very hard tests, great person
SHE is very good, helpful IF YOU ASK and overall GREAT.
If you do your homework and study you'll pass-- NOT A FLY BY COURSE!!!
She is a bad teacher. Her lectures suck and you have to read the book a lot.
Very NICE! you just have to do your part
If you are in college to learn & work hard, she's a great teacher!!
"His lecture is not worth listening" I can see why some people had a hard time. he is A SHE wonderful teacher and you should do fine. DO NOT THINK you dont have to study or you will have to take the class again......
THIS LADY WAS SO DAMN MEAN AND UNFAIR TO CLASS!!! ALWAYS YELLING IF ANYONE TALKED AT ALL DURING LECTURE. SHE GAVE OUT REFERRALS TO A COUPLE OF STUDENTS FOR TALKING BEFORE ALL THE QUIZES WERE COLLECTED, EVEN THOUGH EVERYONE WAS DONE!!!! DON'T TAKE HER!!!!
This 3-unit course took many more hours than my 5-unit upper-div. physics course! Too much homework, too stringent grading, too strict. She thinks her Ph.D. makes her a god. She knows biology, but not teaching. Requires too much detail for basic biology.
don't take her for any bio. I regretted telling my friend taking her. i thought she was good. but she isn't. very hard test. she use symbols to lecture. don't know what is going on.
Excellent biology teacher - I learned more in her class than any other class I have had. It was a lot of work though, and it is definitely not an easy class. Very worthwhile and highly recommended.
Uneccessary!!! This class is too hard for basic biology. She needs a vacation!!!
Dr. Netty is the fairest of all Professors at Cuyamaca College.Turn up to her leactures, take notes and do the study guides she makes and you WILL get an A.
Dr Nette is unfair and doesnt follow her syllabus or own rules. She "takes" most of the exams and lectures from the internet (at least when I took it a few semesters ago) and she doesnt match her lectures with the book readings so its difficult
she is the worst thing that ever happened to biology. she should not be in this field because she doesn't have a passion for it, you can tell she doesn't like the subject. she's a horrible grader, she says one thing before grading your work and then says
nette is not fair, her exam are not consistant with her lecture material. she's VERY LAZY, not enthusiastic at all, her lectures are boring, she reads the powerpoint presentation, she shouldn't be in this field or be allowed to teach, she should retire :(

very difficult.lecture long and boring. i got a B, but i worked my butt off!! she doesnt really work out of the book. she expects you to spend about 10-15 hours per week outside of school on this class.
powerpoint lectures that take the whole time, but take her hour and 15 min class and you will be ok. tests are pretty hard, but the study guides are easy points...
A very unprofessional teacher. The course was horrible - and the teacher was even worse. Should not be the head of the biology dept. In fact, she should not even be a professor. Take bio from someone else - ANYONE ELSE!!
Prof. Nette is not a "hard" instructor, but she does have expectations. If you listen in class and take it seriously, you should have no problem. If you remember that you're in college and not in high school, you'll do even better. As far as college goes, it should not get any easier than this.
Prof Nette expects a lot but if you listen take notes and do the study guides, you'll fly by quite nicely. She is a pleasent person and a very knowledgable professor.
Nette or Baleigh....the choice is yours.

knows her stuff, do the study guides and your good to go, final was easy 50 mutiply choice, loves her Bio 220 students and will write awsome letters of rec.
This is a very boring class, but I dont blame Nette. Not particularly easy, but not hard either. I strongly recommend taking this class CR/NCR. If you have to take Biology, I strongly reccomend taking her b/c the only other choice you have is that unfair, **** pig Balegh
If you are an adult about being in school and own up to your responsibility as a student you will do fine. Show up, listen, stay the whole time and do the study guides. She is an awesome instructor and not afraid to say "I don't know." Has a tendency to get off on tangents and has to adjust schedule accordingly so attending is important!
just pay attention to what she's saying and you'll do good. read a little on what she says is important.
I really enjoyed her class. Its not too hard and there is never anything unexpected. The best bio teacher at the school. If you are interested in the class, she will be interested in you.
Work hard, ask questions, do ALL asignments completely and you will do great. Nette loves this subject and is willing to help you love it to!
was usually in a bad mood and did not like to explain a lot of things......was definitely not my favorite class!
