She was tough on a lot of things, but it's only to help you write better. I'm not a writer & I did great in her class. As long as you know what she wants, you'll be fine. It's just difficult on the 1st paper because everyone has a different style.

She gave lot of work, especially for a 3 credit hour class but she did help improve my writting a lot.

I dont think she was that hard, she just likes things done her way. You dont have any quizzes or tests in her class because all of your grades is based on attendance and this writing portfolio that you work with all semester.

I think Kate is an outstanding professor and I don't believe I've ever had a better teacher. You can tell she cares about her students. If you are looking for an English class I suggest you take Geiselman.

Mrs. G is awesome! She is animated when she talks and makes the class very interesting. She is very helpful and will mark up your papers to help you with revising. If you have any questions she will make time to help you.

She's an excellent instructor who's very intelligent. She's understanding as well, but don't think that means she lets you slack. That's not the case.

Great class. She is hot, funny and very interesting. If you just listen to what she tells you to do, and go to class you will do great. Also its great to watch her write on the board!!

Kate is by far the only professor at Sinclair that can hold my attention the whole class time. She's very spunky and involved. I thoroughly enjoyed her class and only wish that every professor could seem as passionate about what they teach as she does. I DEFINITELY recommend taking her classes!

Wonderful professor but an hour and a half talking about a couple stories is so boring. I longed for a pillow each and everyday. She makes it as enjoyable as possible.

This instructor was great. Fun class, good paper topics, helpful and understanding if you had a problem. I would recommend her highly to anyone. I wish I could get her for 112.

I was terrified of English before I took her class, she has completely changed my outlook on English. This teacher seemed like she really wanted her students to succeed. If you put out a reasonable amount of effort you are sure to do well. Pay attention to her comments on your rough drafts!!!!

If you show up to class and follow her instructons you can do well in this class. NOTHING she wanted us to do was that hard, if you stayed on top of the work. Her editing is the way she wants your paper to look so just do that and you'll be fine. In high school this was my worst subject C's if I was lucky, in Kates class an A, can't wait for 112.

Shes pretty cool and down to earth. The papers we had to write were fun. All papers are a liitle difficult to start but once you started them they really flowed. The papers were self analyzing. You can miss a couple of classes but anymore than that it will affect your grade.

She was a great teacher! I had her for Eng 111, 112 & 113. She was very helpful. She never gave any tests or a lot of homework. She's a great teacher and I really enjoyed her class.

Mrs. Geiselman is a great teacher. She makes English fun and interesting. 4 papers, 10 journal entries, and one reflective letter at the end of the quarter. No tests, homework, or pop quizes. I highly recommend this teacher to everyone.

Fun to work with

Kate is an amazing teacher. She understands the problems students have with writing and so she is thorough and patient. For 111 you get many drafts and so much time for your papers. Attendance is necessary but not strict. If you show up and work hard, expect an A. I had an A grade already, but Ester Price turtles wouldn't hurt! I am in her 112 now!

Kate is great! She will walk you through any problem you can come up with. Just go to class, try, and pay attention to what she is asking of you. I wish I would have had her for 111!

Kate is a wonderful teacher. Her assignments are easy and she is very helpful if you don't understand something. However, make sure you come to class unless you want 10% off your final grade.

Professor Geiselman is a wonderful professor who is amiable and fair when grading without babying her students through the writing process. In 113 she was a great help on all of the writing assignments she assigned the class and she was always available in her office to work out ideas with. She's also really funny.

All 'n' All her class was ok/moderate. It wasn't the material or the class I didn't like, it was her lack of control over the students. Some students would just talk all class and she would say nothing. So just hope you don't have class with loud mouth rude people because she will do nothing to put them in their place. All that said she was great.

Kate is a good teacher in the fact that she knows most of her students are taking the class to reach a higher educational goal. She shares her love for the subject matter without shoving it in the students' face. She provides constructive feedback on the papers.

Kate is an amazing teacher!! I took 112 before with a different teacher and didn't do so well. This time I really feel like I learned how to write a good research paper. She isn't easy, but thats the only way to learn right? Definitely recommend her if you are trying to improve your writing. :)

Geiselman is very helpful and just really awesome. She a gives you exact changes you should make on papers. We never used out textbooks.

You'll lose point for a colon if your paper is good, but the dipstick in the class will also get an A if they spelled dog right

I took Kate's class online, and she was a great instructor. She used audio feedback via email on all the final papers which was really neat. Sending her recorded audio feedback made it feel more personal with the online format. She is professional and timely.

Kate is a wonderful professor, she is very helpful and insightful when it is needed. She does her best to make sure her students succeed in her class. The only down fall is that she doesn't post grades for students to see. I would recommend her to anyone! She is efficient and fun, and makes the class quite enjoyable. She knows what she's doing!

the only issue that I had was that I was confused about a submission location. I wasn't the only student with this problem. when I talked to Mrs Geiselman about the mix up she confused my email with someone else and replied in a short defensive manner which led me to think that she was not a good professor.

Kate is the most organized online teacher I've had. Weekly e-mail updates. Prompt, helpful, and encouraging (audio) feedback on papers. As with most college English classes, there is a lot of peer review in this class. If you are an above average writer, this can be less than helpful. Workload was very manageable. Highly recommend this professor!

Professor Geiselman is a really great professor. She gets you engaged in the material and stimulates your interest in the topic. She makes you feel that your participation is valuable in class and is very understanding when it comes to assignments. She works with students to get the best out of them and made class enjoyable. Fantastic teacher! Easy class as long as you care (fiction writing). Great feedback, fun workshops, super helpful. A genuinely fun and interesting person. Learned a lot about fiction writing! Textbook is necessary only for the short stories (you can probably find them online). Awesome class, would take again if I could.

I took Prof. Geiselman's class through CCP as a junior in high school and would definitely recommend taking one of her courses. If you miss points, she makes sure you understand why. The exercises she makes us do are actually related to the unit and helps you better understand the material.

Mrs. Geiselman was a great teacher. Every week she would video herself, explaining what was due and giving helpful tips (I took the class online). She did not grade discussion posts hard at all however, she did thoroughly read papers.

This professor did a great job at being very clear on what she wanted for an assignment and was very clear on how she graded them. If I ever had a question about why I got the grade I did, she would email me back in an hour with an explanation. Also, if I ever had questions, she would answer them very clearly and fast.
