A good teacher, helpful, interesting and seems interested in student succeeding. Would not mind having her for another class but I think she only lectures up to 103 level. My biggest concern is she seems to grade easy, I had a 5 page essay that I wrote 3 pages of basically the night before but still got an A I'm not sure I deserved.

YES YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOKS and assigned readings and its some tough reading sometimes but she helps you understand them in class. Dr. Boutry was very thoughtful and would send motivational announcements. I enjoyed the readings and I would definetely recommend this professor if you want to take an English course. Honestly compared to other English courses and classes I have taken, there was not much writing. Plus her papers were very small, 4 pages at most.

Dr. Boutry is very competent and very fun. Her English classes do not feel like chores as often as most other courses I've taken. She grades relatively easy on papers, which bothers me a bit sometimes when I try very hard, and find that someone else works less yet scores equally. A great learning experience for ENG majors; she is also a babe. ;)

I took the 8 week online accelerated course and it was rigorous. One assignment, 7 discussions, 4 quizzes , Midterm, Final paper and Final exam. Manage your time and you will be fine. Use The West Guide to Writing for help in essay writing. Boutry is clear on assignments and gives good feedback. I recommend you take English 103 with Boutry.

Very easy class just stay on top of your due dates! I honestly didn't get an A because of two assignments i didn't turn in my own fault. You can PM her and in less than 24 hrs you'll have an answer.

Professor Boutry is the best choice to be teaching Shakespeare. She integrates her own college experience into the class and makes it so that the students have fun participating. You read a play almost every two weeks, and there are three papers. Quizzes are super easy if you've done the readings.

There is a lot of reading, but there are many helpful cites like shakespeare translation on spark notes which makes it easier to follow along. There is a quiz every class based on the play you had to read. Pretty easy if you did the reading. As long as you read the plays you will most likely get an A in the class.

The BEST professor I've had. I loved the literature we read as well as the class discussions. There was never a dual moment. She is really down to earth and passionate about literature. There are weekly quizzes that do require reading and a few essays throughout the semester. She is available and approachable if anyone needs help!

I absolutely hate english, I've never been a fan and I despise writing papers BUT I REALLY ENJOYED PROF. BOUTRY'S COURSE. The readings were intriguing (which was surprising) and her lectures were very clear. She is not a tough grader and does provide feedback. This is one of those courses that I was just taking to finish but I learned a lot.

I never enjoyed an English class as much as I enjoyed Dr. Boutrys class. You must do your readings to receive a good grade but all her readings are very interesting. 5wk class, easy, a lot of reading however very fun! Homework classwork/homework; acceptable amount not a lot. Always available, respond promptly to emails. The grading and syllabus are pretty straightforward and clear. You will have no confusion on anything.

I took Dr. Boutry's online English 103 Summer course. It was fast-paced with a lot of material, but the readings and assignments were interesting and thought-provoking. Two essays, two books, a number of assignments and quizzes seemed like a lot, but overall it was very doable.

She's very nice I enjoyed reading the Bluest Eye but Radical Remission was weird. A few essays were assigned but she gives enough time. I only used the textbook for a few articles that were in there, if you know the basics of an English class and can find the articles online you won't need the textbook.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, responds to emails on time, caring is a perfect description, homeworks are straightforward, there are also lectures which can help a lot, and she basically made online learning just as good as offline, extra credit, possible honors, everything, she'll help you with, perfect professor IMO.

I had a decent experience in her class. If you're an English major I would say she is a good pick. So far out of all my classes so far she has put in the most effort. Every week there is a new discussion board in which you have to write according to the prompt. Then reply to two other student's posts. Final project wasn't that hard for me.

I did an online screenwriting class. She was very motivational and inspirational. It helped me stay on track in such a short term class. I am now motivated to finish my screenplay and attend her next screenwriting classes. It is a different discipline to regular English. I really enjoyed it and learned alot.

Even though I took it during the second summer session the course did not feel heavy or rushed. The rubrics are clearly stated and participation/effort is considered when assignments are graded. I took Boutry's English 127 screenwriting course. It was a great experience. I've never written anything creative before so I was quite intimidated. The text "Save the Cat" made writing a screenplay simple and achievable. Boutry gave great feedback and was very reasonable about the workload. Would 100% recommend this class.

This professor is a master at online instruction, leaving additional resources and recorded lectures which are easy to follow. All plays/works are available free online. Professor LaTourrette is easy to reach out to as well as understanding.

Prof. LaTourrette's screenwriting class was so good! She is incredibly supportive, and you can tell she cares a lot about helping students understand materials and what's expected. I was new to screenwriting but really enjoyed the process and found it a valuable, creative experience. It pushed me into a different headspace, and I'm grateful to Dr. Latourrette for sharing her knowledge. I hope others have the chance to take this course in the future.
