A lot of times, incompetent teachers will make up for their lack of teaching skills by giving good grades to their students to make themselves look good, but she doesn't even do that. She's really floaty and not clear and doesn't really teach. Dont take!
Lawson is so cool! She's a very nice, easy going person. She is always willing to work with the class when it comes to planning essay due dates, etc. Be sure to ask her about the goat picture on her office door!
She wouldnt give a girl a 4.0 on a paper cause she said it wouldnt be fair to the rest of the class. Made me go to tutoring, when I told her I did and I didnt she boosted my paper from a 1.4 to a 3.6. Said She could tell.
Lawson is really strange at times but overall, pretty cool. She had us sing in class and play with legos. I took her for both RHT 150 and 160 in my freshman year and enjoyed her class. She's very easy going and always willing to help. Ask her about the goat picture on her office door.

She doesn't know what she's doing, and she told my paper needed two different thesis, which were both in the form of a question when it was an opinion paper!! She's an idiot, and didn't agree with my opinion, so she wanted me to change my thesis! Idiot!!!
She's kinda out there and was late for many classes. She also confused the class when she assigned different due dates for essays. She's very helpful when it comes to writing essays, though, and she lets you revise them for a better grade. Can't complain about that. I would recommend her if you feel you're a strong writer.

There are 4 papers total. She is fairly easy, but goes off on other tangents during teaching. Directions can be very unclear.
This woman is a sweet heart. She's very nice and is willing to help you on your papers. She will also let you redo your papers as many times as you want so if you initially get a 2.0 you can raise it to a 3.8. She's pretty 'out-there' (perhaps from a little to much fun in the 60's) but she knows what she's doing. I got a 4.0 both semesters.
Prof. Lawson is nice and means well, but is very disorganized. Due dates change a lot and what she wants is often unclear. Not a hard class, but sometimes a frustrating one.
I thought that she was very funny and entertatining, although her lectures themselves were quite boring. She's nice, don't get me wrong, however, she is extrememly unclear of what she expects on papers, and when asking for advice or explanation on a paper, she is VERY unclear. I got a 3.4 ish and I wrote everything the night before. She's so-so.

she is floaty to say the least. she's not a bad person just a terrible teacher..end of story! if possible switch teachers! she is never on time, doesnt show up to class, and talks in circles (she repeats herself...if you ask a question she just repeats what she said) she confuses everyone, everyone in my class right now feels she is CRAZZZY!!
She's very trippy. She seems easy but grades hard. She will look for contradictions down to the very last detail of your paper and will question and pick apart every little detail. Expect a lot of cancelled classes and loads of group work

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. this woman is INSANE. she talks in circles. was of no help to me what so ever. we were assigned 6 papers on the same subject. the ONLY good thing about her is she allows you to re-write your paper a million times. came to class late. had the most ANNOYING laugh in the world. grades HARD. VERY picky. long grey hair. BAD.

She is a very good teacher and I would recommend taking her for any writing class. She does not enforce due dates for any papers and also did not require us to take a final or do a presentation that was required in other classes.
Extremely nice and cares about her students. Sometimes in class she can be a little scatter-brained, but she goes out of her way to meet with students if they're not sure of things. She wants students to do well and not be intimidated by a college level writing class. She rounds grades up which is nice.
Class time was useless and unclear, but extra credit & rewrites made it easy to get a good grade. A lot of random assignments and busy work, but not too demanding.
easiest class i've ever taken in my whole entire life. i've put minimal effort in the whole semester, and still got a 4.0 on the midterm. the only way you cannot pass the class is by not doing the essays.

Took her for 150 and 160 got a 4.0 both times. Do revisions on your papers and come to class once in a while and you will do fine. She's a great professor just not always clear and rambles about pointless things. She wants you to do well so she grades fairly easily.

