Really easy grader if you actually do the requirements on the essays. Have to write 6, 1000 word essays. Sometimes not very clear, but a fun teacher.
Great class. Took it online in the summer and it was incredibly easy. She grades essays easy and as long as you do the work you can earn an A.
GREAT TEACHER I RECOMEND HER
She is fun, lectures arent so boring, trys to make the class laugh every now and then. I liked her. Her essays arent very hard, just read the couple pages that she asks u to read and you will be fine. Not hard to get a good grade in this class from her..
she's very into her subject, and explains things very clearly. Her grading is based completely on what she has taught- if you don't pay attention, you will get bad grades. Very simple. I'm not a huge fan of english, but the class is bearable because she can make the class laugh and keep us focused on the task at hand. it's not all boring grammar and punctuation. I recommend her class. :)

follow directions and you'll pass easily. 5 essays 1000 words each. pretty easy, really knows her stuff, and she has a lot of extra credit opportunities.
She is a great teacher. She gives you clues to her quizes before she passes them out. The five papers due are not hard if you go to class. Do the reading and you will have no probelms in her class.
Good teacher, fun class. Her explanation is very clear, and the essays are not hard. Six quizzes and five essays for the entire quarter. Recommend her!
Spend a couple of hours learning proper MLA notation right at start of course, and you will do fine in this class. if you don't, you will constantly lose points until you can annotate correctly. she responds to e-mails fast and will clarify anything unclear in the text.
I took the class online and its been the easiest of my online classes. She responds to email questions quickly and returns graded essays with the week. I would recommend her to anyone.
She is a WONDERFUL teacher. She knows what she is teaching and is very good at explaining the things we need to do to recieve an A in the class. There are 5 papers, and 10 grammar quizes. Just show up to class everyday, and listen to what she has to say. She is very informative on all topics.
Her lectures were so boring. take online classes with her because she talks****s in the class.
Very nice teacher. She wants you to do good in her class and goes out of her way to make sure that you get a good grade in her class. If you want a B or higher I would take her. You will learn something in her class. Her lectures can be boring sometimes and she takes attendence but you hardly use the book.
Great online class. She was helpful and graded paper pretty quickly. She was not a hard grader and you can easily get A's on all your papers. There is a moderate amount of class work, but nothing terribly difficult. If you need English 201 take this class!
Very helpful and insightful. Good teacher, uses textbook a lot and only allows 9 days to be missed. Very thoughtful and willing to help.
She's a really sweet lady, but i feel like a lot of the time she used in class was spent talking about her personal life.. she ALWAYS talks about her sons and husband who have medical issues and rock climbing. when she's actually talking about the material, she's helpful and clear. not too hard of a grader. i found it frusterating at times though.
Karrin is a very smart and caring teacher, this class is definably time consuming with numerous drafts and book work, but she is flexible and will extend due dates.. Highly recommend for English 270.
Average class with more assignments than other ENG201 classes. But she is an EASY grader who will work with you to extend deadlines. Feedback is slow and minimal but she is always positive and nice. Felt very self-directed at times with little interaction. Just keep up, peer edit and follow the assignment instructions carefully to get a good grade
Took as all online class. Really nice. A lot of assignments, But they are just the breakdown that you would need to do to complete bigger assignments. Easy grader, and if you talk to her, REALLY flexible with due dates. I turned in almost everything late and got a good grade. Really helpful and works with you. Directions can be cluttered.
this teacher is not easy. but if u work hard, u will get a good grade. she doesnt take attendance. so u can feel free to be late or absent. but generally to be an A student, good attendance so that u will keep up ur work.
This professor is so disorganized, and consistently blames it on not getting her class until right before the beginning of the quarter. Her grading is unfair, and she doesn't seem interested in helping the student understand. WOUlD NOT RECOMMEND!!!
I disagree with the previous comment dated 11/22/08. Mrs. Peterson only had one major confusing assignment, which she clarified days prior to it being due. She is extremely helpful if you ask for it. She has a high work load, but grades very fairly. I followed criteria and got a 99.9% I recommend this class.
Very colorful background: use to be in the military, former lawyer, mountain climber, mother. Homework load is average but you have to put effort into it. She really cares about you and your grade and, if you have a special reason like I did, she will allow late work and redos. Helps you learn how to write better papers and stuff.
Really easy class, pretty much you do case studys with a group...about 15 of them...she says it should take you 30 minutes each but it takes a good hour or so not to hard.you do have a 20 page report due at the end but its really easy! no test only a final which is open book and notes! she posts the questions for the final only with the answers hah
I had online class.
