she is a great teacher i loved her. if you want to know what college is really about take her. she is the best
Awsome teacher. She is very well organized and always willing to help. She does have rules that she expects you to keep, but there are no surprises. If you don't miss class and participate, you will do fine.
i really love this teacher.. she's a great teacher. but it's hard to get good grades but her grading is really really fair.. if your paper deserves an A she will definitely give an A. and you'll learn a lot in her class. she's very nice and helpful but she gives a lot of homework.
Amazing teacher! I took her this past semester and absolutely loved her classroom. It's not the easiest class nor the hardest. She's very clear about what she expects and prepares you well for writing. Lot's of writing in this class!
Her cholce of material got very boring. Too much time on one subject and did not always grade fairly. She was clear & gave good notes, but didn't always allow you your own perceptions. Nice lady, but a stickler without inspiring. Wouldn't take her class again.
She dropped me w/o telling me for a month! Worst teacher ever!!!
Wow. She is a horrible teacher to take. Her readings and topics in class are retarted. She will only respect her own views on paper. Her lectures will make one fall asleep. She is anal. I am very glad that i dont have to sit through her hellsih class again. Clearly most of the ratings of her are from brown nosers. Because this is from the heart.
You'll either love her or you'll hate her. Unfortunately, Green's brilliance goes over the heads of many students. While she seems somewhat wasted teaching lower level classes, she'd be better appreciated on the graduate level. Every serious English major SHOULD take her class. She will help focus your writing most effectively.
youll either like her or hate the hell out of her...i didnt like her cause i just didnt like the topic she taught. it was super boring!! and for the papers she just expects to much. although i will say she is a brilliant woman!
Very up-to-date on the latest teaching techniques - from using a purple pen on grading to showing non-perfect work as examples to the class. Very approachable and helpful in and out of class. She gives good advice to English majors and greatly helps your writing. Challenging, but you will get a lot out of the class. Down-to-earth and very smart.
Hey, I thought she was a great professor. She is brillant and allows careful discussion of the topics on hand. So, I recommend her for any english class you need. But just remember to put in the work and you'll do fine.
The WORST I've ever had. Her style is very "High School" (group discussion, dynamic, etc) but do not teach you how to analyze the author’s book, how to interpret his/her words, his/her thoughts. She will never guide you, tell you or give you effective tools on how to write an good essay. She’s just there to grade them.
THis was one of the most challenging classes I've had yet. She's tough, but she's fair. She's genuinly interested in the students not only learning, but also enjoying literature and writing. Be ready to work because slackers WILL NOT make it in this class. I'm a better writer for it. LOVE U MS. GREEN!
Dr. Green tends to kind of wander throughout her lectures, but lectures are rare. She has really high expectations, but she should. Tons of reading, a lot of interpersonal skills needed to pass her class. Wont walk you through how to write an essay or how to develop arguements.
Dr. Green has high expectations, but she will help you in her office hours if you are stuck. Excellent techniques.
I've taken both her 1A and Women's Lit classes, and I hope to take her 1B class. She's NOT easy - and you have to write and read your butt off if you want to succeed. But it's worth the challenge. She's fair, helpful and approachable. I felt like her classes are worth the heavy workload - I feel very prepared to tackle higher English courses!
she is a good teacher and even though you read a lot the readings are mostly interesting. the discussions are great and i would recomend her women in literature class.
Her teaching is university-level, perfect for English majors. If you want a good challenge, take her! I learned so much from her in one semester and it pushed me to become a better writer. She can be nitpicky about certain things but it's all for your own learning.
Just commenting to support this professor and all the mentioned supporting comments. They all couldn't be more right. SHE IS GREAT.
Really is passionate about film and film theory. Uses approachable material that is exciting and interesting. While she may seem intimidating, she isnt. Really cares about student success. See her in office hours.
Most lifechanging professor at PCC! she is amazing! her class is so interesting & she lets you reflect your personality in your work. WARNING: her class is hard though. she will challenge you & set high expectations. JUST AMAZING though...really, no words! take her if your serious about the class.
