Best. Teacher. Ever! All you have to do is go to class and take notes and you'll be fine. But I must warn you; you will take ALOT of notes. You'll get used it though. She makes History SO interesting. Plus she's funny and extremely nice. I would definitely recommend that you take this class.
She's the best professor I've had! She makes history interesting and is very clear. You don't have to memorize dates/times, just events and the significance. She memorizes faces and names and is very, very intelligent. She types notes and you just email to her to receive them. Only have to write one paper and take 3 tests for the entire course!
She talks about everything in class but unless you are able to write super fast and listen at the same time you get lost very easily. i wrote all her notes and went over them a still had a hard time on the two test. only 3 grades in this class by the way so u have to do amazingly on all to pass.
I have her for 1301 and 2311 in the same semester and plan on doing the same next semester. She talks EXTREMELY fast, but doesn't mind to repeat herself at all. She's SO helpful!I visit her all the time and email with questions. she loves to help! No text book. She also seems to genuinely care about her students and remembers names :)
Super friendly and funny, always in a good mood. She is really knowledgable and pretty cute too.
She is great! She does talk fast but, gives you all the details you need to know. She gives lots of extra credit and if you meet with her after class she is very helpful.
She is so NICE. Only uses Pictures in her power points but she is so crystal clear when she describes the events throughout her lectures. History was a bit boring to me but during her class she makes it so interesting. BEST History teacher ever. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER.
She is GREAT! Super nice and easy to talk to about problems you are having in class. She is willing to study with you over tests and offers at least 20-35 extra credit points throughout the semester. Super easy on grading the one paper there is in the class. Best teacher to take if you want to actually learn and have fun all the while making an A!!
She is an awesome professor! Just study the key terms she gives you before the test and you will have no problems passing! She gives extra credit opportunites. Only 3 tests and 1 paper. I'm definitely taking her again for History 1302.
Great teacher interesting lectures. Hard on the papers she greats but she is extremely fair
She is a nice person! As a teacher, she is very strict and tough. If you attend every class (no absences) she will do anything to help you and your grade. she gives many chances to do well. Lectures go really fast but she tells you what you need to know and makes history interesting.
Excellent teacher. She expects you to take notes and be a thinker but she doesn't make the class harder than it needs to be.
She is such an amazing History Teacher. Not boring at all! Her lessons are based on pictures, not long boring sentences, she makes class very interesting and is super helpful!
Awesome history teacher! This is a required class so you might as well take someone interesting. Grade consists of 3 tests and a book paper. Lectures are very enjoyable and she gives a review for each test.
Avoid like the plague. The class was full when I began and by the end of the semester it was practically empty. There is a list of things i can say. So, I will just keep it simple and say this class was very difficult although the professor was very clear in teaching yet very fast passed. The homework assignment were unreal.
Best Professor I've ever had. Very clear study terms for exams, as long as you take notes you're good. Only homework I had was extra credit and the final research paper (10 pages). Relates really well to the class, nice, answers any questions you ask, concise lectures wo bs. I took her HIST 1301 Honors class, will definitely be taking 1302.
Rudisill's lectures are like story time, and she is such a sweet lady. Her assignments are easy as long as you put forth effort, BUT her tests are HARD. I studied weekends away for her tests and still failed them. Her tests made me hate this class. I go to her office hours every other day, and she is so helpful. Good class, ridiculously hard tests.
She doesn't rele you early because her lectures are so detailed and she needs the whole class time. Test are easy once you take the first one. No book needed and if you write down the questions she ask during lecture you will pretty much have half of the answers from the exam. 3 test and a paper (extra credit for perfect attendence) she's AWESOME!!
She is very prepared, moves fast but clearly. Doesn't drag, or go on bunny trails, but she does tell you interesting facts and stories related to the topic. she tells history like a story, which i like. She has hard tests, but you'll be okay if you study and take notes. She is respected and liked by students, and has great style ;) Take her class!
Only 4 exams including the final and an essay. Tests are extremely hard, you just have to know how to study.
Took this teacher for History 1. When she says the tests are really tricky, she means it. Almost got a c in this class due to the test having confusing questions. Her lectures are fast pace and you know what you need to learn, but the way she words the questions are confusing. I would not take this teacher again.
