Katherine is the srchetype of a perfect teacher. She goes the extra mile to get students interested in sociology. She is very animated from the litres of coffee she drinks in class. Be aware that you must do the readinf because her courses are intercative

Strongly recommended. "Tough but fair" is a cliche, but it applies in that the class was required effort, but was not impossible. She is clearly passionate about her field, which makes it all the more worthwhile. Everyone should know something about Marx, Weber and Durkheim before going out into the world, where their names are dropped constantly.

Katherine is passionate about Social Justice and schooling. Attend class, it's interesting, take good notes and read the textbook. Also make sure you come prepared to discuss what you know, believe and read, she loves to have lively discussions! There was an assingment, a reflection paper and a oral final exam.

Katherine is REALLY nice. I struggled a bit on her assignments but I came in to get help and she took the time to read what I wrote and look at the articles I found for one of her assignments! Exams are a breeze if you read the chapter and take class notes!! Would take her again if could!!

greatest prof/teacher I've ever had in all of my education. a generally boring subject, she makes the class so exciting and you actually want to go to class. enjoyed the class the entire semester. if I was a sociology major I would choose her for all my classes.

Katherine is one of my favourite profs by far! She is funny and engaging. I leave class feeling like I know and understand concepts we discussed! Attendance is not mandatory as she posts notes online but you won't want to miss her lectures! Discussions that happen in class are directed/helpful to gaining a deeper understanding of course work.

Katherine is an amazing prof. I've never had a morning class that I have been excited for. There were two assignments and two tests. They were both relatively easy. You don't need to read the textbook. However, if you want to excel in the class (A) then definitely read the textbook, it'll give you an edge. Lovely prof, lovely class.

Katherine is amazing!!! If you get the chance to have her for 101 TAKE IT! Her lectures are amazing, I honestly didn't read the text until the final to get more in-depth info on a few specific concepts. You need to show up - her exams sometimes ask for examples which she gives in-class. The 2 assignments are a breeze, she is a fair grader.

Really cares about all her students, enough to learn everyones names, super funny and engaging during lectures, uses current events to relate to her lectures, 2 assignments that are pretty easy, very easy going and understanding to situations. Definitely would take her again.

Hands-down the best prof that I've had at UFV! I had Katherine for 3 courses. I was able to really grasp and gain an interest in soc theory. Super funny, interesting, and passionate about teaching. Her grading made sense and had effective feedback on what was good and what needed improvement. 10/10 would recommend.

This is my first review, mainly because I really needed to let people know Katherine is awesome! She learns everyone's names and she is very approachable and wants you to succeed. She turned relatively dry material into a really engaging class and you can tell she is passionate (not to mention hilarious). Would take another course with her!

Probably the best professor I've had at this school. She is super engaging and inspiring when she talks. Was rarely bored in her lectures. I'll take whatever class she's teaching because I love her and her teaching style so much. Only a few projects and tests, super easy when you're interested in what she's teaching.

Would I take another class from Katherine, a resounding "Yes." Katherine optimizes what a Unversity Professor should be; enthusiastic, stimulating, makes the subject matter interesting and easy to understand, but she also does expect you to know the material in order to get a good grade. Katherine is my all-time favourite professor at UFV! She can make any topic interesting and gives great feedback and is easily accessible for help outside of class. I've taken 3 classes with her and they have all been amazing! For upper level courses she does have high expectations but she is always reasonable and a fair marker.

Katherine was an amazing prof. Her class was online and each lecture the amount of writing was small but she has voice recordings on each one that explains everything so vividly. She cares a lot about her students, and is very easy to get a hold of and answers all questions thoroughly. She grades very well and easy!

Overall, Katherine is an outstanding professor. She cares about her students and is passionate about the content she teaches. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to take class with her this semester! Definitely recommend taking a class with her at some point during your degree!
