Good teacher so far. Tests and projects are fair.
She was the easiest professor this semister. Grades are generous, though quizzez every week to ensure reading. Do the reading and get an Easy A. Essay questions are given BEFORE the exam.
Very nice teacher, grades subjectively. Only tests are midterm and final, which are mostly short answer & essays, but she gives you outlines of the tests beforehand.
How can any one pay attention with gams like those! Hi Kaffy!
Professor Pence is one of the sweetest, nicest, and helpful teachers at Baruch! She even gave me her cell phone number so that I could call her whenever I had a question/needed assistance! Very very nice person! Thanks for the great class!
She is really subjective, and doesn't have much experience( assistant teacher). Her statements are a little obvious. She treats students like they are fourth graders, which can get pretty annoying sometimes. She basically will state the obvious.Boring!
Lectures most of the time are interesting. However, she gives you SO much material to study. She probably thinks history is the only course you are taking, and you have nothing else to do but study. Also, she asks for participation in class discussions.
A LOT OF READINGGGG & A QUIZZ EVERY WEEK. SHE PORBABLY THINKS THAT HISTORY IS THE ONLY CLASS A STUDENT IS TAKING.
gives so much reading and a quiz every monday. class is very boring and like others said thinks this is the only class you are taking. tests cover so much material but aren't too hard. wants way to much from students.
Although the weekly quizzes can become annoying, they keep you on with the reading. This professor expects lots of work from her students and might seem to believe that her class is our only one. Yet, she is very organized, on-track, and grades fairly.
She's the nicest teacher and grades very fairly. You DO have to read a lot to do well. But her lectures are good.. and shes very helpful.
reallyy cool...learn alot and you can gett good grades. learned some interesting stufff
you do learn a lot but the work is overwhelming. She expects you to read an average of 50 pages every week and then gives quizes. I would not expect this much work in a history class(and im the last person you would deem lazy).
Not the greatest teacher, but she's very nice and a good grader. A lot of reading, but still recommended.
She is not the best professor, but she is very easy. Some reading, but you can get around the reading. Tests are a lot of writing, but nothing too difficult.
She's a great professor. She is extremely organized, grades fairly, and gives back everything at a normal rate. She makes you read alot but then again who doesnt? Her lectures are very interesting and helpful. She quizzes you every week but its easy.
She is very nice, give's you lots of ways for you to make up grades and pass. Knows how to teach and tries to make class interesting. Very good teacher it may be boring if you are not in to history, but very easy to pass.
OK the vibe she gives off is she is not comforatable infront of the classes. its a 120 person class and she gets distracted everytime someone uses the bathroom. Tests cover so much material that if u study just some stuff u will get an A. Reading was BAD
60 pages per week to read quiz every monday 2 midterms one final gives extra credit , very helpful, if u can read all those pages choose her
not too hard, but BORING. my entire row sleeps through the entire class and sometimes i join. you don't need to listen to her, just read the book and you will do fine.
She's very nice and grades pretty lenietly. You do have to read but not more than 30pgs a week. Lectures can be boring sometimes but I think she's pretty great. She's also personable and easy to approach. Willing to help students.
Great professor, she may seem like shes new and sounds nervous but shes teachs important lessons and you must make sure to listen and read because she quizs every week. Just read the hand outs for each chapter review so you can get read for the quizes. Overall, she is nice and her midterms are easy.
There is a lot of reading and a bunch of quizzes and midterms (and the final) but it really helps. She makes the class interesting.
do the reading and get an A or A-
nice prof. not difficult, but a lot of reading weekly.
so much readings. she's too organized it's scary. quizes every week, hard exams(all in short answer or essay forms, i hate that)but not a hard grader. take her class if you're interested in history and really want to learn otherwise she'll bore you.
Lots of readings, quizzes in the early part of the week, 10 questions each. If you get the jist of the reading you will do fine. 3 tests, all essays. give lots of details about 50 years before and after your topic and make sure to hit every detail and you will be fine. RIDICULOUSLY ORGANIZED THOUGH!
SHES VERY EASY BUT I NKOW MY MATERIAL IN HISTORY. I ENDED UP WITH AN A-.. VERY HARD TO GET AN A BECAUSE I HAD THE CREDENTIALS FOR IT.
