Genius professor but super challenging class. Great if you really want to learn.

Really energetic and fun teacher. Incredibly intelligent. Tries really hard to keep all the students engaged. NOT AN EASY CLASS. She expects a lot out of her students but you come out of the class with a lot of knowledge, which should be the point of taking any class. I really enjoyed her and her class.

The class really isn't that hard. And very interesting. McGuthry remains one of my favorite professors I've ever had.

We are half way thru the semester only and I'm writing this She is an amazing professor with A LOT of field experience (she has 2 post docs and god knows how many years of research) The tests are a bit difficult but the subject itself is not that easy either. Dr. Katheryn McGuthry is by far the best teacher i've ever had. She's the most positive professor you'll ever meet. She pushes you beyond your limits and although her tests are difficult, her lectures prepare you well enough for them. To understand the material better, you must read. I would without a doubt take this class again.

ALTHOUGH SHE GIVES DIFFICULT EXAMS AND HAS HIGH EXPECTATIONS OF HER STUDENTS, SHE IS STILL A WONDERFUL PROFESSOR. SHE GRADES FAIRLY AND NOTICES HARD WORK FROM STUDENTS. Professor McGuthry is by far the best one I've had yet. You can tell she's passionate about her job and goes above and beyond to help you. She gives detailed lectures that are certainly consistent with the material that will be on the exams. There's a lot of material to study, but possible to pass exams. She makes you work hard for your grade.

Although she gives tough exams, she is undeniably one of the best professors you could ask for. She genuinely cares for every single one of her students. Take her! You will not regret it!

I really enjoyed having her! I really loved her lectures she would give a lot of stories/examples and sometimes go off topic but I thought it was fun. The exams are... tough in the sense its a lot of information but as long as you study you should easily pass the class.

This instructor has a heart of Gold! She's awesome, really funny, and really engaged in her students learning. Her passion for her students had its affect on me since day one. She CARES about your education. Take her! Her tests are 'tougher', but easily passible as the study guide is tied closely to the lectures and test. I LOVED her class!

professor Mcguthry is one of the best teachers at this school. She is passionate, kind, and very supportive. She would always tell us that we can do it and that we can pass. Offers a lot of extra credit throughout the semester, although it isn't many points per assignment. The grade is mostly based on the tests, so study hard and you will do well.

She's very passionate about her subject which helps in finding it interesting. Attending class is a must, a lot of information is given in the lectures. She also notices when you're gone and makes sure you are ok if multiple lectures are missed.

If you really want to learn, this is a must take ! She really cares about her students & tries to help everyone. 3 tests, 1 final (cumulative), & a research paper/presentation make up must of your grade. The tests are hard and it's a lot to memorize. She offers extra credit when making study groups. The study guides & power points really help !

She is a wonderful instructor. I loved her class I took her at 7 am and it was a great start to my day She is very energetic and cares about her students. I love that her lectures are on blackboard so I would print them out and add to those. we didn't have a lot of assignments would about 2 assigments a one project and 4 exams.

Taking this class as a psychology major, I learned so much and I was always engaged in the lectures! I had a class in the morning and it never felt like a chore to go to her class. She is super passionate about the brain and it makes the class a lot more interesting!

Great Prof!!!!! so nice and will do all she can to help. She isn't easy, but I passed with an A and a love for Psych. She is actually the reason I declared as a Psych Major!!!!! I would LOVE to take her again. She doesn't give a lot of homework, but attendance is mandatory!

Professor McGuthry is an energetic and passionate teacher! Do not be late to her class, she really takes being on time seriously. Her exams are hefty and specific, but do her study guide (they are long) by filling in all the notes from class. Pay attention to ex. used in class(on test). As for project & paper, put in effort and she will be happy.

McGuthry was one of the sweetest and most funniest profs. ever!!! She is very passionate toward her teaching. She made psychology Fun. All exams are based on the lectures. She doesn't really give homework. Gives lots of extra credit! Lots of studying. If you don't show up to class, study the lectures and do the study guide, you wont pass.