I did not enjoy this teacher whatsoever.
I would recommend this class to anyone!!!! She's great.
She does her best- BUT.... I will say the class is boring, she gives lectures on powerpoint EVERY class, and never anythign else. Her tests are pretty difficult and unless you study you wll not pass. the homework is pages long and worth almost no points, and she does not even collect every assignment.
DONT take this class. her lecture is on powerpoint and you dont have time to copy everything. she thinks that she is hot but reality she is not. her class is boring. She paces herself.DONT TAKE HERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not take her! She's nice, but a horrible teacher. the hw is very long and although she claims the tests mirror the hw it doesnt at all. The tests are extremely hard and her entire lecture consists of power point at which she doesnt give enough time to copy it down. I dont recommend.
She is not an easy teacher. Exams are difficult but if you do the study guides that she hands out and read all of the chapters you will do fine.
She is a total diva! If you are planning to major in biology do not take her ... She is un-inspiring! She is not truly passionate about the planet or any other organism but herself.
She is pretty awesome. Do the study guides, and read the chapters and you will do just fine. Be a grown up about college and everything will be ok.
She is very uninspiring and can be somewhat intimidating for shy students to approach. You will spend hundreds... and hundreds of hours doing homework that has no retention/learning value whatsoever. The lectures are stale and uninvolved. You will hear her complain about UCSD's shortcomings when she cant teach herself.
Nette is an amazing professor who will help you really understand biology! She realizes that not everyone can memorize, so she offers ways to help you learn the material, without memorizing things word-for-word. If you learn and understand it, there's not any reason to memorize it because it's already in your head. Take from Nette!
She is not a people person, which makes me wonder why she went into the teaching field. She is very monotone and dry in her lectures, all of which are posted on Blackboard, yet she requires you to show up in class. The topics covered were usually not the material tested on. I think she is a nice woman, it's just really hard to tell.
Bio 130 with Nette is not an easy class. Nette is not a bad teacher, but does have a bit of an attitude. She covers a lot of material so attenting every class and reading the textbook is vital to success in her class. If you want a challenge, this is the class for you.
Mrs. Nette was great. She was very clear on the exams, and when things were due. She offers extra credit for going to tutoring which is a great way to encourage people to take advantage of the center! She gives a take home test and quizzes here and there, never pop. She is very trustworthy of her students and has faith in each of them. I loved her!
Dr. Nette was the most helpful professor I have ever had. She was quite knowledgeable and very friendly...obviously you have to read the book, your in college grow up and get used to it. Excellent teacher, very nice great choice, loved her!
Ms. Nette is very knowledgeable in her field. The class is very, very challenging. At her suggestion, I drew posters of the main ideas to study before tests. This REALLY helped!! Also, make sure that you study the vocab--very important. I made flash cards. I love science, so this was a great class for me, but not for everyone.
Very helpful
She gives out a lot of information, and she has study group after class.
I was very impressed by Dr. Nette. I'm not saying the class is easy, but she spoke to us as equals and was very happy to help us with any questions we had. Study groups were available (you can earn extra credit by attending.) Do the study guides NEATLY, read the book and go to group and you'll do great!!!
Enjoy sitting in the dark, looking at slides for almost 2 hrs?and doing homework that can't be found in lecture or book?Take Nette.Nette needs to spend more time finding a text that covers the information she desires and less time acting as though is smarter than the author of the book she assigned, esp when she answers most ?'s with I don't know.
Great teacher. Doesn't baby her students. You will get out of this class what you put into it. Recording lectures really helps.
Many people think it is a difficult subject. If you READ and DO THE STUDY GUIDE, you'll do fine on the test. She isn't fun or interesting, but she knows what she's doing. Nette is the department head.
Bulk of the grade comes from the lab so you have to go every day - NEVER miss a lab. Tests are hard but point-wise, the lab is worth a lot more points. Also 2 projects: one is a presentation in front of the class of a disease the other a presentation of a disease in an open spot on campus in front of the students. Both worth a lot of points.
Dr. Nette's study guides and powerpoint lectures were very helpful in studying for exams and final. This is a tough class, but complete all the labs, show up for lecture and ask questions. She is very willing to make the information more understandable. Be prepared to work hard!!!
