Wonderful teacher! If I could take her for more than one class,I would. If you want a nice teacher and an easy grade, this is the class to take. Wonderful!
Easy tests. Easy speeches. Pretty laid back atmosphere. Its an easy "A". I personally didn't like her. She didn't seem very professional to me. Always talked about drinking and going to bars.
Very easy class, just make sure you do the little assignments. They do add up. Didn't really like her personality, but her class was very easy.
Easy A, but annoying, because there was talk about drinking all the time, I would appreciate if there was a divider between teacher and student
I did not like her at all. She gives the stupidest assignments and she is very rude. She goes through anything she teaches far too quickly to understand. You never know what exactly she wants and doesn't make things clear or understandable. Not a good teacher and very unprofessional.
Easy A. She likes to talk about her self a lot, but it is ammusing. Grades speeches easily. The group culture project is graded a bit harder. Just do the work and study before tests to get an A. She gives about 60 bonus points. Take her!!
Didn't really appear to know what she was doing. Very unprepared. Very unclear on the assignments.
I really liked her class. Be original with your speech topics and you'll do great. I loved her! She was very talkative and is good with bonus points!
I have never taken the time to rate anyone before. As time has gone by I realize that I still hate this teacher. She is very stuck on herself, not helpful, rude, hard to understand. Her personality makes going to class a dreaded chore. She was my second "B" in my college experience (the first was my freshman year, Theman Taylor... enough said).
I loved this class! You have to have a sense of humor to like this class.. Really easy! Only have to give 2-3 main speeches.. tests aren't bad either! Would recommend her to everyone!
I highly recommend her. She doesn't care if you show up late. One guy in my class showed up about 10 minutes before class was over and she still counted him present. She grades speeches REALLY easy, and she doesn't make you do many of them. She's also really easy to get along with.
Very cool teacher...pretty funny, talks casually with students, makes people feel more comfortable, which is important in a speech class. Doesn't grade very hard and seems to like giving A's.
TAKE THIS TEACHER!!! She is funny and talks about anything. She is super easy but makes you love her class. She treats students as friends.
Ms. Bray is so cool. She really relates to the students and shes not afraid to say what she thinks. i liked her a lot... shes funny and always has a good story to tell. take her.. shes awesome
Class was fun and usually let out after 20 min. Tests were a breeze. They were usually opinion based and repeat of hw assignments. Gave three speeches and 1 group project(create own culture) and an intercultural interview. Loves movies and hw usually involved watching one. Get on her good side. Volunteer to be speech timer.
Good teacher and knows what she is talking about.
Professor Bray was an awesome teacher. She made the class enjoyable. Only have to give two speeches individually and then one group speech. Hardly ever keeps class the whole time. You get out early almost every day. Take her, you'll be happy you did!
I loved Ms. Bray!! I had so much fun in her class. I loved the group discussions that our class always got in. You only give 2 speeches--but TURN IN YOUR OUTLINE THE DAY ITS DUE EVEN IF YOU DONT GIVE YOUR SPEECH THAT DAY!!! Also, there's a group presentation and the final is a 1 minute minimum impromtu speech. :) Beware: she likes LSU! :( GO HOGS!
She talks fast! She's really nice and will work with you. I reccomend her highly! I had a great time in her class.
Fun, easy teacher. Very laid back.
great class,, not stressful, fun way to learn communication. gives 3 take home tests, 2 speeches, 1 group presentation to create your own culture. just fun atmosphere and no stress! take her! :)also gives lots of bonus points :)
she is great! easy A!
She comes across as very rude, but she isn't. She doesn't believe is 100s bc she feels as though noone is perfect. HOWEVER, you have the opportunity to earn over 100 bonus points. You must do every speech to pass. There are only 3. Attend class everyday and you will be fine. All tests are take home.
personally i hate public speaking but she made it very easy and laid back. i loved this class! take it in the summer it's only 5 weeks and it's better to get it over with! super nice, very helpful and understanding. actually made speech fun! would take her again. only give 2 speeches super easy!