I love this professor! Take her!shes very clear during her lectures and used power points and pictures. It's a very fast paced class, so you must take good notes. She gives 3 exams one final, one essay. Gives extra credit for perfect attendance. I took her for both history courses. She helped me out a lot, and truly cares about her students!
I loved her class! I typically hate and always dread going to history but Professor Rudisill made me look forward to going to her class and I actually learned a lot. Her exams are difficult but if you attend class and stay on course, you will do fine.
I loved Mrs. Rudisil, she is really sweet and super helpful. Her test are really tough though. It is the answers to the questions are what confuses people. You need to study basically all the details for each key term. She gives extra credit which is nice but you can not miss more than 3 times or you will fail her class.
Took Honors 1301/1302. Funny, kind, helpful. Her lectures are long, but if you take notes, you will get EVERY bit of information you need for tests. Her lectures are interesting anyway. If you don't attend lectures/take notes, you WILL have issues. Her only homework was extra credit and two papers. You only have to study for tests most of the time.
Professor Rudisill is amazing in by book. Her passion for the subject is obvious during her lectures. When you take notes, be sure to understand the whole subject since it is all fair game on the exams. Pay attention and study and you will do well. She will always help as much as she can.
interesting , class exams are the hardest thing i have ever had to do. make sure you take concrete notes and really know the subject, dont be afraid to ask for help. also dont look at her directly for more then five seconds as you may get lost in her beauty and might miss something important. oh and dont look into her eyes. youll get lost in them
I have to admit, I've learned so much more from Ms. Rudisill than any other history teacher I've had because she talks about every aspect from A-Z, and she make's it very interesting. However, I would not advise you to take her because her tests are very difficult, and shes a tough grader. It's rare to score anything above a C in her class.
Dr. Rudisills class was my favorite one this semester. she teaches in a way that her students understand. I learned so much from her class. She is not an easy professor which is not at all bad because she makes you study for it. This class taught me how to study better. I enjoyed coming to class every time. She gives 3 exams and one paper.
Passionate professor! Made this class enjoyable. Test are tough but if you study you will be fine. I did not study much for the first but put in time for the other two. 3 tests and a paper. If you pay attention and study the notes you will pass! Great lectures. Always there for you and to help you.
If you're looking for an easy A, don't take Dr. Rudilsill. Her tests are difficult, but I loved her lectures. Really makes you work for your grade. 3 tests and a paper. No room for error! If you really apply yourself, you will get a good grade.
At first, I thought I was going to have a hard time in this class. I barely passed the first exam. After that, I studied for the next exams and with the extra credit she offered, I surprisingly made an A! Her exams are really specific. Just study the terms she provides and study for hours and hours! She is one of the nicest professors I've ever had
This class was very difficult. I love Professor Redistill because she is so helpful and nice to everyone, and her lectures will keep you on your toes to see what happens next. you have 3 exams and 1-four page paper... BEWARE her exams are the HARDEST thing i have taken. Im an all A (minus 1 B) student and received a terrible grade in there.
Don't expect to take this class and not work for your grade, her tests are hard but if you listen to her lectures and focus on her key terms you'll be fine plus her extra credit helps out a lot, loved this class and highly recommend her but not if you're one who cant put forth the effort outside and inside of the classroom.
She is an amazing professor. Her tests are very hard but if you study you will pass. By study i mean actually study lol. She offers extra credit. and she is super sweet and approachable! Her lectures are fun and make you want to learn! Very understanding, i made a C but thats because i slacked off, i definitely could have made a B or A.
Very good lectures. 3 exams 1 essay. MUST study , very hard test. Not for lazy people!
You will not get a A or B in her class. Accept the fact before you take it and be happy that you passed.
This class was very stressful if you did not do anything.
Dr. Rudisill will defiantly get you thinking! Her lectures are not boring, she just stands at the front of the class and starts talking - like she is telling us a story. Pay attention! Id suggest buying an audio recorder. Her exams are hard, but just study and youll do fine. She gives extra credit and will answer any questions. I recommend her!