This class is all about writing essays. Professor Peterson is very helpful, she goes over the essays in class, even helps you start your research questions, sometimes outlines. However, you need to go to class. She doesn't like it when people don't put in the work, so you will have to. But if you do put in effort, she is very workable with you.
Karrin is extremely understanding. If you can't make a due date, talk to her and she'll make exceptions. I took a hybrid course and there was usually a assignment due each night (except weekends). The only major assignment was the completion report- just follow the EXACT format from the book. Do the work, and you'll do fine.
Awesome teacher! Definately my favorite since attending BCC. She is very understanding and gives extensions only if its not the day before a due date. She's very flexible, she explains grading and her expectations well. There are no surprises. She's easy to get along with, and has a heart of gold.
She is very understanding and I didn't think she was that harsh of a grader. I took her class online and usually, classes online don't work well with me, but I received a decent grade.
I really like her! she is funny, kind and a good teacher. I was very afraid of taking ENGL 201 before, but I am really confident now. she is willing to answer to any questions in detail. if you follow her guidance and work hard(because research paper requir some efforts anyway regardless of which instructor you have, you will get good grade!
My first impression was when she called everyone up to read and discuss rough drafts, a lot of the time I had to point out where everything when she said it was missing. All she had to do is read it. Her feedback for writing better is really unhelpful. My other English teachers at BC were so much better. The whole time I felt I was in high school!
She's nice and always ready to answer students' questions. Her lecture is quite helpful but not total. She makes students feel like the essays are easy, but then nobody can get high grade. Shes totally a hard grader. Be careful
Online class is a disaster. The ways her syllabus is set is really confusing and plenty of errors. She gives 5 minutes reading your essay. Good person, but her ONLINE teaching is not effective. She does has a lot to learn from her students. She does not devote the time necessary to read your essay. Very bad ONLINE.
I took the online class. The class format was pretty easy to understand. The book worked really well to help me learn to write but U have to read it. Grading comments helped me improve. She was very understanding about problems with my schedule.
I feel like my writing skills improved tremendously. I had a bad experience with my 101 teacher, but Ms. Pete was helpful and nice. But you've got to attend class and listen, and you can get a good grade.
Honestly I hate English classes...but she made it less painful because she was interesting. She is very nice. She always said the difference between a C and B is effort, and the difference between an A and B is inherent ability. Well I didn't try too hard, I put the minimum effort possible because I hate writing papers... But I got an A. I think she just says that to scare people, but she's actually not too difficult, and if you out a little time in you'll definitely learn and retain the info!
This class is a joke. She doesnt know how to teach and what to talk about. She says that she was a lawyer for 10 years, navy officer for 20 years, she has two kids, and she is 45...how is that possible? She has a very wierd stare. She is a little scary. She doesnt teach well and expects too much. Dont take her. VERY BORING!
Karrin is great, she is very laid back and understanding. if you have a problem she is more than willing and able to help you solve that problem or work around it. I hope I have as good an experience with my future BC instructors.
I took Karrin's ENGL 101 online. Karrin is extremely fair and understands the additional demands of working while taking classes. Do the grammar, peer edit and put out honest work and you'll enjoy the class. She responds to e-mail same day and monitors her message board for updates. Take Karrin's class and you will be a better writer.
she is unfair and inconsiderate... she wont accept anything other than an emailed document and will not grade papers if she thinks you do them on time...
Karrin seemed sort of scattered with her thoughts most of the time and her class had an impromptu feeling. We never knew exactly what was due when. Karrin was extremly flexible when it came to due dates which helped because the groups were terrible. Many people didnt pull their weight. Overall the class was OK but happy its over.
I found most of the class lectures overly thorough. Even so, Karin is a very animated person and the class was never boring. She is very willing to answer questions and offer help if you ask after class. There is a ton of writing to do outside of class so if you need extra help or have a problem, let her know. She is very understanding.
I like Karrin!! She makes this 200+ English course not stressful at all. There will be lots of group work, so be sure to find some "good" groupmates. Turst me, that will really help you get good grade. You do have a 20 pages report due at the end, but it's easy;because you will spend at least half the quarter working on it.
This class requires a lot of writing and computer use. She states that this class is the hardest English class offered at BC, but as long as you try your best, attend class, and ask for help when needed, you'll get a decent grade.
