Mrs. Kustin is an excellent teacher, she offers plenty of extra help and takes the time to go over anything that needs to be reviewed, lots of homework, but she doesn't check it, quizes every tues and thurs, tests soso, i recommend her as a teacher

if math isnt ur strongest subject DO NOT DROP THIS CLASS!She explains the material very well and tries to help u as much as possible.if u go 2 class and do well on the quizzes u will b fine,quizzes don't count unless they help u.The handouts on blackboard really help!Plus she drops the lowest exam.

I had to take this class twice because i suck at math. I chose to have her again b/c she is so great. She is a great math teacher and has review sessions out of class for her students. She is very dedicated- and funny!

very helpful. wants you to learn and always willing to help. quizzes and tests and she will make adjustments to her grading policy to help you do well. stays after class if you need it and answers all questions. really really good teacher. take her class.

this class BLOWS but if u have to take it i guess she is a good teacher to have, she makes herself extremely available for extra help, and tests and quizzes are moderate hardness, but im terrible at math and hate it so the class was pretty hard for me...but shell help you and give you every point possible!

There's 5 tests and about 30 quizes. She's always available to help and gives great review sessions. Don't fall behind or it will be hard to catch up. The final will kick your ass so do as she says and review all semester. Don't ask to many questions b/c she'll get frustrated. She expects everyone to know the basics and can't fathom why you don't.

Amazing teacher! I took her freshman year and not being too great at math thought this class would be difficult. The material was stuff I had covered in high school but never understood till this class. The way she explains things is down to the last detail. She offers A LOT of help outside class and wants students to succeed. Take her class!

Mrs. Kustin is very sweet. She doesn't mind helping you at any time, and she won't mind giving you more of her time to help you. She makes the course easy and offers a multitude of work to practice and prepare for the exam and quizzes. I have never had a more helpful Math teacher!

This class is a lot work. Very important that you go to class bc otherwise youll fall behind!

Not the easiest class but she is always VERY helpful and offers help sessions once a week. Would have done better if I had done the homework she assigned, but which isn't mandatory. Going to class is a must even though she doesn't take attendance.

She is pretty awesome! She posts pretty everything that goes on in her class online and doesn't take attendance, but I would still recommend going because she goes into such detail in class. She drops the lowest test grade and is always willing to help you out. Take her if you get the chance!

she's a good teacher and wants everybody to do well. she offers help and is willing to work with your schedule. attendance and hmwk not mand, only buy the book if you plan on doing hmwk. there are 2 easy quizzes a week from covered material, 4 tests, and 1 final. no extra cred, but pratice quizzes and tests online and extra problems as well.

She's very nice and helpful, but the class is hard. She doesn't offer extra credit, and sometimes she's a little picky on answers.

Not a hard class if you attend class regularly. You can just go on quiz and test days and get a B if you study really hard, but I'd recommend going everyday if you want an A. She is picky about answers sometimes

Kustin is very helpful and will do anything to help you understand a topic better (changing office hours, staying later, repeating things in class). Awesome teacher, knows HOW TO TEACH MATH! Too bad the budget cut is forcing her to leave. =(

Mrs. Kustin is by far the BEST math teacher I have ever had. She makes things so clear! She is very helpful and really wants you to do good. Word of Advice, do the homework. It's not graded, but it helped me a lot! Plus she puts the solutions online so you can figure out what you did wrong before going to class. SHE'S THE BEST!!!!!

Mrs.Kustin is a wonderful teacher! You can tell she likes teaching and enjoys her job. She goes above and beyond to help you. Her lectures are extremely clear and easy to follow. She updates grades very quickly so you always know what you have in her class. TAKE HER for Math 111i. SHE'S AWESOME :D

VERY VERY nice teacher, always willing to help when you ask for it. I'm definitely not a math person,but I managed to get by with a C, which is not great, but better than what I would have made wiit another professor. If you're terrible at math my best advice is take her, but ask for help if you need it so she knows you're making an honest effort!!

Very helpful teacher! She knows the material and is always willing to explain things. Quick grader, and she puts them on BB so you can always check that. Gives you many chances to up your grade, I'd definitely recommend her. I didn't get the textbook, but I paid attention in class and I got a B+.

Very helpful. 2 quizzes every week for a total of about 20 quizzes. Each are around 2 questions and are not hard if you do practice problems in class. 4 tests and a final. The problems on the test are just like those on the sample tests that are available on blackboard, utilize these along with other online resources! Final sort of difficult.

