Considering this was a hard course, she was very helpful and her test are understandable, i would take her again!
does not teach proper material
Her tests are confusing because she spends more time telling us what losers we are and how rich she is that she gets off topic alot. If you take her, you will need to do alot of reading on your own.
She talks about anything but the subject matter. Her tests are opinionated, we have to figure out whose a bigger crook a car salesman or a loan officer..whats that about? Her assistants grade the test for her.....very slowly.
you dont have to do much in class, she doesnt collect hw...her tests are hard if u dont study ....many people in class did bad on tests but she still passed everyone
lots of mis-information
always talks about her professions, never really teaches! proud of her lifestyles (which is nothing) and her test are hard, if you dont study! not very helpful professor at all!

excellent speaker, cares about us and helps with job searches

intense work in class with homework tests are not easy she explains very well and gives corp experience as examples
hard and fast paced course yet she knew when you understood it and really commended you then she incorporated real examples from her career at JPMorgan great course
coming from wall st she guides us to prepare for real jobs and actual situations greart mentor
THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER SHES THE REAL DEAL NOT LIKE THOSE OTHER PROFESSORS THAT TALK ABOUT STUFF THEY DONT KNOW.
I took her twice, and both times were great. She knows the material and communicates it through daily experiences. Listen carefully and you will learn a lot, beyond the textbook especially. Her tests are long but based on HW and chapters from the book. Take this course.
she is most interested in helping students with potential careers in finance, helps us with resumes, internships and job interviews with her contacts a real person
Stay very far away. She uses absolutely no criteria in assigning grades. In my class I was running an A- and got a B but people who blatantly cheated and were running C's got A's. She also blatantly lies to her students. BEWARE when she gives a quiz never go by her reviews b/c she will tell you to study things and then she wont even test them.
watch out she tells you chapters thats not going to be on the test!!!!
Total disconnect between lectures (mostly current events or her personal experience) from test material (questions from textbook). She tested us on material she had only finished teaching minutes before (because she thought she covered it at some point earlier.) Nearly everyone got an A on the take home midterm - did she even read them? Avoid her!
deply cares about our success in college and helps with our careers with her extended network
Always ask questions. Make sure she knows who you are! Email her, call her, ask her what you should study etc she'll remember your name when she's grading. Her tests were impossibly hard except the take home. Be on good terms with her. Endure the class, then run for the hills!
complete waste of time. Do not take her, she talked about her personal life and very little about the subject. This course is hard enough but one is better off just reading the book than following her instructions. She said study chapters 1-6 and tests are on 7 and 8. Total disconnect between what she says and what she does. Avoid her at all costs.
Nice lady, but you will have to teach yourself. Exams come from textbook and are multiple choice and some fill ins. Get to know her and participate when you know something.
Cannot stress enough how important participation is in her class. Even if you get 90s on exams, but are quiet, you'll get stuck with a B+. Do H.W. as she calls on you and deducts points if you don't answer. Her test reviews are non-existent, so be prepared to study everything. Very tough teacher. Take someone easier if possible.
Seems like a nice lady. Is very approachable, willing to help you on resume, job search etc. Has tons of experience working for the big firms, so has a lot of stories to tell. But she gives no notes. You have to know everything. Never goes by her reviews, so just study everything for exams. Get to know her, she can probably give you a better grade.
horrible professor in csi ever, avoid her. Given wrong direction for you to study mid term and final.
She is a nice lady who cares about her students. She loves telling stories. This particular subject (FNC 111) is very easy to grasp. Just make sure you read before exams. DON'T TAKE HER LAID-BACK STYLE FOR GRANTED! You will slip if you get too comfortable like I did. Do the homework and you should be okay.
Absolutely the best professor I have ever taken in CSI. She CARES about her students and treats them like her own children. She is a very educated woman who doesn’t even need to teach in this bad college and literally does it as a favor to all of us who cant offered to learn at an IVY school.
THE WORST!!! Makes such an easy class to be the hardest simply because she does not know how to teach!!! AVOID HER.
I don't understand people who leave a good feedback about her. Her class is a total waste of time, unless you want to learn about her life! She thinks she is so knowledgable, promises to teach you this and that but then does nothing except using a software to generate questions for midterm and final. Avoid.
The worst. If u have a choice, avoid. If you don't, buy test bank questions for her book and use it during exams this way u might get a B.
Avoid!!