Karrin is truly a great professor. She cares about her students so much. I recalled the campus was closed for 3days because of the snow, and we have the 20 pages report due. I was worrying about how can I get it done. Thanks to Karrin, she posted all the lecture notes and examples on MyBC, which is very helpful on witting my report! Great Professor!
When i took this class i was also at the same time preparing for my personal statement to UW. She made my ps looks so beautiful and she helped me prepare for the WSA to UW Business School. Karrin is very passionate about english and I love every single of her class. She is truly amazing... I deeply recommend her to everyone!!!
Karrinn is a great teacher. She truly cares about you and wants you to succeed. If she feels like the class is not ready for the next paper, she will slow the class down and review the class's weak points. She's also really funny. Take her, you won't regret it. if English is not your strongest subject, she will be happy to help you.
I took her class in online. She is really care about grammar. I wanted to talk with her in person, so I emailed her, but she didn't want to make a time for me. Her grade style is unfair. If you are international student, don't take this class.
Don't take her. that's all I can say. She is really hard. There is lot of reading. But her class was so hard that I dropped the class. I have a 3.9 GPA, so I put effort into my classes. but her class was not worth my effort. In the beginning of the class, she said that not many can get A in her class.
Took her online class. Very easy. All you need to do is follow the examples in the textbook (which she tells you to do) very closely, and you'll get at least a B every time. Read the textbook, follow the examples, follow instructions, and you'll do just fine.
I took her online ENG 235 class. It was pretty easy. The instructor responds to your questions, giving you help when you need it. Her class runs at a moderate pace: You are not overworked, but not underworked either. If you read the chapters in the textbook assigned, and follow the examples VERY closely, you'll pass with an easy A.
Took 201 online. Very manageable workload. Average 2 weeks for each essay. Assignments due on Sunday night gives working students much needed weekends to complete assignments.
one of the most time-consuming but worthwhile courses I have ever taken. I had nightmares about that recommendation report for weeks, but it wasn't so bad when I actually got into it. She is very laid back and relaxed, will extend deadlines if you email her ahead of time. Funny and interesting. I am a much better writer having taken her course.
This was an online class with very little direction. Karrin was easy to contact for clarification, but I received very little feedback. The textbook usage is extremely high, but as long as you follow the examples in the book with proper grammar, you will get an easy B. With effort, you will receive an A.
She has sense of humor. Do all the assignments and if she sees you put the effort, she'll really help you. She's not a tough grader, but don't try to BS her. You may want to read the instructions to the assignments before hand and think about them, cause they aren't all crystal. Email her any questions you have and she'll reply right away. Helpful.
*HYBRID COURSE* Quirky and slightly morbid sense of humor. Very personable, generally cheerful, and willing to work with her students. The class is a challenge, and with her help I did pretty good.
Took this as hybrid course. A wonderful teacher, learned a lot from her & assisted me when I needed help. I progressed gradually from taking her class. She is kind of a hard grader with grammar & punctuation but overall is easy. She breaks it down for you so that you don't think it's that complex. Don't ever hestiate to ask her questions!
She is a very understanding person and helped me when I got a concussion and wasn't able to do some of the assignments on time. However, this class taught me more about English ivy than it did about actual writing. Seriously, over 30 pages about English ivy. Half the quarter...
She really cares about her students, is engaged and helps wherever she can.
Dr. Peterson is a phenomenal instructor. I had her for ENGL 101 during winter quarter 2014, and thoroughly enjoyed her. She genuinely cares and helped me out tremendously. She is passionate and truly loves helping students succeed. I learned so much from her. Highly recommend taking her!
Dr. Peterson is probably the best writing instructor BC has. If you are a serious student and willing to work hard TAKE her class - highly recommended. Very inspiring, great motivator, challenge you for critical thinking. Read syllabus CAREFULLY! Slackers will fail period. If you are looking for an easy class, keep looking. Read the textbook a lot!
She is a really great teacher and super hilarious. Professor Peterson really cares about her students and it shows. You will learn very valuable things from her!
Karrin is a great professor! She is very funny and talks about her personal life a lot which is fun! She wants her students to be successful, she wants the best from them. She helps a lot! Just do what she wants you to do and you will get an A!
Karrin Peterson is a good teacher. She is there when students have questions and she takes time for students who need help. We can really see that she loves teaching and what she is doing in class.
I hate it. The book we bought for the class is absolutely amazing on its own, but the assignments we are given seem more like helping the other department's website to improve. Good that I am getting a tech degree, otherwise this class would be even more confusing. Be prepared to do your own research when studying: assignments are very vague.
