I really enjoyed ENC1101 with her. Ms. Baker is very nice and she is happy to help if you just ask. It can be a fun class if you pay attention and read all the essays she assigns.

She was a very good teacher. Group discussion was her favorite and made class go by fast. She also gave us good feedback on our papers to help us improve our writing.

Ms Baker is a great teacher. She was always ready with new viewpoints and alternative thoughts. Her willingness to play Devil's advocate was refreashing, myself having had so many english teachers stuck in 'this is the way it is' mindset.

Mrs Baker is an excellent teacher. As long as you are willing to do a lot of writing, you will do fine. Mrs. Baker is VERY nice and her classes are very enjoyable. She enjoys her students immensely.

SHE WAS AWSOME. I learned alot about writing. She made class so much fun. She listened to every opinion and took what you had to say seriously, and sometimes she might change her own opinion. She is the only teacher to ever do some of the assignment that she gave out. Loved her.

WONDERFUL! I liked her so much! I am really into English, and the only thing that drove me nuts was that I could never get a perfect hundred. She always wants you to do better. I've never had such a caring teacher in all of the years ive been in school.

Baker is a awesome teacher. She allows open discussions in her class, which are really fun. Not a lot of essays, about 6 total. She's ready to help in any way that she can. I'll be taking her again next semester.

Very nice teacher, but I think she forgets that we have other classes it if you time to do a lot of work and be bored during lectures then this is your class!! Tests are crazy and friggin hard..don't reccommend at all.

Awesome teacher, awesome class. This is definitely not an easy class ... lots of writing and reading. However, Ms. Baker makes it very interesting and is extremely helpful. She encourages people to speak about the reading during the class. Attendance is very important, and stay up on the reading.

Ms. B is dedicated and committed to her profession. In addition, she is a sweet and down to earth person. She helped me pass and I will always greatful for that. The best teacher!

What a great professor. First teacher that I can say truly engaged her student's interest in literature. The class discussions are so helpful to understanding the works we read and she is always willing to help you out with writing assignments. The class is not easy, but it is a great class. You learn a lot and get to know a great person- her! :)

Great teacher, I've taken her for 1101 and 1102. 1102 is much more difficult then her 1101 class, but with a little work it's easy to get an A or B. She explains exactly what she wants in an assignment. Good class discussions. A+ Ms. Baker!

Professor Baker was the jam!She will bend over backwards to make sure you succeed. She mixes current events in with her lesson plan and really makes class enjoyable. She is extremely liberal but does not berate you if you have different views than her. She is amazing!

She is a very nice teacher but her class is beyond boring. The plus side is she gives quizzes before every class so there are no tests or finals. Not many essays are given, about 4 including the final. Not a super hard teacher just tempting to skip her boring class.

Very nice teacher. Class is somewhat easy and she makes sure you understand. You have a quiz one what your homework was sometimes so make sure you do that. Class is boring and very tempting to skip. If you miss a couple days its okay but not everyday. She tries to make it fun but it is still very boring. Def wil take for 1102

Good teacher. Easy class. However, they should change the name to "literature of the oppressed and victimized minority." White males, only take this class if you feel comfortable with who you are and your heritage. Be prepared to be barraged with stories of poor black people and repressed women. White males are only portrayed as poor crackers.

Ms. Baker's class is great! its not easy, but it does help you improve your writing and teaches you valuable skills. Defiantly recommend!

Ms. Baker is a great teacher. I didn't find her class boring at all. Yes she is very liberal with her views but I never felt like she shoved them down mt throat or it affected her grading my papers.

First day of class, she takes the time to learn everyone's name. She responds to your emails and genuinly cares about her students. Go to class and do the reading and you should get an A. She's leniant and the only knock on her is when someone makes a stupid comment she'll treat it with care because she doesn't want to hurt their feelings.

Ms. Baker is a wonderful person. While her class is not easy, it's still possible to succeed in her class. if you keep up with the reading, attend class, and try your best on all papers and tests, then you will be just fine. Ms. Baker does not want to see her students fail.As a result, she will take time out of her schedule to help her students.

Baker is a good teacher , if you learn well in well structured classes. You are given an agenda that outlines every assignment you will have and she provides ample help.She is straightforward and wants students to do well. She is also very reasonable about making alternative arrangements for students who absolutely must miss class , just email her.