Specifically came here to warn poor students who want an A, to avoid!!!! Worst professor in all my years at CSI. Way too much work and studying for such a simple class, and I usually don't mind putting in effort. Hate this professor with a passion. If you have to take her, try to find the test bank as that's where her tests come from.
Many great lessons to be learned from this class. Though she is sort of fascinating and inspirational she just can't teach. Her final is worth 60% so if you fail that, you fail. I'd recommend forgetting about taking the class but buying the text. You WILL learn, from the book, not from her. Needs to adjust the weighting of grades. AVOID THIS CLASS!
Took her in the spring HUGE MISTAKE. She cannot teach at all just talks about her life so you will have to learn from the textbook. She has a tendency of giving the wrong chapters for a test. But the final is very hard cause it's cumulative & a whopping 50% of your grade. Fail that possible you fail the class. Doesn't curve either. PLEASE AVOID HER
Best thing is she always lets you out early. Has great life experience and is eager to help students with life advice, resumes etc. but isn't great at teaching the syllabus clearly. Gets dates and assignments mixed up and blames it on students as well. Test questions aren't clear and simple as the course really is.
avoid at all costs
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!! finals weighted 50%, quiz 20%, midterm 30%!! gives you a ton of homework and doesn't even count it!! but god forbid you dont have it when she RANDOMLY calls on you to answer a homework question, its the end of the world. mind you this is a 100 level class. She told me i was STUPID cause I wanted extra credit!!! AVOID!!!
Terrible professor overall, lectures were vague and got off topic most of the time. Very accomplished women but if you want to learn personal finance and not about her, this isn't the class for you. Don't make the same mistake I did, just keep scrolling.
How on earth is this professor still teaching here. Maybe at one time she amounted to something worth while. ( Like a broken record, she will remind you of the time she worked on Wall St.) What "Kay" lacks is any type of teaching skills. Her two exams are worth 50% each of your final grade. Steer clear of this one. Coming from an "A" student.
This professor is a nice lady, but in regards to her teaching, it is questionable. Expect to teach yourself the majority of the material. If you'd like life advice then by all means lock her in.
nice lady but her teaching is horrible, it does not prepare us for whats to come on the exam. Me and the 2 girls next to me both got low grades on the midterm after studying every single topic and just confused. deff don't reccomend
The last thing I would want to do is discredit a teacher with presumably decades of experience, but I couldn't be more disappointed by her teaching. I've suffered through a semester with bad teachers in the past, but this one takes the cake. She dances around the course material while telling stories of her old life & provides 0 feedback. Stay away
Very sweet lady, compares the content to everyday life to make it easier for us to learn, genuinely cares about students. Take her!!!
She's a very sweet and caring professor, but her class is HARD. Her class is not for lazy students. She is however, very thorough in her lectures, gives good examples, and tells you what's going to be on the exams.
Professor is caring. Lectures are based on practical personal experience. Homework is not graded, based for conversations in class. Few exams lead to dangerous grade level unless you become an expert in reading the chapters. Exams are based mostly on test bank questions. If youre not a serious student, do not take this professor.
I dont understand how professor Pesile has this many unrealistic reviews. She is simply amazing. Very wise, experienced and mother-like. Very approachable, hilarious, friendly and caring. The exams are not difficult at all and she gives you a review before each one. She opens her heart to her students.
WORST Professor I've ever taken at csi. I do well in all my classes and I've never been more miserable in a class my whole.
Midterm, Final and a short easy paper. Very caring professor, study and you should be fine
Pros of this Professor: she is kind, sweet, and full of heart Cons of this Professor: Her teaching skills are poor She talks to much about her life Due to COVID I had her online It took her 6 weeks to set up a zoom meeting Her husband passed so she is not all there. If you have a choice, pick someone else. You'll will not have fun here.
Very nice and caring but does not know the first thing about online classes. I emailed her multiple times about my stance in the class until she finally answered the day before the final that she never received any of my work, papers, or midterm. I wouldn't recommend but its an easy A as long as she finds your work in her email. Unprofessional
cannot set up an online class. no other professors or classes have an issue. just use bb colaborate ultra plz.
In the same semester I got an "A" in FNC360 Investment Analysis, and a "F" in her class International Finance. How this happen? There are 3 tests and a paper worth 20 points. I got 93 in first test, I did the paper, I went to every session, and she lost the test papers for the 2nd and 3rd test. She doesn't care. She should never be a professor.
