Child Psych was great
heard she was unfair and unjust
She's good but her tests are a lil confusing sometimes. Overall the class is easy.

You will learn a lot - take all ed psych classes with this prof - she is great!

This prof knows her stuff. I would take her for any psychology class.
Great class, you learn a lot as long as you attend class.
I love Dr. Kleissler! I wish I could take child psych again just so she would be my professor!!!
Teacher is very clear but her wording on tests is tough. If you get over that hurdle, though, she's very nice and you'll learn a lot of useful information for your future in a classroom. (or parenting if that be the case)
She is a wonderful teacher. She knows so much about how people learn. You can ask her anything, and she is very understanding. You must read the book for the tests. She has diff. ways to get bonus point. Everyone should take her!
wonderful person, easy class
She is wonderful! She knows the information. Her test can be a little tricky. Study the book and notes! You must take her class, She does PAIR AnD SHARE..this is the only part that can become annoying after while.
Excellent teacher. Do the outside assignments, they will boost your grade!
Easy, clear, understanding, helpful, knowledgable. Loved her class and her. Suggest taking, but only if you are willing to actually go to class and do the small amount of assignments that she asks.
Excellent teacher, likes to get class involved, and very easy to talk to. Always willing to help students. Do the outside assignments too.
I had an excellent experience in her classes. She's clear about expectations, very helpful, gets the class involved, and isn't computer-phobic. A+++
She is a very good teacher and tries very hard to help her students. Her class was usually very interesting and learned a lot. One thing though I hate pair and share. I'm taking her again for child psych too. Highly recommended.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G...I dont know what else to say about her. I LOVED going to her class everyday. She is wonderful. I think ANYONE who plans to EVER work with children, needs to take this class...no matter what your major is! I learned SOOOOOOOOO much!
Not very interesting
She may seem sweet, but she is not understanding. I couldn't get to class because I was in an accident and she took it personally. Not sympathetic despite that little princess attitude she puts on in the classroom
she is a very nice and sweet person. she tries to help you in any way she can. her test are kinda hard but if you study and go over the text its an easy class. and she drops the lowest grade so I suggest taking her!
She is very helpful and caring. She will go out of her way to help you get a good grade(one you deserve). If you study the text and notes you will do great! Outside assignments and extra credit help boost your grade even more. Great proff!!!
She is an understanding professor who will help you with any problem you may have. You need to study your notes and read the chapters and you'll do fine on the tests. Do the outside assignments becuas they boost your grade a couple percentage points. I'll recommend her to anybody.
take her please. do yourself a favor and take her. you will do well in the class. she gives plenty of extra credit, drops your lowest test score, allows you to use notecards on the test and gives you points for raising your hand!!!!!
Excellent Prof! She is soo nice and knows what she is doing. Tests are def fair for the people who read (which isnt very much)and go to class. So much extra credit its great! Take her!
Her tests are a little hard but she is by far the most interesting prof i have had. shes not boring at all and she tries so hard to help everyone do well
I loved her class. She is not easy but you will learn alot from her. She is very nice and will help you in any way possible. Take her for any class you can
Great teacher. Loves groups work. Talk in class and you'll be fine. Read the book a bit and take notes. Tests are a bit obscure at times but that goes for a lot of ed tests. Great overall.
Wonderful professor. Will do anything to help students succeed. Extra bonus points to help boost grade & help you learn material in more depth. Soft side to her. Really cares about her students. Pay attention to what she says in class & you'll do well on tests. Couldn't get a better professor!
Do the outside assignments, take notes, and PARTICIPATE! if you do that... you will get an A
very easy class just study the notes, and participate on blackboard for EC and will get an A
Great professor! Always willing to help, and offers extra credit. Group tests sometimes! Nice lady and makes psych understandable!