Dr. Nette is an amazing professor. Not only is she extremely intelligent but she also has a passion for what she's teaching, and she will always help out her students, if they are willing to ask! I would recommend her, she is a great person and a great professor.
DO NOT LISTEN TO ANY PREVIOUS COMMENTS!Worst teacher I have ever taken! She makes me want to hate Biology(my major), after taking her class I switched my major. She is rude, and is not helpful AT ALL!She will make you feel stupid if you ask a question, and don't bother in asking her any questions, she won't know the answer... SHE SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING
Very organized, informative, instructions very well explained, test are difficult but she is willing to help/answer any questions prior to test. Labs are fun but difficult- lots of work - hint: go to open labs & you will do well, Sam (lab assist.) is great also!
Look its as easy as this...Micro is hard! Nette is a good teacher who wants you to THINK! She will not spoon feed you. Take good notes.Go to open lab( Sam is awesome!) Follow ALL directions on projects. If your looking to breeze through Micro this is not the class for you. For all the others who didnt like Nette, wait till you get into nursing!
Dr. Nette and Sam(lab tech) are a great team. Dr. Nette does not set you up for failure. She tells you what she wants from you in order to do well on the tests and projects;you must pay attention. Do the study guides. They are very important. If you really want to learn, take Nette. However, she will not baby you. You must show interest in learning.
this teacher honestly talks too much, she has many information to give out, but she doesnt know how to teach it in a correct matter, she is like hell to me, she thinks everyone cheats, she careless for grading, i found many mistakes on my paper and i proved her wrong, her voice is just the voice that makes you sleepy, I dont recomoned this teacher!
roughest professor ever- BUT i will remember micro forever because of her. i have never worked so hard for a B in my life (i am an A student!). i know ppl who have gotten "A"s from other micro professors who would have gotten maybe a B or C from Nette. you want education? take Nette. you want a good grade for a nursing prereq? take someone else.
Nette was the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. She does not want to help any female student. She constantly accuses students of cheating. It is nerve racking because when you do well on a quiz or exam she gives you the impression you did not deserve the grade you earned. This class brought me so much stress! Find another teacher!
Nette is very very knowledable but she is the worst at giving lectures.I learned nothing from her only the book. Her lec/exams are ok but the lab is like 2 full time jobs, it just isn't worth the stress!!
She's a good teacher, but her exams are very detailed. She says that all you have to do is study from her powerpoint slides and the study guides, and you should be able to do well in the exams, but thats not true. You have to study the text book too because of the detailed questions of her exams. She's helpful if she thinks you deserve her time.
Very detailed, but awesome Teacher. Gives handouts for homework that help out during the test. Everything is gone over and explained until you understand. If you miss class though your done!
To be honest, Nette's class was a nightmare. I did not look forward to going to her class. Im a hard working student and I still got a low grade. She's not approachable and has the biggest attitude. She braggs a lot and she'll make you feel like an idiot. Never take her! This is the first Im going to say this, but she is the WORST bio teacher.
She is so bad. Her lectures are boring, and she is sooo hard+ rude. If you make a mistake in the lab, she will hate you all your life. My GPA 3.7. I had a B in her class, but the final was soooo hard, so I failed her class.
This is the only class that I have gotten a "B" in. I have had nothing but "A"s since begining school. This class is based on luck in the lab. She looks for things wrong with your work and it seems that she tries not to give good grades. Study all you want but if you do average in lab you will struggle in the class.
I wish I could retake for fun! Nette presents the concepts in a clear, concise way, and the lab reinforces. Not easy,(go to Disneyland if you want easy) but the level of work she demands from you prepares you for the university level and beyond. Sometimes a bit gruff, but just pay attention. She's very knowledgeable and there to help you.
Dr. Nette is very experienced and knows her stuff in and out. All of her documents she creates herself and allows us to print them online for free. She has a holistic approach to science, incorporating different disciplines such as writing, mathematics, memorization, communication, and theory all within one class. Took us to eat during finals!
No dinner for finals. Knows her stuff. Class is hard and her exams do not always follow study guide. Sam the tech in the lab is ok, but helps out more if your a cute girl.