Professor Peterson was my instructor for ENGL 235 Technical Writing. She offered a lot of opportunities for students to submit rough drafts and get feedback (from her and from other students) before submitting a final product for grading. Easy extra credit points are available. She was great about responding to students' questions.
I took Peterson's hybrid class in Fall 2014 and LOVED it. She offers A LOT of opportunities to improve your grade (extra credit). I am currently in her 201 class, which is pretty great too. She gave points for attendance, but going to class isn't necessary to understand the material, BUT go to class because she is hilarious. Sometimes disorganized.
I took both her 101 and 201 hybrid classes. She doesn't teach an awful lot, but her expectations are straightforward. You can tell she really cares about her students, but she can be disorganized. You don't really need to go to class every day. Sometimes you feel like you're wasting time, i.e., we've spent about 4 weeks on an evaluation essay.
The first few weeks was a bit hard, I think everyone just have to figure out the right schedule so they don't feel rushed. Participation is a must when it comes to proofreading. Overall assignments were pretty clear, her lectures are somewhat of a walkthrough of what she wants to see from you. Follow her notes and you be good!
Prof. Pete seriously rocks. She is not an easy teacher, and she makes you work for it. But her inspirational attitude is infectious, and she really loves what she does. She gives GREAT feedback on your work, and made an effort to spend one-on-one time with each student for critiquing and answering questions. I would definitely take her again!
Honestly, really amazing teacher that was always there to help students and find ways for those who weren't doing so well to pass. She understands if somethings going on and you wont be there for class and if you haven't finished something yet, then go home and finish it. Just a great professor
She is great and genuinely cares about you. I was going through a tough time, and she talked to me and even took me to the counselor. I'm very grateful that she was so understanding. If you try your best and ask for help, you'll do fine in this class! Couple essays to do in the beginning but towards the end it's more chill.
You need the book to pass this class. She doesn't teach you how to write, but how to format. Online course had assignments due once a week. I made the mistake of leaving big papers to the last minute, but still did well because she only reads the beginning and then looks at formatting. Just one long paper; pretty standard.
Many essays but she clearly goes over what she expects and lets you retake most essays. Not alot of reading, mostly just articles. She made class fun and i would take her class again.
Very clear expectations for assignments, group projects are tough to coordinate for online only class. Very fair grader and gives you lots of good feedback and is very helpful and responsive.
I took the business focused class and she was ok , I am a running start student and I felt like it was a step down from what I was learning in high school, I didn't really learn new literature, good info on formal formatting, the essay topics where fun, the essays were not to long, she grades easily, lets you we-write for better grade, over all ok.
Lots of reading and writing, so don't procrastinate. Quizzes are easy, but assignments are very involved. Grading was straightforward and she gives good feedback. She's fair and willing to discuss grades.
Ms. Peterson is a great professor. I took her for English 101 as a Running Start student, and this class helped me with my writing more than any of my high school classes. She is really helpful at making your essays and writings better, and gives great feedback. There might be a lot of essays, but her help and clear criteria make it easy.
Good teacher overall, my writing improved a lot in her class because she really understands the subject and how to get her point across so everyone understands it. Be prepared for random 20 minute off topic stories on occasion. She let our class choose how many essays we wanted to write as long as we wrote a certain number of words. Open topics.
Prof. Peterson taught many writing techniques to improve writing skills. The class atmosphere is good and she is friendly to every student in the class regardless of their background, religion, race, and ability. I would recommend taking the class with her. You will be fine if you do good research and follow her guidelines from the class lecture.
She is an AMAZING teacher, i would highly recommend taking her english 101-business focus. Clear criteria, wants the kid to succeed, and is very flexible with the due dates to help the class as much as possible.
Amazing caring professor.
AMAZING. I would recommend you to take her eng101- business focus class
She is the best, She gives away tonnes of extra credit. and she is nice too
I admire that she cares about her student's wellbeing. If you are someone who is struggling in with a situation outside of school or in general, she'll allow you extended time to turn things in if you talk to her. She does take attendance for participation points each week but if you have a valid reason for being gone, she'll excuse you.
Karrin is a really understanding professor. I was expecting this online course to be difficult due to lack of in person communication, but as long as you periodically check canvas & look at when assignments are due, you'll be fine. There were a lot of readings &essays, be prepared to write at least 10+ pages. She is forgiving & allows redos.
She was an amazing professor. Very kind and thoughtful. She provided many opportunities to improve on grade. She believes in growth mindset mentality, so as long as you give your best shot even trying, she grades very generously. I didn't need the text much I just borrowed it from the library couple of days.
