Good instructor. Helpful. Some of the material can be a little boring. Tests (3) can be hard because there is a lot of material to learn but if you prepare well you can earn an A. There is also homework due every usually by Monday midnight.

She goes straight from her slides, you must put alot of effort in her class or you will find yourself lost at times. A lot of work, but overall great teacher for this course.

She is the best professor! She is extremely helpful. Her class is hard, but it needs to be since she is preparing you for Intermediate I. Accounting frameworks is a LOT of work. The CLASS is hard, not the teacher so much. She knows her stuff, and she ALWAYS makes herself available during office hours, after class, etc. She even meets us at Sbux for 3 hour sessions to help walk us through the two MONSTER projects. The material isn't that bad, it's the quantity. The lady is sharp!

Prof Harris is an extremely dedicated and caring teacher. She will answer emails really quickly and even offered us her phone number if we needed help on anything. but soometimes she can be a little too sarcastic. Not that bad of a class, and should be an easy B at least. Definitely would take her.

This is a hard class, lots of work!! 2 hard projects,2 homework per week.difficult exams. She is a good professor and helpful. Is a good class if you want to have good fundation for inter Accounting. But she expect you to KNOW your stuff! if you dont, she does make you feel bad some times even stupid. over all good professor.

Two online projects that each take around 20 hrs to complete. 3 Exams each about 50% multiple choice and the other 50% work out problems. Exam 2 is the hardest. She is nice on her grading though, you'll most likely get partial points on work out questions if you gave it an honest attempt. LOTS of homework. I would take her again.

Harris is one of the best professors I have ever had. She can be intimidating to some but its just here personality but she is actually really nice and she is very helpful. I literally get answers from emails the same day, most of the time same hour, sometimes in a matter of 1 minute! Class difficulty depends on the student. Its a "weed out" class.

If you want to have a chance at getting a good grade in this course attending every single class is a decent start. If you want to get an A like I did, read every single word in the chapters, do the online assigments, practice practice practice and you will be fine. The materials are not difficult to comprehend. However, when it comes to the test, you must REALLY know what you are doing. They can be tricky at times but not impossible. I like Dr. Harris because the way she teach and the way she test is the greatest way to make you succeed in accounting. That being said, you have to be prepared before every class, she will go over the slides so fast and then solve as many book questions as possible. Her test are really hard, but very clear. Hands down, without a doubt, the best professor I've ever had. While she is demanding, she is very helpful and will happily answer any question within 24 hours. If you want to be coddled, she is not the professor for you. That being said, if you want to be coddled, consider a different career.

Acct 3366 is a hard class. Learning the material is key to passing, the exams are exactly what she posts on blackboard. The Lucky trial balance, etc. She is the most caring professor. Don't be shy to email her. Don't listen to the bad comments, exams are easy if you practice as she teaches material in class.

By far one of my favorite professors at UH. Yes, she does come off rude, but she is amazing! She cares for each one of her students to pass and succeed in life. She will time to time give out a pop quiz when she feels nobody knows the content right before the exam. The problems she does in class are what are on the exam. Overall just try in class.

Had a really great time in her class. This class came really easy to me somehow. I passed every exam with As and the 1st and final with over 100 and didn't study half as hard as others did. Int 1 was a diff story. But Harris is super nice and although she comes off snarky, shes funny. Just can't be sensitive. Shes been helpful to my career too!

Honestly, if you do the work and show up (especially for exam 3 for the majority of the content was only covered in class) the you'll be fine. I genuinely learned from this class and managed an A. Show up to class if you can - a lot more in depth than book. Exams are not multiple choice so learn the material.

This class is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Professor Harris is tough but she truly cares about her students. Put in the work and you will do good. HWs are pretty easy, quiz almost every Sunday. Projects werent too bad. Exam is all open ended. I recommend doing the practice problems and taking good notes because there is no review.

The worst thing about Dr. Harris is that she doesnt teach every accounting course offered at UH. Other than that, shes a top notch Professor. Please do not listen to the people who tell you she's awful! It may come that way because she says things that most teachers dont, but she literally hands you all the pieces you need to do well on her exam. If you study early on you should do well. Biggest thing is to have already reviewed the content before class. Anytime I wouldn't read the chapter ahead of time I would be so lost the whole time because she goes FAST. I recommend making flashcards for the first exam.