Dr Green really is a great teacher!! One of my favorite teachers at pcc. Her class can be hard, but if your actually interested in learning then this class is great, if not take golf. She is a really great teacher I recommend taking her. She is the first english teacher that has actually helped me out and made the class interesting.
Prof. Green is one of the most genuine teachers that I've had attending PCC. She is very approachable and will help you if you have a problem while writing a paper. Her teaching technique is great and she is VERY helpful during office hours. It's crucial that you share your ideas in and/or out of class. She's really not that hard.
Very passionate about film and literature. Has great ways to get students intersted and wants them to succeed. Approachable during office hours. REAL LEGIT professor who knows her stuff through and through, she's the bees knees. Fiar grader too. I got a C, but that was completely my test taking skills fault, I know I could've done better.
Dr. Green is a phenomenal professor, who honestly wants you to do well in her class. It's not an easy class, you are required to think, interact, and do your fair share of research. Take her lab on writing, she expects academic level writing for all essays and papers. She gives you the option of a creative final which, is just awesome. The Best!
Yo, Dr. Green's dope. She sets the bar pretty high for students. Used to writing a paper the night of? Don't count on passing with anything higher than C. Very straightforward. Only problem I have is the group work. We all know the downsides of group work -- someone is always stuck carrying the group. That aside take her, she's a good professor.
Thought this professor was great! Sshe teaches you in any way she can. Doesn't give out much work. No tests other than midterm and final and a few essays. Just show up to class and you'll be fine.
I took her women's lit class and had a good time. She is a good teacher. She pushes you hard, sets the bar high but it is possible to get that high. We covered a lot of MLA and English 100. Very good, informative, and gets very engaged about the content. She is very helpful and willing to give you pointers. She has office hours and does good one-on-one mentoring. All in all a wonderful experience.
Professor Green is amazing. She is so helpful and inspiring and she really helps you become a better writer and reader. For women's lit she chooses great books! Her class isn't too difficult, if you do your work and participate in class discussions then you will do well. She is very passionate about teaching. Loved her.
very helpful
Love this teacher she opened my world to english. I never realized how much I love english classes until I learned all the basic rules in her class. Don't be discouraged if english isn't your best area this is your class.
Took the class because other classes were full. Only regret from this class is my grade. (B) In-class essay midterm and final, 5 page research paper, weekly response papers (1-2 pages. Weekly response papers were fairly fast to write and helps your formal analysis skills. Came out of the class with much stronger (and faster) writing skills.
Really tough on grading, but the intention is to make you better at what you do. I never got an A on her assignment even though I work my butt off. Although I didn't get an A, I felt that her criticism is really fair and in the end, made me a way better writer than I had before.
She doesn't like RMP, but I know if she read this she'd be pleased. She is in no way an "easy" teacher, she is an approachable and informative one. She uses updated teaching methods along with familiar course material for students to relate with. It was a very intense but awesome class, NOT easy.
So far my only B in PCC, but I learned a lot from her class. She is pretty hard. If you are good at writing, take her class. You learn a lot though.
She is a first-class professor. Constructive feedback and flowing lectures make her outstanding at PCC. Recommend taking any of her classes. Her disciplines are diverse and knowledge expansive. Great personality.
Who doesn't like Dr. Green?! Be prepared to dust off your printer because you're going to need it. She's incredibly helpful and LOVES giving constructive critism. Be open-minded. I've had her for two classes and I passed both with A's.
Dr. Green is the most amazing teacher at PCC. I have had 10 professors so far, and she is just truly inspiring. She challenges you, but cares about your success. If she starts to see you struggle, she will work really hard to try and motivate/help you get back on track. She has the most amazing connection with teach student, and truly cares.
very good, very helpful
Processor Green is a beautiful person. I am terrible at English she genuinely cares and wants her students to succeeded.
Very good professor and very helpful.
I took this class because I couldn't get into 1A, they were full. Best. Class. Ever. Dr. Green is so passionate about the books - it's contagious! I'm not even planning on teaching! She's very helpful when it comes to papers, she is patient with people who are rusty or haven't gotten everything they needed in 1A, like a full grasp of MLA format.
