This class is definetly worth taking. It is easy and interesting. Not too much work either, just readings. She is very easy and offers a lot of extra credit. Take this class!

We had interesting guest speakers almost everyday of the semester and Heide offered our class field trips and extra credit. Overall it was one of my favorite crim. classes I've taken thus far. There are 3 exams over the duration of the semester and if you study and take good notes, that's a guaranteed A.

She offers 1 ec point 4 each day and 3 for registering clickers on time. the gst speakers are boring. just copy all q's that she asks in beginning of class and poll q's. also know the bold terms on side of pages. she will email you what willl be on the tests.

There was so much cool stuff to see in this class, dead bodies, weapons, the swat team, tour of jails and a prison. If you write down what she puts on the powerpoint u have the test in your hands. I got an A+. Extra credit just for showing up. Take this class you wont regret it!

This class was pretty easy. Material was extremely interesting. Dr. Heide usually put me to sleep, but she has guest lecturers for most of the classes, so no problem. Clicker points help and she gives several extra credit opportunities. Easy A.

Dr. Heide is pretty easy. But, you will learn a lot. Attendance is the key here. Half of test questions come from in class lectures. The other half from major points in textbook. Lot of guess lectures. It takes her a while to get class started. She is very nice and fair. I would love to take more classes with her!!!

Dr. Heide is a wonderful professor. She is very knowledgeable on her subjects, and her classes are very interesting. She can talk alot at times, but overall her class is far from boring. You must come to class to take daily clicker quizes, but they are generally pretty easy....I highly recommend her!

Great class. I really enjoyed Doctor Heidi's lectures. I found almost all of the speakers fascinating. The class is a bit long so don't show up sleepy, while interesting most of the time there is one or two guest speakers that will make you drift off. Tests are simple enough, one paper, mostly participation. Show up all the time and you'll do well.

Dr. Heide is excellent! She's an expert in the criminal justice field and brings in outstanding guest speakers. The book is an easy read. Everything on her tests are covered in class or in the book, so earning a good grade is very reasonable. I highly recommend her class.

She kept the class interesting and interactive. She makes sure that the students are understanding everything and she makes sure that everything is CRYSTAL CLEAR. The clicker questions help out your grade a lot so coming to class everyday IS MANDATORY! But this is class is so fun and interesting , that it makes you want to come to class everyday!!

Great Professor, I definetly recommend taking her. Extra Credit Field trips that I went on in this class were to the FDLE crime lab, Jail, and Prison. Police ride along was also extra credit. It was very cool and interesting! Easy class, I got an A+ with all the extra credit.

Easy class, but so annoying to sit through. Some of the guest speakers were idiots. Clicker questions were so annoying and computer would always freeze and delay class. But easy overall, only 3 tests and a paper. Plus extra credit for police ride alongs and field trips

Her lectures are always interesting, and she brings in a lot of speakers with strong backgrounds in the criminal justice field (defense attorneys, police officers, a SWAT team member, an FBI agent, etc)!!! :) The fieldtrips she offers are also a lot of fun!! Class is very very interesting. However, she is soooo redundant, and not to mention she uses up all of the time everytime. Great lectures, very entertaining and fieldtrips are great. Tests are difficult. I am a criminology major with a 4.0 i got 90s on the tests, average was 70ish, but lots of extra credit opportunities

Awesome class, I highly recommend taking it! Very interesting speakers that give an excellent introduction to the Criminal Justice system. Only issues I had were that she was really annoying and the class was really long. Field trips were great, and tests were easy as long as you attended lectures and answered the clicker questions.

I found the tests to be very hard and classes would drag on forever. With that being said she was a good professor and some of the speakers were very interesting.

AMAZING CLASS. There is a guest speaker every class, and they are almost always interesting. We get people from the SWAT team,Police dept. etc. Really fun class. Exams are not that difficult, but it's very important to read, because while the class is really interesting, they are only about 25% of the exams. Mandatory attendance.

Very boring class but is easy if you read the material before you come to class. There is a before and after lecture quiz every class so read the book/review the definitions before you come to class. I scored a D, and 2 B's on the exams and finished the class with an A-. Do all the extra credit she offers and do decent on the quizzes.

Professor Heide is the bomb! As far as a "pre-req" style criminology elective goes, I found this class to be extremely fulfilling and interesting! We had a guest speaker, who was relevant to the current topic we were reading about, in every single class! Out of the entire semester, she directly lectured only a handful of times. Tests are easy.

