He's Awesome!
I took this class just for fun and wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprise with the professor he is a really good teacher and really cares about his students, as long as your good to him he's good to you.I recommend taking any of his classes.

If you want clarity don't take this course.
I saw marvelous A students drop his class out of frustration and exasperation just to save their GPA's.
Annoying English 102 became a platform primarily for his political view, especially durin the outbreak of the war in Iraq. Respect, please. If you hate the U.S., go teach in Europe...or Iraq. You won't have the level of freedom to mouth-off like you do over here. Our soldiers died for that right.
Not a real easy class, but if you need help just ask. He is always willing to help. I learned a lot from this class.
Good teacher, but limits himself due to students unwillingness to rise to a challenge. He is obviously liberal..like most prof. in college, but if you don't agree with him he doesn't penalize you for it... he may actually respect you more He could be a great teacher if he asked more of his students.

His methods are different, & he will express his views to a point he will not reveal what he actually thinks about certain things (confusing, yeah I know) however I respected him for that. He will challenge you, & push you to the point of thinking about dropping the class, DON'T, he EXPECTS improvement, do so and you'll pass with a new appreciati
Mr. Z. is an absolutely fantastic teacher. Interesting, informative, and helpful.
Oh my....that last comment. I have no doubt this guy checks his ratings himself and calls himself "fantastic". LAMER!!!
Oops. I was cut off. You probably hate him because you got a bad grade or something. Anyway, though, if you were treated unfairly, I respect you for filing a complaint.
He was the worst English Teacher I've ever had! He doesn't help and just pokes fun at hispanics and half of them don't know it! He thinks he's funny but it's right the troops fought for our freedom of speech and should take his ass to Europe or somewhere! were he can't say nothing like that!
at first i thought it was easy then he got a little more difficult but i learned a lot.
This guy is a nut case. He uses his classes to express his personal views. He says that our soldiers are not heroes. Ok, I would like to see his ass in the battle field. You will be disappointed if you take his class. And he thinks he is perfect; don't you dare mispell a word or anything like that because he will make fun of you.
I don't like the way he teaches but he tries to help.
He is very nice, intelligent and his class is very interesting. If you do your work on time, then you shouldnt listen to the comments below. Be there, on time and Come prepared. Just like class should be.
HOMEWORK EVERYDAY!!! really strict on grammar! i mean c'mon its English 086!
great teacher
grades your views and not your actual writing
If you want a challenge take this course. You will appreciate his teaching style.
I think he is not qualified to be a teacher at Morton College. He is a rude and arogant person. I will never refer him to anyone that I know that is taking english 101.
He does not really explain his homework assigment.
A great teacher, with a wonderful personality. His teaching style is very unique. Students that are not prepared to work hard and earn their grade should not take his class. He grades you according to the writing level you should be at for an English 100 class.
He's one of the best professors I have ever had. If you want that A, be prepared to work for it! I loved every single book he had our class read and he actually gets you Thinking& is very interested in your opinion.Don't believe all you read on here from other users.this guy knows his stuff& is very passionate about it.u just have to work for the A
Very condescending man. You get an idea right away about his politics ("screaming liberal") which is okay IF he didn't try to indoctrinate his students to his way of thinking which, by the way, has nothing at all to do with English 102. Comes across as "tolerant" but as the course progresses, you learn otherwise and it will affect your grade.
I took an english 86 class with him as the professor. It's easy if you keep you mouth shut, pay attention, and do your homework.By homework i mean reading you book and doing you daily journals. Not that hard!
Hard to understand sometimes. Also if you are not into Wall Street or know very little about politics, stay away. The class was okay at times but the homework was not ever explained.
He has a very unique way of teaching. He listens to your thoughts; he will want you to back up your points. He does make you think in a different way and notice things you didnt notice before. If you want an easy teacher don't get him. He is very critical in your homework so don't be surprised when he says something that ma hurt your feelings.
Worst teacher I have ever had. He's very rude, and not opinion to other opinions.