She is MAD EASY. she tells you wats gonna be on the test. she explains everything clearly and in lamens terms. i love her. take her if u want an A and dont mind reading. MAD EASY!
very difficult
Only thing I have to say is that she gives tons of reading, quizzes every Monday (10 questions) each. It seems easy but it's not. 2 midterms (3 essays in each). She's WEIRD and a compulsive organizer.Oh, and too hyper.
Easy class, just a lot of reading and quizes, Sometimes I just want to shoot myself!
easy grader. there are lots of reding which make you loose your hair , but her class is worth taking . I've never seen anybody got below B ( in case of not to submit a ter-paper you will get B)
Has disgusting political views which she thrusts upon her students. :(
After I took this class with her, I didn't regret taking it. She's strict and can be funny (professional). Alot of readings per week. She gives quizzes every 2 study sheets. She gives extra credit opportunities to get rid of bad quiz grades. And she drops the lowest quiz grade. Pay attention and keep up with the readings.
great prof! lots of reading, lots of quizess, but good grader!
She's a sweatheart. He class was very fun. I learned a lot. I got into the habbit of reading for my other classes as well. BIG THANKS girl! Exams are very long and time can be a problem sometimes. study review sheets 105% and you will get an A- and participate a little. Go to extra credit. Great CLS
She is defintely a great professor. She is really nice and easy. Yes, she makes you read a lot but her tests and quizes are very easy. Definetly do all 3 extracredits. She is very sweet and helpful, and anyone who says that she's hard are just lazy.
Test can be pretty hard if you don't pay attention in every lecture with the documents and powerpoint pictures. Doing the weekly reading is a must because you get quiz once a week (DONT come late on that day). If you know some history this class may be very boring unless you like history alot and like to participate in history stuff. Xtra crd helps
she grades fairly, but a lot of reading. Recommened if u favors reading and like history
she is one of the best professors at baruch. very knowledgable, very helpful and understanding. yes it is alot of reading, but if you take good notes and go onto blackboard and get the let=ctures you wont even have to read that much!!!! this is for all the history lovers out their- she is amazing
Great Prof! Lots of quises, but they r easy, she gives a lot of extra credit works... Very good grader.. The easieast prof to get an A!
Its not that easy to get an A here but I did it.Just write good essays on the midterm and final (to do that you really have to know your stuff). She drops the lowest quiz grade(11 quizzes)but they are easy if you read the book. The way she teaches is unique in that she shows only pictures and discusses them(good class participation)but its effective.
Though originally I am somewhat Global History freak myself, Professor Pence kept the subject matter simple enough for the students to understand it well. The pictures and photos greatly enhanced the learning atmosphere which I find very helpful and interesting. And I agree on her teaching methods, history should not be viewed just through words.
can be relatively easy, but only if you do not fall behind. quiz every monday to make sure you keep up and plenty of xtra creds to make up for bombed quizzes, so you shouldn't do too badly if you just READ. there's a lot of material.. but that's not her fault. she's a good professor.. there's just a lot to cover so pay attention!
she was great just show up and pay attention nice easy grader, you will like her
Her class is easy in terms of grading. But it's no joke with the readings. There a lo and I do mean A LOT of reading...Most of it is not too bad. I would say studying what she tells you for the exams is key to doing well :-) She has a great sense of humor and her class was fun
I just remember taking her for a 3000 level course. She's so insightful and willing to help anyone. There are alot of reading but she doesn't expect us to read everything word for word, just understand the readings and main points of it. She grades very fairly, almost easy. If I remember correctly, I had one midterm, final, and a term paper.
Very nice person, fun to be in class with. Easy grader. Just do the work and be honest. An A is easily attainable with this professor if you participate, and make an effort. GL!
Great teacher, you have to do the reading because she gives quizzes based on it. If you keep up with the readings you will do fine. Fun class gives extra credit. Take her if shes available
Easy A. exams might seem hard but very generous with her grading. hate history btw and I'm horrible at it, but going to her class helped me learn something despite my hatred for history. I enjoyed participating + she's very nice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Prior knowledge of history unnecessary. She hates failing people. Lowest she really gives is a C.
Professor Pence is very nice to students and tries really hard to teach students history. She hates it when you try to leave early though. This is NOT an easy A, maybe a B but you pretty much have to read the whole book for the quizzes or powerpoint slides for the long essay based midterm and final. Quiz every week.
