Great professor! Wise, nice and funny. He made politics fun!!! And he is a very interesting person!!!
Makes Political Science fun. Allows debates in class which make the class go by alot faster. He does gave his point of view on politics so be prepared to debate with him. I would recommend taking pol. sci. with him because it is not a boring class and if you keep up with the reading will do good in
This is the nicest professor i have ever met, he has such a good heart, and a great sense of humor. He really does make Political Science a great class, it is prett kick back of an atmosphere.
If you're interested in the Middle East this is the man to learn from. Knows the subject to the deepest level and imparts this knowledge to the students. Probably the most knowledgable professor I've had in my 5 year college career. He's easy to get along with and accomodating to student's requests.
Awsome professor. Test are easy, topics are interesting. I would take his class again.
Is this college? The most understanding and compassionate professor I have met. Let's you out early if you're taking a night class. Only had a few tests, and gave the questions ahead of time! Only 2! Made lectures fun and has a sense of humor! Very kind and great person. Has a teenager and is very understanding. Don't miss out on this one. A+ 100%
The most layed back teacher. he is easy. u can ask him to have take home tests. allows u to sleep in class. the best teacher i have had at pierce and he also teaches at CSUN
nice guy. Very easy going teacher, but not too efficient in actually teaching. He gets distracted easily and forgets to tell us information for the test.
This class was a joke....
This teacher is simply the best - he makes the class so much fun and helps you a lot to get a good grade in the class. if you are middle eastern you will probably like him even more! Nabulsi we love you! :)
He was soooo easy he gave us all the test questions to study with this class was a total joke take him if u want an easy class
he knows what he is talking about...he makes it easy as possible for his students...yes he isnt the most efficient teacher...but makes the class very tolerable....lets you have a lot of discussions...cool guy
great teacher helped us learn a lot and kept the class interested , its a general req but made me learn more than any other class . great teacher i wish him the best of luck.
Dr. Nabulsi is a very intelligent man. He teaches at USC & CSUN. He knows a lot about the middle east and everything else. Gives you all the questions to the test and then he curves it too! Take him he's probably the best poli sci teacher. Funny guy, good jokes.
He is a great teacher. I took this class as a Gen. Ed. course and he made me want to major or minor in poly sci. Taught me a lot about our gov. Fun and intresting class. His tests are either take home or he emails you the multiple choice ?'s.
Knows everything about politics and Middle East affairs, very fair to all students, provide questions to mc, will repeat same thing 1000 times till everybody understands, makes class fun, used current news to explain poltics, i learned a lot in his class, good man, strongly recommended!
horrible. talks about his boring life all the time. very disorganized. he even told us that he doesnt do anything, cuz the lectures and the exams he gives us come with the book. i got an A, but his class was a joke.
Down to earth teacher... Straight out says he doesn't follow books and has his own teaching style.. Emails you Multiple Choice questions for tests. I learned a lot in his class, glad we didn't go through the book which seemed boring.
Very, very nice man. Wants you to do well in his class, a little on the disorganized side, but it works for him. The text book and the tests were useless. I learned A LOT from him and his lectures. He is very intelligent and knows EVERYTHING about Political Science. I recommend him. Good man!
Super-disorganized and the tests were absolutely useless. The test questions were straight from the book and were absolutely retarded. His lectures were interesting but had little to do with the tests.
He is a Very educated guy on the subeject and he knows his stuff really well. Has a great sense of humor, and you can learn from him really well. We just had to take a final and write an essay. He gives good outlines on the essays to follow so its easy and he gives the tests questions a week before and is in essay form. Very good teacher.Recomended
he one of my favorite teacher at pierce cuz hes fun in class with many great stories he knows from his own country. He would tell you about every single thing or rule in PS.Otherwise, tests and final from his class are really easy just give him an email then get free A on the test.Recomended.
this man is the greatest professor! he cares soooooo much for his students its unbelievable! no hw, just tests, that he will help u on if u email him. really helpful and very understanding!!!