What a nightmare of a class..K.N teaches most of the lectures, grades take forever, very taffy.Don't buy the book, all on PP.Have fun catching in this class!. If you have chose don't take with her
Professor Nette is a wonderful Professor. I took her class in summer semester so it was very fast paced, thats why I ranked her at a 3 for helpfulness. She is a no nonsense type of person so if you want a teacher who will just let you pass because she is busy, look somewhere else. If you want to really learn then you should take her class.
Dr. Nette is amazing. She really cares about her students and helps them so very much. Take biology classes with her and you will never regret.(P.s, you need to read for sure)
I enjoyed this class very much. I took her summer course and got an A+. The comments that say you won't get an A are from people that are lazy and don't care about their education. Read the assigned chapters and pay attention to the power points. Her exams are straightforward. Just study! Very good teacher, take her if you are a serious student.
This is a hard class. you have to take it by itself if you want to get an A. Takes so much time.
The class itself isn't hard, its the teacher. She had us staying over an hour extra in an already 3 hour lab. Blames students for her shortcomings, and then punishes them. Unreal expectations. Always talks about UCSD, when people aren't even going there. Be ready to devote 50 hours outside of class.
Dude, I don't know what half of you are talking about! Nette is awesome. She is smart, straightforward, to the point. I have taken her for 2 classes. Sure she's strict, but the classes are prepping people to work in the Health field or research. I loved her classes. If you do the work, then you'll get the grade you deserve. Most people are babies!
As the Department Chair of all of the sciences, Dr. Nette displays herself. She will push you to your limits of knowledge capacity and if you screw up she will call you out. Be ready for 5-6 hour labs. Be ready to work hard or get spit out. Don't cheat, she will make sure you never get into 4 year or nursing school, EVER.
Nette is one of the best professor's to take if you are planning on going to a 4 year university after. She devotes a lot of her time for this class only, making sure students are very well prepped before transferring. Sure the class was a lot of work, but you'll learn a lot as well. Personally, I enjoyed the class.
Difficult course, difficult teacher. Not helpful when you have questions. Lots of time needed for open lab outside of class. Grades at a PhD level. Doesn't grade on a curve. Also doesn't collect half the work she assigns. Very difficult to get an A. Good luck passing this class if you are in any other.
Soo hard and confusing I do not recommend her at all. She is a show off person and really does not care about her students. She always say that her class will prepare you, i say it will only destroy you. one of the biggest mistake when i decided to take her. DO NOT EVER THINK ABOUT TAKING HER PERIOD
Nette is a HARD professor! I got an A in the class only because I worked super hard! She can be confusing sometimes. She's sweet when she's in a good mood, but will give you hell when she's pissed. Yes, the class is hard and takes a lot of time, but if you survive her class, you'll survive anything after! Take her if you really want to learn.
Nette creates a stressful environment that is not conducive to learning. I would go to another school before I would ever take this class. Sure the material is difficult, but if the instructor is good, it will make all the difference. I DO NOT recommend this instructor if you wish to have an enjoyable learning experience and learning s/b enjoyable.
the most time consuming course ive ever taken. constant overload of work all due on same days. unrealistic expectations. gives study guides, dont correlate with exams. lab write ups a ton of work. 5 exams no curve no dropped scores. grades on a very difficult scale. very unclear on what she wants. take notes on what she says and constantly ask q's
Very resourceful! I took this class in the summer. She is very knowledgeable, well respected. Lectures are posted on Blackboard so you can get a head start. Fun class, lots to learn. Tests are not difficult. She provides all information needed for the exams. Not boring, very interesting!
The hardest teacher I ever took in my life, but at the same time she is the best teacher ever. She makes you work a lot but if she saw you as a hard student she will help you. She will make anything for her student. She don’t take attendance, but she will notice if someone is not in the class and she will ask them why they didn’t come.
Dr. Nette is very nice, however her summer Bio130 class is very hard. Its a lot of information to obtain. Her homework is the study guides that take hours to complete and she does collect them. Her test are very difficult and the wording is difficult to understand as well. She teaches on a university level and it can get very hard at times.
As head of the department Nette truly expects greatness from her students. The class is not hard just a lot of work. Lecture aspect is average with essay-heavy tests. Lab involves significant writing for each lab including two formal reports. Online discussion of The Epigenetics Revolution. Take her if you're serious about your education.