1) Mostly just lectures 2)Little to no homework assignments 3) One paper 4)Exams are not cumulative 5) Tough exams (critical thinking) 6) Attendance is key!!!!!!!! 7) Friendly professor
Professor Rudisill is an amazing lecturer. She makes history come alive and is a great storyteller. She is good about explaining historical context by using modern examples. Her tests are HARD and you have to study. Do everything you can for extra credit, and show up every day or your probably will not pass.
Let's just get this out of the way, it is nearly impossible to pass the first test. There's three tests, one essay, and lectures that are too easy to tune out to. She is a really soft speaker and the lectures are not very helpful to study for. If you have to take this professor, get an audio recorder. Some of the test material she doesn't teach.
Unless you're going to major in History don't take this class.
This class is not as easy as the other reviews make it out to be. She lectures like a story which makes it easy to zone-out when taking notes and although her tests are multiple choice they are by far the most difficult I have taken. Last semester I had all As and Bs and in this class about 12 people failed the 2nd test. I would skip on taking this.
Okay yes this is a difficult professor, but her class is not impossible to pass. I took her for History 1301 and History 1302 and passed both with a B. You will be fine if you pay attention, take notes, and study. She gives many extra credit opportunities so I suggest you DO IT! The extra credit and studying is what will save you from failing.
Wonderful professor!!! She does not use any textbooks, but powerpoint and clear explanation. Exams are not easy. They are hard. But when I went to her office, she took care me a lot. She fixed my note-taking, which was a great help. Average score is very low but you dont have to worry about it. She provides about 40 extra credits.
Dr. Rudisill is a great professor. Although she is tough, she feels that since we are in college, we must study as if we are in college. She presents her lectures like a story and makes it interesting. Exams were a challenge to pass and very critical-thinking based but she gives extra credit and she is always willing to help her students.
Definately knows and loves what she teaches, and the lectures were so great I almost wanted to change majors, and wanted to be friends with her outside of class. Her tests are tricky, but you can argue for questions to be bonus so I turned an 82 into a 97. Yes, her tests are tough, but nobody will tell you it's because she didn't cover it.
She is really knowledgeble about History. She makes it so interesting and tells it like a story. She makes going to class entertaining and enjoyable, however her test are hard if you don't study. She gives extra credit and an essay but its fairly easy. She wants you to pass, so she is def on our side. She is really sweet and she is funny at times.
I have never been interested in history before but she made me want to listen. Great story telling and keeps you interested. She only does tests and a few other grades. Her tests are structured uniquely since she writes them herself but if you pay attention in class you will pass. Everyone pretty much fails the first test, but you can make it up
Best history professor hands down!! She makes her lectures more modern which really helps when trying to picture what shes talking about.
A really interesting teacher. Her classes are really enjoyable. His way of expressing himself converts history into a really interesting story. However, their exams are difficult. Prepare to receive a 60 on your first exam. If you like challenges, this teacher is for you.
I had her in the fall semester. Her exams are so hard and it is very difficult to pass. She teaches lessons like a story and is really fast paced. It is really hard to get her in office to ask doubts or clarifications as her office is locked with lights switched on for 24 hours.
My favorite teacher of all time. Seriously considering my major... she made me fall in love with history. I've taken her for 1301 and 1302. Her lectures are incredible, thought provoking, and interesting. Attendance is not mandatory but if you don't show up you will probably fail. There's one essay and 4 tests. You gotta pay attention
Very good professor. Teaches in a way that makes history interesting. Would highly recommend.
She is a great professor, making history come to life on the page with her storytelling. The class is less centered around exact dates but more about critically thinking about the past and how it affects us. This does make the tests difficult, but if you apply yourself you will eventually get the hang of it. She gives several extra credit options.
Everyone is scared of her tests but if you study the vocab and understand the basic understanding of their place in history, you will do fine on the tests. She only gives 3 tests with one essay and they are all each 25% percent of the grade. Luckily, she makes the lectures entertaining and keeps students engaged with slides and stories. Enjoyable.
I thought history was the most boring subject UNTIL I took this class. She's witty and entertaining, lectures are thought provoking and very interesting. Only grades are 3 tests and one essay, tests are made to challenge you but if you study the list of terms you'll be fine. Very helpful and accessible and gives opportunities for extra credit.
