BEST PROF IN THE WORLD 'NUFF SAID

Excellent prof who is ready to answer all questions in times of need! Will definately take other courses she teaches.

I can't believe people think her tests are hard! they are SOOO easy, she tells you what will be on the test and you just memorize it... that is all that it takes. She is always smiling and I found her very nice and helpful.

I think she's a little crazy, but otherwise knows her stuff. I would have preferred Prof. Kaiser though

This prof is a little off the wall, but her course on ancient civilizations was mint. Easy tests, quizzes and assignments. Perfect elective.

Prof. Denning is one of the best profs at york!! she brings a certain energy to the class, that makes u wanna learn more!! Shes a very sweet and helpful lady.. cant wait to be in her class next year!!

Prof. Denning is a great lecturer--always prepared and clear. She always made it possible to be reached if help was needed and provided us with a little more to think about than just what the texts taught. She's intelligent, considerate and a great prof!

I took all three of her courses, so I had her alot. SHE IS THE BEST PROF EVER!!! Funny, cracks jokes to make Archaeology interesting plus a bonus gives online lecture notes!

She was a pretty good prof. Underestimated some tests calling them easy when they were a bit more difficult. Always assumes you're doing your work.

Kathryn is a great prof. She obviously understands the needs of students in studying anthropology. She has a preference to using rhetoric to get students thinking. Her specialization in Archaeology probably limits her, but she probably should teach ANTH 1110. She'd be great for it.

This class isn't easy - a lot of effort is required, but she's very fair. Prof. Denning always made it enjoyable and I don't even know what to say about her. She's a great person! I think it's great that she cares so much about everything she teaches..if only she could be my professor for all my courses. My TA, Beth Dewitt, was also very helpful.

Great class! Great prof! Her lectures are always interesting and fun! Assignments, quizzes, and exams were all very straight forward and no suprises. She tells you exactly what to do to get a great mark.

knows her material very well and is able to teach it in an interesting and sometimes humourous way. her tests and quizzes were more than fair - comments stating otherwise are silly, her outlines couldn't have been more clear. assignments interesting as well.

Excellent prof! very approachable and knows her material. Her quzzies are not difficult if you follow the review guidlines. She's more than happy to answer questions either in class or after and is always very informative. the TAs are awesome and assignments are easy.

Prof. Denning is one of the best professors that I've had thus far. She's very enthusiastic about what she teaches, is extremely approachable and she knows how to keep a class interested (has a good sense of humour). Her tests, essays, and assignments are straight-forward (she not only wants the class to learn, but also to do well).

BAD PROF. she's an air-head and preaches on stuff in a religious manner without evidence. her lectures are useless and have no relevance to the course. Museum Assignment is not educational and is a waste of everyones time. If you're scientific or are used to the standard format of learning, AVOID THIS COURSE.

i think she is a great prof and always has so much energy and enthusiasm for what she is teaching.! her assignments are fair and quite educational, especially the museum assignment. i came to have a greater joy in going to the museum and really understanding the displays and artifacts.

Don't listen to any people on this forum who are bad-mouthing this prof - SHE IS EXCELLENT. I am in Dr. Denning's class. I have taken a number of technical science courses along with a number of social science courses and find that she knows what she is talking about. She's approachable, intelligent, and opens your mind to new horizons.

I love her! I am trying to take all the courses she offers. Very passionate about what shes teaching, approachable and very friendly. Tries to make the class entertaining and values student feedback. I would reccomend ANY course taught by her.

Lve her lectures!! she keeps things interesting. eventhough some of her lectures are online you want to go to class just to listen to her explain anthro.!! Keep up the good work Professor Dennings!!

I am in Shulich school of Business and I took this class as an elective. Very good prof; better than a lot in Shulich. I hope she is really commended on her academic integrity and knowledge. Very enjoyable class; would recommend to anyone (ANTH people and NONE). Excellent! Enjoyable lectures, feel like 5 minutes

Anyone who thinks this class was too hard wasn't doing the reading and that's their own fault. Denning is a great lecturer - something you don't always get in anth. assignments were more interesting then most. Great professor!

Amazing class! She was very enthusiastic about the material which made the class very interesting. Easy class as well as long as you did the readings, which weren't that much in the first place. Loved her visual aids and video clips of monkeys in the forest hahaha

A bit like the nutty professor, always looks like something wildly chaotic is happening in her office/home. Very entertaining lectures, light workload but the reading is interesting and she is quite approachable. Nice if you are tired of straight lecutre/take notes/write essays style classes. Poster party!

Great professor! She makes you want to attend the lecture and not do the readings as much... however, to do well in her class you Must read the coarse material. The quizzes were pretty detailed but the best part of her class was the assignments that she gave us.

