Wonderful professor. She does everything within her power to make sure everyone has all the information they need. She is extremely helpful. Best professor I ever had.

Best teacher I have ever had. She is direct, funny, easy-going, understanding and just a fantastic instructor. She makes learning fun. She connects with her students and makes the classroom environment pleasurable. Straight up cool.

Definitely my favorite teacher. I have her right now and she is hilarious, and says so many inappropriate things. She keeps me awake and keeps me laughing. She makes her class sound like it will be hard, but its really not. Just read the book and go over her powerpoints and DO NOT MISS CLASS!

Kathleen is such a great professor, she has great energy and you will learn a lot!!!! Make sure you go to class!!!!!

Kathleen Gish is loud in pretty much every sense of the word, and will keep you wide awake during lectures. Although a master at explaining concepts and getting ideas across, students are expected to learn material from the textbook to prepare for exams on their own time. She puts a lot of time and energy into teaching and it shows.

Off the hook! Slightly crazy, really smart & loves sociology. EASY class/Easy A...but you have to show up for lecture & review power points. I never used my book, I just listened in class. Extremely entertaining & if your lucky, you will get to hear stories about her cats.

The first day I was a few minutes late and I literally stopped in my tracks outside the door after hearing her voice. She was loud and terrifying and I just knew it would be a rough quarter. But in all actuality she is extremely pleasant and personable. I would take any class she taught! Show up, do the work, and you'll get an A while learning alot

She is a great lady and some fun as long as you agree with what she says. Treat attendance like a truency officer. Waqy to much work and labs for class. There are alot of other prof. that are just as good with half the work.

She finds ways to get the class interested and able to understand what she is teaching. Anyone that rates her low is just lazy or does other homework in class. Watch out though if you take your cell phone out in class you might lose your hand. Takes some time to post grades online but if you keep track yourself then there should be no problem

Kathleen is the best teacher I've had at Sinclair. She is loud, vulgar, and relates what she's teaching to real life; all of which were extremely helpful in not only keeping my attention, but helping me learn. I'd easily take any class she offered. Her teaching style and how dedicated she was to this subject actually made me reconsider my major.

She is a wonderful professor who really knows her stuff! I thoroughly enjoyed class and loved being there. You have to read and study your book for the quizzes...it's a great book though. She relates to her students and is so down to earth. Yep, I love her! I would take her for every class if possible! :)

She keeps it real and the class can be alot of fun as long as you do your stuff and your class doesn't have a Goober Bunny as I called it but she called it a Gooney Bird...ask her about what this means...she will laugh...take her you wont regret it...

Again how any one rates this teacher low is beyond me. She is one of the best teachers sinclair has to offer. If you don't like to learn things from a book then drop out of college... seriously for anyone to complain about that is just childish. DO NOT USE YOUR CELLPHONE IN CLASS THOUGH. She will explain this to you the first day of class

Definatly one of the BEST profs I've had! VERY personable, professional, and encouraging. She will challenge you and keep you laughing along the way. She has the BEST syllabus and some of the best class discussions. I'd HIGHLY recommend this professor! And she's amazing because she totally looks like the BA version of Kat Von D :)

Gish is a good instructor & I'd recommend her to anyone! She is a little disorganized on the calendar & doesn't explain all the formal papers. She offers a ton of extra credit! She teaches by using powerpoints & gives tons of examples related to the material. Her tests are fairly easy, just need to study! I would say that her class is easy overall!

She is amazing. I got a C and I felt so badly about letting her down, great professor and extremely talented. Take this class.

I have taken Kathleen for SOC 111 and SOC 205 and the way she teaches Sociology will change the way you look at people and the world. She is awesome! I always looked forward to coming to class!

Kathleen is AMAZING. Take her if you have the chance. I promise by the end of the quarter you will call her a friend as well as one of your favorite teachers! Weekly quizzes instead of big tests, SO much better.

This is a hard class to take regardless in 7 weeks (Summer Term D). Gish made the class fun and exciting. She is very helpful, but also expects students to participate and do the work assigned. She loves give bonus points and will give you every opportunity to pass the class. She is very knowledgeable.

Gish is one of the best teachers I have ever had. There is no reason why you should not receive an A. She offers so much extra credit!! I highly recommend taking her class, you won't regret it.