COVERS ALL THE MATERIAL ON THE TESTS. INVOLVES THE CLASS A LOT (ANNOYING), BUT HER TEST: THERE'S 5 (INC FINAL). LOWEST IS DROPPED, ONE IS GROUP (GUARANTEED A), ONLY ONE OUTSIDE ASSIGNMENT ESSAY FOR THE FINAL. YOU GET A NOTECARD 2 USE 4 THE TEST. TAKE THE NOTES, LISTEN IN CLASS, YOU'LL GET AN A.
great
SO EASY. if you want an easy A, take her. tests are mostly on notes, and you can use a notecard on the test. she dropps the lowest test grade and gives tons of extra credit opportunities! awesome prof
Excellent teacher. Very understanding. Do the extra credit and you will do really well. You don't even need to go to class. Just read the book. Excellent teacher. Tests are a little challenging, but you can do well on them!!!
tests are very hard and the book and notes dont help
She is super nice. She makes the class really interesting. The tests are really hard but she does give lots of extra credit, and note cards for the tests. Also she makes things really understandable.
tests weren't the easiest. but you could do extra credit, and you could have a note card for the tests. i recommend her.
She is so understanding and help and interesting! You never want to miss her class! Plus she really brought what she was teaching to life with real children coming in, articles, etc. She talked about real life. GREAT personality and totally sweet! Def take her if you get the chance!
Prof.Kleissler is extremely helpful and clear in her teachings. She offers a lot of bonus points and is always open for questions. She offers many examples and is just overall a great professor - one of the best I've ever had at Kutztown. Her tests are not extremely easy but take advantage of what she offers and you'll do fine! Good luck!
Prof. Kleissler is the kind of teacher who helps all of her students when they are having a hard time. She gives TONS of extra credit opportunities, so it's best to take advantage! She makes the subject clear and easy to understand with her teaching style.
Class is a little boring. You have an exam the Friday before finals. The final is open book and there is also a paper due the day of the final. Gives extra credit points but the assignments are very detailed and time consuming.
Extremely good teacher. She teaches you everything that's scientifically been proven as the best teaching methods and she tries to incorporate every one into her lesson plan. It's not the easiest class in the world, but you can use notecards on the tests. I got by without the book. You just have to borrow it for the final.
Prof. Kleissler is a good teacher, the information she teaches you is very valueable. However, when you try to speak to her after class or outside of class it seems like she wants nothing to do with you. The class is a little tough but by attending class, doing work, reading, and studying you will get nothing less then a B.
you would have to TRY not to pass this course. she is very helpful and wants everyone to succeed. gives optional outside assignment for each test to boost grade, can post messages on blackboard for ec, participation pts help alot too. i learned alot in this class about students and children in general. really nice lady.
Def. Reccommend this professor. Like the person said before, you have to TRY to fail her classes. She is very helpful, doesn't have a strict attendence policy (but you need to go to calss to get the notes b/c the tests are based on most of them)and she is just so nice. Take her, you won't regret it.
She is the best Prof I have had at Ku. She is always willing to help, her tests are easy but you have to go to class. She gave EC one day because of low attendence. She does group tests. Lots of EC options are given out. Final is open notes, but you still have to study. Partcipation is 10% of your grade. She also learns names pretty fast.
Totally awesome, im definetly going to take her again
she's all right as prof... little opinionated but if you do the work she requires and a little extra credit, you can pull an A
Good professor!! Worth taking.
Great teacher. One of the best i've had at Kutztown. I would recommend her to anyone. I really enjoyed her class.
She's an ok prof, but definitely not the best I've had at KU. You can use notecards on the test, but you still have to study/read the chapters. Kind of boring, but lots of bonus points for participation. Not hard if you study.
This woman really knows what shes talking about. She is very knowledgable in her subject. But I thought the class was a litle harder then I had assumed. And if you dont get the textbook for the class dont expect to get an A or a B. But shes a very nice lady and the class was very interesting
cool teacher. shes here to help you but you have to go to her if youre having trouble in her class. her tests are a little difficult and you have to study but if you go to class regularly it helps A LOT!! coolest teacher ever!
er classes were very interesting and I learned alot. I would recomend her for child psyc. Seems to be one of those morning people that is always on the go and happy. She is a great professor (very organized)
a great person and professor! she is my adviser and this is my first semester having her as a professor. on the first day, it seems it will be a hard class, but after the first week, you're no longer as worried about the difficulty. she's there every step of the way and the class is really interesting! I recommend strongly!