Horrible Professor. His comments are very discouraging and instead of wanting to help students he belittles them.
Stay away from this guy, you will do yourself a favor. He is not clear with his teachings and homework, it's hard to understand him. He won't give his students enough help. He is also a very rude guy.
He wasnt clear with what he wanted us to do. He poked fun of students, who mostly are hispanic. Over half the class failed this semester. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY.
He is not a cool teacher... I hated going to class
i wouldnt say he is rude or mean but he is very confusing and makes questions more complicated. he also grades hard....i just wouldn't recommend him because his expectations are way to high...
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
DO NOT TAKE HIM DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR PLEASE!!!!!
Anything you say in his class is wrong in his eyes. He makes you not want to raise your hand in class. Do not take his class. If you do....don't say I didn't warn you.
He is the best professor Iv'e had! He is very critical with grading, but if you do what is asked, you will get a good grade. He opens your mind. If you're looking for an easy A then he is not the teacher to take, but if you want to learn and become a better writer, I encourage you to take him. He is critical but that's what motivated me.
He was very difficult. His homework was very hard to understand, and he wouldn't explain it if you needed help.I wouldn't recommend him for anyone to be honest.
If you're looking for an easy A, he is not the teacher to take. However, if you're looking for a class that's challenging and rewarding, look no further. He has high expectations of his students. If you are willing to put in the time and effort, his class will not disappoint. Honestly, one of the best instructors Morton College has to offer.
Best instructor I've ever had. Everyone complaining just doesn't get it. He pushes you to THINK (probably why some at MC don't like him) but his classes still resonate with me today. I would take all of his classes all over again. Check out his book Finding The Moon In Sugar. Thank you again Karolis. You changed the way i view the world.
HORRIBLE TEACHER. NEVER EXPLAINED ANYTHING. ALWAYS GETTING OFF TOPIC. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE HIM. MORE THEN HALF HIS CLASS WAS FAILING. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND HIM TO MY WORST ENEMY HES THAT HORRIBLE
Very poor instructor. His class is hard! He doesn't help you and he's always off topic when you ask him a question. He goes around hoops and loops. Not an easy A class so anyone looking for an easy A stay away! Nothing you do for him is good enough! I hated going to his class but I had no choice! ADVICE stay away from his class! Do yourself a favor
Actually he is a very interesting teacher and the way he makes you thinks about things makes you change your perspective completely. Even though he is a tough grader he has to be one of the best teachers I've ever encountered
I would agree he does challenge his students to think outside the box and really learn something from this class. However, I found him to be somewhat rude and not very helpful. He came off a little arrogant(mind you I took his online class). There was probably a better way to encourage his students. I won't recommend this instructor.
He's very tough and if you don't go to class, he will treat you worse than those who show up everyday. His office hours aren't the best, but one positive thing is he makes you think critically. However, if you aren't good in English, I wouldn't advice you to take him.
Very complex, instructor explains in abstruse ways using many sophisticated and philosophical words. Very tentative to every like mistake and with many students not struggling has no time for others.
He's a PHENOMENAL instructor. Honestly, one of the best Morton College has to offer. His classes are tough, but he is trying to prepare students for the future. He treats students as an instructor would at a University. After receiving my grades, I knew I had earned them. One of the few classes I have taken that truly challenged me academically.
I dropped this class after the first week, for being a 101 class I was expecting something not handed to me but just a little easier. The way he talked was to much and the way he expected us to think, just not for me.
He helped me a lot. He is a tough grader and he makes you think and see things from a different perspective. Thanks to him I did well in eng 101.
Mr. Z is a hard professor and sometimes says things that really make you think. If you pay attention, take notes, and ask for help you will succeed in the class. Syllabus is on schedule and he never misses class. Really funny and intelligent. Plus no text book needed!
