Everything does not seem so bad in class and in text until the tests come around. Tests are hard but she gives extra credit for each for an easy extra 10% on them. Goes through notes on overhead fast and has bad handwriting.
Don't take Zarnosky. She is a horrible professor and she doesn't teach anything that is on the tests. She gives notes on the overhead that are written by hand and are too small to be seen. 50% of my class got a D or worse! Stay away!
She is the DEVIL! Her test are impossible and they make up your entire grade. She doesn't make any sense. She gets a nasty attitude when you ask her a question. My class started a petition to get rid of her b/c everyone was failing!
Not all that bad. Explains notes well. Tests are tough but if you study you'll do fine. Gives lots of extra credit. Very helpful with questions after class.
None of her notes are legible and none of the material she covers is whats actually on the test.
She's a really hard teacher. She gives tons of notes that don't seem to help on the test. She's not very good at teaching and her tests are extremely hard. For anyone who takes her I suggest that you read the text and attempt to teach yourself.
Can't read half the things up on the overhead. Also, she doesn't leave it up for more than 1 minute anyways. She has an attitude at times as well.
Teaches only by using overheads. Very boring. She just reads them, not too great at explaining anything. Tests are wordy and hard. Only good thing is the 10 pt. extra credit assignment for each test and they're easy.

Hey I got an A. If i can, u can. Just come to class and take notes;no homework, no graphs to draw...it's pie. Xtra Credit works miracles so always do it. Study from notes AND book and u'll be fine. She was nice although the class was boring.
This is the first class I ever failed in my life. She is a horrible teacher. She uses the overhead to display her undecipherable notes for 30 seconds before she takes them down. He tests are wordy and unclear. I dont think anyone got an A in my class. AVOID HER, she sucks.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!!!! At the end of a week your notes will be filled with words you can't recognize, bc you cant understand the words from the overhead. Her tests are IMPOSSIBLE!! No matter how many online quizzes and study questions you do, you'll be lucky to get a 75.
She sux.. avoid her at all costs.. she offers extra credit on her exams but thats because they are hard as hell.. just take someone else.. drop the class.. transfer to anyone ..a monkey would teach better than her.. she puts up slides on the perjector and leaves em up for like 2 secs so its retarded
I cant believe this professor is still teaching. SHE SUCKS! You can't read her hand writing and her test are hard as hell. Please TRY TO AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! If you never failed a class before you will with this professor.
Five 60-question tests and 5 oppurtunities for extra credit. Final was a joke but the other four tests were impossible... I got a D and am retaking the class with a new professor.
All the reviews below are correct. She has notes through the overhead and leaves them on for 20 seconds. It's worse the fact she has horrible writing. I have a better time learning it from a monkey while being **** then to learn from this prof.
Absolutely hated my class because I couldn't stand to listen to this woman lecture. She doesn't make sense and is really intimidating if you need to ask for help.
terrible class, boring as hell. not a difficult class, but its such a boring subject you'll have difficulty studying due to the fact that you keep faaling asleep on the book. zarnosky wasnt very helpful either and her lectures made me want to shoot myself. the only good thing about the class was that i wrote the lyrics to my bands song, "chemistry" while suffering through a class and it helped album sales and get new fans. hooray for disciples of groove!
1 word. BORING. if you like sitting in classes where the teacher slaps a transparency on an overhead and drones on forever about nothing important... THIS IS THE CLASS FOR YOU!
Boring. Sounds like an idiot. There is no possible way to get the notes down unless you can copy a full overhead slide in 15-20 seconds. She has bad handwriting too. I bet the tests would not even be that hard for someone who was taught by another micro teacher. I did every extra credit assignment and got a D. Alot of kids in class got bad grades.

this class is so boring i used to watch the girl next to me on her lap top while she watched movies. she doesn't teach just reads off her overhead while you try and copy 300000 notes in light speed. hated this class did extra credit and still barely passed. horrible teacher do not take her!
tough class, lots of notes and very hard tests. She does give 10 pt extra credits so all you need to do is get C's on the test n do the extra credit for a B. Ask her questions and seem interested and she'll like you and it makes it alot easier on yourself.
TERRIBLE. DO NOT TAKE HER. Don't do it. You'll regret it. I got a B, but have NO idea what anything was about, or if I learned anything. She cannot explain things and sometimes I wondered if she knew anything about economics herself.
Worst teacher ever. Got an F. And you have to write a whole slide in 2 minutes and her tests had nothing to do with the content in the book.

I honestly don't know how i got a C in this class. She teaches but she uses the most boring droning tone you can possibly imagine. It is almost as if she is trying to put you to sleep. She teaches with no emotion, like she just doesn't care. The tests are impossible even after 4 hours of studying.
this class blew it was really hard and a waste. sign in sheet - i used to sign in me n my bf then just leave bc class was so boring. i def wudn't recommend taking this class - i almost failed and she didn't help at all.

She is probably one of the most boring teachers you could ever take. Economics is a boring subject and she makes it worse. Her tests are ridiculously hard. She offers a number of extra credit opportunities, if you take this class do ALL of them because you will need it. I had the highest grade in the class only because I did every e.c. assigment.

