a hard time with the English language, I do not really recommend her. I've seen many in my class fail repeatedly. I don't know how other ENG101 teachers are, but she's really tough. Be ready to work your butt off. Invest a lot of time in this class. She made me write better. Got an A.

So many crybabies. I see my classmtes who can't write or are lazy and they expect easy As. I took this prof's class and didnt pass. I passed the next semester in another Eng101 but I learned more in Prof Koh's class than I did in the class I passed!

Maybe a little hard, but she will teach you how to write. Its not high school people, wake up, you are in college.

She has very HIGH standards and will make you work hard for that grade. Don't get me wrong, I do love a challenge, but she was never happy. She also needs to understand that for some of us English is our second language. Take her at your own risk.

LAGCC is full of lazy and unmotivated students. This is a 2-year college.She has a focus on preparing students for transferring into selective 4-year colleges. Believe me, if you aspire for a good school, they won't be anymore lenient.If it is guidance and knowledge you seek then at the end of this class you'll find yourself generously rewarded.

although she is tough and hard, it is an honor to take her class. She is very helpful. she is a genius. She graduated from NYU AND CORNELL. and one of the most influentian authors in United states. One of LaGuardia's gems. She is an amazing professor. Dr. Koh does have high-standards for her students as she should! She is always there to provide the guidance to help students excel and reach that level of competency. If you want/need to improve your writing and analytical skills I really suggest you take her ENG102 course. I got an A!

Great professor. Very descriptive feedback that helps you learn how to write better. Very interesting texts: Shakespeare, poetry, and much more. I highly recommend this class to students who want to become better writers. You just need to do her work, show up and hand in everything on time.

This professor will go above and beyond to make sure you are provided with the tools you need to succeed. She is very organized and always leads the class in very interesting discussions. Dr. Koh is one of LaGuardia's assets. She will be very tough on your essays, especially the final research paper. However, in the midst of her toughness, her intent really is to help. She gives great constructive criticisms. Furthermore, the course materials are very interesting. If you're planning to take her class, give maximum priority.

Prof. Koh really cares about her students and is very obviously passionate about both literature and teaching. If you are looking for a class where you can sit back and relax, this might not be it ... but if you are down to read and discuss literature in a supportive space, you will enjoy taking her class. I do not understand why Doctor Koh does not have more 5-star rating because she was an easygoing professor. She gives the right amount of work for a college student and gives amazing feedback and opportunity to fix your papers. I highly recommend her.

She is strict but fair. And funny and I can talk to her. I learned more in this class than any others. May be hard for people who are not used to college work, I see that in the class, some students who don't want to learn to think. Because she wants you to think. My friend recommended her. So far she is my favorite professor at Laguardia.

We read only a few stories and poems and I really liked some of them and also Prof koh's discussions. She was very interesting in class. She ask your opinion of the poem and stories, and she explains the themes, meanings, and analysis for writing essays.

Professor Koh is an amazing professor. She helped me a lot with my writing and critical thinking. I failed ENG201 2 times before, but I finally passed when I took her class. As others have said, she is one of Laguardia's best professors, many awards. I wish I could've taken more classes with her, but I am starting at City next semester

She is very direct and upfront with her expectations and feedback. Her passion for literature is obvious. Super cool and kind. I have a 4.0 GPA, but this is the first A that I feel I really learned something from

Prof.Koh is passionate about her subject, and I really enjoyed her classes and discussions about poetry and literature. She is a very unique professor! There was a lot of class discussion,and I feel I learned a lot from them.

To me, Professor Koh is a very special professor. I took her online course during the pandemic, and going to her class every week gave me purpose and really helped me through that difficult time. I saw her in person recently, and I told her that I still used her essay worksheets in my other classes in college. She's good!