Such a good teacher, i had her for WRT 150 and it was the best decision I have ever made. She helps you when you need it, plus you get out of class early every single day!
Loved her. Very sweet, sometimes corny personality. (in a good/funny way) Always went above and beyond to help students. Quick to respond to emails, and willing to make time to meet with students outside of class if need be. Truly wants all students to do well.I really did see my writing skills improve because of this class.

This professor is really easy and her class always lets out early. Sometime she talks about things that have nothing to do with the class. But I feel that she just looks for something to mark off at times. She lets you revise essays too. However, I learned absolutely nothing in her class.
She's so easy! Honestly, I hardly had to try at all and I got a 3.9 in the class... She even lets people turn in homework whenever. She's very flexible and very helpful.
She was always very excited for the class which got everyone else pumped! Professor Lawson helped me reach my writing potential and helped me enter one of my essays into the Writing Excellence Competition!
I really liked this professor. Super nice and very good with grades! I never really had a problem with her at all! A little light reading, and 4 essays, which she lets us redo until we get the grade we want! I will be taking her again for 160 just because she is such a great professor!
I loved Ms. Lawson! She loves having a good time and always let's you out of class early. She also gives you a chance to correct your final paper and turn it in again, and the final is optional. I passed with an easy 4.0.
One of the best professors ive had at OU, she helped me out with everything, and i loved that she made the class exciting to go to. i just wish she would grade our essays faster.
Professor Lawson is such a nice lady! She is very helpful, very understanding. Her essays are not difficult and she grades very easily. If you don't like your grade on an essay, however, you can revise it until you get the grade you want. Easy A!
Ms.Lawson is definitely eccentric but she is an easy teacher! She is a lenient grader as well. She will have you laughing all hour. Even if you are not the best at writing she will not nit pick, read the marks on your paper. she may be strange but she knows her stuff.
She is a bit quirky, but overall a very good person. She is an easy grader, and you are allowed to revise and turn in all of your essays for a better grade (which you should!) She makes sure to be clear with what you can do to improve your writing. Very good teacher and I definitely recommend.
This professor was great. She does seem a little "from a different planet" type but she is willing to help out if you have any questions. I took her class and English is my second language, I stilled passed it with an ok grade. She guided me through my papers a lot.

Amazing professor, received a 4.0 as my final course grade! She lets you revise for a better grade the second time around, did not need to do that because she is very helpful the first time around. I do recommend her to take!
She is one of the best professors at OU! She is very helpful, but sometimes she may be unclear. As an overall rating, definitely 5.0... I received a 4.0 in this class without even trying. I wrote my papers the day it was due. As I was a busy student: major- biomedical w/a concentration in neuroanatomy. TAKE THIS LADY SHES GREAT!!
Professor Lawson was adorable. She was kind of confusing on what she wanted turned in and when, but other than that she was amazing! She was very understanding and she cared about her students. I wish I could have had her again!
Professor Lawson is such a kind lady, however she can be really unorganized and frazzled at times. This class was a breeze, but if you're a person that likes getting your grades back in a timely manner this is NOT the class for you. There were basically three "big" papers in the class with one group project. She allows you to revise all papers.

Lawson was a huge sweetheart. She is always laughing in class and always extended our assignments if we asked her as a class. Class cannot be skipped since attendance is part of your grade. Class lasted for a maximum of an hour and a half. She grades papers late, but leaves back good comments and lets you revise them for a better grade.
Lawson is a very sweet woman. She would always show up unorganized and talked to herself a lot, and was unintentionally funny. Class didn't last longer than an hour and she would extend our papers and assignments a lot. Three essays and a take home final, online Friday assignment. Easy grader too. Definitely recommend! One of the easiest professors. Received a very easy 4.0 in her class, she has 3 papers that you write and gives feedback for revision right after. If you get a grade you don't like and contact her to look over it, she will most likely change it. A little ditzy but is always willing to help you for a better grade. TAKE HER!!!
She is a very sweet lady. The four major papers we wrote could all be rewritten for a higher grade and she is very willing to conference with you and tell you what to improve on in your writing. Classes were supposed to go an hour and 45 mins long, but usually went about 45 mins long! Easy 4.0
She is very out of it most of the time. Her brain is all over the place. Every Friday you will have an online class in which you have to reply to your classmates posts so it is really easy but do not forget to do these assignments. We have 3 papers and she will give you feedback and you can redo your paper for a better grade. I got an easy 4.0

