Loved the class and the instructor! Would recommend it to anyone. If you're looking for an easy grader, K. Adams is not the one to take the class with, but if you're really interested in the subject and know the difference between high school and college - you'll have fun and learn a lot!

She was awesome. She was never absent; she was sick with an allergy yet she turned up on time. she had to attend a seminar out of town yet she arrived for class punctually-truly committed in her profession. She made me realize that there was no reason to miss class. I will always respect her dedication. She made me who I am today-eager to learn.

If you actually want to learn and do work, this is the instructor for you. Shes not easy, but is there to help you if you need it. One of, if not the, best.

Proffesor Adams is cool as****, I like open forum classes and this is one of those classes. There is a lot of reading and writing invloved but why the **** would you be in college if you had not interest in either of these disiplines.

Dr. Adams opens my ears to listen and be a good listener. She opens my eyes to many different point of view. She opens my mind that I am not right all the time. She opens my heart, to take as many English classes that would fit in my schedule so that I will be confident in the language. AHC English Dept improves because she cares-Adams is great!

This is the professor that you want to take if you want to learn something, want to be inspired, want to improve your skills as a writer. She will help you become a better writer if you listen and do the work. A real college level course that is intense and though provoking. She knows her stuff and will share her knowledge if you want learn.

Dr Adams is Her! She is great, serious yet witty. Her classes are great prep for college. I discovered my passion in Lit in her open forums. She made me think and question my perspectives-she encourages without being soft yet cautions without being harsh. She is Perfect-great lecturer,person and mentor-so take her classes b4 she retires.

The students who have said that she is lazy/incompetent are just pissed off because an instructor made them think outside their comfort zone. If you really put in an effort in this class you will succeed. If you communicate your needs she will listen. She will not dumb down the work for you though, so be prepared for an actual college level class.

This is a serious class. Adams is very qualified and passionate about her class which turns out to be rather overwhelming. You really have to want it with this class, otherwise it is a kick in the butt. You can expect the students to decrease by about 60% as the semester goes on...i.e. hard. Now if English is your thing, you will probably love it.

She is the best! She drives me hard. She motivates me. Her discussions are thorough. Her grading is just. She is a wonderful mentor. Her class is a classic standard of what I can expect at University. She inspires me to be the best I can be! Sure, I took all her classes & I recommend her if your aim is to improve Eng. Dr.Adams is my role model.

Mrs. Adams is one of the most difficult classes I have ever had the pleasure of taking. She pushes each and every student harder then they've been pushed before. Biggest complaint is to much work. This is college, not grade school. Just because all your other classes refuse to give you work like a real college is no reason to complain.

she is the hardest teacher i have ever had! over 14 people dropped the class when i took it. i would not recromend taking her class unless you want a challenge. the workload is huge. although i must admit she is an extremly good teacher i would not take her class again.

Took the class online to get an AA then realized it wouldn't help toward the degree anyway which is good cause she wanted us to post and respond all week long and respond to everyone in class. Way to much work, maybe manageable if it was the only class you are taking!! Would not recommend.

Kate is like a cactus- with thorns yet fair. She works hard to prepare students for university work. Her confidence inspires us to grow in the language and ask questions. Often she treats us as equals-learning from each other. She reads and answers emails. Take her class-work hard-it is worth joining the line

If you would like to receive a B or worse take this class. But, if you don't, then I would not recommend this class. I've taken many many English classes, but Mrs. Adams requires wayyyy more from me than any other I've ever taken. It's a 3 unit class and I had about 8 to 9 hours of homework a week!! This is the only class I've ever gotten a B in

Dr. Adams is a great teacher and a cool person. Yes, she is a hard teacher, and yes, the class was difficult. However, if you followed the deadlines, read the materials, and engaged in discussion you probably passed the class. It was a lot of work but the class was worth it. Great topics and discussions. I'm taking her again next semester.

Her classes are hard BUT if you do the work, you will learn. She expects real work and real thinking, not just regurgitating information, so if you just want to pass an easy class, don't take hers. She's an excellent teacher but she doesn't hand out free grades. Do the work, get the grade.

She is a really tough and precise instructor. If you are an English major, take her because you will learn a lot from her. She is very smart and has mastery in English. The workload is burdensome and I almost gave up, (about 20 of the 30 dropped) but I sticked with it and got a B. English is my 2nd language and I improved a lot after taking this.

Dr. Adams is definitely not an easy teacher, but I learned so much in her class. She made the students think about the readings, not just merely read them. There are a LOT of discussion boards to do, but only two major papers (not counting the final). She knows what she's talking about. It is possible to get a good grade, you just have work hard.

I feel she is hard on us because she wants us to think. Why take a class if you dont learn anything. I learned so much in her class and cant wait to take her next one.

I've taken a few online classes w/her & will say that there's a lot of work. But you know the DB questions/essay topics well before they're due so if you stick w/the reading schedule & don't procrastinate you'll do just fine. I enjoyed her classes because she teaches you how to look at lit differently & you'll get more from it. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed the class very much at first it was intimidaing ...been out of school for 30 yrs. but professor Adams made me feel comfortable and had an open door policy to anything needed. Yes it was a challange but anything worthwhile takes effort as long as you remain teachable ...anything is possible. highly reccommend her class ....she rocks !!

If you really want to learn and become a better student I highly recommend this class. Put in the effort and you will definitely reap the rewards. Dr. Adams doesn't put up with bull, but she is an excellent proffessor with a lot to offer. You will have a lot to do in this class. Do it. You'll learn a lot.

I belive she is an extrodinary teacher! She like helping her stnudens. Even though she may be intimidating at the beginning she is great at what she does.