He is a jreat teacher - has the biggest heart in the world. You do get the test questions before hand but there are 250 of them - how do you look them up & know them in a span of 7 days? I could not but they really helped. If you have to miss class make it up in another class - this is important to him. If U R late tell him U took the bus.
Take notes of his lectures, review his sample questions, and be present in all of his lectures. He gives study guides for his tests.
Dr. Nabulsi is a wonderful teacher! Once you finish this class you will definitely have a better understanding of Middle Eastern politics. I highly recommend his class, no matter the subject. Keep in mind, attendance is very important!
If you want to learn about US Politics do not take him. If you love the middle east take him, cuz that is all he talks about.
No bureaucratic red tape; Gives you test in advance (multiple choice), his lectures tend to digress and you get lost in the mix easily. But all in all, very nice and easy. If you don't get an A, you are an idiot.
Sweet man, very funny and nice. Gives test in advance so u can memorize answer. Pay attn to lectures. Tends to stray frm topic, but gives u poss. essay Q's in lect. Tells lots of stories not related to PoliSci. Raise ur hand! This class is a breeze. I hate Poli Sci and got the highest test grade twice. Drops lwst score. Lets u out early @ times
really great professor, his lectures are engaging, so everyone must participate in discussions. we have to talk about current events and our opinion on it in the beginning of class. he gives test questions in advance and drops the lowest grade. awesome teacher
I took his winter course. study guide identical to test, but it is about 200+ questions. Tests include essay questions which you must get from the lectures. Attendance is Mandatory and it will affect your grade. Grade is dependent on test scores, he drops lowest grade though. An A is easy with a bit of studying.
I took this class Fall 2006 and I found it very interesting. However, the study guide can be over whelming. There are 200 questions on the sudy guide and only 80 questions on the test. Participation and attendance are part of your grade. I would recommend this class to anyone.
Must create a study group! He is very rude and gives u like 200+ questions that will be on the test. U MUST remember them all cause u never know which ones he'll pock for the test. I think he is very unfair although the questons do help. If u take him just know he isnt easy. Kind of an **** actually.
his class can be boring at times, but overall very interesting. He has a sense of humor (looks and acts like Eugene Levy) and uses perfect analogies to describe difficult concepts. Hardly anyone drops his class, and it is not hard to get an A.
Nabulsi is so easy!!!!! He gives you the exact answers to every test. Says he is going to have an essay question on every test and then scraps some of them. You have to show up to class though, direct impact on your grade. If you cant get at least a B in his class, with minimal studying......maybe school just isnt for you.
Prof. Nabulsi is simply the best. he is extremly funny and very knowledgeable on the subject he is teaching on. He also grades your paper very "fairly". As long as you attend the class and read through the text and notes before the exam, you should be able get an A easily in his class.
He is the best guy. Really cares about the future of the world & his fellow man. Really knows his stuff.
ummmm to sum it all up hes AIGHTTTTT like ive seen better professors. his tests are easy if u read d book n answer all of study guide question correctly bcuz all his tests are directly from dem..he never helps with the study guide btw....has sum essay questions ond test...which are impossible to get all right on...attendance is mandatory... lecture
Great teacher. His accent can sometimes be hard to follow but he does his best to be clear with the students. Tests are a piece of cake, and overall he makes the subject very interesting and fun. You should defiantly enroll in one of his classes, you’ll enjoy it.
Well... it's funny because he says that participation in the class is a must. However, he makes you feel kind of dumb when you ask a question. The cool thing is that he gives great study guides for the exams. Just answer them and memorize the answers because they are exactly the same on the test (just fewer questions).
I had him for political science 1 and I was VERY impressed with him, he was a great teacher for that. I took him for polsci 14 and was thiking that he would be great for it as well and he was good towards the beginning, but after he was abscent a few days due to sickness, then a few cancelled classes due to holidays, the class became very confusing
This Teacher is so Great and super helpfull. If you dont understand something he will give you examples over and over until you get it. You must take him.. I wish more professors could be like him.