Gives good feedback on the papers so you know what to fix. Fridays are moodle class days so you don't even have to go to class on friday. Overall, very easy class.
Professor Lawson is a really approachable and nice teacher, but she lacks clarity and takes the longest time to return assignments. She encourages students to use Moodle Mail to contact her, but rarely checks it and responds. You can get an easy 4.0 on assignments if you just revise your papers, which is easy because she leaves in depth feedback.

She is very annoying lol! she sits in front of class and talks about nothing but the class is super easy I don't even try! You just have to go to a pointless class to pass. she has pointless tests but you'll do fine on them. I enjoyed the the art museum project.
She is hands down the most disorganized, unclear professor I've ever encountered. None of my assignments were graded until a week before the semester was over. She is vague in directions, yet extremely picky when grading. She tells you to look at the book, then grades completely opposite of the book's guidelines. Would not recommend to anyone.

I really liked having Professor Lawson. She really cares about her students and has an amazing heart. It is not a hard class you just need to do the work she assigns. I took her MWF and we only met MW and had an online class Friday. She will help you with whatever you need and is all about making you a better you.
She has a nice personality but she is a WEIRD lady, talks a lot about cats, showed cat videos here and there. In all honesty sometimes I think she forgot what school she lectures at.
do not take this class at 8 am, because u will fall asleep, she rambles. but the sweetest lady ever. this class is easy but i think she grades essays badly, you'll never get a 4.0 on them unless you revise, which she allows for each one. she gives in depth comments but takes a year to grade them.
Prof. Lawson is the nicest lady you will meet. There is no way you can fail the class, she lets you re-do all of your papers to improve your grade at the end of the semester, takes a while to grade papers. In honesty she is a tough grader but the re-do essays helped me a lot and improved my grade so much. Class sessions are very easy& laid back.
Professor Lawson is one of the most caring professors I have encountered at Oakland University. There are three major essays. However, Lawson does give you a chance to redo the piece for a better grade. Please take this professor; you won't regret it! I'm thrilled to have had her, and for once I enjoyed taking a writing course.
Kind prof, lets you revise major papers (based on her feedback). Takes a while to grade papers, go to her office hours (or call her) if you need help and try not to moodle mail her questions because you probably will not get a quick response.

Bro, I love Prof Lawson with all my heart. I read some of her reviews and I'm confused why people are mad that this class was a blow off? like damn go make it harder on yourself. EASIEST PROF EVER! I took her for 150 and 160 and got a 4.0. she gives papers back for revision and tells you step by step what to fix until you 4.0 it.
hey I'm back, I legit have so much good things to say about this woman. She is soooo caring and always cracking jokes, even some students who gave her attitude in the beginning quickly changed their attitudes as the class continued. she truly deserves nothing but respect. No way you can regret taking her, not at all.
Lawson is the best! Her classes are not mandatory but she does gives points for attendance. Sometimes she teaches for no more than 30 minutes and lets you leave to "give you enough time to finish your paper". She's super funny and kind hearted. Definitely recommend Lawson for an easy 4.0
Professor Lawson is the easiest professor. GET HER IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE! Easy 4.0 because revisions and class is ALWAYS let out early, one time we only had class for 18 min. Have fun! side note: she's kinda crazy tho like she talks to herself and laughs at herself.
This class can honestly be all online. Classes are pointless but are usually let out after 20 minutes. I sat on my phone the entire semester and got an A. Just follow the criteria online and you should pass. More personally about Lawson, every joke she made made me cringe. Hard. Bad class, easy A.

