She blamed her students for everything that went wrong in a class. She fell behind so much that we had two tests, three journals, and an exam in a period of two weeks. If you can avoid her...DO SO.

Too smart to carry on a conversation with anyone but herself, but can't match her clothes. Goes in crazy circles and never gets ANYTHING done, then what do ya know there's a test on 9 chapters 3 days away and she hasn't started teaching! She accuses 68 out of 120 of her student of plagiarizing, GET ANOTHER TEACHER!

SpaCRAZY was a common name for this teacher. She does not deserve the name Professor and I will not call her Dr. Sparace either. She was not a good teacher, and if you do take her, God bless your soul if you do, don't expect to get your tests or journals back on time. They seem to get "lost" in her atrocious office.

if you enjoy being completely lost at ALL times, and enjoy an incompetent teacher who teaches material from a different class then have at this one!! She is CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worst experiance ever

This woman is the worst teacher I've ever had. I ended up having to stop going to her class and fail it becuase no matter what I did she always accused me of plagerizing. I did some research and found out she got fired from Clemson because she pagerized on her own research. DO NOT TAKE HER... She does nothing but talk in circles and gets no where.

She does nothing but talk in circles. If you ask her to slow down she yells at us and says we don't have time to slow down. Every single class she says how smart the people in the front of the class are and how people in the back should learn from the ones in the front, this class ruined every other class I took this semester. Worst teacher ever!!!

This teacher is insane. Nothing she says makes sense... she'll waste 30 minutes talking about something completely off-subject and then wonder why she gets so far behind. Fall '08 semester, she wrote up half her students for plagiarism- even if it was only due to forgetting a parenthetical citation. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.

Mrs.Sparace, I really hope you read all of these comments about you. Every single one of them is true. You're a horrible teacher, and deep down I know, for a fact, you realize that. It's borderline pathetic that you're even employed, after everything I've heard about what's gone on in your past. Is Tri-County that desperate for Biology teachers?

i came in the class very interested in biology...being my major and all. she is nice but is useless for help. if you ever try to set up help or anything she always makes up an excuse. also 10 out of 13 people in the class were written up for plagiarism and given a 0 even if it was just failure to cite. i was one of the lucky 3 though.

Worst teacher ever!! I even went to her office every week trying to get papers back and she never had them. DROP the class if you have her! Just suck it up and take it another time. I almost quit because of her.

Dr. Sparace is a very nice person..But I honestly think she should be doing research and not teaching. She throws her PHD around way to much...funny though doesn't mean she can teach. Oh she can lecture but honestly can you learn from it....NO! She will not get my DOR! I WILL NOT DO IT!!!

absolutly the hardest class of my life. I think I learned more about her cat then anything to do with biology. she is a very nice person but just not a great teacher. She is extreamly smart but just doesnt know how to explain. be prepard not to make over a D or C on anything (if your lucky.)

worst class ever. Dr. Sparace's lectures were extremely difficult to understand and she almost always kept us 5 minutes after class. If you take this course, make sure you schedule plenty of time to get to your next class. She has a likable personality, but she definitely wasn't meant to be a teacher and you will work your butt off for your grade.

I've listened to Berkely professors and learned more. Be ready to teach yourself. I had a 3.8 avg over 2 yrs before her, and this class blew it. Tech schools are suppose to be a different learning atmosphere. I work hard in school, but a good grade with her is almost impossible. Get references before taking any professors. Dont waste time with her.

Dude she blew my mind. Never, ever take any class with her. Pretty sure she might of just not failed anyone that stuck with the course all year cause there is no way i earned a C. Started with 30 ppl in the class, by the end of the year 13 were still in it. 17 out of 30 either dropped it or just stopped coming and took an F cause they had no shot.

absolutely the worst teacher possible. pointless assignments, useless power points, she will never give you info about a test. she will spend a large amount of time talking about her success (which i don't doubt has much truth) and rambling on incoherently. one simple piece of advice, DONT take this class.

Disorganized, confusing, doesn't cover all material included on tests. Class consists of pure lecture, and the notes she adds on the board are illegible. She is a very nice person who is willing to explain things to you outside of class, but if you need this class plan to study your life away. Otherwise, switch teachers!

Well, all I can say is DO NOT TAKE HER if you have a choice. i made a B but it wasn't easy & was such a horrible experience.She's all over the place in lecture and is such a pain when it comes to the research paper. Basically not clear about anything.I definitely did not get a 'shes a nice person' vibe like the others on here. HORRIBLE TEACHER!!!

This teacher is extremely hard to follow during lecture because she jumps in so many different directions. She is more focused on the students getting to know each other than teaching the material. The homework and tests that she gives is never what is taught in class. It is a waste of money to take her classes.

I've had a lot of bad teachers and difficult courses in my time but this one takes the cake. Papers are ridiculous, tests are insane, homework load is excessive, lectures are disorganized, boring, and irrelevant, and she CAN NOT explain things. Only class I ever had to drop because of the teacher. Avoid this teacher at all costs.

She js all over the place. Ive never been so confused

She doesn't get grades back to you. She teaches things wrong. She never stays on topic. Her diagrams don't even make sense. Terrible teacher altogether. Avoid her at all costs.

