She cuts students no slack!!! Beware!!!

She is really tough but she taught be to be a lot better writer.

She's tough, but brilliant nonetheless. She leaves the prompts open for your interpretation, as well as essay length. Just make sure your subject is covered. She's hard on grammar- if you don't know your comma's, you will by the semester's end. She's a lot of fun, and has strong morale and will. Also very helpful. Make sure you do your reading!

I didn't think she was that hard but I love English. She is very nice and encouraged me to work harder because she gives great feed back on her essays.

Not an easy class but if you pay attention and try you will definitely pass. She is extremely helpful and is willing to work with you as long as you are not slacking off.

I really enjoyed this class. Ms. Q is extremely helpful. Everything conducted in class is also listed in the syllabus. I learned a lot in this class. If you do your work and listen; it should be an easy A!

Ms. Quesenbury, I AWESOME...the previous comments regarding failing the class couldn't be further from the truth...attend class, follow instructions, ask for help if unsure...you will learn a lot and you will pass the class...how well you do is up to you. I learned alot, she's a GREAT teacher.

I was in Engl 1301 with Ms. Quesenbury during spring semester, decided to take 1302 during Maymester. The class was challenging, but well worth it. Ms. Q is extremely helpful, well organized, every assignment is detail on her syllabus...if you attend class, follow instructions you will be successful. EXCELLENT Instructor!

She's not exactly easy, but do everything that is asked of you and you'll be fine. She's straight-forward and posts grades within a reasonable timeline. However, she can be quite rude at times.

She's really cool and very helpful. I love her teaching methods. I can't wait to take for comp 1. Her class is pretty much laid back but she makes sure she go out her to make sure you understand the material thats needed

She's real cool funny you have to pay attention but if you show up everyday you wont miss anything.She has quizzes that she gives reviews to right before the quiz that are very helpful ...pay attention gives exact reviews for her essays and SHE WILL definitely help you if you ASK.. NOT an easy A but you will learn great for essays in other classes

She is very helpful. If you need guidance, she is there for you. Quizzes are easy as long as you make it to class on time because she gives a quick review first and study time. BE SURE TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS when it comes to your essays. If you use first person in even one sentence on your research paper its automatic 70% not matter how good it is!

Very nice very fun, she was very understanding. She was strict on grammar and cell phone use, but she was also very linient on other things. I loved coming to her class and she usually let us leave early

She's funny and reasonably stict. You have a total of about 5 grades in the semester, but if you pay attention it's super easy. Essays are short and sweet and half the class is about participation. If you are taking her, I suggest doing the project immidiately. I did, and the entire semester was worry free.

She's a very interesting person--silly, funny, and serious. I have been taking her class for the second semester, and I will definitely taking her class again (American literature) next semester. She's a little bit picky in grading, but easy, easy, easy... As long as you follow her instruction. Highly recommended. TAKE HER.

She's very specific with directions and doesn't give you a handout of things to follow, so if you can somehow record her or type out the instructions on a computer as she says them you'll be golden. Definitely used both books. She's funny but can be a little condescending at times. I took her for Maymester and got a 93.

Ms. Q is awesome!!!! She explains assignments, quizzes, tests etc very clear. She makes learning and writing english very fun! I recommend her!

Pretty easy, just have to follow instructions. Supposed to read, but I did fine without it, still need the books. Alot of grammar and writing. Three essays and 3 analysis. Not a class for lazy people! She also lets class out early. "Whenever you're done I'm done". Very helpful and nice.

Ms. Q is awesome. There is quite a bit of work in the class but she does not grade too hard and is very clear about assignments and due dates. Her lectures are great and you can tell she genuinely cares about her students success. I would definitely recommend Ms. Q to anyone

Took her for a Maymester and she made the class very do-able. She is willing to go over things if you didn't understand them the first time around. I was dreading taking this class but I ended up enjoying it more than I expected. She grades a bit hard but you will learn a lot. I definitely recommend taking her! Simply awesome!

I'd take Ms. Q again. She's willing to answer questions, offers extra credit, and her feedback on essays is helpful. She tells you what she's looking for in each essay, making it easy to improve your grade.

Ms. Q was much better than my ENGL1301 prof. There are about four essays, the last one having to be 5 pages, and the textbook does help. If you do the work you should pass easily. You don't have to show up all the time but it's better if you're there most of the time. Ms. Q is funny, really nice, and sometimes gives extra credit.

Mrs. Q is awesome, I have taken her for three Eng classes. If you follow the guidelines and follow the criteria it is easy and fun. She gives you all the dates that you are expected to meet on the first day of class. She tells you what she expects, and how she is going to grade. She hates repeating her self. Amazing teacher! Definitely recommend!