The class itself is very interesting. We have quest speakers for all but 2 lectures. The tests are decent, if you study a few days ahead of time, you'll be fine. I really liked the class but not so much the instructor, but thankfully, she only actually spoke twice. It is a really neat course to take no matter your major.

Make sure to read the assigned pages before you do the short online quizzes. Attend class regularly, there are quizzes at the end of each lecture you participate in by using your clicker. It was a pretty interesting course, a lot of speakers and powerpoints. There are bonus point opportunities given. Also, DON'T use your cell phone!

This was probably the most interesting class I've taken. Most of the lectures were taught by a guest speaker which include people in the criminal field, like judges, police, SWAT members, etc. Clickers at the beginning and end of class, so you must go and stay the whole time. Test aren't bad if you study. Never any homework. I highly recommend.

In this class you will receive lectures from different speakers every week, it is a really interesting class if you are really into the criminal justice field, there are internship and job opportunities too as the class includes guest speakers from the FBI, Police department, D.A's office etc. Attendance and quizzes are a must. Passing is easy

This class was super easy. Just do your HW and go to class. There is lots of clicker questions and attendance is taken each class. The test are super easy as they are split half the reading required for that chapter and half comes from the guest speakers(no slides online for those) so pay attention and write notes and you are good to go.

I took Parricide online and it was an easy A. Very interesting class and the professor is awesome. I would recommend this class to anyone! I would definitely take her again. I got the book from book holders for a much cheaper price than what it was at the book store.

Took her Parricide class which was very easy and straight forward. She does have some lengthy lectures and videos to watch but if you pay attention you'll pass no problem. Grade is based on 3 short quizzes each week and 2 short discussion board posts each week. She is very knowledgeable about the topic which is pretty interesting to learn about.

I took her CCJ4933 Parricide class online. She is extremely knowledgeable and teaches from her personal experiences, not to mention she teaches out of her own book. This class is not a class you can slack on but it is very interesting which makes it easier to pay attention. I have loved it and actually learned something!

Dr. Heide's lectures are amazing and she brings in some of the best speakers I have ever seen. In-class quizzes are easy but don't even think of using your phone in class. Also, the homework can be inconsistent (might be due to Irma) but some weeks you can get half a chapter of reading for one class and the next week have to do 2 chapters.

Honestly this woman is a God in professors clothing. I took three undergraduate classes with her and am preparing to take her again at the masters level; she is brilliant and inspiring! Make sure to complete the readings (most are written by her and they are all worth the read)! I cant understand how she doesnt have a perfect 5. Best professor!

This is one of the best classes at the university, Textbooks are needed and their are quizzes due before every class that you need to know for the test. I took parricide online and I was overwhelmed with how harsh her grading was. I received 0/4, and 1/4 pts on discussions solely bc i didn't put the word count. Make sure you watch the lectures and read the textbook, because you will be tested on both even though the directions state it is only on the book. Great class, but she is very unforgiving.

Has attendance and clicker questions that are pretty easy. Her lectures are important to attend as she has 3 tests and questions from the interesting guest lectures are on the test. She gives a weekly quiz which is based on the class and reading of that week. Lot of extra credit and tests are direct . You will love some of the guest lectures.

Dr. Heide is one of the best professors in criminology at USF. For parricide, you have 3 quizzes and one discussion a week. It may seem like a lot but the stories are so interesting to read and watch in the videos. This class is still the best class I have taken and I took it 2 years ago. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Class content was very interesting but it was my mistake taking an almost 3 hour class at the end of the day. I definitely won't do that again. She let us have a break halfway but didn't help me. I felt like it was a lot of work and I remember a lot of people complaining about how she did the tests. She was funny and you can tell she cares.

Yes, you do have to read, but honestly, you could probably pass tests without having to read. Her online PP lectures are interesting and so are the videos you have to watch every week. She is a wonderful professor with tons of knowledge to share about her personal experiences and things that she is passionate about in Juvenile Homicide. She is respectful and easy to reach, you do have to read 2 chapters / week and have to get 80% attendance and 80% overall on reading quizzes each week to have the final be optional. LOVED HER

Professor Heide is incredibly knowledgeable and makes the class engaging. While the workload is manageable, attending lectures and using resources like Unstuck study can really help. Overall, a great class to take if you're interested in the subject.