Really knowelegeable, nice lady but just a pretty boring class. Take the class later in the day so you don't just fall asleep like I have done all semester.
The very first class I knew I was going to feel overwhelmed in her class. Her syllabus is something like I've never seen before. So incredibly detailed & her grading rules for tests are confusing, just like the way she teaches. I love psych & think it is interesting & I still almost fell asleep every class. Her tests are way too hard and tricky.
i took her for educational psychology and i recieved a c in the class. The tests are very subjective where two of the answers could be right but what she thinks is the right answer, is. There are outside assignments that help if you are not a good test taker but they are very confusing and are mainly just busy work. She was nice tho and tried to he
I took her for Ed Psych and Human Exceptionalities. I LOVE her!! She's great. Her tests have a lot of information, but she makes outlines and goes through them with a lot of detail and examples so you really get it. So go to class, pay attention, study your notes and you'll do great! She's a great teacher!!
I loved having her for my child pysch class. She is a great professor and very understanding. Attendance is not mandatory, but you should go because there are usually questions on the test from class discussions or videos. Lots of extra credit. Take advantage! If you go to class and read what your supposed to you should do fine in the class!
Awesome teacher. Gives bonus points and really tries to have students succeed. I am taking her again next semester
Excellent and engaging class. I never did well in psych until I took her. Don't be overwhelmed the first day by her syllabus, it's just a lot of her talking about how she wants you to succeed and do well. She's always willing to help, smiles a lot, and gives PLENTY of opportunities for bonus points
My fav. teacher this semester!! She really wants you to do good. The class is an easy A and it is very interesting! I would def. recommend her to anyone!
She is probably one of the best prof's here at ku. she gives plenty of opportunites for bonus points, and "her object is your success"! Two exams are open book, including the final, and she reviews your final assignment to make sure you meet the criteria. I would definitely recommend her!
Kind lady, but the class was more about parenting than actual psychology. Relied to much on her experiences as a parent. Must attend, because most of the questions on tests are covered in class, rather than the text. First test and final were open-book. I feel like I've learned nothing from this class after having taken it.
One reviewer put it perfectly. She grooms you to your potential, all you need to do is try. Lots of extra credit chances, take them. She's engaging & on her toes with what's happening. Lots of videos, partner work, fun little things that are worthwhile. JUST STUDY! Common sense, because Psych can be tough.
Dont take this lady. Her test questions are worded horribly asks rediculous information that she never goes over in class. She makes easy information hard. She always has mistakes on her tests and likes to correct her mistakes and interrupt the entire class during their test taking time.lots of extra credit but unfair test questions.
I learned a lot from this class. Kleissler gives lots of extra credit opportunities so TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM!! The first and last tests are open book/open notes but seemed harder than the other 3 which are more applying the knowledge. Lowest test gets dropped so don't worry too much. Definitely TAKE HER!! Fairly easy A for me.
Shes very kind and cares about her students grades. She gives massive amounts of extra credit and there not hard to do! Her tests can be a little tricky because she lets you use open book or have notecards for some of them so she really makes you think! But if u do the extra credit it WILL boost your grade up by ALOT even a whole letter grade!
Great professor, very understanding and gives hard tests but lots of extra credit. Participating in class really helps too.
I cannot say enough good about Professor Kleissler. She was absolutely amazing, kind, and really cares for her students. A lot of people seemed to struggle which still boggles me. Her exams are a piece of cake if you study even the slightest, and she offers tons of extra credit and extra points. Just don't get overwhelmed by her syllabi!
She's the most irritating professor I've ever had. She speaks to hear herself talk, ignores hands up in class. Makes you talk to a partner about 5 times every class to answer stupid common sense questions. She's nice, easy class, and maybe this is just me. But so irritating.
Had her for child psych. TAKE HER. She is so nice and helpful. Makes it interesting. Fair tests, 1 open note book test and 1 project. There is extra credit. I didnt use the book that much, but it was nice to use to study before a test. She is a great prof.