Super nice and extremely helpful, however she treats it like an English 1A class and gives a lot of essays, definitely don't recommend her if you hate writing.
Great teacher, very open for discussion. She is passionate about what she teaches.
Dr. Green is such an amazing professor! Her class is difficult, but you have to work for the grade that you want. If she sees you struggling, she will offer her help. She always gave the perfect advice and tips to guide the class and help develop our thesis and papers. She is a very generous grader. Best English teacher I've ever had!
Loved Dr. Green. She's patient, listens to student concerns, and grades based on the hard work you do and you're learning process, not necessarily the end result of your paper. She's great about breaking down the step by step to writing and encourages class discussion. 2 essay tests, 3 papers, a visual presentation, and lots of writing in-between.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had. She did not explain to me why I earned low essay grades, except that my writing needs more practice. She did not like me ,always dismissing my discussion ideas, and always skipped me during tutoring during class. Always marked me absent even though I was present. Retook with another prof. And got an A.
Kathleen Green is a like a God for me. I'm an international Student from Barcelona and she have been incredibly helpful. Thanks to her class and tips my writing style has improved a lot, and my culture on cinema has expanded surprisingly. She's a great teacher. Be participative, let it flow and work hard... work very hard.
Very great class on film. She's tough but you'll do well if you show your interest. She is always there to help at office hours
The semester hasn't ended but she's alright. You definitely have to work for the grade and participate. Favoritism plays a part as well and also can be very rude and sarcastic. I didn't find her that helpful at all but she's always there to help out and at office hours. I have a C; C on her grading scale is 79-74%.
I learned so much from Dr. Green. She has given me skills and insights that will make me ready for anything. She is inspiring, has information at her fingertips and she is super helpful. Come to class.. That is a must.
Not the best for a film class. Rather than letting the films speak for themselves and us develop responses after viewing, she explains the films pretty thoroughly, maybe a bit too much to where things are mentioned that aren't solidly communicated in the films. Also shuts people down when they're trying to explain their own response to films.
If she like you, you will do well. If not good luck. She portrays herself because she is a professor that she is better then you and that you are beneath her.
I loved Professor Green. As long as you do the homework, show up to class and participate, this class shouldn't be too hard to do well in. So far, she was the best professor i've had at PCC. She is funny and sweet and actually seemed like she cared about wanting her students to do well and succeed.
I loved taking English 1B with Prof. Green. She is just a wonderful teacher and genuinely cares about education and literature. Super knowledgeable and funny. Her classes are always interesting and she doesn't completely overload you with homework assignments. One of my favorite teachers at PCC.
So quick to reply to questions. Really wants her students to pass. She is AMAZING. Hands down my favorite prof @ PCC. Participate in discussions. Ask questions. You will be a better writer for it. She chooses inspirational topics. She stays up to date with the times. This is NOT an Autopilot course. She is VERY active and Engaged TAKE HER
Her online teaching method is incredible! She will always give you constructive criticism and encourage you to do your best!
I took English 1A with her. It seemed like she didn't like to help her students. She would say things like you need to turn on your brain, pay attention, where are you when you are in class, etc. She isn't very helpful, especially when you don't understand something. Also, there is no clear grading criteria, and the grading is very subjective.
too much reading and grades essays subjectively. don't take.
Dr. Green was a great instructor and gave good feedback. There were five essays in total: two argumentative essays, a novel analysis, a research paper, and a final timed essay on a (somewhat) chosen topic. It is an intense class with many small due dates, but If you stick to the schedule and participate in group discussions you will do well.
Really interesting class. Talk to her in office hours if you need help, she is really helpful. You do five essays total, two in-class, and three take-home.
I personally LOVED professor Green. I took her online English course and during this course the pandemic happened and she has to convert her other classes into online which was a handful for her, but she handled it amazingly. She is such a caring teacher and truly wants you to succeed. She even set up one on one zoom meetings if you needed help.
Great professor. Even though we went online due to Covid the work remained pretty similar. We had five essays and mini discussion boards. Super sweet but do well on the essays as they are basically all that you are graded on.