This class is not at all difficult,only if you choose to miss class and not keep up with the syllabus, which is almost always on track. She can be a bit confusing because she forgets to add in some details; recommend asking her questions about the assignments just to be clear. You only have four Essay's and HW is super easy. There's no way to fail.

You have a few essays and only have to present one which is mandatory or you lose points. As long as you turn in assignments on time and pay attention you should be fine. She is a great teacher but is tough grader. Would highly recommend her if you are really bad at writing like me, you will definitely learn how.

Instructor Quesenbury made english easy for me. Most of grades are based on your homework assignments (which are easy) just get them done. No test at all, but she gives 4 essays just follow her instructions and take advantage by asking her for help on them. You can not fail this class unless you decide not to put any effort into the course.

Loved Ms. Q! I took her for both ENG 1301 and 1302. She was so much fun during class and is super helpful if you have any questions. Takes notes on ANY feedback she gives you because everything she says will ensure you do things correctly. Great person and amazing professor! I totally recommend her!!! :)

Mrs.Q is a great teacher. It is obvious that she loves what she does. At first she may come off a little harsh but in the end she means well. I loved taking her class and I would definitely take her again. She is very helpful when you need help with your essays and she is available around her office hours.

I was surprised, I thought her class would suck but it was actually very decent! Expect daily homework but its super easy. Make good homework grades just in case you're not the best essay writer. She gives great feedback on how you can improve your essays and shes not a horrible grader either, I never made below a 70. she does offer extra credit.

Quesenbury Kathryn is amazing teacher. She's funny. She's really good about writing idea and how to organize a essay. She grades easily if you finish your homework. She is perfect!

Mrs. Q is the best teacher ever! She may make inappropriate jokes like slitting her wrist, but I'm assuming gory humor is a coping mechanism. She truly cares about all her students and grades to the best of her ability. She's also very helpful and has a big heart! Don't let her first impression strike you too hard.

FANTASTIC Eng. teacher! The best one I have had. I took her for both 1301 & 1302. She really wants her students to pass & see them succeed in life. She understands how hard life can be but if you put in the effort she works with you! She lets you chose your essays which always helps. Gives great help and feedback!

2 books, one is around $40 other $75 (as of 2018). It's COMPOSITION so there's a focus on writing. Something like 5 papers due. She gives lots of time and offers lots of help to succeed. She can come off as strict, but it's like an old west, unspoken, cowboy friendship based on respect or something. Be cool to her, she'll be cool to you. That's all

So I absolutely hate English, it's my least favorite subject of all time. With Dr. Quesenbury, she made it tolerable, though, I did get a D (which was just because I didn't do the homework) There are four essays in comp 1, and the thesis of all of them apply to your major, so not only does she teach you English, she prepares you for your future.

Her class was easy! I didn't use the textbooks I just used google. There is one project that you have to put together but it is really easy. You only have to write 4 articles and present a project. Take her.

Amazing teacher, she explained everything clearly, and makes sure you understand the material. All the papers revolve around your interests rather then the generic topic. Made class fun to attend, and helps out with suggestions when you are stuck. I'm not a strong writer, nor do I like doing it, but would defiantly take her classes again!

Dr.Q is such an amazing teacher! As long as you do youre homework and you turn in youre essays on time youll be fine. Yes you have 4 essays but theyre super easy because your prompts are based on your major. She keeps it really interesting. She gives you ALOT of time on youre essays to. No quizzes/tests. Great teacher, definitely recommend! ��

I loved her class. There are 5 essays that If you work hard on are an easy A and if you go to the writing lab, which is only 30 of someone helping you with your essay, you get 5 extra points. I had a high enough score that I didnt even have to take the final and still got an A! I definitely recommend her class. She is funny and very understanding

shes super funny and sweet! she is a tough grader with essays and there are only 4 or 5. its all about you and your career choice. if you email her letting her know you wont be there she will understand. 10/10 would take her class again for comp 2.

Dr Q is my favorite professor i've had so far, i was able to have her for two semesters and have learned so much in this class. be ready to read, since each class is heavily based on the ready and articles that peers bring in. she is very clear on her grading criteria and sometimes grades hard, but will always be willing to help you learn.

Yes, I agree with some of the reviews--she's not an "easy A." But she's just an amazing teachers with a dry sense of humor. I don't think everyone gets that she's often making funny remarks about grammar or the reading. I learned so much more in her class than in any English class I've taken. I would absolutely recommend her.

Dr. Q was honestly one of my best professors but I can understand how some might have thought she was tough. Interacting, asking questions, and actively completing assignments is important to succeed in this class. When she sees that you are actually trying your hardest she is more understanding and willing to help. Overall, she is a great teacher.