Professor Mcguthry is amazing. She is so good at what she does and she is so passionate about it. She cares deeply about every student and desperately wants to help us succeed in class and in real life. However, it is not an easy class and I had to try harder than I ever have, but I got an A! This prof. is very nice . I think that she cares a lot for her students and tries to accommodate to their academic needs. She is goofy and makes her lectures interesting and works to engage her students. I took her for Research and I have to say I learned A LOT! One of the best teachers in my opinion. Dr McGuthry is easily one of my top 5 favorite professors I've ever had. I took her Research Methods class my last semester at Fullerton College and then at CSUF I took an Advanced Research Methods class and it was just review. She is one of the most effective and efficient teachers I've encountered, and you're doing yourself a favor by taking her.

Professor McGurthy is hands down one of the most inspirational people. She's the real definition of teacher. Her lectures are mind opening, and our homework/projects correspond with what she talks about. Super easy A! I loved her, and you will do! Also, she gives out study guides, and all notes are on the test! nothing out of the ordinary!

She is the most enthusiastic and animated person I have ever met. Engaging lectures, uses blackboard, likes to relate her personal experiences to the subject, and genuinely cares about her students. Dr. McGuthry is the best teacher I have ever had. I recommend reading the chapters in the book, but its not really necessary if you just want to pass.

if youre a psych major, you HAVE to take her. I took her for general, brain and behavior, and research methods. she is a difficult grader and heavy on tests but she will do everything she can to make sure you pass the class. the best teacher i have ever had, hands down. If you take about 30 minutes every day to review, you will do good on the tests. She's an awkwardly hilarious teacher and keeps the class interesting. 4 tests in total, not many quizzes and gives extra credit.

I LOVED her. I already miss her; her energy is absolutely amazing. 4 exams (she drops one), infrequent pop quizzes that are totally doable, research paper & poster that you present, and barely any homework. Literally just study and you will do fine in her class. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR, you won't regret it, fact thank me later.

This class is useful and informative, but it is a LOT of work! Her tests are a lot of fill in the blank and essay questions so they are hard, but with doing the work and studying, you can do well. Lots of written assignments and busy work. She is knowledgeable on this topic and is the best choice for this class no doubt. Hard work, but worth it.

Professor McGuthry is the best Psych professor ever!! She is very caring to all her students and will do anything in her power to make everyone understand the material. The lectures are a lot but she keeps it very interesting through out the whole time and she is funny! I will definitely take her again! Just study hard and youll pass

McGuthry was one of the best teachers Ive ever had. She was so caring and thoughtful plus her lectures were fantastic. I learned so much in her class. She cares about all her students and is truly hilarious and entertaining during lectures. As long as you come to class and do the few assignments she gives you, plus study for tests, you will pass!

Dr. M was always incredibly helpful & understanding. The material can be difficult but she emphasizes what you really need to know and is very encouraging. Shes also really funny so its a really entertaining class. The project & tests were easy, especially because she tells you exactly what she wants.

Inspirational and intelligent dr/professor with a lot of positive energy. In this class, you earn your grade. The test is ABSOLUTELY FAIR. Its entirely based on the lecture/textbook and notes she provides/teaches. The tests should be harder.

Professor McGuthry, is an amazing and outstanding teacher. She makes lecture fun and easy. She really tries to simplify and clarify as much as possible. She gives extra credit up to like 10 points. She drops the lowest test score and she is very outgoing. She will make you laugh and say silly things, and she is so fascinated with psychology.

Omg she was sooooo awesome ! I had class at 8:30 in the morning and she made class enjoyable and understandable. She is also SUPER approachable so asking questions in class or her office was really easy. The class was hard but with regular studying you'll pass. I would pass on the book bc all of the tests/quizzes are based on her powerpoints.

Professor McGuthry is very passionate about psychology. She keeps you engaged and invested in the material. She is very helpful and understanding if you need help. All she wants is for her students to succeed. Its not an easy A but if you put in the effort then you can definitely get one. Shes is so great !