Won't respond to emails and promises to send emails with things to help out with exams, but won't send them until 7 MIN before the exam (at which point everything is at the front of the room so you can't access your email much less have time to really study whatever she sent) & won't keep up with assignments or the schedule. Sporadic teaching.

I would never recommend her to anyone, although she is the lesser of the two evils at this school. She never hands anything back and doesn't really teach the material well.

Too busy informing you that you're a "victim" than helping you; Can't teach; Circumnavigates your questions--probably because she doesn't know the answer herself; Be prepared to do work, never get grades on it, and never see them again!

Professor Sparace knows a lot about the subject matter but can never explain it properly. She cares about her students' success but is very unorganized and the tests are a lot harder than any activity/review that is ever done. If you want to survive ,attend all the SI sessions!

This teacher should not be teaching. She is really bad about her own personal time management and never gives anything back on time. Lectures about the most irrelevant topics. Tests ARE NOT at a level 1 bio class. She takes questions from a grad school. She gives you graduate level tests. She is a smart woman but cannot teach at all.

I never had a test handed back in a reasonable amount of time, and despite the next semester starting I still don't know my final grade. Additionally her lectures will teach you nothing; you need to teach yourself the material. If you do this the tests aren't hard. She does care about you if you make an effort, she's just a bad teacher.

AVOID IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.... Mrs. Sparace is a very nice lady but she is undoubtedly the worst teacher I have ever had! Her tests are very difficult and her teaching style is Very unorganized. You'll quickly find that she is hard to follow and makes things way more difficult than they have to be. Her tests are also very difficult to study for!

Started talking about phloem and xylem then spent the next 30 minutes talking about maple syrup and estrogen during pregnancy. If you do have to take her just play games on your computer during class and read the book and you'll be good to get a C.

Professor Sparace is THE WORST professor I have ever had in my life. She CANNOT for the life of her stay on track at all during lecture; if you get her, prepare to be confused the entire time. She is a sweet person and wants everyone to do well, but she just cannot teach at all. Go to SI, her office, and study the outlines and the book!!

Very hard teacher. She does not know how to stay on topic. I am very good at biology and I thought this class was unnecessarily difficult. Make sure to go to her office hours or you will barely pass. Just going to class and studying is not enough.

If you have any chance at all to withdraw from this class and take a different professor, DO IT. Her lecture is so scatter brained that you will get NOTHING from lecture but you're still required to be there. Get ready to teach yourself Biology, because unless you can study a book and power points, you will not pass.

She is a very nice lady, but cannot stay on topic. I recommend ready the text book, doing well in lab, and doing the homework to pull your grade up. If you expect to just go to lecture and pass, you won't. You have to put time into this class. I would go talk to her because she really cares, but she doesn't know how to convey information well.

This professor gives strange analogies that are hard to follow. When she does make a mistake and students attempt to tell her, she blows them off and ignores them. The most common phrase I've heard by fellow classmates is that she is consistently inconsistent. She also happens to be homework heavy. She is also horrible about responding to emails.

I took (and loved) AP Bio in high school so I thought this class would be a walk in the park. Wrong. I feel like she made this class WAY harder than it needed to be. I would recommend going to every SI session because thats the only way you can get anything from this class. I ended with a B, no idea how. (I took this class Spring 2019)

Every single time I went to class, she would just confuse me even more than I already was. Also she said "No test makeups. If you're in a coma, you better wake up and come take the test." If you ask her a question, she'll talk for 15 minutes but wont answer your question. Also if you're hoping to get out of class early, you can forget that.

Whatever you do, do not take this woman for any class. Seriously, don't.

Worst teacher I've ever had. She doesn't test on half the things she rants about in class. She gave a lot of quizzes and worksheets, half of them were never graded or seen ever again. She is the most unorganized person I have ever met. You are better off going home and teaching yourself then even sitting in the class with her. and RUDE!

She is the most disorganized professor I have ever had. She gives out tons of projects that are never graded or mentioned again. She makes everything much more harder than it needs to be and if you ask questions she just rambles about something completely unrelated. If you get her as a professor, drop the class or switch teachers immediately.

If you want to pay for someone to not be able to teach this is the perfect class for you. Mrs. Sparace does not how to teach and when she does "teach" you will be treated like an elementary school. You would be better off teaching you self and making sure you know the material rather than listening to one of her lectures.

Save yourself the headache! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!! Her attendance policy is atrocious! Her lectures DO NOT help! She barely even knows what she's talking about (said normal blood pressure was 80/120 one time) It's an easy class, but I'd rather take a harder class than sit through another lecture of hers! DO NOT TAKE THIS WOMAN'S CLASS! TERRIBLE!!

Didnt even know her own stuff. Told us the aorta goes into the heart. Really need to reevaluate her as she made so many mistakes with grading and was so hard to get to fix it.

Let me just say, she is genuinely nice. I feel like she outside of class she is different than in class. But holy cow, if you really want to have a bad day, go ahead and take the class. There is seriously no possible way you are going to pass from only listening to her lectures. She goes over slides in class and just rambles for hours it feels like

She does not know how to work technology, so grades are not put into the grade book, online homework is assigned a day before the due date, and she does not upload the right documents she goes over in class.