Great professor! She makes a mildly boring subject interesting, makes you talk in class so you learn better, and presents the class to you in a way that is better for everyone's learning. Basically, her entire class is centered around your education. If you fail then it's your own fault!

Kathleen is probably the best teacher EVER. She's so lively and fun and completely understanding. If you know how to keep up in any class, there's no way that this class will be hard for you. If you have an interest in what she teaches, you'll pass with flying colors! I'd recommend her for ANY class you have. She's a BLAST!

Shes kind of a crazy teacher and really outgoing. She offers extentions on when homeworks are due, best part about the class.

Kathleen is great! Very interesting discussions in class. The work load is fair and consisted of a two page double spaced journal entry each week, 2 article presentations, a quiz each week, and then 3 papers due by the end of the term. She offers extra credit as well. She's an excellent professor and is very nice, I would definitely recommend her!

This is the first time I have rated a professor and I have been a student p/t for 4 yrs. I am 40 years old and feel like because of Kathleen, I have a different outlook on society. She is fair, passionate, hilarious and knows how to keep students engaged in the learning process. I love her tremendously! Wish she taught more classes for my major.

I don't understand what all the amazing reviews are for. She was an ok professor but her 3 credit hr class required more work than my 5 credit hr classes and her assignments were unclear. I learned some and did well, but I got more out of the soc 111 class in which we had a lot more class discussion, and a lot less outside busy work.

Can you handle the truth? You'll get it. Straightforward. But always fair. Always enthusiastic. Doesn't force her opinions. Cares about her students. Medium workload, but if you can't take advantage of "extra credit" and "extensions" and NOT get A/B...your fault. She loves SOC and will make you think. You'll take more classes. Recommend.

Very memorable. Wish she would update grades more frequently as it made me nervous for a while.

Liked that she made you think outside the box but she also can come off really abrasive. Hard to tell if she's being sarcastic or is really pissed off.

Great personality, made class very interesting. However she always has one hell of a syllabus and work load that can cause some serious stress if you work full time or have responsibility outside of class.

Gish is very amazing. She knows her subject thoroughly. There is a lot of work to do in the class, but she is very fair about giving you an extension on a project, just as long as you request before due date. Very entertaining. She enjoys sociology which is reflected in her teaching.

She was an absolutely amazing professor. She has an excellent energy level that helps keep your interest during lecture. The work load is large, and she is not easy. However, she is fair and grants extension requests and works with you on any question you have about the material. Switched my major to sociology because of her class. An A+ Professor.

I considered myself open minded until I took SOC 111 with Kathleen. She helped me redefine what I thought was "open minded" very quickly. Not only did I become well versed in sociology but I also become proficient in my other subjects due to her strong but fair requirements for the coursework. I suggest taking her to ALL my friends.

I hated the idea of taking soc until I walked into Kathleen's class. She was amazing from day one.She's one of those teachers that you either like or you don't! But very interesting and RECOMMENDED!

Gish is a good professor. She is very intelligent and passionate about Sociology. I struggled in her class but with all the extra credit, I passed with an A. When she says read the syllabus, she is not kidding! She is always available when you need help. She is also very funny and that helps keep class interesting.

I loved Gish!! She is so nice and ready to help. When she says read the syllabus she really means it. So don't ask her questions that are on the syllabus cause she will ask you if you have looked at the syllabus.

LOVE GISH!!! Of the 8 semesters I've attended school she is by far my fav. teacher. She makes the curriculum interesting. You can easily pass this class if you make an effort. I mean, this is college. We're adults here, and she expects you to act like one and take care of responsibilities. However, she understands you have lives. (gish 3 cats)

Gish is super cool. She can be a tough grader & tough on you when you're not talking or getting the material. She's always willing to help. If you don't like to work, don't take this class. She's tough, but a lot of fun & enjoyable. She tells it like it is and nothing is weird for her. I don't know that I would take her again, but she's awesome.

Gish was a great teacher and I loved going to class. She has some very hilarious stories and as long as your class participates you'll love it. She is very straightforward and offers a bunch of extra credit if you're willing to work for it. Her exams are very easy-again, as long as you participate in class.

you will only pass her class if you show up. she's super easy and really funny and makes me not wanna rip my arms off being in her class. she offers a ton of extra credit. honestly I'd take this class again just to have her again.

