Best teacher I have ever had since being in college she gives so much extra credit that you cant help but pass her class the test are so easy

She is a good teacher and is very helpful. She gives extra credit to help and gives easy common sense quiz. Her class is easy if you just pay attention, take notes, and study it will be a easy A or B.

I love this teacher! She is really excited about sociology and the class is very interesting. She gives lots of extra credit and the out of class assignments are easy. She's a very fair grader.

Easy teacher. Test are short answers, fill in the blanks, and matching, but it's fairly easy if you study. Very fair grader. Always so excited about sociology. Take her if you want an easy A+. A LOT of extra credits.

This is one of the few classes that i really look forward to going to. She makes it so interesting b/c she's always so happy & excited & it makes you excited. Very easy going with assignments and missing stuff. Test are super easy if you know the material. Lots of extra credit definitely take Mrs. Jones for sociology i loved her !

Mrs. Jones is GREAT. She makes class so much fun with activities and movies. I loved her. She gives a lot of out of class assignments that take around an hour and can boost your grade. She gives you a lot of other grades, so it's easy to get an A. She will help you out with anything, even give you hints on tests and tons of extra credit.

Odd lady- but very willing to work with you. I hardly went to class cuz it was kinda boring, but I passed.

Mrs. Jones is an awesome teacher and is great for an easy A. The amount of extra credit she offers makes it easy to get a good grade. Attendence isn't mandatory but you are rewarded for coming to class. Little to no homework and the test are easy if you take the notes she writes on the board in class. Makes class fun and is always in a good mood.

This was the best teacher I've had at college! She's very energetic and informative. She really makes you want to learn. There is a good amount of work with papers and tests, but she makes it easy to do well. TAKE HER CLASS!

The best professor and is always willing to help. Take good notes and study them for the test and you will be fine. Most test were fill in the blank but you get points for just answering the question. She does give extra credit. I got an A in the class.

Best class offered at ECU. Mrs. Jones makes the class fun and tries to make it very relevant to the current times. She really tries to get you involved and enjoys it when you talk. If you take notes and listen in class, with a little bit of studying the class is a breeze. Everyone should take this class.

A very good teacher & you learn alot from her class. She hates cell phones & will stop class if she sees one..cant bring laptops to class. Her test are multiple choice and short answer the short answer always got me! overall a great teacher and teaches well =)

Atfirst I was a little worried with how scatter-brained her notes were, but then I learned it was just her passion unfolding for what she was teaching. The things she puts emphasis on in class are the things you need to know. She makes knowing them useful and relative to your own life. Will do anything for her students, LOVE HER!

Very nice teacher! Helps you out in so many ways that she can. Gives LOTS (and I mean lots) of extra credit. Puts you into groups for the semester and if you really like your group and get along with them well, and she sees that, you will definitely have no trouble making an A on the group activities and projects. Read chapters for tests!

Best prof Ive ever had in my whole life. I wish she was related to me shes so great and helpful. Like a second mother. Attendance is madatory but u enjoy the class so much it really doesnt matter. Im taking her again next semester for another class...easy A and alot of fun

Very good teacher.I loved every minute of this class and she always kept the class interesting. She is the best sociology teacher you can have. She loves what she teaches so it interests you and you are never bored. My class showed up everyday minus a couple people. Gives extra credit assignments on every test and the pop-quizzes are automatic 100's because they are usually group quizzes or the class together. It is impossible not to pass.

I LOVE KATHLEEN JONES! she is the BEST teacher you could have! Her class is not hard & she actually enjoys what she teaches which makes it 10x better! She offers extra credit & if you study a little bit you will do GREAT! i got an 98 in her class!

I'm a psych major, so I had some interest in Sociology before hand, but it wasn't anything I was too thrilled about in High School nor about taking last semester. I honestly loved having her and I am trying so hard to get her again. Attendance is mandatory, yes, but you'll want to go, it's her lecture notes that are the test questions.

Mrs. Jones is my favorite teacher of the semester. She explains each topic very well and as long as you take good notes in class, you will do well on her tests. We use the book a little but the tests are majority made from her lecture notes. Gives A LOT of extra credit & drops lowest test grade. TAKE HER!

TAKE MRS. JONES!!!! She is a really easy teacher who gives tons of extra credit up to 12 points added to tests and she drops the lowest test grade. She does go off topic A LOT so just study the lecture notes on blackboard and you will do fine in her class.

Easy Easy Easy as long as you study the lecture notes. I got As on every test and she offers plenty of extra credit for tests. You honestly don't even need the textbook, you won't use it. She takes random attendance 3 times in the form of "pop quizzes" that she pretty much tells you the answers to.