Class is extremely hard. Lectures take the whole period and tests are near impossible. If you take the time to know her, she is actually is a very nice lady and gives lots of extra credit and help but you HAVE TO ASK after classes. If you are patient, read the book, and take notes, you should do fine.
Took Intro to Macroeconomics for around three weeks before dropping. Got a 25% on first quiz and received one of the highest grades. Gave little instruction on assignments. Rambled on during class and used old notes that followed no sequential order. *Also note, after dropping I had a 4.0 GPA semester. Impossible teacher.
The big problem I find with her lectures is that she spends too much time on things that are already easy to understand. If she would spend more time on things that are actually difficult it would make things easier.
This was a required course for my major. I came into the class with high hopes and after the second exam I lost hope. Tests are way too long & hard, she rambles too much and has a slow voice. Too many notes that aren't clear Some days she'd give people an attitude. But when you saw her personally she was very helpful & got me a grade I needed

Very, very nice lady. Knows alot about economics and world issues. Tends to tell stories or talk about world events. Test are all MC but very hard. She tends use different terms to describe the same things and can be confusing. Will do her best to help EVERYONE who comes to see her. lots of extra credit. Keep up with homework and you will pass.
AVOID AT ALL COST! Her tests are all MC but are unbelievably hard. She puts up a ton of notes in random order and doesnt even know what chapters are on the test half the time. Talks below a whisper also. Trust me unless you enjoy ungodly hard tests avoid this class and get a different professor
Her voice is sooooo Monotone. Its impossible to stay awake unless you bring your laptop. Shes a nice woman and tries to help but the course its self is just boring and repetitive. If your going to take her don't make it first thing in the morning.
Very nice lady! She is very helpful if you ask her. She does not make anyone feel dumb when they ask a question, as far as I've seen. The class and the material is tough, it's the nature of the subject. But if you do the work and go to class, you should be ok. Also, extra credit!

Avoid her!!!! This class was so hard. The course consistent of just 3 exams a few hw assignments and 3 quizzes. She should only be teaching graduate students in this subject cuz as a freshmen she is extremely hard.
If you take this class, you will do poorly. Her notes in class make sense, but she repeats information all the time and is unbelievably unorganized. You will fail every test even after studying for numerous hours. Her tests are impossible, so if you are a freshman or unfamiliar with economics, avoid at all cost. Again, AVOID AT ALL COST!!

Her lectures all come from handwritten slide. She usually just talks and shows slides all class, which can be very boring. Her tests are very hard, but she offers a great amount of extra credit. I somehow managed an A. Take her if you like to be challenged, but I would avoid her if you're not going to put in the extra effort.
Is a mean person, she doesn't care at all, her notes are horrible and so is her hand writing. Her attitude towards students is almost scary, im still in shock that a university could keep her as a professor
Zarnosky is a nice woman if you speak to her one-on-one, however her tests are extremely hard even if you study for them a week in advance. The problem is that she doesn't explain the information well, because I don't believe she knows how to. All of the wording she uses is complex and even more confusing. The homework takes forever too.

Just horrendous. I'm talking so bad myself and a group of students in my particular class had to meet with the Rowan Chairman for Political Science/Econ. If you feel the same way I do I urge you to meet with the chairman to possibly dissolve her. Its a real shame when a teacher gives 10% of a grade in the form of extra credit.
This professor is awful. She makes absolutely no sense when she speaks. She makes the subject ten times more difficult than it should be. Very boring to listen to. Her tests are ridiculous. DONT TAKE HER. goes out of order and doesnt go by the book, when you ask her about the chapters she says she goes on her own schedule. outdated transparency slides are impossible to read w/ abbreviations and sloppy hand writing. she gets annoyed when you ask questions as if you should already no the answer. i barely passed bc she gave extra credit
Very old fashioned teacher, but that did not affect my learning experience. She really tries to help you out with you grade as long as you show up to class, do homework and read the textbook. Homework is sort of long but is only assigned 5 times. Tests are lengthy but there are always two extra credit assignments that help your final grade.
Expect to show up 10 minutes early. She marks you absent if you show up 5 minutes before class.
Every class is a lecture. Every. Class. Her lectures are filled with transparency slides with incredibly sloppy handwriting and confusing abbreviations. She is so distracted and goes off on so many tangents that I do not even know what is actual information, versus a side comment that has turned into a 10 minute side lecture. DO NOT TAKE HER. DON'T
Recommend a different teacher. Very old fashioned. Uses out dated technology to present notes. Notes are very confusing, a lot abbreviations. Homework's are long and pointless. Tests are very long and repetitive. No review before a tests or quizzes.

