This class is a critical thinking class. All assignments are in essay format. Only 2 out of 6 assignments have been graded. Absolutely no feedback on essays. With no grades and no feedback it is near impossible to evolve to they type of writing she is wanting.

Taking her online will be the WORST decision of your life. She never grades. You have a midterm & final for 400 points that if you get a "decent" grade on you don't have a chance. Got 100 points taken off for putting quotes. Lecture notes will not help for your finals cause the material is not in there & you can't use outside sources. Hated my life

I would not recommend this class to anyone. Extremely hard grader on every single assignment. Does not post grades and you cannot get ahold of her outside of class. If you are required to take this class take someone else. Her lectures are long and you must attend every class to get all of the notes. Just do yourself a favor and avoid this class.

Was really excited for this class as a feminist myself, but Dr. Williams ruined it for me. Took this opportunity to talk about her personal opinions and did not really allow much discussion. Just wanted students to agree with her. Also did not follow her syllabus and maybe put in three grades for the entire semester.

I was very excited about this class, but once I got in this class I dreaded it every Tues/Thurs. She did not allow for much discussion (even though that was supposed to and she did not go by her syllabus at all. Do not recommend her at all.

She teaches in a very heavy lecture style so expect to take a LOT of notes. Very anal about tardiness and no phones in the classroom. She also only has about 2-3 essays being the only grades save a few small assignments. That being said, its an interesting class that offers a different teaching approach from any other history prof. a Marshall.

She is a tough grader, and doesn't have rubrics so you don't know where or why she took points off. Her test are take home but they are difficult. They are three essay questions that she grades harshly. You have a midterm and a final. You also have to read two book and take two in-class essay quizzes. She never came to class, but requires you to.

I regret taking this class. In the discussions for the online class, we were told not to regurgitate information from the lectures given. This is okay, except I wasn't. How am I supposed to answer questions without mentioning the content? Do you just want my opinion? What's the point? She has not been very helpful.

This class was very interesting, I enjoyed the content. However, this professor is not the easiest. While passionate she isn't interested in questions during her lectures until the very end which can be hard. Her final was only on her lectures and in form of a 3 pg essay questions so if you don't take good notes you will have a hard time.

I loved being a student of Kat's history class. She lectures heavy so you always need to pay attention and take great notes. When you write essays for her class they can be a lot, but as long as you have notes and listen then you won't have any problems at all.

Dr. Kat is amazing! She is hilarious, inspiring, caring, and spunky. I hated history before I took her class. She was so genuine about everything she taught and really made me feel like I could succeed. All of her tests are short answer and she grades pretty tough, but if youre willing to put in the work, youll do fine.

Dr. Williams is an incredible professor. She assigns two books for the course of the semester. There are book quizzes, which are "essay" based. The midterm and final are essays as well. Her lectures go very in-depth and she always answers questions clearly. I really enjoyed her class this semester and would recommend her.

Loved her! She knows what she is talking about and is hilarious. Not very good about answering emails, but will answer any questions in class. Attendance is necessary for essays and understanding. Takes off points but does not say what for. Overall, she'll make you work for the grade but her classes are great!

I took this class as a hybrid class during the pandemic. Dr. Williams is pretty solid overall, she lectures a lot and splits her class up into around 5 units. One paper, one reading, and one movie per unit. You use the lectures, readings and movie to write the unit paper. Shes also passionate so the lectures are fun, solid choice overall.

You have a total of 5 papers that are 2-3 pages long. The final is 3 essays that are 2-3 pages. In total you'll write 8 essays, and those are your only grades. She doesn't use a text book, but she uses a graphic novel, novel, and other readings. She is very passionate, but you have to go to class and take notes otherwise you're screwed.

Prof. Kat assigns 5 (2-3 page) papers throughout the semester and her final is a 6-9 page paper on her lectures. Take notes! She assigns two books to read and there are a few movies to watch. She's a tough grader. Her paper prompts were often difficult to answer with the information she gives throughout the units.