If you want an extreme neo-conservative view of politics and the world, then you should take him. Even though he laments about being an objective professor, do not look for objectivity with Nabulsi.
THE BEST TEACHER! i loved his class it was super easy and actually interesting, he made the class fun and hes a funny teacher ppl who complain are really lazy because he basically hands u a good grade. Take him while he's still at pierce, we need more teachers like him.
a generally easy class if you have a good memory..gives study guides and all you have to do is look for the answers by reading the book..tests will be coming from the study guides..having a book is very crucial..he lectures on the general ideas of political science..attendance is a must (checks attendance every time)
I've taken every course Dr. Nabulsi teaches at Pierce. As a result, I learned to debate and speak my mind. Nowhere else will you get the kind of freedom to voice your mind anywhere else. In every other class, you just STFU and listen. In his classes, you can actually expand your mind. He calm and very reasonable. He can accommodate for surprises.
He is very nice and helpful. I truly enjoyed class. His prospectives and stories were great. Took it over the summer so every test had a lot of material from a lot of chapters. He gives large study guides but the questions are straight from the study guide. You will need to get the answers for the study guide from the book not the lectures.
prof nabulsi is the best teacher at pierce college. gives study guides before test so student can study, and gives great lectures in class which are very interesting and compelling. he is very fair, to get an A, you need to put great effort and hard work, but the end result is worth it. Prof Nabulsi is great.
Didn't like him. Didn't have the "mid-term" until 2 weeks before the final. Didn't get the mid-term back till after the final. He's a very interesting and nice teacher, he just wasn't at all organized. He basically re-started the semester 3 weeks into it. Nice guy, I just regret taking his class
i don't think i've ever been so annoyed with a professor as i have with this one. he gets sidetracked REAL easy, doesn't really answer your questions and very disorganized and forgetful. i have to say, this was a very easy A for me tho. take him for that fact. but if you don't want to spend the whole time in class rolling your eyes, don't.
Nice guy, but can be very rude. Lectures are somewhat relevant, but usually nothing from them are on the tests. The study guides are insane! 233 questions! Then we get a 75 question test and half the questions aren't from the study guide... VERY DIFFICULT and disappointing. If you're not proficcient in Political Science, don't take him.
He is the best. everyones crying about the study guides but they are the tests/midterms/finals. easy A. hes a funny guy take him
He is the best. everyones crying about the study guides but they are the tests/midterms/finals. easy A. hes a funny guy take him
Attendance and participation were mandatory. Everything he talked about were not related to the class but rather about current affairs. The study guide is a major work load and you must devote your time with it. The entire study guide composes of mostly the whole test.
Hands out study guide prior to exam but you have to create the time towards searching for the answers. The class was not a breeze.
Irrelevant lectures. Memorizing 600-700 question study guides is only way to pass test/class. Every1 complained, even Dean came to evaluate him. Not prepared. No useful class structure. Not recommended.
Prof Nabulsi is "great" if you are really into Govt & have the self-motivation & discipline to read the text & painstakingly find answers to all study guide Qs. His S.G's are very long-over 40 pages & all the questions came from a test bank. He's a nice prof with sense of humor & much knowledge in his field, yet class is more like independent study
haha, this class is my favorite. really, its mainly lecture and discussion about relevant/current events. he has a million and one stories, and is a really funny teacher. he ends up digressing a lot though, so we never ended up even taking a midterm. just one paper. fun class, take it if youre really just interested in learning, not taking tests
he doesn't mess around. direct teacher very funny makes class enjoyable take him if you cant. tests are straight from book
He is the best teacher I've ever had. I love him so much. He is su funny during his class, so never feel boring. He has a study guide for his tests and helps his students during his office hours. He is awesome.
Blatantly told class that he's only here to get paid and to guide, not to teach. Irrelevant lectures, gives us 15 page study guides 5 days prior to exams and leaves us to find all the answers. Forced the class to act natural like hes teaching when Dean eval. came in. Considers overachievers' opinions over rest of class. Not recommended for anyone
He was really cool. Take home mid-term and an open book final. It was awesome, talks about currents events. Show some interest and read the news and you will certainly do good. Read the text book! Or atleast the first 6 chapters, they help with the whole semester.