Mrs. Green is one of the sweetest people I have ever met! She loves group work but is an extremely fair grader. Honestly, if you somewhat try and meet the minimum page requirements, you will get a good score. I never got below 95% on any of my essays (and tbh some weren't very good). She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed!!
I didn't have to take a zoom class for this teacher. We had a total of four essays for this class. She is a great teacher. Replies quickly to emails and replies often. :D
The grade only depends on your essays. So, even if you don't wanna do your homework it does not affect your grade. However, it helps you with your essays. Literally, I'm not very good with essays, so I tend to do my homework diligently without missing out on them. I don't wanna take her again as the grading technique was not up to my expectations.
She is super helpful (especially during Zoom conferences!) and really clear about how I can improve. Passing her class makes me feel like I can succeed in college and beyond. Very interesting and relevant topics.
This class in particular is mainly graded on your essays. Homework definitely helps you with your essays but it does not go toward your grade as much as I would have liked. She is a tough grader, I never received an A on a paper the entire semester (my highest was a B+). Her feedback was just okay. Overall, she's not the best or the worst.
I would consider this as one of my more "difficult" classes of the semester. The work and grading criteria is straightforward, however, she is definitely a tough grader. Your grade mainly depends on your essays and there is a lot of busy work but they greatly help with your essay planning. An A is possible but you have to put in a lot of work.
The professor herself is a great person and I can tell that she really cares about reaching out to make sure you're getting any help that you need. There's a lot of essays and work that Hass to be done in order for you to get an A. If younaren't up for much of a challenge I wouldn't suggest this class. Overall it's manageable.
English is a challenging class for me. However, she really helped me. Lots of flexible office hours and encouragement!
Really need to commit so if you don't have a strong work ethic, I wouldn't recommend. She's friendly and open to office hours, but otherwise she isn't the most help...
An A is doable if you listen to her advice of keeping up with the prep work. Better to do things gradually instead of cram it all. Different materials to read so be ready to need books. Wants thesis-driven essays which calls for more free writingso youll need to either have a lot of creative ideas or good execution of writing skills. Achieveable.
You need to work hard to get a good grade in her class.
I have a bit of trauma from my high school English teachers, but Prof. Green is an angel. I wouldn't consider myself to be a great writer but she was so encouraging and I feel more confident in my writing skills due to her feedback. If you put in the work, you'll do great in the class.
I took this class asynchronously for the Fall 2022 semester and it was very enjoyable and great learning experience. The assignments were spaced out evenly and I was given enough time to work on and complete each essay.
(struggling with a mental disability) Actively told me my input in the class didn't pertain to the subject, then proceeded to single me out and make an example out of me. Pretentious, passive-agressive, and one of the WORST english instructors i've ever had. BEWARE!!!
Professor Green is a very nice teacher who really does care for her students. This course had a lot of reading and papers due what felt like every week. You don't have much time to write a paper, and when you turn it in it's tough to figure out what exactly you should do to get a grade above a B. Though, she does offer options to rewrite essays.
Dr. Green shows true compassion and understanding for her students. Her feedback on your work is always incredibly helpful and truly helps you to do your absolute best. Her class is extremely well-organized and as long as you keep up with the work, even her Winter class is completely and totally manageable. Take her whenever you can!
Took a winter semester for her class, which had a heavy work load but was manageable. Reading is what took up the most time in my opinion. If you take winter courses, be prepared to be doing back-to-back essays. She provides one of the stories you'll be reading, but for the other two, you're on your own. She was very nice and gave good feedback.
MY QUEEN! took her honors 1A class and it was really nice. she gives AMAZING feedback on ALL your work. she truly believes in each students potential and is super kind. she grades really quick and will take late work. she can be a bit scary and a harsh grader but if you listen to her feedback YOU WILL DO GOOD! dont use AI lol.
Essays are 80% of your grade and homework is 20% and there is not much work given. When given essays, she does not give any type of rubric, or example essay, and gives a very bland description of what she wants. Essays are graded very subjectively. For the third essay, you won't even know what she wants you to write about. Don't take her.