She tries to sound scary, but really she is human. However, she does seem to favor certain students over others. Tough exams. Expects too much from the lab reports.
Took it over the summer. Do not take her unless you are a bio major or love the subject. There was nothing easy about this class and I wanted to pull my hair out during the lectures. I do not recommend.
She is moody. she explain over and over if you ask her. unfair teacher.
Read the book religiously (Seriously)! Complete the study guides and utilize the powerpoint topics when reading. Lecture is useless. Complete labs early so you have time to study. Go to the writing center as much as you can! Proofread your reports and talk to a tutor. You will evolve as a student by being proactive. I got an A.
Lab reports and your exams will make up 90% of your grade. She grades heavy on lab reports! (Use the tutoring center starting with 1st lab report!) Anything on the studyguides (do them all) and Powerpoint is fair game on the exam. NOT a terrible teacher!!! Because of what she taught me in this class I got into a lab at UCSD b4 I left cuyamaca. 3
DO NOT take nette if U can help it. she picks Ur answers apart 4 stupid stuff &Dsnt factor in the fact that U actually get the overall point. I got As N all my other nursing pre reqs, she ruined my gpa. it's not impossible 2 get an A cause some people did, it's just that U will kill Urself 4 even a B &with the guy U Cld work hard &come out w/ an A
Her lectures are horrible. She jumps between chapters and you are tested are things that are not covered yet. She wants you to respect her, but she has no respect for her students. She acts like she is the best and the rests are trash. I would drop her class in first week of semester, if this was not my last semester at Cuyamaca college.
As a bio major, and a previous honors/AP student in HS, I can attest that this class was probably the heaviest class I've ever taken. Prepare to make this your #1 focus for the semester, but also learn ALOT. Form groups, ASK QUESTIONS... esp about your formal reports. She's not very clear with her comments/grading, but she wants specific info.
She discourages rather than encourages. You will dedicate so much time to this one class and you will get grades back that are for someone who doesn't even try. She doesn't post grades. She has very very high expectations for a low div major PREP class. I like her as a person, that's it. Don't take her if you're taking other hard courses.
If you want to work hard and receive a c average then take her class. Strict grader, marks even 1/4th points off answers. Worst grader even coming from a/ b students. If choice to pick someone else, save yourself she doesn't care about you.
One of the worst professors I've ever had. Favors students & is not a fair person. She makes you feel stupid when you ask her questions even though she's SUPPOSED to be there to help you. Took another micro prof after her and he's so much better than how she taught. Don't take this class! Her helper Sam is also rude & favors the pretty girls..
By far the toughest class I have ever taken. Dr. Nette will grade you without holding anything back, so try your best with the lab reports and study hard for exams. Make sure you pay attention when she explains the labs because it seems it's one of her pet peeves when you make a mistake in lab. READ THE BOOK!!!! It's more helpful than the lectures.
I worked my butt off and got a B+ in the course. She prepared me for the level of difficulty at my University. Advice: Read before class, she provides amazing study guides. She expects you to be able to UNDERSTAND and EXPLAIN the material. Take the lab seriously, work hard she will respect you. Don't be afraid to ask questions. She cares!
THIS IS A VERY HEAVY CLASS!! Lectures were mainly where test questions were from, but don't expect any PPTs to be given. Go to the STEM center for help and ask questions! She is a hard grader, but if you ask questions, she'll help you understand for future assignments. Don't expect to learn everything in the lectures, I suggest reading ahead.
Dr. Nette is an awesome person! I am taking her right now, everyone had told me scary things about her, but you know what? if you study and care to do the work you're assigned then you should be fine! I am planning to get an A in this class, all you need is a good plan and passion. Good luck if you're with taking the class with me this semester!!
Test aren't that hard, but the labs are extremely hard. By the end of her class you'll know how to write a proper lab report and will be prepared to transfer. Expects A LOT out of her students and expects you to put in your full effort. Very hard to get an A, but passing is very doable.
Unorganized, late to class, and unprofessional. She fell so behind that we had to take two exams for a final with a lab report due the same day. Questions on the exams are phrased weird and she'll expect the more broad answer versus the more correct (specific) answer. She's also a picky grader so one synonym out of place will cost you points.