All you need to do is come to class, listen and pay some attention to the power points. Participation kind of helps. Read the text book for the weekly quizzes, but they should be ok. Midterm and final are ok as long as you payed some attn during the year. It helps to know specific events and some dates for the exams. The commodities are part of exam
She seems to be a very nice person. But she thinks that history is the only subject you need to study, you will feel like you are majoring in history. She doesn't fail anybody, but if you want to get a good grade you will work at least 10 hours before each class. REALLY difficult class, and this professor makes it even more difficult.
She is a fairly good professor who tends to get a little boring during her lectures. This class is based on the textbook and you will rarely find yourself studying your notes for the quizzes or the exams. Participation is a huge part of your grade even though there is about 250 in the class and it can get intimidating at times.
Take this professor if you want to get a B or higher, however if you actually want to learn something take another professor. She basically lets the students teach the class and lectures are straight from the book which you must read for the quizzes. Assigned seating is somewhat of a joke, absolutely if you don't like the person sitting next to you
This class is really really hard. she makes you read the textbook and expects you to remember it word for word. quizzes every week and midterm, final. you pretty much have to read the whole textbook. if u enjoy history this is a good class you learn a lot.
I have to honest. I almost hated her in the beginning, but now I am so happy that I took this class. You will really learn history, not dates and names that you'll forget the next year, but important processes in history that will help you to understand today. If you want to be an intelligent person - take her.
Her quizzes are hard, you should read everything from the book, but the exams are really easy. Basically, she will ask you almost all possible questions for the entire semester and you will be able to choose any question you want for answering. Pay attention to the pictures that you discuss in class, they will be in the exam.
you have to work alot in her class. form my friends i came to know that i was the only one who was doing so much stuff for her class while they were having fun in other sections. really after taking her i think i can minor in history. with so much work you will learn alot, not dates but all the events happened in the history. Her 11quizes were hard.
She is very good prof. She knows a lot not at easy class have to read for every class and every weels you gonna have a m/c test which is 30% of the grade very helful for the midterm and the final you if you go to her class u gonna be ok
Professor Pence is a great teacher. She tries hard to reach out to the students but her lectures can get boring every now and then. Just participate also, do the reading cause she has weekly quizzes on them. Her tests and papers are pretty straight forward as long as you know what you're writing about. She is a very sweet and nice person as well.
Do it yourself course. She does teach but you learn more if you ask her questions and read on your own. 2 midterms. 10 quizzes. 1 final. 2 extra credits. A lot of work but with enough weekly effort its easy to get an A
She's such a cruel person. She literally made me cry in class. She is a harsh grader and doesn't know how to teach. I'm so upset with this class. I might transfer out of Baruch because of it
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. She is so boring. My goodness. She gives a pop quiz every week and 3 midterms. She is TERRIBLE.
Great professor. Very organized, follows syllabus... Kind of felt like I was back in HS. She's a great transitional teacher. All of my other professors were sort of, "whatever," she cares for her students like a HS teacher does. The work isn't hard, you just have to dedicate yourself & keep up with the reading :)
She's not a harsh grader or cruel as mentioned below. She gives a lot of reading (30-50 pages a week), and a 10-question quiz on the stuff every week. Very nice person. Exams require a lot of memorization, but she's fair at grading. Recommended only if you're willing to work hard for a good grade. I got an A, so it's possible.
She goes hard over attendance. Has a quiz every week which adds up to your final grade. Quizzes come straight out of the textbook. Though she can be behind in her lessons at times. Class is kinda boring unless your into history.
I beg of you to stay away from her. She is by far the worst professor of all time.
Please Stay Away. I had to withdraw from this class. Total waste of my time and money. Do yourself a favor and steer clear.
Very nice. Fair grader. Pretty cute. 10-question quizzes every week on 40+ pages worth of stuff. Midterms require memorizing entire chapters. Doesn't let students use the bathroom cause seeing people stand up gives her ADD or something. Recommended if you like history and are willing to read a lot--and I mean a lot.
WOW-- I'm really surprised by the great deal of praise this teacher has here. She is horrible, not understanding, and swamps students with work. She might be the WORST professor baruch. Take her at your own risk.
Seriously I dont know what I am learning so far. She is boring. The problem I think she has is that she is too systematic. Like why not make it fun or make it easier for us to learn? I feel like self learning and she expects us to read everything before she talks about it. If you think you are a bookworm, go ahead and take her.
The class is extremely boring. Way borrrriinnngggg we all just sleep through it or play games on our laptops
Really EASY class and REALLY good professor. Knows her stuff and is always prepared with material. Take her class.