EXCELLENT TEACHER!!!! One of the best i have seen at Sinclair Community College, She is straight forward and tells you how it is but only because she wants you to succeed! anytime day or night she is available and will help you in any way!! come to class and listen and you will pass!!! if you don't like cats keep that to yourself she luvs em!!

If you are willing to put forth the effort, you will pass. Gish provides a lot of extra credit! She is a tough grader when it comes to papers, and tests can be difficult but she holds a review session before each test. If you need extra clarification on a topic, she is always willing to help.

She is as tough as you make it. Great teacher and very informative class. If you are judgmental, this is perhaps not the class for you. Expect you to work, do not take class if you are lazy or are wanting an easy grade. You have to read to pass, but it is interesting. She gives extra credit and its is usually fun. This class can change your life.

Gish was cool af. You definitely should not miss class. She's very knowledgable and kind of intimidating but as long as you have respect, she will recognize that. Kathleen is highly engaged and keeps class interesting. She isn't joking when she says class participation is very necessary. Again, participate. Don't afraid to be wrong from time to time, but for the love of all that is good an holy, PARTICIPATE. And the chapter reviews; do the chapter reviews. You are in complete control over the grade you get.

Quick wit and super awesome lectures! Participate and DON'T get butthurt easily ;) Be prepared to talk about social unjust while she makes you squirm with uncomfortable conversations, because you will be having just that, conversation. Which pays of with tons of extra credit. **highly accessible with expectations that you're a human adult! SHE RAD!

Kathleen is amazing!! But listen up if you don't go to class you will NOT pass!! Now I know that most profs just talk at you but not Gish she expects you to actually have a conversation and ask questions, and you will learn so much more if you just talk! oh and do ALL of the chapter reviews!!!

A great learning environment she is very well educated knows a lot and will research and read about what she doesn't tests were all online lots of extra credit like 75 points out of the 400 point class

Kathleen has been one of the best teachers that I have had in a long while. She genuinely cares about what she is teaching and is very passionate. Which is refreshing. She strictly sticks to her policies of attendance and due dates so if you are a person who does not show up to class or shows up late every other time, you will fail this class.

Kathleen is an amazing teacher that will help you with anything. I do recommend not missing any class or it will make your grade fall significantly. She teaches what needs to be taught and will often tell you that you are overthinking it, which you are.

This class is not for the weak or the racist! haha. Gish has a strong personality, which I loved but some didn't. She will make you think about things but is always willing to help even outside of class over the phone. Group projects! A lot of extra credit. PUT IN THE WORK, YOU'LL PASS EASILY.

Definitely a great "true professor" She doesn't hold attendance over your head as the end all be all of passing. She truly cares that you learn the material and that it helps you become a better thinker and a better communal contributing individual. Also she is very funny which helps with the learning process. The ball is really in your court.

Gish is extremely down to earth and animated. She says it how it is with no suger coating, which is what you need in a sociology prof. There is never a dull moment in her class. The homework assignments are just questions that you have to answer is a total of 500 words. It's participation and tests. That's it. Easiest A ever.

One of the best teachers I've had at Sinclair. There is a decent amount of Homework however it is pretty straight forward. The only knock is that I would rather have a week to view the homework assignments and complete them then to have like 3 or 4 days because this does make planning my days a little bit harder. Other then that she is awesome!

Kathleen is AMAZING! She is super inspirational and can explain anything, so that everyone in the room understands. She is clear and fair. She also offers an insane amount of extra credit opportunities. Her class was so inspiring. I always left feeling like I understood the world better than I had before I arrived. Gish was one of two professors at Sinclair I'd consider an educational force of nature. She made a long evening class exciting to engage in on days I'd been up since 5am. She knows her stuff, demands participation, is funny and enthusiastic, and I found myself sharing the contents of the course with friends week after week. Highest recommendation.

I loved professor Gish! She is hilarious and makes lectures entertaining. She is very clear with due dates and the amount of points each assignment is worth. Show up and do the majority of the work and you will pass with an A.

Kathleen is an incredibly outgoing individual. She is loud and funny and LOVES what she does. Her classes always kept me on my toes and taught me a lot about the world. She really knows her stuff and does a wonderful job teaching it. She assigns a lot of homework but there are no exams and tons of extra credit opportunities.