Ms. Jones is the best...her class is soo easy..Only 3 test and the mid term and final are take home...did not use the textbook nor did I read the novels and still got an A she gives tons of extra credit for attendance...take her class!!! Did I mention she is passionate about her students and will work with you in any way possible!!

AWESOME professor. Attendance is not mandatory, but it does help your grade a ton. TONS of extra credit, it's almost impossible to fail. Mrs. Jones is a GREAT teacher and an AWSOME person. I don't agree with some of the concepts taught in sociology but I actually wanted to go to her class. She lets you know straight up what will and won't be on her tests and if you go to class you don't need the textbook at all. I didn't buy it and got an A. I would take her again for any subject.

I had Mrs. Jones for gender studies and sociology and I love her! The class goes by so fast because she is fun and exciting! Both her classes are interesting and I highly recommend her!!

Very good teacher.. You get extra credit oppurtunities on each test. only 4 & you can drop your lowest test grade at the end of the semester. I llike the dicussions we have. and she tells you what's going to be on the test and posts all lecture notes to blackboad.. I'd reccommend her

Really good teacher. She gives a lot of extra credit for the 4 tests she administers. The fourth test is optional and she will drop the lowet test grades. Go to class and listen to what she says to study and you will have a forsure A.

This class is extremely easy. Attendance is not mandatory and you could probably get by just by reading the lecture notes. She tells you exactly what will be on her tests. She mostly just talks in class, which can get kind of boring. She is very open to everyone's opinion. It's basically a common sense class. I got an A+

She's one of the best professors I had this semester. Her Women Studies class is super easy. It's interesting if you like to know about women's rights. Everything is take home except one vocab test and pretty much easy. I also had her for Sociology. She tells you what's in the test and what pages to read. I would definitely recommend her!!!

I loved her! She made the class interesting and made you look forward to the class. The tests are from her notes and the textbook. I had a slow start but she takes away your worst test grade because she only counts 3 of the 4 tests. Her attendance is random and is only group quizzes that are really easy. I recommend her for anyone! Easy A!

Kathy J is such a nice, cool and easy teacher. She gives a lot of extra credit so its an easy A. Take her class because it's fun and easy. Trust me.

My all time favorite teacher. I took her 3 hour night class and time flew by. She is so nice and entertaining. She is very clear while teaching and gives lots of extra credit. Tests are pretty easy if you study and actually attend class. YOU MUST TAKE THIS CLASS!

ATTENDANCE: Not mandatory, gives attendance bonuses & pop quizzes(Group/A for effort-drops 2 at end) a lot. WORK: 4 writing assignments, fulfill length requirements you'll get an 100 & an extra credit assignment for each test! TESTS: 4 (40Q) Very easy. Just read lecture notes. FINAL: (90Q) Exact questions from previous test. Replaces lowest test.

Hands down, one of the best professors I've ever had. If her class is open, TAKE IT! The first day she lets you know she means business- no cell phones, and you're not allowed to leave early unless you let her know. She also doesn't allow laptops unless you sit in the first row. The class is SO FUN though and if you study you WILL get an A

My favorite professor so far at ECU. She's interesting, engaging, answers every and any question you may have, and just overall wants you to succeed. I'm taking her again next semester just because I loved her so much.

Professor Jones is awesome! I had no interest in sociology whatsoever going into the course but she made it really interesting and engaging. The tests are pretty easy and there are a lot of opportunities for extra credit on them which helps. I can't see how anyone could possibly earn a low grade in this class with the amount of help she gives.

TAKE HER! Easy A if you attend class, do the extra credit, and at least pass her exams. Her Final is all the past exams combined.

She is a great lady! Attendance is mandatory and if you attend almost all the classes she will give you extra credit. Her class is easy and straightforward. There is no reason why you should make anything less than an A. Her test are a mixture of class lectures and the textbook chapters. She tells you in advance what she will be testing on.

She welcomes students to her office so take her up on that if you're struggling. Attendance isn't mandatory but there are occassional quizzes and extra credit attendance points so I'd recommend going to every class. As long as you take notes in class(she tells you whats important) and study for tests you should do well.

Kathy is amazing. Her class is very interesting and she does her best to make sure everyone gets something out of it. She gives 3 tests and a final, pop quizzes, takes attendance randomly for points at the end of the semester, and requires participation. It's a tad scary at first but then it feels normal. Kathleen Jones is an amazing human being. I'm not even a Sociology major or minor but im trying to take another one of her classes. As long as you try and put forth good effort you will do very well in her class. She is very helpful and her door is always open. The work-load may be a bit much but its quite do-able.

