Karun is by far one of the best professors I have had at UFV. He cares about his students, responds to emails promptly, his assignments are manageable and clear, gives an extensive amount of feedback, and is greatly respected. He posts the weekly course assignments/powerpoints on time. I also would argue that he is a very fair marker.

He is the best prof I have ever had. He is so nice and knowledgeable and will help you and go the extra mile. His tests were fair, and he is a fair marker. I cant wait to take a class with him again. Highly recommend it, I learned a lot and he made it fun.

Karun is the best! All of the extra videos/texts he provide were perfect for the discussion questions assigned, and I learned a lot just from those. His experiences in social work really positively benefit his students. He truly cares for everyone he teaches and wants to help in any way he can. If I can take him again I absolutely will!

I love his sense of humour; interestingly he brings so many examples across the world; he has visited so many countries and his experiences from these countries are great resources; I like how he frames discussion questions; they are so lively and engaging. His comments are very critical and helpful!! But, be prepared to read his long comments:)

Dr. Karki is the best professor I have ever had. He is very caring and asks how the class is all doing. He gave out his cell number so students needing help can quickly text him, and he always replies to email questions- which other professors I have been getting ignored. He makes the course interesting and fun and this is my favourite course.

I took 2 classes with Dr. Karun Karki, a really thoughtful professor; he is always triple checking that we fully understand our assignments outlines and VERY quick to respond to emails when you have questions. I feel like he genuinely cares about his students success in his class and goes above measure to ensure it happens. But he is a hard grader.

He helps facilitate really good group discussions considering it's an online format and picks really interesting course material for said discussion. I appreciate his feedback and how he goes above and beyond for communication. Course outlines were detailed, he allowed for changes due to COVID, making it more fair for an online instructional class

Karun has been an extraordinary Prof. this semester amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Karun is incredible! I would recommend him to anyone, even if you are not a social work student. What stands out for me is how accessible he is, he responds to emails and texts very quickly and truly wants what is best for you. He was also very lenient during the floods this semester, which I know helped some of the Abbotsford students.

Karun is a wonderful professor. This man really knows his stuff and considering the subject he teaches- speaks with profound empathy for human struggle. Exams are not very difficult if you pay attention to the material and read the textbook. If you cant empathize with the struggles of disenfranchised people, this class is absolutely not for you.

I really enjoyed Karun's class. It was interesting and not too heavy. One of my favorite professors so far. Most of this class's grades came from 2 tests and participation.

Surprisingly, this course and Karuns ability to draw upon his real life experiences made Sowk 210 interesting and life changing! The textbook by Robert Harding was eye opening. Thank you Karun.

Karun is definitely one of my favourite professors I've had at UFV. He is caring, empathetic and will go out of his way to help students succeed. If you need an extension you are more than likely to receive one, and he is ready to help with any issue on zoom or through email. You can tell that enjoys what he does.

By far the best prof I have ever had he is so understanding and he is very easy on homework. His assignments are easy and he marks really easy too. His weekly discussion were the best you get to state your opinion without getting judged and you would get marks for just participating. I would definitely take him again.

Karun is very quick in responding to emails and attendance is not mandatory. His class has weekly discussions and quizzes, but if you are efficient with his class you can totally get all the work done on Wednesday. There is also a mid-term, and group project (a paper and presentation). Overall, the course unpacked great content and Karun was great!

Karun bring in a lot of guest lectures which means you get to hear the experiences of many different people which was awesome. The exams and assignments are quite easy although you do have to stay on top of participation to get a good grade.

I enjoyed Dr. Karun Karki's SOWK 210 online class! It was a good balance of synchronous and asynchronous classes. The synchronous classes usually included guest speakers, who were inspirational and interesting. Dr. Karki is a good communicator, responds to your questions/concerns, and is very knowledgeable! Karun is an absolutely amazing prof. I was nervous to take research methods (SOWK404), however Karun made the course content interesting and easy to understand. There was a lot of group work, but assignments were all fairly easy to understand. Additionally, Karun gave great feedback and was always available to help students when need be.

He's genuinely one of the best profs I've ever had. Show up to class and read the chapter. That's all you need to do good in the class. For all of you with anxiety he doesn't call on you but simply answers the questions himself. There is a presentation at the end but he gives you the option of recording.

Karun is the most caring and understanding prof you will meet in the Human Service department. He makes himself available via in-person, email, text, and around the clock. Most of his assessments are drawn from practice work, which helps solidify key ideas from the course.

Very easy & informative class. read textbook chapters, lecture is him going over it, then there's a little MC quiz (never over 15Q). each quiz has a practice quiz thats VERY similar to real thing. Engages with the class, shows videos, good for clarification. 1 big group paper (up to 3 ppl) & presentation. lots of class discussion

I took this course in the winter 2022 semester. It was the second course I have taken with Karun. Great prof. However, SOWK 210 was more frustrating because we had to write a group paper. Very different as opposed to a project because everyone has different writing styles. Group work is also very frustrating in general. Nonetheless, Karun is great.

Took Karun for SOWK 110 and I hope to take more classes by him. He put extra effort to ensure students understood the material and were prepared for tests. He marked fairly and gave positive feedback.