Nice and funny man. Your grade will be based on 6 exams, participation and attendence. He gives you study guides consisting of 300 questions or about 18 pages which you will have to find the answer to by reading or skimming the text book. You should check all your answers with him before memorizing. I suggest getting in groups ;) Ace-able class
kind of pointless class but he passes everyone :)
If you are a lazy student and willing to pass his class with out doing the work this is not going to happen. You need to study. He is the best in pierce, he gives you study guide which is a big blessing, he helps you a lot, his class is fun, he makes the subject so easy and simple for you,I got "A" in his class , easy goign take him
He is the best political science professor in Pierce college campus.everyone crying about the study guides but it is nice of him for doing that.they are the tests/midterms/finals you need to study and your A will be guaranteed easy A. hes a funny guy take him and don't even think about it awesome man
Although he asked everyone to not recommend him to anyone because he wants other professor have students as well, but just go to his class and do anything possible to get add. He is one of the teachers that make Pierce College to be proud in other community colleges.
A disorganized man. Easy to pass and too lenient with students. His authority is laughable at best. He has a bit of an accent but his lectures are very understandable, but not exactly informational. You're better off ignoring his speeches and studying his study guides. His study guides include every question in his scantrons tests.
ehh. not the best poli sci professor at pierce but not the worst either, I liked his study guides because they were fairly consistent
Teacher is kind of scrambled but very helpful and kind. He keeps the class interested in what he is saying and his study guides are his tests.
He is an awesome professor and very nice. In class he talks about politics and doesn't talk about the chapters in the book but the secret to passing his class is going to his one on one meetings and he will give you the answers to his test. SUPER NICE GUY!!! Thank you for everything Professor Nabulsi
He's a fantastic person, not much in the professor department. He admits to his downfall and is willing to help one on one. Be prepared to study hard if you wanna pass!
This class was awful. It was horribly boring and class discussion on current events was all that was ever done. Nabulsi said he put up his lecture on moodle and never did. He must of lecture twice the entire semester. He's a nice man ,but not a great professor. He does give study guides for tests which do help since no actual learning will be done.
If you ask him to lecture then he will if not then its open discussion on current events. Book is necessary and he gives out a study guide. The questions on his study guide are on the test. Study it and you'll pass.
A perfect and nice professor. He always helps his students to learn the subjects. He gives study guides and it make the subject so easy to learn and understand. He postpones the exams until all students be prepare for it.you will never feel stress in his class because he is a very nice man. I recommend everyone to take this class with him.
He is one of the best @ pierce he helps students to succeed his lecture's at some point very interesting. his study guide is very good, but you have study a lot to get an A, take him and study you never regret.
MY FAVORITE CLASS AT PIERCE!!! SUCH AN AMAZING TEACHER SOOO FUNNY AND ENTERTAINING REALLY NICE WANTS TO GIVE EVERYONE A GOOD GRADE. MUST ATTEND CLASS FOR HIM TO LIKE YOU. LONG TEST 3 OF THEM. BUT STUDY GUIDES ARE IDENTICAL TO TEST! TAKE HIM AMAZING!
Fun class to come in and share your opinions. I would definitely take him if you need a GPA-boost. Really goes with how the class feels, for instance, he decided not to use a text book for my class. All the test ended up being non-existent and the final turned into a take him essay and an article analysis. Great, simple, and lazy, great professor.
Great, really intelligent guy. He's not going to push you hard but he really cares about his students and is fair. His class is more like a friend explaining something they are passionate about to you. I learned a ton, I would take his class again
He is way Unorganized! He always forgets when to put up the study guide or Home work. Depending on your class, it's can be 1 hr of random BS with 30 min of Pol.Sci. or not. He never stays on topic. Test's are easy if he puts up study guide. You wont learn a dam thing but if you could put up with BS class and pass test your fine. Text mandatory!