I went into macro excited to learn the subject... Prof did not seem very excited to enlighten us. She chose to spend class time lecturing.. every single day. When she didn't lecture, she went off on political rants about who she dislikes & why they're horrible people. When students disagreed with them, she insulted them. gave tons of extra credit.
She was a VERY hard professor. Her lectures rarely had anything to do with the questions that were on the tests, and the LOADS of homework that were due the day of the test were terrible. Very difficult class.
Class usually would start 15 minutes before it was suppose to and end on time. The only good thing about the class was she provided extra credit to help students out but it was long and hard!
Prof. Zarnosky's intro to macroeconomics was the hardest course i've taken thus far. The prof isn't very pleasant or friendly because if someone asks a question she doesn't like she gets very irritated creating a negative environment. There are three very long exams 80 questions ea. (you can omit 5). The prof did give extra credit assignments.
This by far was my hardest class, I didn't understand mostly anything she was talking about. I would do all her work & read the textbook and still not understand what she was talking about. I dropped the class half way through the semester. I wouldn't recommend this class. She also is a very old school style teacher. Nothing is online.
Do NOT sign up for any classes taught by this professor. Horrible lecturer, confusing notes, very old fashioned (referred to PowerPoint as "this horrible new fancy technology"). Will require you to buy an online access code, but doesn't assign any homework online. Does not respond well to student's questions. Overall- horrible professor.
This class should've been so easy for me, considering I took Economics in high school. But this prof literally made it so much harder than it should've been. Very old-fashioned, lectures the whole hour and 15 mins of the class, she babbles on and on, her handwriting is terrible, her tests and quizzes are so hard. Drop the class. NOW.
Honestly if you see this rating and you have not dropped the class yet, what are you even doing. Terrible handwriting, LONG homework, hard quizzes and tests, all for a simple 100 level class.

Do not take this class. I failed every quiz and test expecting to fail. I somehow ended up with a C- however. She gives 2 extra credit papers and hw problems from the textbook. Very heavy grader and will not give you a 100. I took macro in highachool before so I knew the basics. Do not take her if you want to fail.

This professor is horrible don't ever take this class, if you are assigned her as a professor as a freshman do everything you can to switch out. I dont care how smart you could be this lady does not teach spouts off about the same things every class and has no sympathy for students do whatever you can to get out of her class. This was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. My GPA is 3.95 and I struggled hard to get through it all. This is the only review on this website I have ever written because I want to warn you all to not take this professor. This class gave me so much anxiety and the lectures were useless. If you memorize every word in the book you may pass
Mind blowing this lady still has her job. When asked specifically what to study she just tells you the chapter. She just blabs about whatever during lectures. OUR ENTIRE CLASS IS CURRENTLY FAILING and when one of us asks a question she seems disgusted. Find another professor or don't take Macro no matter what parents or advisors say. U WILL FAIL!!
Okay, like yeah most of these ratings are pretty accurate in terms of the difficulty of the class but I lowkey love this woman. Shes so funny like someone will ask a question and shell turn around and be like what?? No??? Shes super into educating her students about whats going on in the world but I must admit its hard to actually learn macro
She's not as bad as these ratings say. Zarnosky is pretty lecture heavy, so class can get boring at times, but I really think I learned a lot. Tests were hard, but she also balanced it out with a generous amount of extra credit. Honestly, if you're actually willing to do the work I wouldn't worry. Read the book, do your homework, do extra credit.
I had her fully virtual with no meeting time. The times I emailed her asking a question she was not much help. With it all online it was an easy class, but a lot of work.
This is my bad but I did not know macro would be so much math. Used McGrawHill for everything, homework took minimum 2.5 hours. Does answer emails within 24 hours. Weird grading on DQs, will give you a lowish grade and then not explain what was wrong. So. Many. Assignments. Offers extra credit at the end of the sem.
DO NOT EVER TAKE HER FOR MACRO. I can't believe this lady has a job Rowan seriously needs to wake up. The exams are absolutely impossible and then when you have a question in class she'll just berate you and say read the textbook. If you decide to take her anyway, goodluck you're gonna need it!

Someone in my class asked "if everyone fails your exam, why don't you make them easier to understand". Her answer was "I do a curve at the end of the year". Not really a way to learn, very lecture heavy but does not explain things clearly. Does offer extra credit at end of year that brings up the total grade, but should not have to come to that.
easily the worst economics teacher here @ rowan. you will get to class everyday with her scribbles on the board and her trying to explain it for an hour 15 minutes. You then need to head home and complete 40 homework questions per week with each response a paragraph+. I think I've learned more about google than macro during the entire semester.
if she is on your schedule, drop her immediately. writes gibberish on the board for an hour 15 and talks in circles. Homework takes excessively long and exams are huge. The only way to pass is to memorize the textbook word for word, and maybe you'll get a D. worst class of my entire school career.

Just not a good professor
Lectures are long and boring, her handwriting is awful. I had to teach myself outside of class, and the homework was outrageous. A lot of take home quizzes which is nice, but exams are 80 questions and rough.
Don't waste your time exams 80 questions and very long assignments.
Professor is nice if you pay attention and make an effort, especially when you need help. But, she does write random words on the board and I was mostly confused on what was going on in this class. She does not prepare you for the exam so you kinda have to go in blind and believe you can try. I wouldn't willing take this course. Grading is weird.