Horrible teacher. Unclear about assignments!!! Very rude. Very egotistical. Always talks about herself, her dogs and her boyfriend. I haven't learned ANYTHING. NOT an easy A! Picks favorites. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. Does not make you feel comfortable for speeches AT ALL. Rolls her eyes at people even during speeches. Gives horrible rude looks.
She's an awesome teacher! I really didn't want to take this class, but she made it fun. It was an easy A, take her.
She's a really fun teacher! I'm not really into talking in front of people a lot, but she lightens it up for everyone to be more open and have fun. I will enjoy this class.
TAKE HER she is an easy A... assignments are creative. favorite teacher so far out of 11 classes
She is very nice and fun. Only 2 major speeches and a group presentation. An easy A as long as you do everything, even if you are shy or hate speaking in front of people.
Take her! Extremely fun teacher, understands the college life style, and oral communication. Do the work and prepare for the presentations and you will have an A.
Take this teacher! I absolutely hate public speaking and I couldn't have taken a better teacher for that. Only two main speeches and the final is an impromptu speech. She gives a lot of bonus points. Class is also very laid back and fun. You always get out early.
Love her! One of the most, down to earth professors I have had so far! Absolutely enjoyed her class and I am terrified of speaking in front of people. She makes things so fun! 2 formal speeches.
Good teacher and really cool! Material is easy, but actually made me a better public speaker! Take her!!!!!!
Mrs. Bray is so awesome! The work is really easy and the projects/speeches are remotely interesting. But don't slack off! You need to go to class because there is a lot of in-class work. The days that she lectures are boring, but most of the time the class is fun. Take her!
Ms. Bray is alright. She just grades speeches harder as the year goes on. A lot of out of class busy work. Don't miss class or speech days (you get -25 points for missed speech days).Everything is on Blackboard which is nice.
One Word AWESOME! I love Ms.Bray she is very helpful & sweet. You really only use the book for mid-terms & Finals. GO TO CLASS or you will miss out!If you can take this class! Easy General Ed. Class!
Loved her! You only use the book for the mid-terms and final. It wasn?t quite the easy A I hoped for because she keeps you busy with assignments but you won?t regret taking her! She gives you lots of chances for points and makes class enjoyable with different exercises! My favoirte class this semester!
Ms. Bray was pretty cool. You have an intro speech the first two weeks of class, then a group speech, an info. and a pers. speech. She grades the last one hardest, but are all pretty easy, & also gives other small point assignments that you mostly get credit for if you do them. The midterm and final use the terms in the book, common sense stuff.
I love Ms. Bray! She's so sassy and funny. She helped create a really friendly atmosphere in the class which helped when it was time to give speeches...which there are 5 of (if I remember right). None of the speeches have to be super long and you can choose your own topics. I definitely recommend her.
She is a wonderful teacher!!! Her class is not hard at all. You really don't have to use the book. The only time it is needed is for exams. I didn't do good on the exams, but I still made an A. The main thing for the class is the speeches. The speeches are not hard at all. I would retake her if I could.
Ms. Bray's Basic Oral Communication class was easy enough but I hated every minute of it. She talks about herself a lot and doesn't seem to have a passion for communication, which was odd to me, considering that is her chosen field. You will not need a textbook if you have common sense (she also gives notes most classes that cover everything).
Very Easy Class, She is very helpful. Only 3 speeches and she grade the last one the hardest. 2 tests (midterm and final) and no quizzes. You need to take her for Oral Comm!!!
TAKE MS. BRAY! This is the easiest speech class, and I absolutely hate speech! No tests, and the final is an impromptu speech: "What's your favorite holiday". All you have are two speeches and some group presentations. Very easy Gen Ed. But you definitely need to still go to class. You get out early a lot.
I really liked her class. Lectures were interesting and normally we got out early. You could miss like 6 times in a semester and you had intro speeches for extra, easy points. She gave a LOT of hw assignments though. They weren't difficult, just time consuming, especially the farther into the semester we went. you don't need the book
She uses a sign-in sheet, lectures ok. Not heavy book use but you do need it I think. Great class to take in the summer, goes fast and some assignments are shorter. Hate the group work though...