This class seems easy- it's not. Nabulsi does not teach what your grade depends on, but you will learn other important things, that do not improve your grade at all. He counts attendance and participation. If you are doing ok on test don't quit he won't let you fail if you stick around. Got to his office hours. Essay questions are half the test!
His class is boring, but all you need is to find the answers for the study guides he provides before each tests and study them really hard, tons of questions to be memorized. There is only one online assigned homework which he does not even care what your score is! Although I failed one my tests I talked to him and got an A finally
He is an awesome professor. Easy A if you follow the study guides and take notes.Take him, and you will be up to date with the current events. He tries very hard to keep the lectures interesting. What are you waiting for? Take him :)
My experience with Mr Nabulsi was amazing and I will never forget this professor. You definitely have to work for your grade but class lectures were very engaging and discussion based (which i liked). No homework, 1 take home test, 1 final that was it. If you're not lazy you'll do well.
Not a hard teacher, great to talk to during office hours. He will let you make up tests. Very knowledgeable, knows hit shhh.
Does not go into detail of any chapters beyond Chapter 1, gives repetitive, unclear lessons based on concepts from the first week of class. Admits not knowing some of the material; becomes very overdramatic when the class is loud; makes unsettling jokes about alcohol and ISIS; insulted the class, calling us "brats," "cowards" and "freaks."
llovely pro
Professional. Very Knowledgeable. Caring. Funny. Gives study guides, go over them thoroughly and you would do great. One of the best professors I have had at Pierce. Have had three classes with him, PoliSci 2, 7 and 14. Would take him again in a heart beat.
Alright so I have nothing horrible to say about him, but nothing too good either. The only big perk is that he literally gives you the test before the test. It consists of multiple choice, fill in the blanks and essay questions. You gotta memorize all of that ish! Since your grade is based solely on tests. No lectures. Just do the study guides
Show up to class because he counts participation. However, the first 4 lectures of class will be about PolySci and what is on the test The rest will be discussion about what is happening in the world right then. Go to his office hours, review the test, and you will pass the class.
Don't take him.
Really nice professor. Gives you study guides for the tests about 3 weeks in advance. the study guide is literally the test, go to his office hours and review the questions with them, study and you will do great. The studying requires a few days of time but you won't regret it.
Most of his lectures are about current events. He's very knowledgeable but the actual class lacks organization, the syllabus basically became irrelevant by the third week.
Best prof. He really cares about his students. He gives you a study guide, the study guide is the test.. so you shouldn't fail if you've done the study guide .
best one ever, if just read the study guide you will get an A loved him
Nabulsi is funny and all, but don't expect to learn much in his class. He talks for the entire class period about irrelevant subject matter, having little to do with the class. However, he does provide the entire test in the study guide, so it's very easy to get As on his test.
He is definitely the best PoliSci professor. Very knowledgeable, nice, and hilarious. He is really caring and kind. Always there for questions if someone needs help. He gives you all you need for the test. TAKE HIM!
Easy A. He gives you the exam prior to the exam date, so that's very helpful. He is also very insightful about politics and is attentive to students' needs and concerns.
Lacks organization, talks very slowly, tells stories about his life instead of discussing whatever is on the syllabus. Gives sample exams that are identical to the actual test. Take a different professor.
Lecutres are a hit or miss if youll be learning something that day, but when he actually teaches youll learn something. He gives you a 20 page, 200+ question study guide for a 70 question test with no word bank for the test. Your grade is based solely on the 4 exams. He doesnt curve his test or give extra credit, so best of luck, youll need it.
He requires participation and be attentive he gives the study guides for the tests a couple weeks in advance and the tests are nearly identical so be sure to study them completely
He talks about his life, more then the actual school work. Can be very rude, and he's very sarcastic. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
One of the best teachers I have taken, and I have taken over 100 units. Extremely passionate and knowledgeable ,however do not rely on class lectures to learn or pass the class, is structured for discussion. You get a study guide that is literally the test and all you have to do is read the book and find the answers(still relatively challenging)
One of the best professor i have had in college so far. Hes caring and wants you to pass the calss.