I highly recommend Prof. Green. She sees potential in her students and does her best to set them up for the rest of their academic career. The workload wasn't bad, just pay attention in class and get your work done with some effort and you'll be fine. Make sure to communicate with her and do not use ai lol she can tell
really kind and sweet. lot of reading in the beginning of the semester and one required textbook. couple of papers and group projects, but they're graded very leniently. gives good feedback on essays! lot of classes were boring and only talked about mla citations. cons aside, prof green is really cool and I would take the class again
Doesn't give any type of useful feedback on your work and also doesn't help you at all. She will say you don't understand something instead of trying to help you. HORRIBLE ESSAY GRADER. The essay prompts get vaguer and vaguer and it also seems like she gave up on grading towards the end, she just hands you your grade on the essay and that's it
Prof Green was a good professor! I took her class online, and she is very good at communicating. She is always willing to help out during office hours and will take time to make sure all your questions are answered. However, she is strict with grading essays and sometimes docks points on unnecessary things.
Confusing grading system. Sometimes you get feedback, sometimes you don't. She's not 100% clear at times and her essay prompts are vague. You don't have a lot of homework, and the assingments are easy. She's definitely easy to pass but if you want an A, you'll have to try hard
She isn't a hard professor, just strict with her essay grading. I took the 6 week course online and we had 4 essays (2 books and 1 play). Take notes on your readings. She is a tough grader with essays and her prompts for the essays are detailed. Her feedback is mid. Communicate with her if you need anything, she replies fast!😊
Very rude and passive aggressive when the class makes a mistake. She gives no guides or rubrics whatsoever especially on essay's. Essays are basically all of your grade. I had a 98% in the class and got a 84% on one of my essays and it dropped my grade down to a 87%. She's very unhelpful and doesn't give enough activities to prepare you for essays.
Worst professor ever, and never take her class if you want a B
The class uses rich materials with deep themes. I struggled at first, but if you work hard and reach out, you can get an A. Her feedback makes you think, which can be frustrating, but it helped me learn to analyze books and texts in a new, valuable way. It's tough but rewarding.
She has prompts for four essays that make up your entire grade. The first essay is on a 300-page book. The second is on a 100-page play. The third connects the book to a poem, and the fourth connects both the book and play to another poem.
I get why people rate her kind low as she is a tough grader and can come out kinda aggressive with how she writes. You gotta ask for feedback on your essays and legit make her give you want she wants. Just email her what u can do to improve ur essays and you'll get an A.
Failed my presentation that I gave on the second day of class even though I volunteered to go on the first day and worked hard on it. I have never failed a presentation in my life and I don't think I deserved a 50%. I was expecting at least a low B. I dropped the class immediately.
Do not recommend. Important essays are written in class with not enough amount of time, do not give out enough assignments/options for students to boost their grades up, lectures fast, do not give students enough time to take notes. Unless you are able to write as fast and brainstorm as quick as The Flash moves, do not take.
Professor Green is a very knowledgeable, caring, and understanding professor. I took English C1000H and the class mainly revolved around our research project, which she gave us much time to complete. I feel that I learned so much from her about how to assess society through our coursework and her lectures. I would 100% take her again.
Professor Green is not for the weak! She's a very caring professor who takes the time to get to know her students. I feel like I grew a lot as a writer from taking her class. Yes, she's cutting with her feedback. But, I feel much more confident about my future essays. She knows a lot about everything, so ask her about your major!
The subjects were rushed, and the feedback provided was not very helpful. The instructor was often condescending and did not respond well to criticism or questions. When help was requested, support was limited. Overall, this made the learning experience frustrating. Would not recommend.
I had a great first semester at PCC with Professor Green! I was originally nervous going into an honors English class as a freshman not really knowing what to expect, but she provided lots of guidance and insightful lectures! Don't be afraid to communicate with her because she is very kind I feel. If you get the opportunity to take her class do it!
Professor Green is a very helpful person, and her passion for teaching shows through her lectures. Her writing assignments were graded quite heavily, but she encouraged independent thinking with each of her assignments. I enjoyed her lectures, as well as her personality!