Highly recommended IF you can read the textbook normally every week and before the two exams. She takes weekly quizzes and gives study sheets for the exams. They should be easy if you have studied the textbook. Her classes are pretty boring and you don't need to pay attention to get an A.
Professor Pence is brilliant. She is a little standoffish but she is the chair of the department. Yeah you have to study for the exams and there is a lot of information but you get a lot of leeway in what you want to focus on for the exams. I remember her curving the exams and really helping out students. I didn't work too hard and received a B.
She is very harsh. Has a attitude with about everything. Should be not teahing or near people. Could not wait for class to end.
Highly recommended. Takes weekly quizzes and has two tests. They are very easy if you read the book regularly. The lectures are good but not as useful for tests and quizzes. Overall, nice professor and easy A/A-.
Very good professor. Interacts with students and make the material interesting. Doesn't make it more complicated than it is. Quizzes every Monday so you have to do the readings.
she is not good at all her exams are too hard, she gave quiz every Monday and you have to read the textbook as much as you can.
At first it seems like she gives you way too many readings but you really only need to pay attention in class and the quizzes are pretty intuitive. Almost everyone did good on the mid term; she's a great grader
I was in a small class of 15 people with Pence. Pence is very calm and passionate about what she teaches. You don't have to read all of her textbook notes, but you should skim over them. She does go over it during class.
She's the department head and it shows in her knowledge of her subject, but it doesn't get to her head. She says she doesn't like people going to the bathroom during class but she forgets about that pretty soon so dw.
She's an okay professor, considering she curves your grade and she gives you a lot of extra credit opportunities. A lot of her info comes from the textbook so make sure you read. She can go off topic and cause the class to be behind. Also a slow grader, so you'll get your grades back in a month.
One of the nicest professors that I had this semester. She came on strong but shes an excellent professor. Is very accommodating. Be prepared for a quiz every week and you must do the readings or else you won't pass. Not too many exams, but be prepared for class. Likes to have a lot of class discussions. Overall, amazing professor! Be ready to work
Pretty sure she'll be changing the curriculum, but she was very easy for my semester. Felt like she was too lenient with my block. Loved that she was caring and she has a great passion for history, but it's not my strong topic and I did not learn as much as I probably should have. No textbook needed because she printed packets every class.
She goes hard over attendance. Has a quiz every week which adds up to your final grade. Quizzes come straight out of the textbook (they are not easy). Though she can be behind in her lessons at times. The class is kinda boring unless you're into history.
Get ready to read, 50-200 pages per week. And do one 10 page paper and 6 other 2-4 page essay and present 3 times and other random assignments and discuss/ participate and read 3 books
Prepare to read A LOT. Considering most of your work comes from reading, it is exhausting to do when you have 4-5 other classes. Also, final research paper of your topic; about 10-12 pages so get ready to stress for that too.
You must do the readings she assigns because she gives quizzes every week. She is also very heavy on lateness. If you pay attention in class and read the book, it should be easy for you on the exams.
1-2 quizzes each week on textbook readings, but teaches what was on the quiz after you took the quiz. 2 midterms, 1 final which if you study for most likely you'll receive an A. Also she gives you freedom on tests to choose one question out of a couple choices in one section. lectures useless- she just reads from slides but she takes attendance
MC Quiz on readings every week. Lots of reading. Exams are essay and short answer heavy. Final cumulative. Tough on lateness and attendance.
2 midterms, 1 final all short answer or essay based. 10q quiz every week based on the readings. She gives out study sheets every class for that weeks topic. Shes heavy on participation and attendance. Assigns seats after the 1st/2nd week. A very fair grader- if you know 50% of the history, youll be likely to get an A on her exams.
She is the sweetest teacher I've had in college yet. She is very passionate about history and tries her best to make the material interesting. There are quizzes every week but if you read the textbook and take notes you will do well. She is very clear with what you will be expected of on tests, again if you really take notes you will ace it.
Tbh if u don't have the time to read 10-20 pages of old modern English then don't take her. She's very sweet but she doesn't teach Women history well. She assigns readings everyday and ask questions about the reading in class but she doesn't summarize it either in her slide shows so its a waste of time and your basically teaching yourself .