If you're looking for an easy A take his class. He goes off on tangents alot but the discussions are about current events and are fun. He never assigned hw, we just had three or four big tests which he gives study guides to then the test is exactly the study guide.
HE IS MY HERO I LEARN SO MUCH FROM HIM
One of the worst professors I've ever had. He's a very nice person, but you don't learn a single thing. Supposed to have 4 tests and only managed to take 2 test before cramming everything else in the last week. Tests are all memorization of 150+ terms. Even if I knew I was going to get an A ahead of time, I still wouldn't take this class again lol
I appreciate this professor he prepares you for a 4 yr. college. He's super nice and gives the class freedom of speech, which not a lot of professors give! Your grade is based off 4 test & participation you're responsible for reading chapters ahead & ask questions in class. He gives you the study guide! Do the work study & you'll be fine!
He gives study-guides which are exact test questions and you can even find the answers on quiz let. He cut down the Study guide questions after the first exam. He does give take home tests and some of the questions are challenging, so get help from as many peers as possible. He is hilarious, tells funny stories throughout his lectures.
If you're a Poli Sci major who wants to learn, do not take this class. He doesn't teach anything. He says to buy the book but you hardly ever use it. He gets off topic very easily and will waste most of your class time. However, if you're trying to take an easy class, take this one. He gives out study guides with the exact questions from the test.
The only time attendance mattes is when there is not that many people showing up to class. But you also have to email him if you decide not to show up.
he's a good teacher to take if you're looking for an easy A but if you're a PoliSci major, I wouldn't recommend. He gets off topic a lot so a large majority of the learning is done by yourself. You have to buy a book that you rarely ever use but the tests are exactly like the study guide. He's a cool guy tho, go to office hours and you won't fail
He really wants you to succeed. He relies heavily on open discussions among students to ensure comprehension of the lecture. He's never bias and always provides empirical evidence. He could be lazy when it comes to preparing his lectures on canvas.
He makes sure you understand the lecture even those who don't seem to care. He wants everyone to succeed. He could be a little bit out of touch with the current tech but manages.
Dr. Nabulsi was certainly not the kind of professor I was expecting. I took him for Pol Sci 001, which eventually turned into an online class. He is very caring and will help you if he feels it is necessary. However, he can also get a little off-topic. Attendance really matters and he's funny. If you're a hard worker, this class is for you.
Online asynchronous class. Just got done taking the first quiz. He gave us 40 MINUTES to do 50 questions. 2/3 of questions were from study guide, so that was ok. Other 1/3 of questions were not. Since it was open book/lecture/note, you could look but you had no time to. He made it so you can't go back and change/review answers. Unfair. Buy quizlet.
My suggestion is to work on the study guide as soon as it becomes available. The exams are open notes but they are timed. So, before you start your exam, make sure your study guide is completely filled out.
He is a chill professor. He only grades on tests. He gives study guides for the tests with a lot of questions. The test questions come exactly from the study guide, so make sure you answer the study guide correctly. There is also a lot of reading involved.
I took Dr. Nabulsi for two classes in the past one was in person and the other transitioned to online when Civid-19 hit. He is such a caring and funny man. Very understanding. Extremely intellegent and very respectful of all students opinions. Great study guides. Not the easiest A but pretty close. I would takehim again for sure.
He mostly grades on the tests from the study guide he gives out. Overall the professor is chill.
His study guides are a mess. He gives the same question multiple times on study guide. He gives you test with 80 or more questions but only gives 80 minutes to complete. That is 1 minute (or less if there are more questions) to answer the questions. DON'T BOTHER TO TAKE HIS CLASS. Find another professor.
This was a very straightforward class. He gives you a study guide for each test and all of the test questions are on there. Just make sure to have the study guide done prior to taking the test and you should be fine. All of the study guide answers are in the book! There is also a discussion board where you can ask peers and the professor questions.
