Prof. H is really nice and tries to help you as much as possible. Her exams are pretty good, but she gives you a review sheet that has everything on it anyway. She keeps you the entire class time! Overall, take a class with her.

Prof. Hantzandreou makes time for you before and after class if you need her. She goes by the book and explains things twice if you ask her to. Her review sheets for exams are on the money. You are expected to participate!

Absolutely love this professor. This was an early morning class and I just didn't want to leave her classroom. class blew my world away ,it was an eye opener. Also the professor was very charismatic and had the stamina to stand two hours,i doubt she can bench press 200 pounds but she seems strong and her rotation speed from one side of the room to the other was phenomenal. Overall ill rate her an A-

She tries to act really tough I guess cause she is a young teacher. It's just an intro to sociology..and she takes it way to seriously as if it's a 300 course. Her exams are tricky and not everything that's on the review sheet is on the exam. she's fun but beware. She will make it harder than it really is.

Minimal effort will grant you an A. Encourages participation, sometimes unclear with what she expects you to know, and can word exam questions poorly. Kind woman, cares about her students, but class was mostly spit back, with little to no emphasis on theoretical perspectives, which I found to leave the course lacking and uninformative.

I really like her. She gives the best review sheets. 214 is not a theory class, so she discusses what she needs to for each perspective only. Really gives lots of information, both from the book and media sources.

Classes are very interesting. You will not fall asleep. She loves statistics and you better pay attention and take notes. There are case studies that would open your eyes and would allow you to give your own feedbacks. Her requirements are very clear and she wouldn't give unnecessary stuff to do. The assigned text is very short too.

Great, great, great! I just took this professor for the summer session and it was one of the best decisions I made. She is enthusiastic, clear, detailed and gives great review sheets. Her power point slides are straight to the point. The packet is really cheap ($12) too. I learned a lot and earned an A without stressing out much.

Regarding stats, as the professor mentions herself, they're never 100% accurate. You go according to a credible source but so many surveys are conducted that you come across different percentages sometimes. You would think college students would all realize that. She provides so much detail that you walk out with a lot of information.

Come to class, pay attention, you will do well on the exams. Exams come from her lectures. She's like a straight-forward therapist, so you want to hear what she is saying. I first took deviant behavior, then the family and now family violence. Her course packets are under $20 and very useful.

What I appreciated most about her family violence course was how she delivered the information. She wanted the class to fully understand how serious this topic is and that it is really is part of real life. Also, her final exam review is so specific that even though it's cumulative, you are very prepared. You don't want to miss her lectures.

While it's true her exams come from what she talks about, it is very easy to get a high grade in her class. Her lectures are easy but consist of detail and her reviews are exactly what she wants you to know. If you go to class and pay attention, you will walk out with at least an A-.

I took 2 classes with prof hantz (the family and family violence) both in 2018. Of all the courses I took in college, these were the ONLY ones where I learned something I could use in real life. A must take but you need to be realistic and not live in a world where you believe everything is perfect.

Very informative classes: family violence (SOC 213) deviance and social pathology (SOC 240). There were four tests which werent that difficult if you paid attention in class and take notes. Great class for those who are graduating and getting into counseling.

Ms H was by far one of the most amazing Professor's I've had at Queens College. I took this course in person because I heard she was a great teacher (thanks rate my professor), anyway it was a winter class, but it flew by. She made sitting in class such a pleasure and really would recommend her.

I miss her already! I just completed her family course (winter session) and it was amazing!! There was so much information that helped me understand how important home life and relationship decisions are. It was an inspiring course with an inspirational teacher.

Thought-provoking course. It is very intense, but you get a great understanding of how you are as a person, why others are the way they are and what to look out for. She gives you like three weeks notice as to what you need to prepare for exams. Even though there's so much information, the class is actually easy.

No discussion board, no oral presentations, no research paper. Just 4 exams (inc final) and some in-class responses. The lectures in this class were amazing! Some topics were difficult but all related to the course. I will def be taking her again! Exams essays were not hard at all.

Best class and best professor EVER!!! Her classes were extremely interesting and interactive making each class really enjoyable. graded on 4 tests, 1-3 were just responses to case studies and test 4 which was the final was an easy multiple choice and true/false answers. Easy A, great personality and amazing lectures! absolutely a must take!!

Deeply appreciated how dedicated she was to everyone understanding the material and how it relates to life. Precise in preparing us for exams. No surprises, not difficult, very passionate, great learning experience. Life-changing course.

I love her! Did I mention I love her? I am a dedicated student so I wanted to make sure I would get a good grade. I asked if I could come to her office to review before every exam and she was very willing to review material with me. She also always answered emails pretty fast. We also could use an index card for one of the tests.

I only took this to meet the 120 credit count after finishing my gen ed + major classes. She's very liberal, i'm center-right, yet she still made the class very enjoyable. Learned a lot about greeks lol Truly encompasses what a 101 class should be. Reasonable amounts of introductory knowledge, fair quick exams and lots of interactive discussions.

There are no words to describe how amazing this professor is - very funny, nice, and caring. She makes her lectures very engaging. Up until we had to transition to remote learning, I loved going to each class and never wanted to miss one lecture. I would highly recommend her and would def take her again!

I was afraid of taking online courses but prof. H made it easy to adjust. I have learned so much from her lecture slides which are personal and informative. You have two assignments per week, 3 essay exams and a research paper. You also have to buy a cheap packet. Her class is run very well.

Prof H is a great professor. She has a very clear grading criteria, tells you what topic to focus on for the exams, and answers emails promptly. Her class is very easy to pass as long as you do what is expected of you. I'd highly recommend her.