Karrin has helped me improve my writing substantially throughout this class. I had no difficulty completing each assignment even with the concentrated summer quarter. On major writing assignments she grades once then allows you to fix your errors and resubmit. She is a growth mindset professor so she is almost always available to provide feedback.
Karrin is awesome! She has a growth-mindset when teaching and gives you every opportunity to do well in her class! I wish more professors were like her
She is one of the best professors at BC. Her style of growth mindset teaching is inspirational and encourages students to be more hardworking.
Really great professor. She obviously cares a lot about her students and values student feedback for making the course better. The writing assignments take a lot of time every week, but she has a very straightforward rubric. She also always gives you an opportunity to fix your assignments for a re-grade if you do poorly the first time.
Great professor! I took her English class online and it was extremely informative and enjoyable. She is a growth mindset teacher, and gives good feedback and opportunities to fix your grades.
she cares, and want you to pass.
She is the best. I loved her because she is such an amazing soul, willing to go the extra mile to help you. In her class its more about effort than grades, and that i think is amazing!
Karrin Peterson is a great professor. If you have a chance to have her as a professor i highly recommend it! She is very open with herself and things that she has been through and makes it clear she is here for us not anything else. Professor Peterson is also very easy to talk to with any problems you have and is very understanding!
Karrin Peterson is a great English teacher! I did a total of 4 papers in the quarter, and each one was very interesting. She is an amazing teacher who lets students rewrite their papers (as part of the growth mindset). Lectures are usually class discussions. Being productive in class less work to do outside of class.
Karrin is the best teacher Ive ever had at Bellevue College!
Karrin Peterson is a tough grader who is unorganized. Her directions can be very confusing and unclear. You turn an assignment according to the rubric and she grades it off of another rubric in her head. But, there are chances to re-do many of the assignments.
Professor Peterson is the best humanities-based professor I have ever had. She is caring and has made it very clear from the start that she wants us to succeed. With corona, I had some difficulties with the internet and she was super accommodating to that. She is available via canvas inbox and took time to work 1-1 with me on my essay revisions.
Professor Peterson is really easy to reach. You can create an appointment when you need feedback. She allows for revisions on almost all assignments, meaning if you put in the time you will get an A. She is also very good at explaining the criteria for the assignment while allowing you to use your own style/be creative.
I loved taking Professor Peterson's course. It has been the best English class I have ever taken. She genuinely cares about you and wants you to do your best. In this class, we were given second chances to improve our work which I really liked. As for reaching her, it is super easy. You can either email her or schedule a zoom call. I recommend her!
I would not take a class from this professor again, only because I found Professor Peterson to be very disorganized and unclear with assignments. It's ironic because the course she was teaching, focused on how to write clear instructions. Overall, the assignments were very time-consuming and the professor was a tedious grader.
There is 1 main assignment per week. You can redo things to improve score (to full credit). Point deductions are pretty big; you can lose 30% for a small detail...I think the idea is that the deduction is severe enough to force you to make a correction and learn something. HW isn't hard, just time consuming as is the case with all ENGL courses.
I took her for technical writing and ended my quarter with a 94%. Her feedback is an absolute joke and she clearly didn't read the full papers she was assigning before grading them. Expect 2-4 soul extracting papers a week with repetitive, mind-bogglingly boring topics. This class was not worth my time investment and I am dissatisfied with the prof
I enjoyed this class everyday! Helped me learn and grow on my writing.
For this class, there is an essay and peer editing assignment due each week. Professor Peterson grades nicely with good feedback. As long as you follow the rubric and assignment directions you will get an A. It is very easy to lose points if you don't follow the rubric, so don't make that mistake.
YOU NEED TEXTBOOK can't get around it nothing online. Involve the prof if you're trying to get caught up. Understanding and allows extensions. You can redo assignment for credit. Weeks alternate between one 3 hour assignment and one 6 hour assignment. Can work ahead. A is doable but you're gonna need to WORK, class is a multi-hour a week commitment
Allows for corrections for bigger assignments. Just one big research project essentially. Only one assignment is very time consuming and overall a useful and easy class for a 200-level English course. I would recommend it, coming from someone who does not like English classes (at all). She seemed very caring from the one Zoom meeting I had.
Wonderful, understanding teacher that cares about her student's growth and learning. Allows you to improve your writing for a better grade. Great feedback and examples. Take her classes if you want an instructor who truly wants you to learn and improve your writing.