She gives so much work to do in such a short period of time. 3 speeches, 1 group presentation, and 4 impromptu speeches. Her class is ok, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Easy, easy, easy. She's so chill and laid back, but still lectures well. She covers everything that is on the tests, and if you study even a little bit, tests are NOT hard to pass. Group work sucks, but that's something you get in a lot of classes. I recommend her. She's always willing to help when it is needed, and she grades fairly!
Dr. Bray's class was very open and comfortable. I loved the methods she used and she is well liked by most if not all of her students. The only thing is, she can sometimes talk to fast and doesn't go over things in much depth.
I hate speech! She wasn't a bad teacher, but I felt like she expected a little too much from a general education course. Speeches weren't bad! Just memorize them as much as you can to get a good grade. Tests were kind of tough for me, but I didn't study much...
She uses a sign-in sheet, lectures ok. Heavy book use because you have to take a quiz over the chapter before the class. Hate the group work it is tougher than it seems.
Professor Bray creates lectures that are interesting to listen to and uses relatable examples for students to follow along. All of her assignments are very straight forward. Expect to give 2 speeches (5minutes) and impromptu speeches every couple of weeks (1-2 sentences). I highly recommend this class.
She was funny and sarcastic but a her tests were kinda tough. There's a quiz over every chapter and you have to give a few speeches and do a group project or two. Not too bad, I just thought the class was boring. Got out of class a little early most days. She will expect you to bring donuts for the class if you're more than 15 minutes late
Have weekly online, timed 10 minute quizzes for every chapter. Have an 8 page paper and many speeches/presentations. Does not like to give A's even to the best of presenters. Made an 89 on a paper and she couldn't tell me a thing that was wrong and I've taken 3 years of college writing. Never have tests until the final that every com class takes.
I don't like speech/oral comm but Prof Bray is pretty cool. She lets you out early a lot. She uses a sign-in sheet. The group project is huge and it sucks, but it's definitely doable. She gives you a lot of wiggle room to make the assignments cool and interesting. Speeches aren't bad and the book is only used the first couple of weeks.
Uses a flipped classroom and basically just goes over the slides you already watched. Never gives As on speeches. Small 10 minute quizzes each week. Personally she is a nice woman and incredibly funny. She uses a sign in sheet. Lots of group work, so beware if that isn't your thing. Ultimately the class isn't hard, but expect to get a B.
She's a good professor. Her lectures are interesting and you'll have a good time in the class.
She is a one of the good professor I had. She grades according to your progress. Be aware of quizes.
Only 2 presentations, one is a group and one is alone. We had 0 tests throughout the semester, it was fun up until we got to the final and didn't know what to study. Has attendance sheet. You only use the textbook for the access code. There are weekly online assignments, not hard though. Very sweet and tries to get you to know one another.
Easy class but hardly gives As on speeches.
Only one test, but doesn't usually give A's on speeches.
This professor was one of the most fun professors I've ever had. We only had one test which was the final and it was easiest test to take. Just show up to class and you will get a good grade. She makes the material interesting. She is a good professor, and you should take her.
I took her online class. Not helpful, seems very annoyed by all questions and concerns, the hardest grader I have ever had in my life. I did make an A but was constantly having to question how she graded because it always seemed unfair and unreasonable. Do NOT take this class.
The group project is horrible. The first half of the class has a very heavy workload and then after the first two months the workload becomes much lighter. Only two formal presentations, she grades easier on those who present first. Lots of small group work most classes. Overall, this class sucks. But the professor is nice and fair in my opinion.