No hw but there are some EC opportunities & drops the lowest test score too. But study her slides/lectures very hard and carefully, exams are a tad hard unless you really put in the time to study.

Professor McGuthry is one of the most empathetic, caring professors I have come across at Fullerton College. She makes you work hard, but it is for your benefit in the long run. Showing up to class is not optional, & she works hard to create engaging/fun/inspiring lectures. I would take her again in a heartbeat.

She a little bit of a tough grader but she is very detailed in her lectures (very helpful) and tries her very best to make sure her students learn as much as possible. Very sweet and doesn't give a lot of homework but there is a lot of reading.

Dr. M was one of the most inspirational professors I have taken. You can really see her passion for psychology! If you dont show up to lecture you will miss out on important info that WILL be on the exams. One project towards the end of the semester, not much homework. Just show up and be present. She is accessible outside of class.

Dr. McGuthry is by far one of my favorite profs. She knows her stuff and can get really passionate while lecturing. She loves participation (like questions) and hates distractions like phone usage or sleeping. Her exams are pretty difficult esp. if you don't do the reading. However, this class in general is fascinating!

Test heavy-drops lowest exam. There is a semester project but you get to choose the topic so it definitely makes it very interesting. Professor McGuthry is one of the most inspirational, caring, hilarious, interactive, and thorough professors I have ever taken! She makes sure that everyone understands the topic. amazing amazing prof. take her if you actually care abt learning the subject. i took her for psych 101 and brain and behavior. she isnt easy but you will 100% leave the class with a pretty good understanding of the topic. the tests can be haaaarddd, but study and pay attention and its possible to get an A.

The most caring and dedicated professor. Sleepy in class? SHE WILL CALL YOU OUT. Also, she strongly dislikes tardiness. She is so energetic and ready to pass on her knowledge. She has such informative slides with videos included. She really cares about each student and will even remember your name. She respects each person and is very easy to talk

If youre a Psych major, take her. If you actually want to learn, then take the challenge because it will better your knowledge and prepare you. She is very caring and literally wants everyone in the class to succeed. Just ask her questions and pay attention because she will help you as much as you need. She really does cater to those who need help

I have never met a Professor so inspiring and caring. She has the most amazing personality that will always put you in a great mood. Her class is a bit difficult, but she is very organized and is willing to help you out in any way she can. Stay on top of the readings and you will do great. If you are luck to get a seat in her class, take it!

Dr. M is probably one of the nicest professors you will ever meet. Even in a hall packed with 135 students she works hard to know everyone's names and personalities. Her lectures can be a bit chaotic with loads of tangents, so if that's not your thing shy away. However, if you don't mind she's AMAZING! She knows a lot and really helps you succeed.

She is so passionate about what she teaches and you can really tell she knows what she's talking about. Her lectures aren't boring and she's really funny, lighthearted, and an open book. The tests were kind of hard but if you study the notes you'll pass. I used the book once. I would take her class again

McGuthry has to be one of the sweetest people alive; it's impossible to say she doesn't care about you unless you missed her classes. She truly loves psychology and is there for you even if the problem has nothing to do with her class. That being said she can be a bit unorganized and go off-topic. Read the textbook, it really helps!

Her directions were unclear at times but you could always ask her for clarification. Even though it was an online class, she always had a smile and a positive attitude. You have to attend class or at least review the lectures to pass the class. Her tests are somewhat difficult but she gives extra credit :)

Attendance is a must since she bases all of her assignments and tests off of her lectures. She gives a great amount of extra credit which was very helpful for me. She doesn't do great at study guides and pointing out what will be on tests so be prepared to review lectures over and over again and studying a lot! She is a great teacher though!

So passionate about teaching. She really helps you understand the material and she's compassionate when things are tough. Brain & Behavior is really tricky but she helps by providing mnemonics and making class fun so it's easy to remember. 100% recommend!