I had her for ed psych. She is very helpful but she has you talk to your partner alot and half the time i didn't even know what we were supposed to talk about b/c she would give instructions while students were still taking notes. She gives extra credit for the exams and you can use open-notebook or notecards.she drops lowest exam grade.
She is passionate about her work and really tries to get the message to the students. Some of her test questions to seem like opinion questions rather than fact so that can be difficult. The only complaint is that her material is outdated. The videos and notes she uses, she must have been using for atleast 20 years.
She's easy but the class is not psych. Be prepared for parenting class, not child psych. We learned mostly about her grandkids and how to deal with whiney children. We didn't even learn about learning disorders or anything pertaining to psych. Also she has that "I have a doctorate I'm better than you" mentality when tech comes in to help her
this class is very easy , she gives you four test , and the first one and the final are open note. take her ! she also is very helpful if you dont understand what is going on. attendance is not mandatory , however you get extra credit for particpation (up to 10 %) however i didnt learn much about pysch , she teaches more of a parenting class.
She's great. She makes class very enjoyable and offers a lot of extra credit opportunities. Her tests are a bit difficult, but she truly wants her students to do well. Definitely take her if you can!
The class is called Child Psych not parenting, and she does not understand that. I learned more about her family than I would ever care to know. The tests are hard. She does offer extra credit though. She always seems flustered and will not recognize that students have their hands raised. She just looks up, ignores raised hands and moves on.
Her tests are really hard! But, she is a nice lady, and will answer all of your questions in detail. She smiles a lot, and creates a warm learning environment. Overall, a very fair prof.
She drops the lowest greade from the first 3 test. and the 1st and final are open book and notebook. There is tons of extra credit assignments for the tests which i did all and particpated and i recieved an A.
She's such a sweetheart & a really great person. Nice professor. Take her :] Pay attention, take notes & you'll get an A!
The only problem with her is that she talks forever before a test and causes a lot of distracions at first. She offers easy extra credit like posting on D2L and class participation. She lets youuse your book on 2 tests and make a notecard for the other 2.
She is really an easy professor. Just follow your syllabus, do any of the tons of extra credit available and study more than just the night before the tests to earn an easy A. You must buy the book and for her second and third tests, really study it because the tests cover both in class and book material.
Very nice professor but her class is straight lecture from transparencies that are probably from 1980 and she does not post any notes on D2L. Her test questions are next to impossible to answer even with open notes and book. Take advantage of the extra credit at all costs. If the test was about her grandchildren Id have an A but theyre not...
Her class was over all easy mostly because she lets you use your notes for every test but some questions on the test are her opinion and have nothing to do with the book. She takes attendance everyday and you have assigned seats so she can keep track of your participation. Just make sure you go to class everyday and you'll be good.
She is one of the worst professors I have ever had. Yes she does offer a lot of extra credit and has open notes exams which is good if you only care about getting a decent grade. But she refuses to keep up with the times and replace her old transparencies that are probably 20 years old. She seems to only care about her students that are disabled.
she is such a nice lady! her tests were difficult, but if you study and do the notecard you'll be fine! she offers lots of extra credit which is super simple and can really boost your grade! yes, this class can seem more like a parenting one sometimes, but that isnt really a bad thing. either way it is a great class and i learned alot! :)
She's a sweet lady but a little old fashioned. She'll frequently make you talk to the person next to you to discuss a certain subject so you better like the people you sit around. She offers lots of extra credit and the tests are open note. You get extra credit for participating so do it. It's worth it.
you get to use your notes and the textbook for the exams, so get it! it's super helpful! go to class and raise your hand! participation and attendance are counted towards your final grade.
She teaches like it's still 1980 and shows extremely outdated material. I also found her to be very bias. She gives a lot of extra credit which helps because her exams for pretty difficult. Overall, not too bad of a class but I wouldn't take her again.
Very sweet woman and cares for her students. She is understanding if you cannot make it to class (snow for example). And her tests are usually open bookopen note for the first two. The other exams you can put notes on on index card and use for it.
I thought Kleissler was a really good professor. I enjoyed her class and thought she did a good job of keeping the class engaged. I didn't think her tests were that difficult seeing as how they're all open notes and open book. I would definitely take her again.