Professor Lawson has her moments where she can be behind on grading but once she does, she gives great feedback and gives you the opportunity to revise your essays. Class is typically online only on friday and for the in-class days, she typically doesn't keep the class for the full time. Her office hours are a great opportunity for help as well
This class is super easy! literally you dont even have to get the comp book because you will never use it. She usually lets you out early on Mondays and Wednesdays if you have her because the material she covers in class then you can do it outside. 2 papers you have to write and 1 group project. Just show up to class and youll easily pass.

I took Professor Lawson for WRT 1050, and she was absolutely amazing! This class is truly a super easy A if you put the time and effort into it. This class primarily consists of Group Projects, and a few essays. Professor Lawson gives feedback on all of your assignments as well as the opportunity to fix them for a better grade. I recommend her!
I was really excited to take this course and I am majorly underwhelmed. I picked Prof. Lawson because she had a decently high rating on here but that proved to be wrong in an online setting. She isn't very good with technology and considering it was an online course that did not go over very well. If this class is online choose a different prof.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER IF YOU HATE ENGLISH. This teacher gives you way too much work every week and expects you to read wayyyy too much in to short of time. If you don't like English she will make this an absolute headache for you. I do not see how anyone thought this class was easy. Maybe its because it was all online.
With this class being online there was no sense of organization at all and it was very unclear what the assignment was and when it was due. She hardly graded anything and never responded to my emails. I do not recommend this prof at all.
Throughout the semester, Professor Lawson was unable to create and maintain an ordered and strict schedule. The texts that she required us to read were not worth the hours spent doing so, and very few lessons from the textbook were able to provide some source of knowledge beyond how NOT to write a paper.

Let me just say ya'll she extended the dates for things being due so many times. Like she nearly made it impossible for me to fail. She does have group work projects that I don't like specifically because it is group work. But other than that shes a really nice lady.
LAWSON IS THE GOAT. Had her for 1050/60 and got A in both. She ALWAYS extends due dates and although it takes her a while to grade, she always offers revisions due at the end of the semester+ her final is optional. Impossible to fail this class. If Lawson is there, take it and have fun with your one participation assignment a week. 3 easy papers.
Professor Lawson is a tough grader and assigns a lot of work. She nitpicks at everything. Although she lets students revise and redo assignments at the end of the semester, it's hard to do when you have other classes. I would recommend taking this class only if you don't have any other classes.
Professor Lawson is a nice person! You just need to do the three projects that's mandatory for WRT1050. Just try your best, show up to the lectures, and you'll get through it!
Professor Lawson was great, I Had her for comp 1050 and I wish that I was able to take her again for 1060. Pretty easy grader and allows revisions. we had 3 main projects, most assignments other then the projects were graded by completion, honestly extremely nice lady and I recommend that everyone takes her, she is really amazing.
Professor Lawson was by far my favorite professor this semester. All of her projects were well explained and she was an easy grader in my opinion. She does tend to ramble a bit but her lectures barely lasted the full time so people could leave a good 30 mins early on the daily. I wish I could have her next semester for WRT1060.
She will use the whole block of time, rare breaks, and lots of group projects.
Truthfully one of the best professors ive had, she is a great person as well! If you have the opportunity to take her, do it. I wish that I was able to be in her class again, she is a wonderful lady and tries to make school fun for everyone.

Professor Lawson is an engaging teacher who makes class fun. With a few group projects and easy grading, this course is a great A if you utilize resources like unstuckstudy for study prep.

Very easy class and good professor. She often gets completely off topic and talks to herself for the majority of the class. Overall I would take again.
She's a super easy grader; you don't even have to pay attention in class and can still get an A. She tends to yap a LOT about the most random and unrelated things and it's hard to follow along so I just tuned her out during those moments. She also has no clue how to use technology. Overall, I would take a class with her again.