I loved Ms. Baker. She is very sweet and helpful. She grades a little hard but that is because she is a good teacher who is not going to give you an A for crappy work. Her class was not the most excited but she was far from being boring. She is one of the best.

Prof Baker is NOT an easy teacher, BUT with saying that, you will LEARN! You can't goof off and expect an A. I appreciated her grading, because I felt like i grew as a writer after taking her class. Really nice lady, sometimes too nice resulting in an almost pushover-ish type of way. SUPER liberal so dont expect discussions in class about social or economic policy related to the reading to be enjoyable if you lean to the right.

Baker is AWESOME. I took 1101 and im going to take 1102. 1101 reads Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell and it's a GREAT book, def not boring. Her essays are fun to write and she encourages free writing. loved loved loveddd my english class and definitely reccommend it for EVERYONE!!! it's not too hard but not super easy...its just right :)

Very good teacher. We used the book Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell most of the term to write our essays on. There was always something to write about or talk about. And the Final was easy too!

I took Baker for 1101 and we're almost done with 1102. She is an AWESOME teacher who really does care about her students. She is very helpful in critiquing essays and she uses a step by step process when it comes to big assignments, so that you can pace yourself. I give her an A+++ and you won't be sorry if you take her.

Ms. Baker wants students to succeed. Do the required reading, show up for class, and take notes. Her class discussions are extremely helpful when it comes to writing the essays. She is very personable and cares about her students. Put in the work and she will help you become a better writer.

She is very helpful to the entire class. We had 5 500-1000 word official papers due and a couple of small in class essays. We spent most of the class discussing what we read in the book so you have to do your reading. She is the kind of teacher who sits on her desk and talks WITH the class. I would take her again.

Mrs. Baker is amazing! She is such a great professor and really cares about what she is teaching. Make sure to do the reading homework and take the essays seriously because they are worth 200 points. Also she is very helpful just send her an email or talk to her after class and she'll help you the best way she can. TAKE HER CLASS!

Very nice teacher. Make sure you read & are able to discuss. The more you contribute to the discussions, the better your grade. Try not to miss too much class. Also be prepared for short quizzes fairly often. These make sure you read. I recommend reading the text and then Sparknotes to help you better you understand.

I've never been able to understand the different parts of grammar until i took this class.I went from a 75 on my first essay to a 90 on my last. Taking her for 1102 in the fall. If you have a problem with grammar and sentence structure, highly recommend Professor Baker.

Great Teacher

This teacher is great! She really will help yuou become a better writer. Her criticism is very constructive and I feel that I am a better writer for having taken her class. As long as you show up and do the work, you will do just fine. We had fun in class by having discussions and debates. She is a great teacher. Would take her again.

listen to me, you will need the book and attendice is mandatory but it is for all english classes. Mis Baker is as good as it gets if you are bad at writing. She helps a lot. I absolutely love this teacher. She is so helpful and clear. I worked for my A but that's what ENC1102 is about. She's great. She didn't overload us on essays but the reading was plenty.Two of the three essays were done outside of class. She's professional but friendly.

Professor Baker is very nice. As long as you read the texts you will ace the quizzes. You write 3 major essays and 2 paragraphs. If you need she has office hours and is very helpful.

She's an extremely nice lady and really does care about her students. The class isn't easy, but you will have to put in a good deal of effort if you want an A because she grades the essays strictly. Just do all the work and ask for help when you need it and you should do great. Highly recommend!

Loved this teacher. Super sweet and gives a lot of grammar help. The class isn't very intensive, but you still learn a lot. The reading and discussions are entertaining.

Prof. Baker is there to help you succeed. I was REALLY apprehensive about taking this class but she worked with me and helped me improve my writing. Would take drafts to her and we would go over it and she would instruct me how to improve it! Really glad I had her as a professor and would recommend anyone who needs help take her. She's a great teacher, but attendance matters! She's really laid back too. She does give homework, but you can usually do it last minute and get a good grade on it. I would recommend her.

She is very nice and her tests are easy but her essays will kill you if you do not spend every moment working on them.