She came to class late EVERYDAY. We would have 10page lab reports due the same day as our exams. She fell so far behind that we had Two tests on our final. The whole entire class basically failed or dropped out towards the end. She is so picky on grading. She will say "be more specific" then tell you "it was too specific" after you fix it.
Very unorganized and unclear, Her labs are impossible; She gives you 3 lab reports that are about 10 pages each; she is a picky and unfair grader grader when it comes to lab reports. Also, she gives no rubric on the last one, so you don't know what to put on there. She'll talk for hours about the lab reports, yet doesn't seem to explain anything
I'm not going to write a review of her because I think all the negative comments describe her class very well. The class is a joke. I just wanted to share with everyone that the positive comments sound very much like her, the same words that she uses. Just letting you all know.
Please, do yourself a favor & AVOID NETTE! I read all of the reviews & thought it's ok, I'm a good student & I'll do good, but she is just ridiculous! Such a hard, picky grader. She's also so behind. Did not take our second test until AFTER spring break and there is 6 total (including final). Somehow, we have 4 more tests in 5 weeks. Avoid her!!!!
Really boring lectures , the professor is respectful but make no attraction for students to understand
Over the summer, very knowledgable in her field. But, can be condescending and her lectures are extremely bland. Exams werent to hard/bad, some questions just worded awkwardly. Worst thing was the group project (make a board and present ). She also lost my 1st quiz and didnt find out till last day, and tried to tell me I didnt take it, good luck xD
Worst teacher ever! She is unnecessarily rude & does not respect others. She makes it hard to ask her questions because if you say something wrong she will YELL at you! You dont learn anything in lectures because she stands at the board & talks about a picture for hours instead of writing notes on the board. AVOID her even if youre a good student
Taking Professor Nette over the summer and my God is her lab miserable. If you miss even a couple answers she grades you down. Very bland Professor with boring lectures in Bio 130 as well. No excitement in her voice what so ever. Monotone. Even working hard, if you have one spelling error shell mark you down. I wouldnt do again. Ever. Avoid!
Please, for your own sanity, do not take this professor. She grades the homework not on effort but answers. Also, on tests, she uses wording that was never used in the book so it's confusing. She doesn't post updates or let you see correct test answers if you miss any. She doesn't update grades. Avoid. She's hard to pass and rude to students.
She does not care if you have a job or a family. She once told someone "I don't care do it". She clearly struggles with online teaching. I've emailed her multiple times with different questions and she always responds as if I was an idiot. Summer was 4 test 100 pts each, one project 100pts, 20 regular assignments 10 pts each. No EC DO NOT DO IT!
There is no extra credit I did everything on the last paper and answered all of her questions and she gave me a really bad grade. She said she would post a rubic in which there was not. She is not clear with her words on exactly what to do. She is such a picky grader anyone it would be a different stor I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER TAKE HER CLASS AGAIN.
DONT TAKE HER! The rudest teacher I have ever come in contact with! She waited until the VERY LAST DAY to grade everything and sent me the rudest messages once I asked if there was anything I could do. Sheesh. All you had to do was say yes or no. She shouldn't be able to teach the way she talked to me. Never again will I take this person's class.
I would avoid her class, find anyone else! I got an A but I had to challenge her because she made a mistake and refused to fix it, she just started giving me full credit on other assignments. She literally took a class during ours and actually said she was too busy to provide more assistance. They need to audit her classes and force her to retire.
By far one of the worst professors I've ever had. Gave us multiple pop quizzes that most students flunked on. Gave a tremendous amount of homework that never got graded and she failed most of the students in my class. BEWARE OF HARSH GRADING! She repeats "real world" scenarios even though she's very old and has been out of the loop for a while.
I love Nette! I would give her a 5 but she just a bit slow with grading. She truly cared about us all doing well and did everything in her power to make sure we knew the material and would be successful in our medical careers. Shes a character, and treats you like the an adult, so you do have to work really hard, she will recognize that though!
The worst. Her lectures are hard to sit through bc her voice is so monotone, slides are seriously outdated, and she gets sidetracked so much! Shell spend the first 40mins of class rambling about things not relevant to the material and in the end we were so behind on everything. Final grades werent until TWO WEEKS after teacher deadline.