Hardest teacher I've ever had. Nothing I do is right, he is honestly the toughest grader ever!! He'll make you over analyze something & expect you to be perfect. His class is interesting, but his assignments are TOO TOUGH. & I love English, but after taking this class I feel like an imbecile. DON'T TAKE HIM. Save yourself
Professor Z is a tought Instructor, but he will challenge you to think and write like a college student should. He is not an easy A, but if you apply yourself and do the work you will not only pass, bu aquire new ways of thinking and writting. Awesome Teacher!!!
The lectures this instructor offers at first may seem hard, you may want to give up. I advise you not to. Listen to his comments and improve that area. Go to ILC if you have any trouble. His class is worth it. You will benefit from each class meeting.
If you want a teacher that's going to push you to become a better writer than Mr. Z is your teacher. He's not like other instructors at Morton College that will just give you an easy A for turning in anything, he will make you work for it. Which is possibly why some students are not very fond of him.
He's very strict in grading and will make you feel extremely stupid. I DO NOT recommend taking him. Highest grade you could expect is a 70%. Save yourself time and money and avoid this teacher.
First of before anything is that i had this class online. He is a tougher teacher and that is true but in a way of fair toughness is his problem. Usually If something is wrong he will complain to you than helping. If you are not the strongest in English then I would advise taking a different teacher. Side with his views and you will do good.
He is a tough grader but if you attend class and actually listen to what he says you'll know exactly what he wants from you. Makes you think out of the box a lot. Gives you good feedback on your essays for the rewrites. Got a B in the class! (I'm not a big ENGLISH person btw)
Oh no... Don't take him! Doesn't even give the student a chance, automatically shuts you down.
He is a hard R if you know what i mean
Teacher bragged about how he wrote a book worked for a news web, and THAT made him a tough grader. At the beginning of the semester there were 30+ people and at the last week, there were only 5. He is very strict and expects you to write like a professional journalist. Do not take his class unless you are up for a challenge.
Good teacher but expects a lot from a starting english class at a community college
Professor Z not only creates a challenge to the new English 101 student but also delivers in content for critical analysis and english mastery. The course centers on self-growth by determining one's flaws. You do not want to miss lecture for his class!
Horrible, Inconsistant in what he wanted, and when you did deliver what he asked for he would tear it apart piece by piece. Only one kid got a B in his class most ended up dropping.
This guy is one of the few professors at Morton worth taking. People complain about the level of difficulty, but he actually teaches at a college level, not at the little league t-ball level most profs at Morton do. Not only did I learn so much from him about writing, but I felt like I grew as a person.
He has a unique way to teach the class. Make sure you take notes and read assignments instructions carefully. He might come across as intimidating but if you do research and ask the right questions he will go beyond to help you succeed. Only take this class if you are up for the challenge, about 75% of the class drops by the end of the semester.
Mr. Zukauskas will help you to develop a strong sense of ethos and logos. He is arguably the best teacher at Morton College because he offers a lot more than just knowledge on how to write a good paper. However, you will be challenged throughout the semester. Be prepared to read extensively in order to make the most out of your papers.
Mr. Zukauskas is a good professor . He is very enthusiastic in his lectures.
Even though he may have given me a "D" in the class, he's still a great teacher who teaches you in depth writing and how to create a strong essay. He's tough but he's like that because he believes that everyone has that potential to be great problem solvers.
Mr. Z its an awesome teacher He wants all the students to have the ability to write research essays at the end of the semester He gives a paper with all the work for the semester the first day I loved going to his class never missed a day Very accessible at office hours for help just ask Received a C because I handed late work I regret being late
There's no doubt that he is a extremely hard grader. But I don't regret taking his class. He wont just let you get away with a half decent paper. He will make you work for your grade and think. I took his class online. If you need to speak to him, he gives you many resources to get a hold of him. Although it was a hard class, I would recommend it.
This is the toughest instructor in Morton!... since he expected the class to work to pass. I would have gotten a D but in the end I explained to him some problems I was having at home and he understood. Not sure what he wants in the papers, it's like your answers are never correct. But he wants u to think which is great.