Her tests are excruciatingly difficult. There are only 3 graded assignments, (3 tests and 1 essay.) The essay is an easy A, the tests are difficult. The class average for the first test was a 42. She told us that was higher than most of her other classes. I passes the class with a 72; be prepared to study.
you can tell she is extremely informed on us history, she gives the information in an interactive and unbiased way. the tests are very hard, but paying attention in class and studying will get you through the class. her lectures are the only lectures that i thoroughly enjoyed, she made history extremely interesting.
Very interactive in lectures and makes you understand the material. You must study the key terms for the class the way she presents them in class or you will NOT pass!
tests are extremely hard. the answer choices are extremely tricky. you know what just dont bother taking her class if you are trying to pass. lectures are good tho. the majority of peoples "highest" grades in that class were were 60s or 70s. key terms provided, extra credit assignments. no hw. atendance mandatory, points deducted after the 2nd abse
Professor Rudisill was really an interesting person, she lectures heavy and if you don't attend class you will not pass, her whole grading criteria is based off of 3 exams and 1 paper which is super scary if you've been out of school for 8yrs like me. Regardless if you put in the effort to study and take advantage of the extra credit you'll do fine
I took her online and the tasks given were pretty simple. All you had to do was watch the lecture she posted for the given week. There are only 3 tests, 1 paper, and around 3 to 4 discussion boards. The tests were kinda hard because they are based solely on her exam reviews which are only definitions.
She's really nice. She will set you up in life to succeed. Take note of every word she says because it will be on the test. Don't slack off at any time. She brings history to life!
Studying and good note taking are the core elements needed to pass this class. The assignments are tough but they're still doable. Attendance is mandatory because she will not go over topics unless it's a review day.
If you wanna get an A in the class do not take her! Her tests are literally awful and do not alone with the lectures
The class is difficult. There are 3 exams and 1 essay, weighted equally. Very tricky so you must know details. Study and take notes! 2 extra credit assignments but they add A LOT to your grade. She gives a review for each test which is a list of terms. Her lectures are AMAZING. I wanted a longer class just to hear her lecture.
MASTER LECTURER. She is every bit as amazing as everyone says she is. YOU MUST ATTEND/WATCH LECTURES. 100% of your test is from the vocab list she gives to follow lectures with. You WILL NOT pass if you don't follow the vocab/lectures. Gives you every single thing you need to retain info and pass tests. She is super easy to follow and fun to watch.
Absolutely charming in her lectures, she really cares for work and expects you to actually work for your grade. She's very simple, some slight studying, and just make sure you take good notes that's about it. She's AMAZING !!
Dr. Rudisill is amazing, empathetic, easily-understood, concise, funny, and always kind. She has a very laissez-faire attitude with regards to her class, just be respectful. Very little homework, but you HAVE to take notes on her extensive lectures, which are what the entire course consist of. I wish she could teach all of my classes. 10/10
You do not need the textbook . She provides exam terms for you to base your notes off. If you do not take notes you will not pass. She puts no more than 2 lectures a week that are about 1 hour long. She is an amazing teacher. All she asks is to be respectful. She is super understanding and lenient on due dates.
This is my second semester with Dr. Rudisill and she has been nothing short of an amazing teacher. She really cares and is willing to help all of her students. You can do really well in the class if you watch her lectures. They are super long, but honestly just watching them will give you everything you need to know for tests/quizzes.
This professor SUCKS! She doesnt respond to emails when you need her to and the test that she gives are hard!! I do NOT recommend this professor.
Lowkey traumatized at 1st but one of the best professors I ever had. 3 Exams + Paper. The exams were entirely over her lectures. WRITE EVERYTHING SHE SAYS DOWN. I learned a lot from her, especially how to take notes. And I actually could retain everything she taught. Her lectures are long but great/interesting. DW if u don' so good on 1st exam (EC)
Her lectures were OK. She loves to talk about French HIST so beware of that. She gives 4 questions quizzes each time over the lectures of the week & they're trick questions. So they're very easy to miss regardless of ur notes. Her grading criteria are harsh, so if you fail it affects you tremendously. Kind personality but wouldn't take it again.