There is a lot of reading but its not bad at all and she is so well organized everything is easy to catch up on if you miss a class. She's a great professor! The classes are discussion oriented so get ready to express your thoughts. Two midterms and a research paper with oral presentation at the end on a topic of your choice in Womens History
TO do well: be ready to read < 40 pgs of textbook weekly + memorize significant terms. You should spend 10 hrs weekly to study for quizzes and exams. She offers extra credit and drops lowest quiz grade out of 10. The midterm and final are very straightforward bc of the study sheets. The class itself is so engaging raise your hand bc she loves it!!
Great Professor! If you pay attention and do the reading you should do well. A lot of reading which you need to do for quizzes every week, but the midterms and final are not bad. Lots of extra credit opportunities and she loves when students participate. If you are willing to put in some effort you can do well and learn a lot.
you must take her, she's honestly the easiest professor who cares so much about the students IF you do the readings which are really fun and interesting and I'm not even a history major. Take her and it will be a GPA boost also additionally to learning to much!
A great professor that really cares about the subject. Quizzes once a week, two midterms, and a final. It's important to participate. There is a lot of reading, but if you do it and pay attention you can do very well.
Professor Pence is a good teacher, but she assigns a lot of readings. They're heavy and every week. You need to read these to pass the quizzes. The online midterm was super difficult and she didn't prepare us fully for it. Zoom sessions are just a review of what you're supposed to have read. Not a bad class, but not great.
She gives a lot of lectures and they're pretty long. You get a quiz every week and the usual midterm and final. She doesn't really teach when we meet for class. Just goes over a document or two. Everything is on her lecture. There are also some readings in the textbook.
Pence is an amazing teacher. She LOVES history which makes this class all the better. Actually made me fall in love with global history. Make sure to do the readings and take GREAT notes during the lectures, and you are good to go. Quizzes every week. Very clear grading criteria. She answers emails right away. Thanks Dr. Pence!!
Professor Pence is a very good teacher. Every week there was a quiz to do. There was a lot of reading, but I skipped most of it and just watched her videos basically summarizing the chapter. Quicker and easier imo. She's passionate about history, nice to see she cares. There were about 3 papers we did, all easy. Would take again if in person.
Guys shes a really good professor but she gives so much work. Three parts for a midterm. THREE!!!! A project, an essay, and an actual test. So much work for what?
Professor is a great teacher, to be honest. But the amount of works is tremendous! Tree parts for midterm and the final. we have to watch her lectures (average about 5 videos around 15min each), read the textbooks, and study the study sheet every lesson. Professor isn't a tough grader at all. But, when it comes to a lot of work, the course is hard.
3 part exams (midterm & final), 10 quizzes (every week), textbook readings, 5-8 lecture videos (8-15 minutes each), study sheets (every week), document readings, 2 extra credit opportunities, sync-lectures (optional, but helpful). overall, great professor. work load is a bit excessive
If you are a history lover, Dr. Pence might be good for you, because there is no denying she is passionate about the topic. Otherwise, do not take this class or leave ASAP, because there is simply too much work for such an unimportant class. It is a rigorous course with the amount of reading and video watching needed to pass. Save yourself.
She is a great professor and passionate about history, choose her class if you love history. This course has much to read.
weekly quizzes that she barely prepares you for doesn't prepare you for the midterm, way too much work for a 1003 class. Extremely unnecessary, just rambles and doesn't explain well and I have to teach myself outside of class time. If I knew this, I would have just steered clear of her, too much work and quizzes and no mc on exams just writing.
Way too much work for a simple history class. Quiz every week and she does not give enough time to take them. Her lectures are miserable and her tests are so hard for no reason. Would never take her class again
The semester isn't over yet, but she has been an amazing professor. Very enthusiastic and its clear that she loves history which makes the class so much better. She's very passionate about teaching history. You do have to read a lot for the quizzes every week but everything else is fairly easy you should just read and participate in class.
Professor was kind and offered lots of opportunities. She gives 2 extra credits and drops 2 quiz grades. However, be prepared to read 40 textbook pages every week. The weekly Tuesday quizzes come mostly from the textbook but also from PowerPoints and documents. She is not a strict grader for midterms & finals. Participate at least once every class.
shes my mom
shes my friends mom
Great Professor! If you do the readings and apply yourself you are going to do great. She grades fair. Gives you an opportunity to gain extra credit and drops your 2 lowest quiz grades. I did average on the quizzes throughout the semester and finished with an A. Best professor my Freshman year.
The tests are straightforward forward and she's also quite understanding. Just be prepared for the weekly quizzes.
katherine is the best i love her you should be her student she';s awesome i failed her class but im stupoid so it's not her fault i love her take her class btw if your smart you'll definitly poass because your smart but im noit skmart so i failed but its ok i love her anyway i wish i has her foir all of my other class thankx 4 reading ~!!!