Always put on a fake smile. Worst professor ever, if you really want to learn something, avoid her at all cost.
She is very caring and a nice woman. She will work with you and do her best to support you. She also recommends you add her on Linkedin at the end of the semester to stay in contact with you. She is great when it comes to emotional support with the class. But if you have to take her, aim to take her in person- much better than online.
Missed classes. Ended early. Could not teach. Hard wxams and paper. Works full time job and is in her 70s so does not put much effort into class/students
Missed classes. Could not set up an online class everyone coupd join until a month in into semester. Ended classes early, could not teach the material. Exams were brutal and had very little time. She works her full time job and is in her mid 70s , so she dont grade exams, paper, or just put any effort into course.
In the rare event that she showed up to class, she struggled teaching. Missed some meetings. Ended early. Could not teach the material. Had trouble with online, she is too old. Her mic and connection were bad all semester and nobody could hear 1 word. Works her full time job and didnt seem to pay any attention to the class. Felt like no professor.
Professor Pesile is knowledgeable, kind, and caring. Professor Pesile treats her students like family, she encourages, inspires, and motivates her students. Online schooling during a pandemic was difficult, however, professor Pesile inspired us to stay positive during a stressful situation and provided resources in order for her students to thrive.
Ive take Professor Pesile and I can say shes one of the best Professors Ive had in a while, very knowledgeable and caring and gives real life examples due to her experience, pay attention to her talk and youll do well.
I was super exited to learn about international finance and currencies, something different than the rest of my classes. Unfortunately, thanks to Prof. Pesile, this excitement soon turned to a migraine and stress. She missed 4 classes on a class that met one a week, and never responded to the 10 emails I sent, and gave me a WU with 0 explanation.
She lacked energy and did not properly teach the information. She just tells stories from her career that have nothing to do with the material and her exams are extremely long and difficult. Meanwhile her professional experience isn't useful at all because how much the world has changed since the 20th century. Major L Professor.
terrible teacher in the rare event she even decides to show up for class. Schedules doctors appointments during class time bc she don't wanna waste her professional career time . Major L.
terrible
horrible
worst professor i ever had BY FAR
her dog wouldn't stop barking in background couldn't hear anything all semester
spent 80% of class time talking about pre-1980s and the other 20% about how great her husband WAS.
look s likely one of the umpa lumpas from Willie Wonka.
run far away. Trust me.
will not learn a single thing under her i promise
she ruined my whole class's confidence by saying only MBAs from Wharton are successful.
One word to describe this teacher. Karen
Did everyone actually fail the class?
Knows her stuff, uses her life experiences as an example. Grade is based on midterm, project, and final - try and take someone else if you are looking for an easy class. You will have to do a lot of work to get a good grade in this class.
This professor is by far the worst one I've ever taken. She gave me a WU grade even though I took both midterm and the final and was present in class everyday. I emailed and texted her several times and yet she never answered, please avoid taking kathleen peslie... PLEASE
First off, I took her Intoduction to Microeconomics I don't know why I couldn't find it. Secondly, anyone saying her class was difficult is out of there mind. This professor is a former VP of JP Morgan in MnA, NYU doctorate snd board of trustee for CUNY. The class was graded on two exams( midterm and final) although I am disappointed by the final.
One of the best professors you can take! Her class is amazing because it isn't textbook-heavy instead, she provides real-world examples and shares her own experiences. She goes the extra mile for her students. There are only two exams in her class a midterm and a final. My suggestion is to actively engage during class, and you'll do perfectly fine.
Terrible grader. Aced everything and she still gave me a C+. Lectures make you want to fall asleep. Do not take her.
She was not able to convey the material. All she did was talk about 1980s because she's like 78 years old and obese. Don't worry, she'll be dead in less than 5 years .
Terrible teacher. Do NOT take if you want a good grade. You can do everything right and she will still give you a C+.
80 on the midterm, 80 on the final. Did all my class work as well as participated in lectures. Ending up with an F? Extremely nice lady but her class is not it.
Professor Pesile is an amazing teacher and mentor. She explains economics clearly and ties it to real-world finance. With her investment banking background, she always gave me great advice on navigating entry into the corporate world. Highly recommend! As long you are pro-active and pay attention you'll get a good grade.
She a class and experienced professor, shares her experiences in part of the world of finance and investment.