Professor Jones Inrto to Sociology class is a easy A. She is a nice professor, but she likes to state her very liberal views. The lectures are a little boring, but if you're not a liberal she will make you want to rip your hair out 99% of the time. The class has a lot of arguments so do not be afraid to share an opposing view.

Gives lots of extra credit. Only takes attendance 15 days at random. There are also a few pop quizzes. Worst thing is that her exams are completely lecture and notes based, nothing can be found in book.

She's a wonderful person that is well-versed in a wide variety of topics pertaining to Sociology. Class lectures heavily incorporate discussion. Intentionally set up to not be workload heavy but more of an eye opening experience. The syllabus is intimidating, but she's a fantastic professor. Only homework you will ever have is extra credit.

Easy assignments and great in class disscusions. Although I wish she would talk more about the actual material on the tests than general discussion about current events. Tons of extra credit and participation is a must.

Gender Studies was very enlightening! Kathy is such a great professor! There are a lot of group projects for this class, but they are interesting and well worth doing. She grades rather quickly and she is very understanding when it comes to assignments. I recommend her and this class to anyone who is interested in the social sciences.

She grades on participation, attendance, and there are pop quizzes. She's not a hard grader when it comes to writing assignments. Very little homework. Textbook hardly used, but useful for vocab. Tests were mostly lecture-based, so take notes; also were often word-for-word her posted notes. Many extra credit opportunities. Impossible to fail tbh.

So caring and kind and if you ever have a problem just go to her office hours. There is absolutely no way you fail this class with all the extra credit she gives out.

Pop quizzes that are easy so be sure to attend class. Lecture notes are online however some things are not discussed in class. Jones is amazing all around!! There are 4 tests and final resembles previous tests; only used a few definitions from the book so I would suggest you not purchase it. Overall, easy A and interesting course.

Participation is important, discussions are always interesting. Make sure to take notes and understand the suggested parts the book, as it will make up most of the tests.

Mrs. Jones was an amazing professor. She always made sure the expectations were set and able to be met. Class participation is apart of your grade and she only has four pop quizzes. However, if you come to class, more often than not, she tells you to expect them in the next class session.

This class is extremely easy! The teacher barely teaches and lets the students take over most of the time but all of her lectures are given on a chalk board, so if you don't go to class, you won't get the notes. You can get a lot of extra credit in this class by just showing up and participating. She is really nice and caring but is a push -over.

While the exams in this class sometimes had nothing to do with what you learned about, this class is easy. There is so much extra credit available so it balances out everything, even if you don't do particularly well on the exams. You can tell that Professor Jones is very passionate about what she does, and participation is a part of your grade!

Kathy J is probably one of the most amazing professors at East Carolina University. She really cares about the students success and she loves what she teaches. I took intro to Soci with her and changed my major to soci because of her! Now I am ending my 4th class with her! She may seem mean at first but give it a week and you will LOVE her! AMAZING

Professor Jones is the best you are lucky if you get her. She is very understanding and if you go meet her in her office you will keep that connection with her for the rest of the semester. Make sure that you participate because you are graded on participation, but she gives you multiple options on ways to participate. She's such a nice lady and I really enjoyed going to her class.

Im considering minoring in Sociology because of Prof Jones. SHES AMAZING srsly. I enjoyed going to this class everyday! Tests are straight from the note sheets online with few textbook vocab items. Dont buy the textbook its really not necessary and its also available for rent at Joyner. Anyways, if you're debating between her and another, take her!

Jones is a lenient grader that doesn't give much work (GENS 2400). It's mostly "pop quizzes" according to her though our class has only received one. Show up and listen to her lectures + read the articles she posts for an easy A - both are interesting so it won't be hard to! She can be difficult to understand with certain words. Lots of EC offered

She gives a lot of Extra Credit! I used the class textbook and the lecture notes to study for the test. Study the notes she posts on Blackboard! She doesn't like people being on their phones in class.

She is amazing oh my gosh. Her test were very easy as long as you read and listen to her lectures. She is no where near boring and she is very straightforward!! Loved this woman

Very interactive in lecture, gives multiple extra credit opportunities. Overall I enjoyed this class.

Professor Jones is one of the best professors I've had. Although I took the class online, the lectures were great, she gave feedback every time something was graded, if something wasn't right she usually lets you redo/fix it, and she gives a good amount of extra credit. Would definitely take one of her classes again.

she is an amazing professor! she is willing to answer any questions you have and she doesn't assign a ton of work. Just work that matters. she also had the test was like take-home tests. this class is one of my favorites and she had weekly meetings on Wednesday at 10 and she talked about a lot that would be on the test so you were prepared. 10/10