Accounting never came easy for me. If you want to do good, you need to read and practice in this class alot. Harris is a very practical woman! She will help if you did the work on your part. Shes honestly an excellent professor and I enjoyed her lectures. She expects you to have reviewed the material before class and will call you out if you havent, but she warns you ahead of time. If youre sensitive, then her tough love teaching style probably isnt for you. She lectures at a quick pace so come to class prepared.

Her way of teaching is outstanding. She knows how to teach and expand your knowledge. She keeps asking too many questions in the class and provide an extremely important notes to make sure you understand. It is not a class where you finish it and forget the material. I used her notes in intermediate accounting too! And it was awesome.

Dr. Harris is amazing. She appears to be strict but she really wants to help you learn and understand the material. She demands hard work. Dr. Harris can come off as an aggressive and blunt person in the way she asks questions in class, but her teaching helps you know the material and she is reasonable (e.g. 10 pt curve on exams, provides plenty practice exercises). Like many have said, practice, practice, practice! If you are proactive and come to class prepared, don't freak out.

She is tough but you can do it. I took this class 3 years after financial accounting needless to say I didnt know s**t on day one. She will scare you because its true, lot of people will fail. If you dont do the work you will suffer. If you put in the work before going into class you will do great. Despite what you read she does care.

Professor Harris is definitely a different professor. She is extremely tough with her tests but they are fair. She gives a lot of practice example in lecture that will prepare you for her tests. If you do not read, do the exercises, and take initiative to get all you can done before class, you will not have fun. TAKE HER SUMMER CLASS! Harris is not an easy class. Always do her bb practice questions and ask DUMB questions. I took her summer class and because we only had 4 weeks, she made sure to hit the main points! Questions and lectures, that's all you need!!! And she seems mean, but she's actually pretty nice. Exam 1 is really important, its the easiest.

She is VERY blunt, and almost scary. You do not get graded on participation or attendance, but it 100% matters because she asks questions in class. If you're shy, sit in the back. I passed my exams by watching her 'short exercise' videos. Homework was just a burden to me cause tests were open ended and how SHE teaches. Loved it though.

Harris is a savage in a good way. I done goofed in her class and still pulled a B so shows she is great in the way she teaches. Don't be scared, watch lectures ahead of time and participate in class. Professor Harris is a great professor, she can be a bit aggressive in her comment and teaching, but she wants you to succeed in her class and your career. She responds fast when you email her about homework or any problem. Her grading criteria are apparent, and the tests are not extremely difficult if you attend her class.

Don't be intimidated by her, she is truly caring just not sunshine type. She provides a lot of info before the first day of class which is a great if you want pass the class (especially w/ an A+). I suggest read the book CH's & watch all her videos for all CH/problems, so that you can understand concepts, plz ask Q's & take notes of any advices.

This class isn't difficult if you study and stay on top of your connect assignments and watch the lectures. She is very quick to respond to emails and her tutors do a great job providing help to those who need it. You will have a quiz every week on the lecture/ chapter that is discussed so come to class prepared. Overall a wonderful professor.

She seems tough which she can be but ultimately she cares and wants everyone to understand the material. You are going to have to put in the work and listen to everything she says especially when she assigns exercise videos for each chapter. The biggest help to me was printing out questions and creating study packets for exams.

Professor harris is a great professor, I highly reccomend taking her class if you are serious about accounting. Her lectures are very entertaining and informative. She is a no bs kind of person so be prepared for a hard ass. She is easily the best professor I've ever taken.

Professor Harris is a great professor! She wants you to really understand the material and to succeed that's why she gives so much work in her class. It is not an easy class. If you want to succeed, you need to study hard and read the textbook. Now I can definitely say that I know so much about accounting because of this professor.

Dr. Harris is the best professor I've ever taken. She was really helpful, and did her best to ensure you comprehend the material. Make sure to watch assigned videos before coming to class since she'll quiz you on those. Be open-minded about her unique teaching style, keep practicing and asking questions. Highly recommend if you like accounting.