I've taken her classes several times and have always had to drop due to work, but I loved her classes! She's passionate about English. She's understanding. She's helpful and explains things well. She inspires students to critically think. As someone who wants to teach English one day, she has been a huge inspiration for me. Thank you, Kate!

Adams makes you think, and express yourself -- but in an English class, that's exactly the right way to proceed. She places a HIGH premium on inter-student course discussion, and this is where the "class" mainly takes place. The class is certainly not easy, but if you're committed, and you engage yourself, you will be enriched. No Doubt.

She knows exactly what she wants and how she wants it. You can tell she has a true passion for what she does. Sadly though I felt like I was in an anthropology class and not an english one. Very difficult grader and pretty much quotes her textbooks. Rants quite a bit as well.

Adams is a great English teacher! She is loves what she does and actually cares about what she's teaching the course. It's not an easy class, you must work for your grade. She's very good at replying to emails and always tries to help you when you need it. A lot of work and a lot of material to cover but it's well worth it.

A great teacher! Make no mistake; she is a rough grader. However, the best option is to simply go and speak with her. She will give you needed advice on the course. Also, be prepared to read and write... a lot. She is one of the best English teachers though, and you will learn the material. If English is your major take her!

Participation matters with Dr. Adam's online class, because how will she know that you are in class! She makesassignment instructions clear, so just read carefully and give her what she asks for, no more, no less! This is a college professor, and not a high school babysitter. If you are looking for a place to slide by, this is not it.

Thorough feedback was given on the graded essays which I greatly appreciated since most college professors give a grade with no insight on how to improve (unless you go to office hours!).

Mrs. Adam makes her students work hard for their grade as college instructors should! I learned a lot about myself taking her class. You will read a lot and attendance is a crucial part of your grade. Study for midterms and finals, because they count big time towards your passing as well. Ask questions, but try to find the answer first.

She is really tough and not for the getting of heart. But for those who run away or don't talk to her I say, chickens. I would have not passed without her help, that said, I have not passed English in 13 years until I took this class. It may be hard but she will help if you have the balls to ask.

Dr. Adams is different. But not the type of different that is bad. She's the most thorough instructor that I have ever had and I can't wait to take another class with her. Sure, there is a lot of work. BUT, she gives GREAT feedback and offers a lot of time outside of class for meeting with her. She might have been tough, but I have learned so much.

Dr. Adams is a fantastic teacher. She requires a lot of reading and substantial participation, so don't expect her classes to be easy. You may need to put in some effort, but you will benefit a lot from her instruction. I am grateful for her instruction because I learned so much about writing. If you get lost, visit her at her office hours.

Let me start out by saying, Pro Adams courses typically are a little more challenging than most, however you actually get something out of the course. She is very clear on what she wants from students and is open to questions if you have any. She clearly cares about the success of students and loves what she teaches. Great English teacher!

1. She is a PhD and head of the department. You have to go through her or you aren't getting through your English degree. 2. She is worked out for your colleges in the past so essentially you're getting a university education add to your college for free. 3.I frequently argue with her point of view or with others and still get As write better.

Participation in each discussion really counts in this class. There is also a lot of reading involved but it is English. I suggest reaching out by phone or visiting Professor Adams on campus if you have any questions. She gives ample time for completion of each essay, so take advantage!

Simply put, Dr. Adams is the best. She's challenging, funny, super smart, and downright awesome. Yes, this class is tough (the hardest English class at Hancock), but you will learn SO MUCH if you invest time and effort. Be ready to put in MANY hours every week. Dr. Adams is amazing but this is not an easy class if you do not care. She puts so much forth in her online class it is as if you are present with her. The online discussion boards can seem long and frivolous but I guarantee that it is easy to keep engaged if you just read and respond early! She's a tough grader but contact her if you need help!

Dr. Adams is the best English professor at Hancock -- quite possibly the BEST professor, period. She engages her students with approachable and sarcastic rhetoric, picks the very best subject matter, gives invaluable feedback, and appreciates each student' point of view and hard work. I enjoy her very much as I know other students do.

Prof. Adams was very responsive to questions. Clear on expectations. Open to conflicting views in class and didn't demand you agree with her. Interactive with students. Introduced a lot of material. If you want an easy class this isn't it. If you want to be pushed, here's your chance. Enjoyed the class overall.

Most of the class is through discussion boards, but they're easy enough if you do the reading. It does take a while to get grades back, which can be a little frustrating. But overall, Adams is really clear with her expectations and grades fairly. She also works with students to pick the midterm assignment and deadline.

Professor Adams presents a well-structured class, uses interesting readings and a good text to support her instruction, and truly cares about the success of her students. If you put in the effort, you will rewarded with a thorough understanding of what it takes to create meaningful and well-organized papers in your future college classes.

I took Ms. Adams' 130 and 131 English Literature courses back-to-back. There is a lot of reading of the great writers in American History. She guides along the way and interacts. She gives true feedback. She presents prompts that make you really consider the material. She's knowledgable and fair, and especially, encourages us. I will miss her

Professor Adams will make you work, but will also push you to be the best student you can be. She grades tough, but is more than willing to spend her time helping outside of class. Honestly, she doesn't grade everything right away. She waits until the end of the semester. She takes days to answer an email. Try to avoid this teacher if possible. Professor Adams is not an easy teacher to take online

Dr. Adams is the best English professor at Hancock. She is so caring and articulate, and provides so many great works of literature to keep students interested and engaged. There is a lot of work and there needs to be a great deal of participation in order to obtain a good grade, but the discussions are so interesting, you'll enjoy yourself.

This English class pushed me beyond my comfort zone and I am grateful. Dr. Adams is super intelligent and gives great feedback if you just ask! This was the hardest class I have ever taken; lots of homework, essays, participation. Despite this being the hardest class I have ever taken, I left grateful because I became a better critical thinker!