Loved her. She's super super helpful and will go out of her way to give you extra help. The class is super easy if you go to class and pay attention. I HIGHLY recommend her! Best math teacher I've ever had.

Show up and pick up your quizzes and she will love you. She makes an effort to get know all of her students and she gives quizzes like twice a week for attendance. Also, what's really great is you can literally go back and up every test grade with the final! If you get an A on the final you basically get an A in the class; nit-picky grader though

Excellent professor. I struggle with math and have since 6th grade. I have taken both Math 111 and 122 with Mrs. Kustin and both times she proved to be my most helpful professor of the semester. Although she is a tough grader, she is fair and only takes points off for things that you missed. She made the class do-able for me.

Kustin will move really fast through the material, and she's a tough grader. Our book was terrible, but she puts tons of stuff on Blackboard to help out and she always makes herself available if you need extra help. 10 quizzes and 4 tests, returns grades quickly. If you don't come to class, you probably aren't going to do well.

122 is not easy material but she explains it well. However, you must pay close attention in class since she moves fast. Homework is optional but do it to keep up with the material. Exams are a lot like her sample exams given before hand. She gives around 7 quizzes, and drops your lowest 2 quiz grades. Go to class and keep up.

Mrs. Kustin is a really nice old lady who really cares about her students. Attendance is not required, but there is a small one or two question quiz on most Tuesdays and Thursdays. The material is very easy, and she does a fantastic job of explaining it. If you show up and take notes, you WILL get an A. Definitely take her.

I took this class twice solely because I was a mess my entire freshmen year. She is a wonderful person and great teacher. Decent amount of homework that is online, but I don't pay attention in class and just do the homework. Tests are reasonable and if you miss one your exam will replace. She is the way to go for 111i.

Mrs. Kustin will try her best to help anyone who asks. We were using the new WebAssign homework system, which meant homework every night, but at the end of the semester she did not count the hw grade if it hurt your average. Many quizzes, 4 tests, and a final exam. She gives lots of optional hw and sample exams that are just like the tests.

Mrs. Kustin was a wonderful teacher! She is very reasonable and understanding when it comes to homework problems or in need of help. She was always in a good mood and although attending was not mandatory, I enjoyed going to class to learn.

You only have to go to class on Tues and Thurs because you have a quiz on both these days (really short and easy like 3 questions) She is so sweet and really explains the concepts well. Love her!!

Mrs. Kustin is a great math teacher. I really learned a lot in her class, however I did a lot of studying. The good thing about her is that if you make a bad grade on an exam during the semester she will add points to that test if she sees improvement on the final. Sweet lady

Before being placed in her class I absolutely hated math. But she is absolutely awesome. She gives you study guides for every quiz and test she gives and she is willing to do whatever she can to help you do good in her class. She's great. Plus, she doesn't take attendance.

She has a lot of quizzes but they are short and meant to help you, quite easy. She is really good at making sure you understand the material and will review anything you need or answer any questions.

Really study for the tests, I managed to scrape away a B for the semester but I failed the first test. Even though the attendance is not mandatory you gotta show up for class.

But she gives quizzes every tuesday and thursday and drops the lowest 4 so there's plenty opportunities to raise your grade. Professor Kustin is the sweetest! She goes out of her way to make sure you know the material in her class. There are two quizzes every week, but she basically gives you the problems ( just changes the numbers) the day before when reviewing. She does the same thing with exams. She'll go over as many homework questions as you need her to. TAKE HER!!

Mrs. Kustin is the absolute best professor I have had!! She is very clear with her notes and you know exactly what she wants from you! There are 2 quizzes a week and she goes over the type of questions that will be on them! Same way for the exams. She emails back extremely quickly and will help you if you need it! She is awesome!

Kathy teaches from the moment class starts to the second it ends (sometimes even a minute or two after). She gives quizzes every Tuesday and Thursday, each worth 10 points. She's very sweet but doesn't notice your hand raised, so if you have a question you have to speak up. Overall a good teacher, she does well teaching the material.

Mrs. Kustin is really helpful and I could understand her lectures really well. She does teach a little fast for me, but math isn't my thing. However, when I went up to her for help she was more than happy to show me which is something that made me love her class.