I've taken Mr. Z twice and although he is a decent lecturer, his assignments are unclear. What annoyed me the most was that he graded me very harshly; I never understood his comments. Other students in the class (which you could say were struggling) were graded sometimes better than I. Overall, I wouldn't take him again.
My neighbor took his Eng class and asked for help. I have taught writing for years. This man has no idea what he's doing. He doesn't teach his students to structure arguments. His instructions are vague and rambling. His "comments" are refutations of positions that he personally disagrees with. He literally doesn't know what a thesis statement is.
Just steer clear, if you can. Hell grade you based on his opinion and make you work harder if youre a better than average student.
Horrible ! That should sum up the kind of professor he is. He is always so unclear on how the assignments are suppose to be. Super hard grader! Literally expects you to know how to write like a professional journalist. So if you are not a professional journalist I suggest not taking his class! I didn't know a professor like him even existed.
For as long as I can remember English class has never been hard for me but this professor would always have me confused during class. He does not give good instructions and if he doesnt like your essay you can easily tell by his unnecessary comments on it .
We read "The Book of My Lives" and he talks about it in class (for more than half the semester). Toward the end of the semester he gave us like 5 essays to do and turn in. You get a bad grade if you don't write how he wants you to write, but he doesn't tell you how he wants you to write. He gives feedback, but doesn't tell you how you can improve.
Very gifted professor. Makes you think both inside and outside the box. Very helpful and understanding. I would take this class again and I caN recommend a very thought provoking class
He is an amazing lecturer and he definitely wants you to look deeper into the meaning of the piece. He teaches the Book of my Lives so beautifully. Read the book cause he does have little pop quizzes. HARSH GRADER, if you're not confident in your own writing don't take him. Always unclear on what he really wants and cares a lot about grammar.
He is a great professor, will keep your attention throughout the class. He could be a little confusing sometimes. He is a very harsh grader, definitely dont recommend if you think your essays are not good. Be ready to read the book of my lives!
This was probably the hardest English class I have ever taken. He is such a tough grader, and makes you feel bad about your writing, even when you are not that terrible. I would definitely not take his class again, it is way too stressful. Save yourself and pick a different teacher.
Though his lectures are quite interesting, his lack in explaining what he wants when writing essays makes it extremely hard to get a good grade. You need to talk with him to get a clear picture of what he wants. I enjoyed him, but I do enjoy to be challenged (its what helps us learn).
The only C I have ever received. Took ENG 102 with an amazing professor and got an A! The professor isnt well at explaining what he looks for in a paper. Although, he does make you think outside the book and has an interesting thought process. I just dont believe he is good at teaching.
This is one of the worst English teachers Ive ever had. He is a really harsh grader and makes you feel bad about your essays even when its not that bad. And he does not give you a clear picture on how you can improve your essays. He does make you think outside of the box in the lectures but majority of your grade is based on essays.
THE WORST! He is one of the worst English teachers I have ever had. Your essays are based on one book you will read the first half of the semester and he will only grade you on a few essays the second half. He is a tough grader and makes you feel bad about your essays and isnt clear on what he expects. SAVE YOUR TIME & MONEY!
You will be reading The Book Of Our Lives And the whole entire semester will be spent taking about it and writing about it. Its a good book and makes you think differently but, he wants you to think like the author and write like one. He will make you feel bad about your writing even if its not bad. You can tell by the unnecessary comments.
He'll make you work for it, but its worth it.
Very difficult grader. So far I have struggled greatly with getting good grades on papers. He is a very intelligent professor with very great lectures which makes it difficult to know what he wants in a paper. That is the biggest challenge youll face and if you dont think youre great at writing papers this class isnt for you.
Mr. Z is one of the best teachers in the school. Many of the students that say he is a tough grader and doesnt explain what he wants in Essays, obviously dont read the comments he puts on every essay. Most of the essays are not even on The Book Of My Lives. That book is an example of how a great argument is written by getting inside your head.