She is very understanding of student's life outside of school and helps out during lab in a lot of ways. Not a harsh grader and is easy to talk to. Did not use canvas all semester though so you must ask her if you want to know where you stand in the class.
I took the summer version of this class this summer. It was average. I thought I'd get an A, but I got a B. Your grade depends on exams and final project. Class could have been organized better. First four weeks are easy, but last two are hectic. Sometimes she isn't clear on things. For the summer classes, you will have weekly quizzes.
Will spend a lot of time lecturing on material you wont be quizzed/tested on.This lead to the class being behind and not taking our first exam until 2 months into semester. Takes off her mask and walks around. Keeps students 15-60 min. past lecture time ends. Grades impossibly. Highly recommend choosing a different prof.
She was extremely rude to people wether they participated or not, did not answers questions in any kind matter, gives lots of content heavy homework based on subpar wordy lectures with to no real content. I had to drop due to not having time for her ridiculously lengthy assignments (that she will fail if she doesn't like) and a big family emergency
Don't ever take this professor she is the worst professor I ever have had.
She refuses to answer any of the students' questions, uses the entire lecture time to complain about the school's budget, talks about politics, or talks about jobs she used to work for when she was younger. Very picky grader, deducts points for things not mentioned in her rubrics. In quizzes/exams, she only accepts answers from her powerpoints
If you want an easy pass, not for you, each test fully written, maybe 1-3 multiple choice if you get lucky, The questions they ask are very vague, So you could confuse it for a different concept and answer it completely incorrectly. I took anatomy and Physio at the same time and did better in those classes then this one alone. Pick dif teacher.
This class was just too much it did something to my mental. Lots of projects. She rambles on other stuff. Towards the end she made a comment that was very telling she is a z!onist
Vague rubrics for projects. Made us write a report with no instructions then harshly docked points off. exams mainly written and not entirely cle
Not paying attention and considerate if the student had disability and should give sometime to submit the assignment and homework not give half grade for late submission
very unreliable professor. She is old so would never reply to emails, and did have digital grades. Lectures, she constantly went off on tangents. Textbooks hardly referred to material taught in class.Could not maintain a schedule, The last exam and final were only 1 day apart because she failed to plan accordingly. I am at my word limit, but more..
Bio 230 is a hard class, but Nette is the best option as she has taught for longer and is more prepared. If you study and do the work you will be fine. The labs are not too hard and we worked in groups at times. The class itself it's just a lot of material but she does her best.
The class is hard because of the material I don't think it has to do with the professor. The professor is alright I don't feel strongly in anyway, she does help students with internships and scholarships which is nice so that's why I gave a 4. I would take bio 230 with easier classes so you can do your best.
the worst professor ever
Doesn't give labs back since she takes long to grade. By the time the semester is almost over, 3 weeks left, she only has 60% of labs done. Won't like anyone's writing for the labs or exams so might call the class incompetent and you all need to take English 120 again. Runs behind in units so expects you to teach a majority of the work to yourself.
This class was quite challenging, but the professor cared about our success. Lectures can be disorganized at times, but engaging with the material and using resources like Unstuck ai helped me stay on top of things. Overall, a worthwhile course if you're willing to put in the effort.
Nette just reads off some outdated slides, keeps us 30+ min after class and falls behind on units. Only hw is study guides + 2 lengthy projects. VERY strict in lab, assigned seating, no lab hw but a lab final! PICKY GRADER. Answers must be written HER way. Don't get on her bad side! Grades are never posted online. U must teach yourself and study!!!
Don't expect her to post anything on canvas, it won't happen. If you want feedback on anything she probably won't give you any. Expects lab reports to be perfect when she barely explains how she wants them completed
This class was a complete waste of time and money. By the second week, she had already canceled our class and a lab period. She is extremely disorganized and does not stick with the syllabus at all. We didn't take our first test until the day before spring break. The tests were very difficult and she is specific about answers. Ruined bio for me.
the reviews on here are super harsh, shes a good teacher. she is more "old-fashioned," so not much to see on canvas. she genuinely cares about her students; makes sure they are learning the material well. she can be a bit picky w answers, but honestly she lets us know what is going to be on the test beforehand, so it makes sense to be a lil picky.