Okay. This class has many homework, papers, and quizzes. It is not that hard, but it takes time. So, if you want to take this class, you should make sure you have time to finish the assignments. The teacher gives many extra credits.

I would say Sociology was my most challenging class, but I learned so much and feel that it contributed not only to my growth as a student, but as a person. I feel privileged to have had Kathleen as my professor. I hope I enjoy others as much during my college experience.

She challenged me in a way that inspired much growth, as a student but also a person. I loved her teaching style. I was sad her class was over!

Gish is by far one of the most caring teachers I've ever had. She proves to her students how much she understands their struggles by helping them with questions, extensions, & extra credit. Clear instructor & a kind person all around. Makes you WANT to learn. Discussions every week unless theres an exam but they get easy. TAKE HER RN DO U HEAR ME?!

Professor Gish was an absolutely wonderful professor. It is very clear that she cares about what she teaches. She is a little tough on grading, but if you follow her great feedback, you're sure to pass. She also cared a lot about her student's individually and is a great communicator, funny too. She offers extra credit and retakes as well.

Gish was easily my favorite professor that I had this semester at Sinclair. She was hilariously unfiltered, spoke the truth, and gave me an entirely new perspective on culture. Really cool tattoos as well.

She is one of the best professors ever in all of professors. She is flexible, understanding, and kind, and really believes in her students. The stuff you learn is really helpful & eye opening. She is funny but super smart and helpful. I mean, it is not like the easiest class ever, but if you follow the direction and do the work you'll be just fine.

Professor Gish was amazing. She tells a lot of funny stories during class. I would definetly recommend her to anyone who was planning to take Sociology for any reason. She's very straightforward about grades, and kind of strict about making it to class on time, but she's very accessable outside of class. 10/10 Would take her again

I had such an enjoyable time in Professor Gish's class. She is really fun and the workload is just right. She also has a giant chest tattoo of her cat, which is incredible. The cat's name is Megatron btw.

Professor Gish is an absolute amazing professor! Everything in the class is laid out in a very easy to understand way. She is extremely forgiving and understanding when it come to her students. The class heavily uses the textbook but there is a free online version she encourages student to utilize. There are great opportunities for extra credit. :)

Fantastic professor. Extremely lenient grader, allowing you to turn in anything late as long as you let her know. Hilarious and incredibly personable. Very nice, but will call you out on your BS. The most insightful person I've met. Genuinely the best professor, and teacher, I've ever had!

One of my favorite professors all time. She comes off straight forward and what she expects from you. However, gives you plenty of time (24Hr notice), understanding and best of all looks for any reason to give you extra credit.Tattooed and a cat lover with a Ms. Frizzle vibe. 10/10. If you fail, you didn't utilize the syllabus, thats on you not her

Gish was very interesting, helpful, and honest. her class isn't hard at all but keep up with your attendance and stay off your phone at all cost! seriously, she's a great professor, I'd love to be in her class again. work mode: EASY. She may sometimes come off as rude though but she usually doesn't mean it.

Gish was hands down my favorite professor. She's kind, caring, understanding, funny, and overall a great person. She genuinely helped motivate me to push through the semester and get out of bed in the morning. Her classes are very exciting, and I highly recommend her as a professor. She's a very reasonable professor in a lot of ways too. THE BEST!

Kathleen is a fantastic prof - hilarious, personable, and super understanding. The class has a textbook, but she encourages free online versions. Definitely utilize unstuckstudy for study prep along with the syllabus - it'll make this engaging class a breeze.

She really got me interested in sociology and was very understanding when I wasn't able to meet deadlines for a period of time. She is an amazing professor and I was actually able to skip doing one of the two bigger assignments because I had finished everything else.

Sociology in general challenges everything you think you know about being human, if you're not open minded going in, you're going to hate the class. Kathleen is a fantastic prof. and I always left class feeling like I learned something valuable. PS she can be a bit loud, but they are the funniest professor I've had. Loves telling stories!

Professor Gish was undeniably kind. She took great care in all of her communications and left detailed, insightful feedback. Assignments were not confusing, but did allow for some critical thinking and research. Overall, great class, and an even better professor.