The only complaint I have about the class is that she jumps right into calculus, if you do not have a background in calc, it is difficult to follow. She is a super sweet lady. Quizzes every Friday, but she does drop 3. Puts sample exams up before every test that are almost identical to the tests. Homework is optional.

Always answers questions and gives helpful lectures. I had a confidence problem with math and she helped raise my confidence to the point of making a high A! Homework is helpful but not graded. Best math teacher I have ever had. I have always struggled with math and she is really great at explaining things. Gives lots of examples and is always willing to help when you ask. Buy the book used not new and DO THE HOMEWORK! The homework, practices quizzes and practice tests are just like the regular quizzes and tests, do those and you'll pass.

I have a really hard time with math but I actually learned a lot in this class. She puts practice quizzes/tests online with answer keys and if you practice them you can make an easy A on the tests. I met with her multiple times outside of class and she was always willing to help me however she could. A lot of homework but it isn't graded!

Kustin is Awesome! There to answer questions whenever you need her, so don't be afraid to ask! Takes attendance but its honestly better to just go to class rather than teach yourself from the book, she presents real easy ways to make harder problems not so bad. I'm definitely taking her for MATH 122 next semester! Homework isn't graded, but helps!

Best teacher i have had so far at USC. Truly cares about her students and wants them to do well. I've never been good at math but she made me want to try.

I'm not very good at math, but this class wasn't too bad. Lots of homework, but she'll answer any and all questions and cares about students understanding the material. Do homework and study for the four exams and final and you'll do well. Was caring and kind when I got sick during the semester and even sent me lecture notes. Definitely recommend

Ms. Kustin is a very caring, helpful and overall great teacher! She doesn't rush her lessons and takes her time with each section and is always willing to help students outside of class. Homework is not counted for a grade, but I would recommend using the extra practice problems ("Test Q's")she posts. Her tests are exactly like the practice tests.

She is GREAT! She is always happy to help during office hours. She gives a lot of homework but it is not required. The good thing is, she post detailed answers to the homework. She gives a sample exam before each test, which is always just like the actual exam. Does not take attendance, and if you're absent in class she'll send you notes. Real easy

Kustin really cares about every one, and somehow in a class of 80 she knew everyones name. She uses every minute of the class just doing examples over and over again. She assigns homework but its not mandatory, she gives it just for practice. She doesn't care if you come or not but she expects you to be getting good grades if you are not there.

Professor Kustin is the sweetest person ever! She really wants you to do well, and offers lots of time to work with you outside of class to make sure you understand the concepts. She assigns homework from the textbook (not wileyplus) so it's optional and spends time in class going over the homework problems people need help with.

If you need to take calc, this is the teacher you want. She is amazing. She writes all of the notes on the board so they are easy to copy down. She gives sample exams right before the exam and it is almost exactly like the test. After she grades it she will email you individually about what you missed. Attendance is NOT mandatory at all. Great professor hands down. Must pay attention to the notes and in class, because sometimes the things on the study guide you may get right, but not right on the test.

Professor Kustin gives you everything you need to succeed. I'm not good at math, but this class was not that hard to do well in. The test reviews are exactly like the test, so if you do the homeworks and then make sure you get everything right on the test review, you'll do great.

Kathleen is such an amazing professor. She has so many students in her class and she takes time to know your name. Homework is not required and will answer any questions you have. She is such a sweet lady. She gave me free plants. If you are planning to take Math 111 take her!! I love her so much she is so adorable.

To do well: COME TO CLASS, take good notes with steps and examples, take practice quizzes/exams very seriously as they are exactly like the real ones (be comfortable with all content on these before taking real one), do the homework/go to office hours if you were confused in class. She is very kind, understanding, helpful, and awesome overall.

The few reviews saying she's awful are incorrect. She does quiz and test heavy but it's to prepare you for the final. As long as you do the practice exams and sample exams, you'll do fine. Also she cares about her students, if she doesn't focus only on you it's because she has OVER 50 students in the class! Show up to her office hours for help!

I loved taking her! She is nice, accessible outside of class, and helpful if you ask! You just do problems the whole class and notes, so you will probably have to take time outside of class to understand it, if math isn't your strong suit. Grade is based on quizzes and exams. She bases your final grade at the end of the semester very fairly too!

Prof. Kustin is a sweet, caring instructor who pushes her students to perform their best. While the class can be challenging, using Unstuckstudy and focusing on practice exams can really help.