Without a doubt the best prof I've had at University. Yes, there's a lot to read, but it's typical third year reading load, so I wouldn't complain. Her lectures were insightful, informal and a lot of fun. She's great to talk to about the course material during office hours, even if you understand it already. I wish I could take the course again.

An amazing professor. Very energetic and obviously passionate about the course. Lectures are nearly always very interesting. She knows how to interact well with students, and seems very approachable. Gives very clear guidelines for quizzes. A lot of reading though, and lectures don't always touch on them much. Museum assignment is interesting.

AMAZING PROF! Her course was informative and fun! She is very clear with the requirements of the course and what is expected. She incorporates videos, discussions, visuals in her lecture. Class just flew by. Just do your work, attend class, and you'll do great! She is also very helpful with the final essay. Ask her for help and she's there!

The class was interested I have to admit..learned some new things, and the professor is very passionate and energetic. I normally would not complain about the amount of reading in upper year courses, but she assignmed 100 pages + per week and almost NEVER discussed them in class. Also the poster party..honestly I felt like I was in grade 5 again.

really awesome prof. she's really fun and really engages the entire class with the course material. she makes more of a discussion-type environment than a classroom, and is more of a friendly classmate as opposed to a professor. the class was really interesting, but a lot of reading. she is really clear on what she wants you to do. take her classes

The BEST prof I've ever had! never seen anyone being so passionate about the subject. She is very very helpful and really cares about her students:) The course involves a lot of readings but her lectures are incredible and really interesting which helps a lot :)

Took ANTH 2140 with her last term, and definitely one of the best profs I've had. She is so passionate about the subject it makes us all excited about it too. She covers the textbook very well and is still able to pull in other interesting facts and stories without getting sidetracked. Lectures were 2hrs long, but I never once looked at the time.

She is an amazing lecturer and I love going to class. She keeps the class very interesting and the lectures are very informative and fun. She keeps the students engaged all the time. Overall if you are going to take a class in which she is teaching will not want to drop the class it's going to be super awesome and you will learn. She's amazing.

Great prof and probably the best prof I had this year. Assignments were easy and her instructions were easy to follow. Her lectures are always interesting and insightful. The best feature of this course is the ROM assignment!

Only anthropology class I've ever taken, and I genuinely look forward to it every week. She keeps lectures interesting, is extremely personable, and really knows her stuff.

We had her as a guest lecturer for NATS1880 - Life Beyond Earth. She has a great personality that just makes you smile. She is a great speaker, full of energy and very enthusiastic!!

Great Professor - interesting course - but then we are left with no grades at all for any work from the year - then we find that we get an NGR (no grade reported) followed by a NGR F. For all of us that are to graduate in a few weeks, we are stressed and freaking out.

the most passionate prof's I've had at York. She loves what she does. Must read the text, really interesting. Fair marker. Museum assignment is time consuming but great. She uses videos for some of her lectures and everything she covers in lecture is posted. Study, read text do reflections and assign, and u'll do well

One of the best professors at York. She's extremely intelligent, passionate, and beautiful. She is also very nice, helpful and understanding. She gives the best lectures at York. There are a lot of readings, but its not necessary to do them all, and it's not hard to get an A.

She is amazing. Her wealth of knowledge is limitless. She is an inspiration in every aspect of life. I want to take every class she has every taught. She's awesome. Honestly. Doesn't like technology though. And she's still busy writing the book on the subject.

ANTH of Outer Space is possibly the best class I've had. Denning is an absolute delight! She is extremely quick-witted and can talk at length without putting everyone to sleep. Granted, I was very keenly interested in the content to start with. She's thought-provoking and funny. Her teaching style is casual but effective.

THIS PROF IS HONESTLY THE BEST, I CANT EVEN STRETCH HOW AMAZING SHE IS, LITERALLY THE CLASS WAS A BLAST. IM TELLING YOU PLEASE TAKE THIS CLASS JUST SHOW UP LISTEN AND HER ASSIGNMENTS ARE SO EASY, NO TESTS!! JUST A TAKE HOME MISTERM AND A TAKE HOME FINAL WHICH IS JUST AN ESSAY ITS SO EASY!!! AND SHE MARKS SO GOOD. AND A COUPLE OF MINOR ASSIGNMENTS!!

Really enjoyed going to her lectures and for the quizzes the study guide tells you what on them and assignment she tells you what she wants on the paper before hand. If you need an extension you can ask and most likely it would be given.

Denning is vey nice and answers emails quickly. Good lectures, although she doesn't use PowerPoints.

She is regularly late in handing stuff back so much so that you may not receive a grade on your grade report for a few months after the course. In exchange, you get a very understanding professor who loves what they are teaching and inspires you to do so as well. Never had such an accommodating instructor with thorough assignment feedback.

Teacher was very understanding. Just don't get behind and participate once per class.