She is a great teacher that is always willing to help you. She gives lots of feed back on everything you turn in. However, expect homework every night. The homework is not difficult just takes up time. She assigned 6 essays, 3 in class and 3 take home to type. I am taking her ENC 1102 class because she was so good at ENC 1101

baker will help you I promise. u just have to give her a chance. I was already a pretty good writer, but she helped more. really read her feedback andreview past essays to improve your new ones. also do the hw, its not to bad. usually just some readings. if you show her your rough draft, shell help you write your whole paper basically.

She is a good teacher, gives easy homework for extra points, and grades attendance. Her midterm is really easy just study the study guide. You will need the textbooks.

Very laid back & chill teacher. Calm voice & knows english very well. She just wants you to become a good writer so she is willing to do whatever she can to help you succeed even if your the worst writer. Gives small hw assignments almost every class and assigns only a few major essays and a few minor essays. I would've taken her again if i couldve

She is very sweet and explains things very well, but can be a bit boring. There is a lot of class discussions based off of essays that she assigns to read for homework from the textbook, so make sure you read. There are 5 essays and 2 exams (you get a study guide with exact questions). Just do assignments and show up (you can only miss 5 classes).

She is a wonderful teacher and a very smart person. And the group discussions really help you see other peoples view point. I participated a lot in the discussions which made the class more entertaining than to sit there and listen. She grades tough on some essays but the class is fun, it's an English class and she is a perfect English teacher.

She's very interactive and wants to hear your opinion so if you love giving yours take this class. She is a great teacher and her assignments are easy and she doesn't give many. There's three essays and then a final but they're all pretty straight forward. She has liberal political opinions (not a problem for me) and I've seen that bother other people so if you're conservative, don't take her

I took Baker for 1101 last semester and I decided to take her again. Same thing as 1101, 3 essays + the final. We do have to write journals about the readings we do for extra credit, but they're not that hard. She'll judge you if you don't know how format a works cited page (I would too) but if you show up and do the reading you should be fine.

Ms. Baker is a good professor. Any students can rely on her when emailing for help or making appointments to get help on essays. She will give extra credit which are usually pretty simple.

She is one of the best English teacher I have ever taken, very funny, and I can personally tell you that my writing skills are much better after I took her class. She encourages students to visit her in her office hours to go over essays before you have to turn them in. I would definitely taker her class again, and I don't see why anyone shouldnt

Professor Baker is one of the few teachers who really cares about what she is teaching and the students in her class. Her coursework is not heavy but important and not something you can procrastinate with. The poems and writing you read in class are all important and I will definitely remember Professor Baker as one of the best teachers I've had.

It's clear that Professor Baker is passionate about the class and if you show her basic common courtesy, you won't have any issues. Show up to class, be respectful, do the work. You'll get an A. She works with you outside of class if you need her and always sends email reminders on canvas. Very little homework also. Great professor!

Professor Baker is a quite woman but she's good at teaching. She writes useful comments on your papers and provides clear grading rubrics for her essays. Not the best in the world, but would recommend.

Really great professor! She is very passionate about the material she teaches. We do have 3 essays throughout the year, but she tries her absolute hardest to help her students with whatever they need assistance with. She gives very good feedback and will help you in any way she is able to.

Our in class discussions were always interesting and very involved, and I really enjoyed hearing the experiences and opinions of everyone in the class. I did not find her a harsh grader at all. The downside is that you cant check your grade online; however, she was very accessible outside of class and even helped me with essays not for her class.

Straightforward English comp. 6 papers with some in-class & articles/reading comprehension. We worked on sentence structuring in groups often for class participation, fun! If you're naturally a hardworking student, easy A, if you're not a B. Gives xtra credit, but you gotta make attendance to hear of it. I'd definitely recommend.

Prof. Baker is the best Prof. I have ever had at Santa Fe. I had her for Enc1101 and ENC1102. She does everything with in her power to help you but you have to put forth the effort. I am horrible writing English but she gave me feedback on every paper, every time. Classroom participation a must and read your homework.

I'm a freshman that signed up very late and I thought I was going to get all bad teachers. Professor Baker proved me wrong. She is the only professor that I have learned something valuable from and I would highly recommend her to anyone taking ENC1101 or ENC1102. I had her for ENC1101 and now I have her for ENC1102 because she's such a great prof.