One of the most engaging teachers I have had. She is very bubbly and full of personality. She really cares and really sets you up for success. Her tests are not easy and she expects you to actually know and understand the material. If you are willing to study and attend lecture, then you'd really enjoy the class.

I love professor McGuthry. She is so kind and cares about her students. She wants everyone to pass. You have two zoom sessions a week with amazing lectures. There are about 4 exams and one project. Study hard, but she will tell you everything you need in the lectures. If she has an embedded tutor, go to the sessions, they will help tremendously.

Loved her! Took her honors class expecting a lot of work and she really did not assign much. She expects you to truly understand her material more than assign you busy work. Her lectures were interesting but her tests were a little tough. I would 100% recommend.

This class was hard but she made me want to keep coming back. You can tell she REALLY loves her students and she truly wants them to succeed. Her feedback is always so personal and she makes you feel supported. Albeit a little hard to concentrate when she goes on tangents, I felt engaged the entire time. Not good at science but loved it bc of her.

she is a very kind and understanding individual, she did not accuse people of cheating she came to that conclusion due to the fact that the questions are based off her lectures and she looks at how much time you spend on canvas on her class. Her class is not an easy online class but only because she is not giving you an option to cheat.

She is such a kind and enthusiastic person, and it is clear that teaching is her passion. The material and exams are heavily detailed, but she knows this and is so encouraging. I highly recommend her for this course, and that you take her class IN PERSON. You will get so much more out of her lectures if you are actually present in the classroom.

Professor McGuthry is an amazing professor, I don't normally write these ratings but she was so great that I had to write one for her. Although her class is not one that you can BS your way through, she makes the class as easy and educational as she can. She is the most motivational professor I've ever had, definitely recommend.

This class is tough. She wants you to learn a lot from the class. If you only want some easy A, this class is not for you. The exam is close book close notes, and you need to use a lockdown browser with web cam. She is a dedicated instructor and she wishes you to learn new things. If you are already during a hard time, don't take this class.

Professor McGuthry has been the sweetest and most caring professor I've met! This class does require you to listen to her, she does speak a bit fast sometimes but I believe you can do it! Make sure to pay attention and ask if you don't understand something, she's happy to explain. Prepare for the research project at the end! (Not too hard)

Literally, my favorite teacher I have worked with, her personality makes the information so comprehendible, the way she teaches makes information stick. She does a good job at teaching you this stuff not just to pass but for life, and offers lots of extra credit which is super helpful.

By far one of the best psych teachers here on campus. I took her brain and behavior course Spring 2023 and I loved the class. She keeps the class engaged and makes the lectures enjoyable. Her exams do require good studying in order to ace them as they are not easy. There are pop quizzes so pay attention during lecture! Big project at end of term!

Professor McGuthry is one of the best professors I have ever had. I am not a STEM-sided person, I much prefer classes like history and english, however Professor McGuthry left most of us fascinated by her lectures. Her passion and her love for Brain and Behavior is so contagious. Her course is difficult, but I recommend taking this class.

Prof Mcguthry is the most passionate professor I've had and grew to love neuroscience from her class. To succeed in this course attend the lectures, study the material, and utilize the embedded tutor. She gives bonuses on assignments for EC and gives EC assignments. As long as you try to learn the material, you'll be okay. Psych majors take her!

Professor McGuthry can be demanding, but engaging with her teaching style pays off. The class has heavy content, so I found unstuck ai and the textbook useful for study prep. Overall, a challenging yet rewarding experience.

She's the GOAT! Course content is definitely difficult - kinda like learning a new language, but extremely interesting. She goes through lecture quite quick as there is a lot of information. She offers a lot of extra credit and there is 4 exams & a research project (follow exam study guides) Definitely one of the most fascinating courses I've taken

I loved this class and she really made such an effort to make the lectures personal and memerable which was extremely useful for this class since its such a lecture heavy class. She was also super funny and made lectures fun with her personal stories that always tied back into the lesson, I would take her class a million times again.