Her online summer comm1300 was great. For speeches we had to record a video & submit. We didn't zoom. We had to write a blog or record a vlog and you would have to reply to other students. The topics for the vlogs are about life experiences. The online class to take if you have speech anxiety. Although it was online I did learn communication skills
bray isn't the best prof, kinda rude/blunt/boring. never answered any of my emails and anytime i asked a question in class she was pretty rude. class itself is fine, not too hard not easy. we recorded our 2 speeches. you have multiple readings/quizzes every week but the material is super easy. i won't take her again but couldve been worse
Well, the class wasn't hard but the material is really boring, and Bray doesn't really make the class interesting. She's pretty boring but at least the class is easy
took principles of comm w/her. has a very dry personality and can come off kind of rude, but shes just snarky with questions and things like that. you have GOT to go to class. at the end of the semester she put in about 150 points worth of participation for showing up. no tests except final. quizzes every week, wont reset after due. 3 speeches
I did not like her teaching style. She was very disorganized and wouldn't tell us something was due until a few days before it was due. It felt like there would be random assignments pop up out of nowhere. Basic material. Easy A but I think she made it harder than it had to be just because of how disorganized it was
this class is boring enough, and professor bray makes it so much worse. she is very boring and I swear she teaches with melatonin. she is also very rude for no reason. she will not remind you about assignments, so pay attention to the syllabus. this class is easy enough though. take another professor if you can
The class is easy, but it's true that she tells us about assignments 2 days before it's due. They're in the syllabus though, so she expects you to already know and gets mad when you act surprised. There are quizzes every 2 weeks on the textbook website, but I just used quizlet for all of them. She'll never give an A+. I got an A from 15 quizzes.
She was a great professor. She made it clear what she expected in her class. The speeches can be difficult but you can't procrastinate or she'll be able to tell. She was a very very good professor.
Professor Bray is unorganized and gives zero feedback on assignments and speeches. Anytime she takes off points she never explains why or suggest ways to improve. Instructions for any assignment are extremely vague and she introduces every assignment at the beginning of the year and expects you to remember to do them on time. Take someone else.
She is an amazing professor! You can get extra credit just by submitting proof that you are a registered voter. Be prepared to speak in class and be thrown into random groups at the end of the lecture. Lots of projects and quizzes. Kahoots most days before she starts her lecture.
She made her class unnecessarily hard and if you miss quizzes she doesn't allow you to make it up. She doesn't really give A's easy on projects. She introduces projects while you are busy working on another one of her projects. There is a pretty large workload as well. The final isn't easy either especially for a comm class.
This class is very project and information heavy, but Professor Bray is incredibly lenient and understanding. She is super personable and and made the hour and 15 feel like 30 min, as long as you participated with your classmates. Just turn in your presentations and weekly quizzes on time, go to class, be involved with the CWC, and you'll be fine.
Bray was a good professor. There were lots of assignments and different group things. There is only one test and it is the final. Get ready to present. She has clear rubrics but does not give 100s on anything, there are always some points taken off. Her class wasn't miserable and she gets back to you quickly.
If you ever wanted a teacher that is very blunt and witty, its Dr Bray. I loved her and our class loved talking to her about things. The quizzes were a bit annoying cause there was nothing to remind you to take them and there wasn't a consistent schedule. However, she was easy and the most you have to do is prep a speech, and she is understanding.
I would recommend taking Bray for communications because there are no exams, just little quizzes and then the final! Easy class just be sure to be very precise in outlines. She was so funny!!
COMM 1305 - This was an honors course, and I enjoyed it, but it was a lot of work, and it got a bit overwhelming at times. However, Ms. Bray is *extremely* understanding if you need extensions on papers and other assignments. She's lenient on deadlines without excuses, but if you need an extension, she'll give you one. Doesn't respond to emails.
She is very clear about expectations for assignments. Besides small online quizzes, no exams besides the final. Be prepared to talk in class, lots of short impromptu speaking. She is very lenient about due dates and allows you to resubmit things.
I've never been so confused in a class before. Mrs bray is very funny as a professor but she will give you assignments with zero guidance and won't elaborate when you ask for help. She would also grade very harshly and when you ask about your score she would be very dismissive and wouldn't tell you where you lost points so you can't grow.
Mrs. Bray is a very nice person, but she counts off on everything, and you will rarely get feedback on what you are counted off for. She does give easy extra credit assignments and the homework she drops like half of them. She also does not give very clear instructions for assignments, so make sure you ask for clarity. Overall, she was good though.
Professor Bray is fantastic––her lectures are easy to understand, and her class is very interactive (I would say that's a plus, given the material). One thing to keep in mind is that she does not tell you what you got points off for on assignments (but if you ask her for feedback, she'll give it to you).