This is not a hard class. Her discussion board assignments are very interesting and make you think. Make sure you follow her instructions/syllabus and meet deadlines and you will be fine. She replies to email quickly.

Professor Hantzadreou is amazing! Her class is impossible to pass if you do what is required. There are responses (on BB) twice a week, 3 exams, and a short 2-3 page final paper. Very easy class overall.

Professor Hantzandreou is the best sociology professor at QC! She's very easy going - her class isn't difficult, it's very hard to fail (unless you literally don't follow directions on the syllabus. I wish this class was in person but she's fantastic. Any class with her is an easy A. She makes you think and write about interesting topics.

One of the best classes I ever took in Queens College. Professor Katerina really explains everything clearly. If you don't show up you probably won't pass. Show up take notes(never that many notes) and you'll pass. Class is never boring!!

Family Violence is a great class! Prof. Hatzandreou put a really amazing packet together that I will be sure to keep. I learned so much from the case studies. She did a great job instilling the importance of self-esteem and reading between the lines and learning about peoples childhoods.

This professor is reasonable, she gives a clear understanding of what is needed for her class. I would just say DO NOT miss her assignments. She will not take late assignements at all!!!! Unless you have a medical excuse or something, but if you just missed it because you had a lot going on she won't take it. Overral class is easy to pass.

Very straightforward, I loved how structured her class was! Her BB prompts were really interesting and she is very clear on what she wants from you. The only thing was that her tests were a little tricky as the questions were very carefully worded but overall I plan on taking her again :)

This professor is organized and follows her syllabus as presented. You need to follow her instructions and complete work by the due date. If you do that, you will probably get an A. She always sends reminders so it's easy to not fall behind. Do your work and it's an easy A. Don't slack. She's very good with email too.

Great Professor. Since it was online, 2 discussion posts a week answering the question and a few quizzes/exams throughout the semester. An enjoyable class, the professor taught interesting concepts and allows for you to share your opinions on topics. Definitely take her!

Prof. H is excellent. She is very knowledgeable in family violence and provides useful case studies to engage students. There are weekly writing assignments but are easy to complete. She follows her syllabus so make sure you stay up to date and follow all her instructions. She also hands back your work the following class meeting.

Absolutely loved this professor! Not only was her class the only 9 AM I looked forward to, she made the class fun. 3 tests, but the questions were so easy and we did review the class prior. Students finish her tests in 25-30 minutes, just study so you know the terms! Accessible outside class and wants students to use material in personal life. YES!

This professor is all about structure. If you follow all her instructions and meet deadlines, it's smooth sailing. So what this means is, if you know how to be responsible, you will do well.

By far the best professor I've had this semester. She was truly amazing and was very caring of all her students. She makes class enjoyable and tries her best to get to know everyone. No textbook, just a packet you have to buy. She makes class very enjoyable and as long as you pay attention, you'll do great. Exams are very straightforward.

Prof tells lots of stories to apply to whatever the topic of the day is which helps us better understand the information. I really like attending this class. The requirements are doable, you just have to make sure you pay attention to deadlines which are in bold on the syllabus. There's a cheap packet you have to buy and no notetaking.

It's unbelievable how quickly she posts grades. Two to three hours after taking an exam grades are available in Bb. Even our course grades were posted the day of the final! Reviews are given for each test, pay attention in class and there are no concerns. Attendance is important.

I love, love, love, love prof. H! This was a 9:15 AM class and I never missed any lectures! She is very interactive and makes you think. Her exams really do come from her lectures so pay attention. You have to buy a cheap packet that she uses in class. I will definitely take her again!

I LOVE this professor's teaching style. She assigns almost no homework with the occasional discussion post, and her tests reflect the lectures entirely. GO TO CLASS! She makes it so fun and a lot of the material on the test is not in the notes - so listen to her (really interesting) stories. Hoping to take her again!

If you want a great 101 class take Katerina she is funny she cares about her students and you can talk to her in her office or email. She posts all her slides on blackboard, but take notes because there are some things she could say on a slide or verbally that are important for exams. There are 4 exams not too difficult. I took Prof. H three semesters in a row. In each of her classes, she went above and beyond to ensure we learned something new. Her approach to teaching is simple: teaching us something new, applying it to our lives, never doubting ourselves and understanding that people are more similar than they realize. Katerina is one of the best professors I've ever had (I've taken 2 of her classes). She teaches in such an engaging way that you feel the need to show up to her classes more than others. She is hilarious and her personality makes the class a fun and easy experience. I highly recommend you take her even if it's not required.

I also had her for The Family (214). Wish she taught more courses. She is so funny but also teaches. I also love how you don't need a textbook! She prints out all the readings we'll go over during the semester in class in advance. She's super caring too. If you need help with something, she's always there.

She's a great professor if you want to actually learn about sociology. Don't take her if you despise group work and socializing in class. 3 Exams one of them open book and one final. 25$ textbook(Tests not hard). Attendance not mandatory but you will miss lots of info. As this is the second time I am taking a course with Professor H, I can say that she is amazing with returning things in a VERY timely manner. She believes that students should know how they perform and not have to wait longer than necessary. She also sticks to her syllabus. Straightforward and helpful during office hours.

To be honest, this is not a hard class at all. You def learn but you are not stressing over the fact that it's a w course. The lectures are interesting and some of the information even shocks you. She breaks down the writing aspect so that you feel like you don't have too much on your plate. Overall, excellent option for writing intensive elective.

This was an excellent summer course! Prof. Katerina is always prepared and provides lots of beneficial information. Her personal stories are important because there's meaning behind them and connect to some concept in the course. The readings are uploaded into the modules. Attendance is mandatory and the review sheets are remarkable.