She is a good Professor. Her grading criteria is clear, she is nice, gives a reasonable amount of work, and her grading is fair.
ENGL 235 is heavier in workload than most English classes, but Professor Peterson makes it more enjoyable! She cares about your learning, and if you are willing to do the work, you are rewarded. I usually spend an average of 4-8 weeks of work on this class!
I had no idea what this class would be like, but I enjoyed it. There's a lot of writing, but Prof accommodated me & allowed extensions w advance notice. Be prepared to dedicate more than her expectation of 10hrs a wk if you want an A, prob more like 15-18/wk. Good at replying to emails, allows revisions, and grades fairly. Hybrid is the way to go!
Typically I don't rate professors, but Professor Pete genuinely cares about her students. She will try to give students the help they need when they express it and she will do it as soon as possible. Not only did she teach technical writing skills, her assignments are interesting and applicable in the real world. Take her, she is a gem!!
Key issues: -*Irresponsible use of chatgpt that undermines college education* -Assignments are unclear -Poor use of class time. 50% can easily be drained on anecdotes. IMO, chatgpt use should be scaled down 75%. There's nothing fulfilling about using it, no sense of accomplishment or progress, and it'll leave you totally ill-prepared for 201.
Key issues: -Irresponsible use of chatgpt that undermines college education -Assignments are unclear & unorganized -Poor use of class time. 50% easily drained on anecdotes. You're expected to learn via chatgpt. It's unfulfilling, gives no sense of accomplishment/progress, and leaves you ill-prepped for 201. IMO, its use should be scaled down 75%.
Prof. Pete is an exceptional teacher. Her method stresses critical thinking, pushing us to analyze and understand current world issues deeply. She also teaches us about the ethical and proper use of AI tools. AI is a tool; it helps, but it won't write your essay. She is kind, thoughtful, and funny! I truly appreciated and enjoyed learning from her.
Professor Pete. is an amazing teacher. She gives great feedback, understands the importance of adapting to emerging technologies, and encourages responsible use of AI for assignments and for learning. Up to the final paper, she allows revisions for all of the work submitted. With some effort, getting an A in her class is easily achievable.
I never leave reviews for professors, but after taking this class, I wanted to leave a positive review for Prof. Pete. Her lectures are entertaining, and she teaches how to utilize ChatGPT effectively. She genuinely cares about her students and encourages assignment revisions to support the learning process. I would 100% take her class again.
-Materials are bloated with ChatGPT "augmentation" and often difficult to absorb. -Whiteboard during lecture is the professor's stream of consciousness, doesn't provide any helpful context. -This is "Technical Writing" but prof seems fixated on business communication (and has actually called it "business writing") -Trying to reinvent the wheel.
Disorganized and self-focused, she often contradicted herself and relied on AI for instruction, offering minimal guidance. Most help came from peers and ChatGPT, leaving the class confused. Classes were full of anecdotes, and she was frequently late. Though not difficult, the course required a lot of busy work with articles and AI.
Completely unnecessary to be in class as nothing relates back to homework, never gave any feedback and relied on peer review before turning in final assignments, everything was busy work, whole class was constantly confused as she changed expectations and requirements without informing us, very disorganized, purely taught us to use ChatGPT.
Prof Peterson runs a challenging but rewarding ENGL235 class. Lots of writing, but she's understanding and allows revisions. unstuck AI was a lifesaver for my study prep. Be ready to put in 15+ hrs/week, but you'll learn a ton.
I took this class with the understanding that it would progress my technical writing abilities and aid me in my future career. This was not the case. The assignments are clearly designed to push a specific agenda. While an easy class, it was nothing more than politically-guided busywork. Ultimately, nothing of value was gained.
Nothing about this class lines up with what it says on BCs website. This is a liberal arts professor that got stuck teaching technical writing and decided to throw her middle fingers up at the curriculum. TBF, just tell her what she wants to hear and you'll get a fine grade. Just wish it wasn't packed with so much busy work.
Engaging prof, funny lectures, decent amount of work, but reasonable and understanding grader. But she insists upon the use of AI excessively. Every assignment required use of ChatGPT. Felt she was too busy "discovering" AI to teach english. Don't take if you want to actually grow your english skills.
Professor Pete. is awesome. She does involve the use of AI in almost all her assignments (which is a controversial topic at the moment) but you don't have to use it. She is caring and I think she genuinely wants to see her students succeed. I learned a lot from this class and the instructions for the most part were clear.
Great professor, clearly passionate.