He's the kind of teacher who grades really hard but never has a clear rubric, and offers basically no extra credit. He's incredibly condescending as well. I genuinely got anxious opening my essays to read his comments. The only good point was that he replies back to your questions fast and at least in that case, he gives clear answers.
Just read his feedback and youll do great. Hes very clear on what he expects of you. Great, dedicated teacher!
Professor Zukauskas was my guide through Eng 102. His tough grading style definitely put fire under my butt to make me work for my grade. I felt like his feed back could have been less harsh, but he was available for office hours outside of class for additional help. No extra credit was given but assignments were given plenty of time until due.
The best professor at MC by far. He's a tough grader but he makes you THINK deeply and pushes you to avoid shallow thinking. He literally changed the way I think forever. The way to pass this class is to prepare yourself to think logically and critically, and of course, FOLLOW the syllabus! This class will prepare you for future classes.
Very good teacher. He teaches you how to write really good research papers that force you to get better. He doesn' give out much homework but he give out essays to write throughout the semester. Understand that if you want an A, go talk to him out of class and ask for help. He is a very tough grader because he keeps it vague on what he clearlywants
Professor Zukauskas is a tough grader. His grading scale is not clear. If you don't think like him in your papers he will fail the assignment. I chose to drop him. I unfortunately regret taking him.
His feedback is so confusing and offers no support. I agree with if you dont think like him youre work is not worth much. I have not enjoyed learning about film one bit. If this is not your field of study DONT TAKE THIS COURSE.
He is a very cool guy, just a very tough grader. He isn't clear with his feedback and doesn't help you truly understand what you need to fix. Also with this class being virtual, I feel like I learned nothing & the topics we wrote about were pointless and not great prompts that did not help us succeed. This class stressed me out very much as well.
Very tough grader. Gives a lot of assignments with questions that are extremely poorly worded. His feedback and assignment/essay instructions are VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY Vague. Gives a poor grade because you don't write how he wants you to write. Even if you're good at writing and don't write the way he wants you to write, you will get a bad grade.
Do yourself a favor and never take his class. His directions? Vague. His feedback? doesn't help. Please save your money and DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He's such a tough grader.
Let me say this. He will teach you how to properly format your ideas. He is purposely vague because it promotes thinking critically and on your own. Has definitely made me a better writer and properly prepared me for future writing work. Tough but you come out a truly better learner.
He tries to look all smart and stuff but what he teaches isn't even English, it's weird off-topic thoughts that sound like my brain at 2 am. What he teaches is understandable but it's just unrelated opinions. It wasn't helping me to get better at reading or writing. He has this "I'm better than all of u, and ur wrong" attitude. Dropped the class
Not helpful when it comes to emailing him because all his feedback is always VERY vague. As a student that always succeeds in school I nearly failed because if your work is not how he wants it he will fail you. You go to this film class with zero information about film but he expects you to understand film the same way he does. Nearly imposible.
I wish i would have listening when someone told me not to take this teacher lol. His grading method is very strict wether you are below college level or not. I took 088 and someone I knew took his 101, they were the exact same assignments. His grading method is unfair and very strict.
Imagine you have a 600-word essay due today and he doesn't give you any information about the essay until TODAY. The man did not teach us nothing about writing. Nothing about thesis statements, structures, bibliographies, MLA formatting, etc. The man lectures sucked. He didn't teach nothing about anything. The whole experience was HORRIBLE.
One of the worst teachers I've ever had. Tries to act like the smartest person alive but his lectures sound like shower thoughts. Makes you buy his poorly written book and gives you bad grades for not understanding exactly what the author is saying (he's the author) if you don't think exactly like him, do yourself a favor and never take this class
English is my best subject but every skill I learned was useless the moment I chose this class. He claimed to be challenging students by making them think but was just not satisfied when students had their own ways of interpreting ideas. I started not wanting to submit work as I knew he was going to trash talk my work. Was too depressed for this.