Dr. Rudisill is an amazing professor. Her lectures were very engaging. She explains history in a way that is understandable and easy to remember. The tests were based off her lectures but she provided key terms to listen for during her lectures. Very understanding professor, and provided extra credit assig. to help with test grades.
You'll have to pay attention to pass the tests. Questions cause you to critically think and some material you'll have to figure out as it isn't covered in the lectures.
Professor Rudisill's lectures are interesting, she engages the students in her lectures. Paying attention in lectures and taking notes is crucial to passing the exams. The exam questions seem difficult, but they are not they only cause you to critically think. She is one of the sweetest professors that I have had, truly an amazing professor.
Dr. Rudisill's lectures were very enjoyable and easy to follow! She provides a list of Key Terms for the upcoming tests. I recommend having the list of terms accessible while taking notes as it makes it easier to know what you should be paying extra attention to. Show up to class and take good notes and you will do fine!
I loved Professor. Rudisill, she is an awesome person. I rember on exam 1 i did terrible despite putting in all the effort and i emailed her right than and she comforted me, I was on an edge of dropping this class, but professor. rudisill encouraged me and i passed this class with a B! which is an average for me because i've always gotten A's.
This class is interesting lectures coupled with hard exams, which she admits. Most people make around a 55-60/100 on them. She does give generous extra credit though, which bumps people up to an A or B. I would take her again despite the hard exams.
Amazing teacher, she only has three grades which are the three tests. Gives lots of extra credit too, as long as you take notes on her lectures and study over them using her key terms sheet, you'll do great. Also do all of her extra credit, it could be a little tedious, but it is very worth it.
Her lectures are so interesting and informational, I had her at 7 AM and it was tiresome but she was so interesting. Her tests are hard, the questions asked are easy but the answer choices are simple but really on topic. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. Very good professor honestly.
If you like history this is definitely the class for you, I hate history, but she was a good professor. Her lectures talked in stories about each event, and she has about 30 or more terms that will be on the test, but she makes her own tests. They are very hard and you need to memorize the impacts of every event and more information. Pay attention.
I took Professor Rudusill this fall semester, and she is so unorganized with her agenda. She barely answers my email when I have a problem. Beware her assignments consist of quizzes, discussion boards, and unit tests. All of her lectures are a bunch of boring videos. If anyone wants to take her class go for it.
The wording of her tests is not good. I know she wants students to fully understand concepts, but the test are not even written in a way that she explains it. Even after watching her lectures multiple times, it's hard to really tell what you need to jot down and what you don't need to. Not my favorite
Her lectures were okay. Her tests are very hard and you have to memorize LOTS of stuff, I remember once she didn't even know the answer to her own question on the test. I did enjoy her class, she just grades very hard..
Professor Rudisill is very passionate about History, her lecture videos are very educational and very easy to understand. It is a very easy online class, there is no way to fail. She is very direct and dictates ahead of time what I needs to be done. You will not regret taking her. She gives a lot of extra credit!!! use it to your advantage.
I took this professor for HIST 1 & 2, at first, her grading is tough, but you just have to TRUST the process. There are 3 exams plus extra credit. If you just take notes in lecture and study them and do all the extra credit, you will pass. She is very kind and WANTS everyone to pass and succeed.
I enjoyed her first history so much, I took her for the second one as well! The lectures are easy to listen to (enjoyable). Take good notes and go over them for the test. Some of her questions are worded tricky. I had never enjoyed history before her! She responds to emails quickly too.
There's some tough exam with the wording which kinda confuse me a bit, but her lecture is absolutely amazing.
Professor Rudsill makes history hilarious and fun—even though it's a tough subject. We rarely used the textbook, but extra credit and signature assignments are lifesavers. Take advantage of them! She's energetic and engaging, though slow to respond to emails. I'd gladly take her class again!
VERRRRRYY FUN CLASS TAKE IT SHE IS SO NICE AND PRETTY VERY EASY GRADER THE TEST IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT, BUT STILL YOU CAN GET AN A SO EASILY
Professor Rudisill made lectures really fun and learning the material easy. The exams do have some tricky worded answers so you really have to know the material. Her class was awesome overall.