(T^T) Prepare to read & take notes on 20+ pages back and front of textbook every week to take a 10 question quiz (12 in total). everything she mentions in her exam review sessions will be on the exam. Two part exam: fill in the blank (short answer Qs) and essay which is easy bc essay questions are all listed in her exam study guide. Lenient grader
the midterm saved me.quizes dont count as much but she is a nice grader.lectures are heavy and can be boring but its history. She is caring & passionate for history/use the opportunities of EC.
Prof is ok, participation is needed. Lecture is interesting if you like history but also heavy. Tests are long and difficult because it would ask very specific and detailed questions such as the name of the person, event names, era, etc. Be ready to read a lot, around 40 pages for each lecture. Quiz at the beginning of every lecture.
Her midterm and final were so easy compared to the quizzes. She gives the prompts for the midterm and final beforehand. Participate once a day and do decently on the quizzes, and you should get an A.
Honestly an annoying class, she gives so much work (over forty textbook pages a week), and we get quizzed on those readings every week; only ten questions. Excessive workload for no reason, and she gives assigned seats (I thought that only happened in high school). It's a great class for history lovers, but if you're not, stay away from Pence!
Terrible Professor period. She gives a crazy amount of reading for just 10 questions on a quiz on a weekly basis. Also, the fact that she really ain't that knowledgeable once you really ask about the topic in depth. Her lectures are also boring and she doesn't really respond to the emails.
Shes caring but her quizzes r so bad and the only way to pass them is to read an ungodly amount of textbook pages each week. Her slides are bad too. got an A on her midterm not bc of her but I had to teach myself, i did bad for her quizzes bc i didnt read 30+ pages assigned to read for the week. Ez course, she j makes us do the absolute most..
WORST history teacher i had, she has to understand not everyones way of learning is TEXTBOOKS. got a bad score on a quiz, she and wrote "did you even read the textbook?" NO GIRL. not gonna read 20+ tb pages WEEKLY for a quiz esp if it doesnt help me. so rude for that, comment was so unnecessary, unprofessional, made me lose mad respect for her :/
Quiz every week based on textbook readings, after taking the quiz she teaches what the quiz was about. the questions are usually specific and can be difficult. the midterm and final are all writing. if you take this class you are signing up for endless studying and examination.
Good professor. She goes over the material in depth. Weekly quizzes on the assigned textbook reading, honesty if you just read the textbook you're good. She drops the 2 lowest quiz grades and also allows for another 2 quizzes to be replaced with extra credit work (which is very easy and you have all semester to do). Answers emails fast. Recommend.
Professor Pence is amazing with her midterms. She allowed us to write whatever we know and as long as our connections are valid we got the points. Some parts may be memorization based but she does a lot of reviews before the final and midterms which are really helpful; having a timeline is super helpful.
Taking her for HIS 1003 and there is a quiz every week on 2 sessions. overall 12 quizzes (2 get dropped at the end). Midterm is a LOT to study for and remember. If you memorize things well then take her. She gives 2 extra credit opportunities. She also does do attendance and gives you assigned seats.
She has a VERY structured syllabus with topic coverage for every quiz, every date for every quiz, and extra credit opportunities to make up for missing or low-grade quizzes. Make sure to read the textbook and readings RELIGIOUSLY because quizzes will be based on content. Consistency is key, read and read even when you dont want to read
I don't know why her ratings are so low she is a great professor. There is a lot of reading but it's not hard. The midterm and final can be intimidating but if you pay attention and take good notes during class you should be fine. Professor Pence is extremely approachable and wants you to succeed in her class I would 100 percent recommend her.
She gives a quiz a week but they're mostly fair and she posts study sheets and slides for them online. She's well-prepared in that way. She's kind and gave a nice curve for the midterm. Only downside is that her lectures can be boring at times and her final and midterm are all short answers and essays, making it near impossible to finish.
Not a bad class, she knows what she's teaching, have quiz every week, only 10 questions, the final is all written exam and a essay, you need to read ahead a lot of the times for your class. She give a lot of extra credit and has office hours.
Well-educated professor, she genuinely understands the subject matter. There's a weekly quiz, and the study sheets are helpful. She follows the syllabus, so it's manageable to keep up with the course. It can get overwhelming with a lot of content to know.