The class revolves around reading from your textbook, watching films and taking quizzes online. To succeed, watch the films and read the textbook before doing quizzes. I recommend to read the textbook and write notes and definitions on concepts you learned. There are two big papers that have you watch 3 films by the same filmmaker.
Horrible. Just horrible. Took his class bc he was the only open online class available.Friends who have taken his class advised me against taking his class but I wanted to get English out the way. Ended up wasting my time taking this class. He is the type of teacher that discourages you instead of encouraging.
He tries to act like a genius by talking about stuff that barely makes any sense but he's not onto something, it's more like he's on something. Grading criteria? If he reads it and likes it. If you want to pass you're going to need the power of God, anime, and hopes and dreams, even if it's lower-than-college-level. Do not take his class.
He's okay. I personally wouldn't take his class. He doesn't give good feedback and responds with questions instead. Doesn't help at all with essays. Its his personal preference rather than what its actually needed. Me and other students agreed that he is a super hard grader, and isn't fair with his grades. Wouldn't take his class again.
Professor Zukauskas is a challenging but rewarding teacher. His lectures are insightful, but grading can be tough if you don't understand his exact expectations. unstuck AI and the class textbook are helpful study tools to prepare for his assignments.
Mr. Zukauskas was a horrible teacher. During his “lectures” he would never really lecture us he would just talk about unimportant stuff to make himself sound so smart and wise. He would assign us many assignments weekly and treated his class like the only one we were taking, very harsh grader. Very rude as well, always made us feel belittled.
I am currently taking his course, and all these reviews are pretty much accurate save your money dont take his course!!
Essay feedback was unhelpful, unfair grader, lectures unhelpful and boring, were not relevant to material being graded on
This class was a waste of time. The professor is condescending and his feedback feels more like insults than help. Quoting him “good luck passing the course”. I did…anywaysss. He's obsessed with a useless textbook. Lectures are mind-numbingly boring. If you can take literally any other class, do it. You'll thank yourself later. Movies were good tho
If you get this professor, just drop the class; don't waste your time. He spent the first half of the semester explaining to us why a littering sign was in a park and why a stop sign was red. You ask for feedback on essays to improve them, then you do what he recommends, and he still will give you a bad grade—quoted the bible through email to me.
Professor Karolis Žukauskas was a terrible teacher. His lectures were useless and often off-topic, like explaining why a stop sign is red or why there's a littering sign in a park. His feedback made no sense and was hard to follow. He also made us read a book he wrote, which felt more like self-promotion than real learning.
His feedback after submissions were more of insults than constructive criticism. If you get him as a professor be prepared to try your hardest and still not be enough. It's not just me either, look at his reviews. Worst professor I've had honestly, it's a shame too, I always have loved English class.
For your sanity do not take Eng 101 from this professor. All assignments in the first half of the semester are worth nothing. He only grades the essays and the final. I would visit his office hours to see what he was looking for in the essays and I'd still fail his essays. It's true his feedback are not constructive criticism but rather insults.
Grading system is irrational, having large midterms and writing assignments worth more than the entirety of quizzes and general homework assignments. Feedback is good but slightly condescending, feeling as if he wants YOU to do it HIS way for movies that are made for your interpretation. Overall, difficult class as Karolis is difficult to please.
Professor was one of the worst teachers I have ever had the displeasure of knowing. His critiques were condescending and rude, not at all helpful nor willing to help. He acts as if he knows everything and will deduct points if your interpretation is not what he wanted. Overall terrible class, would not recommend.
This was one of the worst classes that I've taken of and overall a terrible terrible grader. He's very hard to understand, his critique and feedback is awfully rude and very condescending. I can see why he has a very low rating and I should've listened in the first place before taking this course.
I had an amazing experience in English 101 with Professor Zukauskas. His engaging, easy-to-follow teaching makes challenging concepts approachable. He encourages creativity and critical thinking, gives clear, motivating feedback, and creates a supportive environment where students feel confident participating. Highly recommended!