Very hard class. Loved Professor Harris, she knows the material very well and is an excellent teacher. Participation quizzes every class, she knocks half of them out at the end of the semester. Pay attention and write notes, should be a hard earned A.

exams matter in this class as it counts toward 70% of the total grade. However, the exam is not very challenging but you need to know all the basis. You have 3 hours which is always enough time. You need to thick skin to get thru her lecture. But I'd say shes a caring professor since she always reply to emails quickly and offer feedbacks

Professor Harris is a tough one. But with her class you are able to grasp the fundamentals much more in-depth which will help in future classes. She teaches the class based on people's mistake (as most often those are the mistakes made in exam), which often is misunderstood with being rude with students. Don't take this class with Cost!

In the beginning I was so stressful due to lack of knowledge from acct 2301 and 2302. I took these classes at another college, which was very easy to get an A but you end up with dont know anything). But when I met Prof Harris, she taught me alot. Everytime I emailed to her to ask about the hw , she response super fast.

I ended up with an A with all of the exam above 95. Redo the excerises she gave on canvas and watch short videos so you will be fine. The final exam for me was easier than exam 1 and 2. Exam 3 is easy, it just about keep practice and ask questions. Lots of people get an A in my class because they just need to practice all of the hw that she gave.

Only 2 things for recommend : do all the hw on canvas. Focus on the balance sheet section on MC graw hill since its very helpful. Email to her the questions you have if you scared to ask in person. She will reply super fast with very details answer. Acct 3366's tutors is not a good option since they busy to playing phone while teaching other people

3 exams and cumulative final, best professor bc she actually teaches and is passionate abt accounting. this class requires a lot of work, but she will help u understand SO MCUH abt accounting and is extremely beneficial for upper level accting classes. HAVE to study chapter prior to class, definitely participate in class,1 HW due every 2-3 weeks

ngl she cooked me in class a couple times but honestly it helped me do better; I'd take her again just bc of the fact that she makes up for her scariness by teaching really well.

More old school than the usual Bauer professor. She might not be the nicest professor, but she really is the best I have taken. If you have thin-skin... good luck. Show up to class prepared. Be invisible if you can, but be prepared. Her class had the best lectures, and she has a wealth of knowledge to give if you want it.

Professor Harris is tough but incredibly knowledgeable. Attending class and actively participating is a must. Use unstuckstudy and other resources to ace the exams. Her class is challenging but rewarding.

Harris was an interesting professor. People say she's rude,but truly she just very blunt (Maybe too blunt for some). From day one you will need to LOCK IN, the material at first seemed really hard and intimidating, but after you watch the videos and practice, it was honestly really simple. The class is not an easy A, but it's rewarding at the end.

The lectures on Chapters 1-5 are great for memory and understanding. However, this course is challenging, and you need to study them because you should practice these problems for the four exams, which are based on similar questions. However, some work required is not likely used in the real world. In the end, you might consider taking this class.

Professor cares but believes in Tough Love. She gives extra credit on each exam. As long as you practice what she teaches you should be fine.

I would say it was not an easy class, and she went over the lectures extremely fast, so be prepared for a lot of self-study. 3 tests and 1 accumulated final, which I think the final is the hardest since you have to memorize everything since the beginning of the class. But overall, she's a great professor.

she can be a bit mean at times but she really knows her stuff and can answer any question you have either in class or over email and will make sure you understand. the material itself can be a bit confusing to catch onto but with time it'll stick (just do practice problems and send them to her to check)

Her reputation is correct. Shes a hard "loving" teacher, but in a way, it truly helps you in so many ways. I've seen people complain that its unnecessary. Thats true but unlike most other professors, she actually teaches what is on tests and wil ALWAYS reply to any questions via email. Don't answer questions unless you know you are right, tho lol.

I can see where these reviews are coming from. She definitely scared me at first, but she just wants the best for her students. She pushes her students to study and send their work to her, so she can check and correct mistakes before the exam. She prepares us more than enough for the exam. No need to be a genius for this class, just do the work.

Great professor. I understand why others might not like her, but she's like that because she genuinely wants us to succeed. She actually made me lock in when it came to accounting. I will say, don't come in without knowing anything. Go over the concepts briefly from the textbook before coming to class. She also often gives short quizzes.

I took this class along with Cost ACCT, Finance and this class was the least of my worries and was the 3rd easiest out of my five classes. You must understand the foundation of ACCT to do well on this class. Don't memorize, understand; otherwise, you're going to struggle. Watch Harris videos and do her practice Q's because she makes the exams.
